Chapter I

Naruto's Secret

If you asked everybody in Konoha if Naruto loved Sakura, they would all say yes. Everyone saw Naruto's behavior around her for a long time so why not think that? In truth Naruto was actually in love with Hinata. He found her very unique and someone that he could love from the day he came to her aid when she was being bullied. He remembered her eyes and how they pulled him in. He saw someone he be truly happy with and he wanted nothing more than to be with her for the rest of his life. But she was from the Hyūga clan and he knew that he would probably never have her for a wife in the future in his current state. So he decided to work extra hard, not only so he could become Hokage, but so he could also get the Hyūga clan's permission to marry her.

Another secret that no one knew about Naruto was that he loved to draw and write. He was very good in both fields. If anyone read his stories, they could rival Jiraiya's books. The same could be said about his drawings if compared to Sai. He was so good that he had a perfect drawing of Hinata in one of his closets, he kept it in a box with his other drawings and books. Before Naruto left with Jiraiya to start his long training, he stored away his secrets in a sealing scroll and continued whenever he could. During the whole course of the training, Naruto hid his secrets from Jiraiya and he never suspected a thing.

Whenever he came back from his trip, the first thing he wanted to do was go see Hinata. Being a few years without seeing her was like looking into the sky at night and not seeing the moon. He was hurrying to go find her, but Jiraiya reigned him in. "I know you're excited about seeing your friends Naruto. But we need to report to the Hokage." Naruto sighed, great now I can't see Hinata. I wonder how much she's changed since the last time I saw her? She has to be taller and probably prettier too. "Alright..." Naruto said as he walked with Jiraiya to the Hokage tower.

The meeting with Tsunade was too long for Naruto. He was getting so impatient that Tsunade sent him home and told him to come back the next morning. Naruto quickly ran off to go find Hinata, though the grown ups didn't know it. "That boy sure has grown. He's gotten good at writing too. He seems to be a natural for it." Jiraiya said as Naruto searched for the Hyūga with his heart. "I hope he hasn't been witting any of those books that you write. Lord knows what I'll do to you if he turns out exactly like you." Tsunade said as she glared threateningly at Jiraiya. "I didn't make him write any Icha Icha Paradise Tsunade." Jiraiya said as his sweat dropped. Tsunade seemed to calm down a little bit and he excused himself so he could go do some research. Jiraiya managed to escape the Hokage tower before Tsunade could kill him thankfully.

Naruto looked around for Hinata for what seemed hours. How hard can it be to find a girl hiding behind something staring at you? He growled in frustration. He ran into Sakura and chatted for a while, bumped into Ino who seemed to have reestablished her friendship with Sakura, talked with Tenten for a little bit, but still no Hinata. Of course he ran into his other friends like Neji, Lee, Shikamaru, Kiba, and Shino, but he hadn't been able to find Hinata anywhere. He was walking near the training grounds when he heard something that sounded like a series of cracks. He turned to the noise. As he listened he could tell that there was a rhythm to it and, now he could make it out better, it sounded like someone hitting one of the wooden targets. He crossed over to see who it was and was left in complete shock. There she was, Hinata was training, performing one of her Gentle Fist exercises. Her hair was long now though it still held that same look she had as a genin. Her face had matured as well, though it only made her ten times cuter than before. Her figure also changed besides her facial features and her hair. Naruto could tell she had grown into a beautiful young woman. She looked like the pinnacle of what a woman should look like. Naruto never saw something so pure or so dazzling in all his life. To him, it was like he just found the most amazing flower ever. He recalled something he learned when he decided to look up her name's meaning. Of course he knew that her name meant "towards the sun" but he also learned it could also mean "pure white lily." And boy did she fit both meanings perfectly. Naruto stood there for a while watching her train not wanting to disturb her.

He soon left without her noticing so that he could draw her in full detail when he got home. He spent hours working on his latest drawing of Hinata. But when he was done, he was left with the most beautiful thing he ever drew yet. The drawing was of Hinata training on a wooden target. And everything was to detail. He admired his handiwork and placed it into his box to hide it from people he didn't want to know. He climbed into his bed and fell asleep with a smile on his face, not only was he closer to becoming Hokage soon, but he was also closer to his goal of marrying Hinata. He knew that she loved him and wanted what he wanted too. But he needed to get his strength up first before he could finally reveal his love for her. In the back of his mind, there was worry that she gave up on him. But another part of his mind told him that she would never give up on her love for him. He took comfort in those thoughts as he dozed off, dreaming of Hinata.
