NOTE: Not the finale of the tag tournament, but I'm still giving that one some thought. You shouldn't have to wait too long for that to get posted, but yeah. Here are some small things to keep you occupied.
Enjoy and Review!
Omake 1: The Yuji (and Leonidas) Cheer Squad!
"Ahem! Ahem! I hereby declare the initiation meeting of the Yuji (and Leonidas) Cheer Squad!" Serena declared, standing in her seat. Her actions drew attention from everyone else in the restaurant.
"Serena, sit down! You're causing a disturbance!" Alice pushed the young girl back down into her seat. The Russian girl quickly apologized to everyone else as she struggled to keep Serena in place.
"But Alice…! As the chairman of the Yuji (and Leonidas) Cheer Squad I have to announce our meetings! How else are you gonna know that we're starting!?" Serena whined.
"We can hear you just fine without the shouting, Serena. I'd much rather not suffer the embarrassment of getting kicked out." Alice looked over to the counter, seeing the familiar head of twin-tails glaring at their table as she cleaned. Alice mutters quietly and apologizes again, promising to keep the children under control.
"This place doesn't get any customers anyway, so they can't afford to kick us out."
"I HEARD THAT!" Runo barked, hissing at the little girl. Serena responded by sticking out her tongue at Runo, infuriating the owners' daughter even more.
"Serena, behave!" Alice warned, getting the girl to stop.
"Fine..!" Serena huffed. She grabbed her glass of orange juice to take a sip.
"Are you seriously incapable of acting civilized in public?" Akira, who was sitting across from them, asked.
"Nobody asked you, extra."
"Extra!?"
"You're only here to fill space, remember that."
"How am I just here to fill space?! Nene hasn't even met your brother!" Akira pointed at his little sister. Said little sister was currently drinking some apple juice, minding her own business.
"Don't drag me into this, extra."
"You're calling me an 'extra' too?!" He was ignored by his sister, so he turned back to Serena. "Well… what's stopping me from just leaving?!"
"You have nothing else better to do." Serena's reply caused the buck-tooth boy to shrink back into his seat.
Alice raised her hands. "Okay, okay, no more of that. You're not an 'extra' Akira. We value your input and presence here just as much as the rest of us." The radiant angelic aura of Alice started to shine.
"Ugh, Alice! Your aura!" Serena flinched back.
"I-it's too much…!" Nene had to look away.
"S-so blinding…!" Akira hissed painfully.
"Huh?" Alice blinks, confused by the kids' reactions. "W-what's wrong?" She feels a tap on her shoulder, turning around to see Runo covering her eyes.
"Alice, could you please turn down the light. You're disrupting the customers."
"M-me!? W-what light?!" She looks at the rest of the patrons, gaping at the sight of them all covering their eyes to avoid looking at her. "Why is everyone covering their eyes?!" She felt embarrassed just thinking about the fact that she's somehow causing these issues.
"It's okay, Alice." Serena now donned a pair of sunglasses. "You're just too good of a person. We lowly mortals can't even compare to your angelic beauty." Nene and Akira were nodding along, agreeing with Serena's statement.
"A-angelic?!" Alice's face was bright red at the compliment, cupping her face with her hands. "W-would Yuji think the same thing?" She couldn't help but think such embarrassing thoughts.
Runo managed to turn away from Alice, glaring at the little miscreants. "What are you guys even doing here? As much as we love paying customers-"
"Because you don't have any?"
Runo, without missing a beat, scribbled something down on a note. Her actions slightly confused the youngest Shujin, but the Haos Brawler simply moved on as if Serena hadn't said anything. "-You kids tend to cause issues everywhere you go, so unless you're looking to order some food to go with those drinks then I'm going to have to ask that you pay… I mean that Alice pays the bill, and you leave."
"We ARE doing something important!" Serena exclaimed. "We're the Yuji (and Leonidas) Cheer Squad! You should join us!"
"What?!" Runo squawked. "Why would I join a cheer squad for them?! I'm literally their opponent for the finals!" She watched as Serena tilted her head in confusion, the youngest Shujin giving her friends the same look. "W-what are you doing?"
"I'm just confused, that's all."
"For what reason?"
"It just doesn't make sense."
"What doesn't make sense?" Her eye twitched.
Serena had the audacity to switch her expression from confused to annoyingly smug. The young girl already prepared to jump over the distracted Alice if necessary.
"You're going to lose tomorrow anyway, so you might as well be a cheerleader."
Runo just smiled.
"Start running."
Omake 2: Training with the Jokester
"Alright, Yuji, today we're gonna do some extra special training!" Dan declared to his student. They were standing in the middle of the park at Dan's demand of getting some last-minute training in before the tag-tournament finals.
"What kind of training?" Yuji asked.
"Does it involve breaking the bones of our enemies?" Leonidas asked, resting on Yuji's shoulder.
"No."
"Snapping their necks like twigs?"
"Not at all."
"Ripping out their insides and using them like jump rope?"
"No…and why do you know any of that?" Dan was a bit nervous to ask.
"He's been watching action/horror movies with Serena and dad lately. The violence in them is all that really matters to him." Yuji sighed.
"I-I see…" Dan rubbed the back of his head. "Well, Leonidas, let's try not to kill any of the Bakugan you battle, okay?"
"Can I kill some of them?"
"You can kill none of them."
"What about one Bakugan? One stupid Bakugan that no one loves?"
"Now you're just making it sad…" Yuji groaned.
"Working on that bloodlust of yours is next on our to-do list, Leonidas." Drago reminded his fellow dragon.
"I have no idea what you mean. I have none of this 'bloodlust', all I crave is the feeling of crushing Bakugan between my claws."
"He has no idea what the word 'bloodlust' means." Yuji clarified for his teammates.
"Anyway, we're going to work on combination moves today. If we can pull off a sweet combination attack, then we'll totally take Runo and Marucho by surprise." Dan explained their plan.
"Why exactly didn't do any before?" Yuji asked.
"You and Leonidas weren't exactly working together yourselves, so I figured it was something that could wait until you two were back to normal. Luckily, just in time for the grand finale!"
"Oh! You want to pull something off between Drago and Leonidas!" Yuji realized, growing excited at the idea.
"Heck yeah! Wouldn't it be awesome?!"
"No."
Leonidas went ignored, because they knew that he was against the idea of pulling off a combo move with Drago. The Haos dragon would much rather battle Drago himself than actually fight side-by-side with him. "Leonidas, we talked about this." Yuji sounded like a stern parent.
"Until I have my rematch with Drago, I don't want to work with him."
"You'll get the rematch Leonidas and it's one match. Nothing bad is gonna come from pulling off a team move."
"Yeah, Leo, just straighten out your horn for once!"
…
…
…
Four sets of eyes turned to the park's fountain, where a certain Aquos Bakugan was staring right back at them. Preyas, the partner of Marucho, waved his little arm at the group. "Heya, guys!"
"Preyas?" Dan spoke first.
"Yeah?"
"Have you been here the whole time?"
"What? No way! I was following you guys the entire way here!"
"...And we just never noticed you?" Yuji felt a bit weirded out by that.
"I'm a stealthy little Bakugan!"
"You're about as stealthy as a raging saurus." Drago sighed. "Preyas, does Marucho know that you're out here?"
"Uhhh…."
"PREYAS!? PREYAS WHERE ARE YOU!?" Marucho was currently tearing his home apart, frantically searching for his partner.
"Totally!"
"So, he doesn't…"
Dan crossed his arms, walking up to his friend's partner. "Why were you following us, Preyas? Better be a good reason."
"What? Can't I help out some friends! Drago, Leonidas?"
"I don't like you." Leonidas said bluntly.
"What?! But I'm so loveable and cuddly!"
"S-so, you want to help us with team moves?" Yuji intervened before Leonidas could start a fight.
"Obviously! Otherwise, I would come off as some sort of creep!" Preyas exclaimed.
"You're already half-way there…" Drago mutters. "I don't think it's such a good idea, Preyas. Marucho isn't here to battle with you and you're also our opponent in the finals. Showing our hand to our opponent isn't wise."
"Eh, it's fine." Dan's response surprised the group. "We need someone who would be willing to act as a sparring dummy. I tried calling Shuji back out here, but he refused."
"How come?" Yuji asked.
"He said he didn't want to be a tutorial again. Which is weird, because that's like…his only purpose, ya'know?"
"I get it." Leonidas nods his head.
Yuji gives his partner a flat stare. "You understand that, but can't tell the difference between corn and popcorn?"
"It's not my fault! Why call it popcorn when it looks nothing like corn?!"
"Finally!" Preyas jumped onto Yuji's shoulder, sitting next to Leonidas. "Someone else who understands my plight! Up high, my brother!" He raises his tiny arm towards Leonidas.
"I don't like you."
"Why do you have to be so mean?!"
Dan sighed, pulling out a card. "I think it's about time we start before we get even more distracted, huh?"
"You're one to talk, Dan." Drago commented.
"What's that supposed to mean?!"
"You once failed to remember that movie night with Runo, because you got distracted eating several double cheeseburgers that your mother made."
Dan shivered, remembering just how furious Runo had been. He couldn't blame the Haos Brawler either, the two of them had been planning that night for a few weeks. It was entirely his fault for getting distracted, but his mother's cheeseburgers just couldn't be ignored. "Yeah…well…I made it up to her! Anyway, let's get started guys!"
His student looked at him, trying to ignore the squabbling Bakugan on his shoulders. "A-are you sure this is going to be okay?"
"What do you mean?"
Yuji pointed at the Bakugan.
Dan waved off his concerns. "It'll be fine! What's the worst that could happen?"
"GET BACK HERE!"
"EEEEKKKKK! SOMEONE SAVE ME!"
"LEONIDAS, QUIT IT! NOW!"
The two humans watched with dead stares as the three Bakugan chased each other around on the gate card. Preyas was running for his life, Leonidas was attempting to end the Aquos Bakugan's life, and Drago was trying to get his unruly children under control.
Dan didn't need to look to know the glance Yuji was giving him. The Pyrus Brawler just raised a card, sighing at himself. "L-let's just call it a day."
Omake 3: Popcorn
"Family movie night! Family movie night!" Serena sang happily, dressed in her frilly pink bunny onesie. The little girl plopped down on the couch, listening to the sweet sounds of popcorn being cooked.
"We're only doing one movie tonight, Serena." Serenity warned from the kitchen. "Last time we had a family movie night, you couldn't handle staying up for two."
"I was a kid, mom!"
"You're still a kid, kiddo." Her father, Ryuji, lightly flicked her forehead. "You have a bedtime too, so you're not going to weasel your way out of it." He warned his daughter, smiling at her cute pouting.
Yuji, dressed in a white T-shirt and basketball shorts, came down the steps with Leonidas. He sniffed the air, smiling at the delectable scent of popcorn. "Ah~! Always love it when mom makes the popcorn."
"What? I don't make good popcorn?" Ryuji raised a brow.
"No, last time you almost burned down the kitchen." Serena held nothing back. "Mom banned you from cooking popcorn or anything similar since."
"It wasn't that bad-"
"Dear, you managed to set salt on fire. Not even Serena has managed to accomplish that yet."
"I'm still trying!"
Leonidas observed the way the female Shujins absolutely brutalized the patriarch of the family. Then he sniffed the aurora of popcorn coming from the stove. "I don't understand you humans sometimes. This 'popcorn' makes no sense."
"What's not to understand?" Yuji asked.
"If it's popped corn, then shouldn't it explode in a violent fashion that will mortally wound our enemies?"
"...No. It's just a name, because of the way the food is cooked. It's meant for eating, not hurting others." Yuji explained.
"You should try some, Leonidas!" Serena picks him up from Yuji's shoulder.
"I can't."
"How come?"
"In this form, I am unable to eat." Leonidas explained.
"Really? Wow…that's sad. Imagine not being able to experience the joy of popcorn."
"It's a tragedy, I know." Ryuji agreed with his daughter.
Serenity, carrying over several bowls of hot popcorn, looked down at Leonidas. "That reminds me, how do Bakugan eat, Leonidas?"
"By eating."
"She's asking if you get hungry, buddy." Yuji clarified.
"I am hungry for battle!"
"We walked into this." Serena sighed.
"Do you need to eat food to survive, Leonidas?" Serenity asked once more.
"Ah! I see, that's what you meant! No, we Bakugan do not require substance in the way you humans do. We can partake in it within our true forms, but it isn't a need." Leonidas explained.
"Do you want to try popcorn, Leonidas?" Serena held up a single popcorn. She pushed it against the Bakugan's face.
"I can't eat it." He reminded her.
"Yeah, so stop, Serena. Let's just sit back and-" Yuji stopped when his little sister pulled out a card. "Wait-"
"FIELD OPEN!"
Brother and sister stood in the pocket dimension with a bowl of popcorn, Leonidas towering over them in his true form. The dragon leaned down, opening his mouth for Serena to dump the bucket of buttery popcorn into his mouth. Quick chewing is heard, followed by the sounds of swallowing.
"So? How does it taste?" Yuji asked.
"Bland."
"BLAND?!" Serena gasped.
"Too much of that slippery soap you humans add."
"That's called butter! How dare you not appreciate the epicness of popcorn?!"
"It tastes terrible."
"You taste terrible!"
"I DO NOT!"
"SO DO!"
"DO NOT!"
"DO TOO!"
"DO NOT!"
"DO TOO!"
Yuji just watched them argue, trying to ignore the headache. He reached into his pockets and pulled out a card to close the dimension, so they can just get back to movie night. He was just way too tired for this.
