Omake: The End

"Alice?"

Infinity Princess had always seemed emotionless. Distant.

Almost robotic.

"A-Alice?"

What little emotions ever appeared were muted. Not that noticeable.

But it had all been appearances.

The way things seemed. Not as they were.

Even those who didn't know her, had never met her, had that small, unknowable truth, deep within their unconscious.

Some might be poetic and say it's someone's soul recognizing that the other they're looking at, is indeed an 'other'.

There is nothing behind Kaina Shikinami's words, now.

The perpetrator, who'd been about to gloat, or something of the sort, stood unmoving.

No spell is to blame, no attack caused this.

Nothing but Infinity Princess's words.

And the unknowable, unfathomable wrongness where something should be.

Kaina does not move.

The target of her ire takes a fearful, stumbling step back, regardless.

For a moment, all present can audibly hear a magical reactor scream the pain Infinity Princess does not, can not.

Then, nothing.

Infinity Princess had always seemed like a mountain. An insurmountable peak, that you couldn't see, couldn't reach. The feel of her boundless reactor, an unmissable, blazing but somehow distant thrum.

There seems to be nothing there now.

That's the way things seem. That is not how they are.

Kaina takes a step.

The world, reality itself, shudders, bends and nearly breaks under her power.

A thought passes through the mind of fallen Magical Girl who killed Alice.

Humans, unless they've got some measure of magic, can't feel magic themselves. It's a measure of how beyond normal humans magical girls are.

The fallen Magical Girl can't feel anything from the monster approaching her.
