Yaddle POV:
She was nervous, a strange feeling for a Jedi, and even stranger for a master as old as her. Nevertheless, she still felt nervous. An unknown world, holding thousands of loyal people in just one city that sprung up in such a short time from what she could gather. It was unnerving that this Magnus could do this in such a short time frame. She needed to get answers, and thankfully they were coming.
She felt the ship sink and rise as the suspension in the landing gear took the weight of the ship. They had finally touched down on Prospero. She would lead the men and women on the ship to meet Magnus she had decided. If things did go South and a fight broke out she would at least give them a chance to escape...hopefully.
She slowly made her way down the open gap where the ramp descended. Raising a small green clawed hand she covered her eyes from the sun, taking a moment to adjust.
She looked round, noticing everything. New buildings and construction work ongoing, a sign of expansion. Large guns for planetary defence, guns that she had never seen in such a scale before. Far larger than anything the Republic Navy had to offer on their cruisers or battleships. A heavy thud like step drew her attention.
It was a droid. A momentous droid. With one arm as a chainsaw and the other a smaller gun when compared to the planetary defence ones, but still large enough for her to walk down the barrel. Smaller guns piled out of its crimson carapace and its blue eye lights shone down at her. Almost as if it was evaluating her.
"I am knight Orpheus, and I will be escorting you" It spoke in a loud boom. The speakers projected a human voice, with a slight mechanised sound. Distorting it slightly. "Get in the Thunderhawk in front of you and go down the main road, I will follow you to Magnus" It once again spoke.
Yaddle furrowed her brows and nodded, she would rather not annoy the giant robot after all. The 'Thunderhawk' infront of her did not look safe. It was akin to a brick with wings and some engines attached. A heavily armed brick looking at the weapons attached she commented inwardly.
"Come along, we shouldn't keep them waiting" Yaddle spoke to her entourage as they filed into the craft. The rumble of the engines took her by surprise, it was far louder than what she was accustomed to. 'Perhaps this world is slightly less advanced then, after all I saw the soldiers and guards holding slug-throwers' she thought. Highlighting inwardly something that she could use to negotiate.
The ride was short, and the knight kept up surprisingly, shocking her slightly. And as the ship touched down she was met with another man. A hooded man in scarlet and gold patterned robes. He gave of the same feeling Yaddle had sensed, although to a much lesser degree. Yaddle inspected him as he approach. 'Quiet steps, straight posture, hands clenched, no weapon'. That was her observation, and to her it meant this was likely to be a religious figure or scholar of some kind.
"I am Librarian Cholo" he spoke, surprising all present. A librarian had been sent to meet diplomats. "I will be leading you to Magnus, please follow me." he spoke as his eyes glinted. He chanted something softly, just quiet enough for Yaddle to not hear but she felt it. The world around them twisted slightly, as the ground lit up. She looked down and saw a mix of runes carved into the stone, each glowing now. Then it happened, the space in front opened into a circle, and he walked through slowly while saying " please hurry, he wishes to start soon". He then disappeared through the portal.
Yaddle hesitated, but if he went through then so would she. "Come along now, we shouldn't keep them waiting" she spoke as she stepped into the blue portal.
Magnus POV:
I stood in the meeting room faced way from the U shaped table in the middle. My posture was immaculate, showcasing my strength. Back straight. Hair straight. Arms held behind my back clenched into a fist and encased by my other hand. I exuded strength physically, and any sort of prove using the force would expose the demented strength of my layover powers. I glanced towards the wall, a clock slowly ticking away each second. Thankfully Star Wars had a standard time, sixty seconds to a minute, sixty seconds to an hour and as many hours are needed to each day. These made time still normal for me, and far easier than adjusting to something peculiar like the French almost created at their revolution.
I felt the portal rip open. The librarian had led the jedi to the room and were about to enter. I needed to make an impact with them, something memorable but not too impactful, revealing too much too early would draw Palpatine and his master my way.
I turned to face the door as it slid open, the librarian ushered the small jedi in, Yaddle I seemed to remember. I knew little of her, but then again I knew little of jedi beyond their names and some things they did.
I looked over the other men in the room, likely a pilot and some security assigned to her. I nodded at them as they sat and looked towards me. I intimidated them, as always when people first meet me.
"Welcome to Prospero" I spoke slowly and clearly, my words reverberating around the room. The man in the pilot uniform opened his mouth to speak back, but a look from Yaddle had him close it almost instantly.
Yaddle wanted to speak first it would seem. She paused and looked at me, considering what words to say. She finally spoke. "It appears you have a thriving world in the outer-rim, right under the nose of the senate. Have you not made any contact with it?" Yaddle asked me. The librarian in the room swiftly left at this point, he was not needed.
"If I did, what would we get? Empty promises of support?" I mocked back, and before she could truly understand the insult I gave her I clarified it further. "This world is built by freed slaves, I cannot spare a single hand at this point to send hundreds to the senate to petition for a seat for a choice in new laws. We can not afford to play politics while we have the threat of slavers and pirates." I spoke. My passion exuding from each syllable, enrapturing the pilot and guards. Yaddle simply listened and nodded her head in understanding.
Was this how Horus felt? A few words and people join your cause and agree? Or at the least understand my point. It was what made him so powerful in my opinion. Looking back at my three combined knowledges, it is a powerful ability to sway others to your side.
"Understand this, we all do, but would it not be best to request aid from the Republic and Jedi? We would come to aid as soon as it came as a request" Yaddle spoke with compassion, something Jedi mostly lacked in my opinion.
"In the end, slavery still exists, and while a peaceful option exists, I doubt it would work here." I stated to her. She nodded slowly, then looked out the window carved into the room over the growing city.
"You have done very well for a group so small, there are worlds with larger populations that don't develop like this." She said. It seemed to me as if she was attempting to flatter me, gauge my reaction and see what kind of person I am as a ruler.
"It is not a single effort. Each man and women bled for their freedom, and came here to build their own life. They succeeded, and we helped eachother to rise and stand above our previous position. Now we stand on the precipice of true freedom." My words enhanced with my abilities, flowing freely into each of their minds. The guards and pilot were enraptured. Yaddle too seemed to like it judging by the smile on her face.
"I would like to see more of this city, if you don't mind." She asked.
Kori POV:
Kori stood on the bridge of her ship the Ahzek, looking down at the drones working on their respective stations. The ship was the main heart of the fleet, giving commands out to the bridges of each other and commanding the forces from the sky. There were only a small amount of living forces, the rest were combat droids and reinforcements Magnus had teleported onto the ship. 'Rubrics' he called them. Near sentient suits of armour, and it unnerved her to witness them. Thousands stood in perfect formation around the drop pods to go down to the planet below.
She looked at the scanners. A pirate stronghold, with a shaky link to Jabba at best but one that was still there. He would feel it in his pockets, if his fat slug body had any at least she thought.
She gave the command with a single button. Orbital bombardment of the shipyard. The scans showed no slaves or bystanders in the area, and now she could remove it.
The central laser fired down crushing the atmosphere before it. It hit hard and every ship around it was almost instantly disintegrated into a smouldering pile of wreckage and debris. The ship slowly entered orbit after the smoke cleared. An awe inspiring ship of colossal size, dwarfing the whole base of operations.
The drop pods fell next. Indomitus pattern terminators flowed out of the pods after they crashed into the ground. Opening fire on every pirate in sight. Bolters sending shots every direction, plasma blasts being fired into the building and the rubrics slowly advancing. Crushing any and all resistance.
While most pirates died in the initial assault, some survived with wounds. Grievous wounds, but still alive. They would need to be retreated she thought to herself. Her thunderhawk slowly descended to the battlefield, with each moment the sounds of war grew louder.
With the thunderhawk touching down she stepped out. A rubric stood either side with bolters ready to fire. She was safe next to them. She walked forwards and made her way up to the stations main building, the assault was over now. They had won. There was no other option than total victory. The building was run down and smelt of smoke and alcohol. A pirates den by all means.
She continued forwards, towards the storage bays. Cargo could be taken, and spare ships can be taken too. Then she looked forwards again. Slave pens. This whole war got more complicated as she saw it and thought to herself. She now needed to safeguard these people on the ships or send them to Prospero.
So i'm back now. Work has finished for the holidays so hopefully I'll be writing more.
I have some ideas for the plot at this point, Naboo will happen soon, then after that everything sort of gets thrown out the window. The clone wars will happen but slightly different. Then after that I'm going to go with a multiverse stuff maybe. I don't know where I'll send Magnus but it won't be too much in terms of things he does.
Anyways, see you all soon.
