Chapter III

Finding Out

Several days after Hinata's outburst, she finally decided to go and apologize to Naruto for hitting him. She even decided to clean up his apartment for him too.

As she knocked on his door, Naruto looked over his drawings. It was a way to examine the work he had done and ways he could make it better. He heard the knock though so he quickly hid the drawings in his closet. "I got it." He said as he opened the door. "Hey Hinata, why are you here?"

Hinata blushed a deep shade of red. "I-I just wanted to say I'm s-sorry for h-hitting you. I-I didn't k-know it was y-you." "It's alright, I'm not too bothered by it anyways." Naruto said as he flashed his foxy grin.

In truth his smile was to hide his blush that threatened to form on his face. But it also helped him hide his pain too. Hinata loved that smile on his face. It lightened her mood even when her father was furious.

"I-I can c-clean your apartment for you." Hinata stammered out. At this Naruto flinched violently and even lost color in his face. "Umm it's alright Hinata, I can clean it myself." "N-no I insist on cleaning it." Naruto finally looked lost. 'How can I possibly resist her when she blushes like that?' He thought to himself.

"Fine, just don't worry about the closet. Anyways I gotta go on a mission, later." And with that, Naruto was gone. Hinata blinked twice before she stepped in and saw the mess that was Naruto's apartment. She giggled a little bit to herself. Naruto was always messy and he didn't know how to clean his apartment really well.

But that was one of the things she loved about him. In some sort of strange way, Naruto's mess was kinda way to show that he really needed someone in his life. He had no parents or other family as far as anyone knew so it made sense.

Hinata started her job in the kitchen. Washing pots and pans, the one bowl and spoon Naruto had, chopsticks, straightening up the cabinets and fridge, sweeping and mopping the floor, and washing the one window in the kitchen.

Then she moved to the bathroom. She quickly realized that the washer and dryer were in there as well so she had to clean his clothes and make sure they were ready to be folded.

Next she cleaned the shower, straightened up the sink and vanity, put a fresh towel on the rack, cleaned the toilet (which was clearly never washed correctly), and swept and mopped the floor. Then she moved to the living room and cleaned everything up in there.

After that, she moved to the bedroom and made sure everything was cleaned and neat.

The last area to clean was the hallway and closet. She had just straightened up the hallway when she opened the closet. "Good grief Naruto-kun, what's all in here, a box? Feels pretty heavy, might need to check what's inside." Hinata said to herself as she laid the box down on the floor to open it.

When she did, she froze. What she saw staring into the box was paper and a dozen pencils, but the first thing that caught her eye was a drawing that was the most beautiful thing Hinata had ever seen.

The drawing was a girl with long hair doing an exercise on a training stump. The drawing itself was so perfect that even the splinters of wood that were in the air had the grains present, even the smallest splinters. The girl's hair was caught in individual strands and her face was covered in specks of dirt and sweat from her hard training. Even her jacket showed where dirt was present.

Hinata couldn't see the girl's face but she could tell that she was dead set focused at the task at hand. Even the girl's Byakugan was active and every vein was shown in perfection.

It was then that it hit her. That girl in the drawing was her. Her shock was enough to make her do a double take. Sure enough, it was in fact her.

Hinata set that drawing aside and found that the next picture, though not nearly as perfect was damn good near to perfection from the first one. It was her when she was a genin, holding a white lily in her hands with a smile on her face.

She looked at all the drawings in that box and every single one of them was of her or her and Naruto. Nothing perverted, but more of precious memories that she had.

She looked at them all over again and she couldn't help but feel like she was so precious to him. He had an entire box dedicated to her in forms of drawings. She searched for another box to see if there was anything of his crush on Sakura, only to find that he had that one box.

After going through every single inch of space in the apartment, Hinata realized that she was the only one who had an entire box dedicated to her.She quickly put all of the boxes back into the closet before Naruto could discover that she had been through there. The last thing she wanted was for Naruto to find out that she had gone through his things. Unfortunately, it didn't stop her from fainting. This left Naruto confused about the whole situation. But seeing the girl he liked unconscious made his heart race and he made sure she was in the hospital before anyone could count to sixteen.

After making sure that Hinata was safe, Naruto went and had a nice, hot bowl of ramen. It was a way to congratulate himself on his supposed accomplishment. But that left him wondering what exactly triggered Hinata to faint. This would be a mystery that he had to resolve, but later once he had more evidence.
