While on Iota Geminorum IV, Uhura picks up a furry little tribble. Harmless? Jim and the crew stop on Ogus 1 for some recreation after several weeks of running into bounty hunters. They discover that there is a 25000 credit bounty out on Jim Kirk, and that is enough to bring any bounty hunter out, including one particularly dangerous, and familiar, one.

Jim Kirk and the crew are sent to negotiate a peace treaty between the Denobulans and the Antarans who have been warring for years. Jim's first encounter does not turn out well, but he is not ready to give up, and finds himself in the middle of a controversy that no one is sure what the true cause, or solution, is.

James Kirk and his crew enjoy a week of vacation on a planet that is a lot like earth. However, as their time ends there, they find that their hosts have a sinister plan, and it begins with kidnapping Jim. They end up on a hostile planet where the main goal of everyone, except the "hunters", is to get off the planet, and they will do whatever is necessary to accomplish their goal.
