The wind whipped behind a figure as they sprinted from rooftop to rooftop. The figure arrived at a shak looking to be converted to a living space. passing by the window pane before stopping by the front door. "knock, knock, knock. HICCUP, ITS KONOHAMARU, NARUTO SAID TO WAKE YOU UP. SO WAKE UP. Bye." Konohmaura scurried off leaving with a proud smile on his face thinking his mission was a complete success. Inside the shack the recipient of the message grudgingly lifted his head from his desk letting a paper fall back onto his desk, filled with blueprints and letters.

Restoration of the Hidden Leaf was going better than expected. After the fight with Pain or rather Nagato, we should say, Hiccup and Naruto had begun slowly growing accustomed to being the talk of the town (in a good way this time). They are called heroes of the Hidden Leaf, but as much as the praise was excellent, Hiccup, unlike Naruto, who seemed to glow in the glory, began to find it uncomfortable. Who wouldn't, after all? You spent almost your entire life being glared at with distrust and whispered about behind your back and it is not always so easy to forget.

But now is not the time to sulk about how things used to be; now is the time to work on restoring the village to its full strength. "I should deliver these plans to the builders. They will be able to take care of the rest." Hiccup dressed in his traditional Uchiha garb, dark green sleeveless turtleneck that flowed down to his knees. With a black short-sleeved shirt underneath, brown pants, standard issue headband, and sandals. Hiccup stepped out of his bunk house, where his old home used to be. After putting the schematics in one of his pouches, he stretched his aching muscles. "Kurotsuchi might be right. I shouldn't stay up so late all the time." Hiccup began to run through the village past shops, villagers, and scaffoldings. "SIGH. But the builders need these plans to restore the village so I guess it can't be helped."

After the fight with Nagato, it was unanimous among many clans that Hiccup be a part of the restoration process. Many of his inventions (the ones that worked anyway) helped to ease the labor for many villagers. That is why the sleep deprived Jinjuriky has plans to begin work at the Hospital and the Hokages office.

"HEY, HICCUP UP HERE." Hiccup skidded to a halt and looked in the direction of the voice, only to find his brother in all but blood and fellow Jinjuriky, Naruto Uzumaki. Accompanying him were his fellow team members. Sakura, Sia, and team seven leader Kakashi.

They all jumped from a rooftop to the street in front of Hiccup. "Naruto, how's it going, buddy?" Naruto gave him a fox grin and a fist bump.

"It's going alright. We just got back from escorting a bunch of builders from the land of waves. They volunteered to help us when they found out what happened."

Kakashi spoke with pride at the memory of his son and nephew. "It seems they haven't forgotten you both, saving them from Gatso and his control over their village."

"It wasn't just us, uncle Kakashi; we all had a part in saving them." Kakashi smiled under his mask. That's Hiccup for you, always the modest one. Even after all these years.

Sai spoke up, "Where are you going now, Hiccup?"

"I was going to deliver the plans for constructing the Hokages office and the Hospital."

Sakura visibly lights up upon hearing this. "That's great! A lot of the medical ninjas are having difficulty caring for villagers and rationing supplies."

"That's exactly why the elders tasked me with creating blueprints for them." Hiccup pulled the folded papers from his pouch pocket and showed them to the group.

Kakashi spoke up, fully understanding how important it was for his nephew to fulfill his responsibilities. "Well, try to find us later. I'll be treating us to some ramen."

"Wow, really? Alright then, I'll be quick. See you guys around." With that, Hiccup continued his trek leaving behind the group.

Sai looked at Naruto. "Naruto, does Hiccup have the same obsession for ramen as you do?" Everyone chuckles.

"No, Hiccup's favorite food is seafood."

Sakura interjected, "I don't think anyone loves ramen as much as Naruto does, Sai."

'All right, I'll drop off the plans for the Hospital first, then meet with the elders for the Hokages office.' As Hiccup made it to the grounds, he knew who to pass on the plans to. "Hey mister Tazuna over here."

"Ah Hiccup my boy it's good to see you again, how are you fairing?" Tazuna was the builder Hiccup, Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke and Kakashi escorted to the land of waves. He appears to not have changed much other than his beard being slightly longer.

"I'm doing well, how are Inari and Tsunami doing?"

"They're doing great, Tsunami said you all are welcome back anytime. And Inari is here now but he's working on another project. By the way, do you still have the crossbow Inari gave you?"

Hiccup rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment. "I did, but it broke in a battle during my time with my father in the Barbaric Archipelago."

Tazuna's faces morphed from happy to sad for a moment. He had met Stoick before they left on their father's journey. Tazuna had liked Stoick sense they met them on their journey, he found him to be a honorable man. His heart went out to Hiccup, but Inari was there for him. After all Inari knows what it was like to lose a father.

Inari took it upon himself to try and cheer up Hiccup while he stayed with them in wave country. It was as if Inari was trying to repay Hiccup for the time he and Naruto saved not only his mother but their entire village. So, it was the only thing Inari could do.

"Well, it was hardly a battle weapon but I'm sure Inari will be glad it helped you in your journey. Oh, and Hiccup from everything I have heard I know your father would be proud."

Hiccup bowed "Thank you Tazuma."

Finally, Hiccup arrives at the temporary Hokages' office, where the village elders reside while Lady Tsunade is recovering. Hiccup walked in, put a fist over his heart, and bowed deeply. "Dear elders, I have the plans for the new Hokages' office." Hiccup placed the plans on the table in front of Koharu and Homura. They began to examine the blueprints and grinned and nodded in approval.

Both elders looked at each other briefly before looking back at him. Homura looked at Hiccup. "These plans are excellent, Hiccup; we shall work on these immediately."

"Uhm, actually, elders may put in a request?"

"Of course. What is it?" Koharu responded.

"Uhh, well, if possible, can we postpone work on the Hokage's office and instead focus on the Hospital? That way, we have the care for the villagers under better control before proceeding with any further projects." That caught them off guard, but it was not an unwelcome request.

This time Koharu was the one to speak up. "Very well, we will prioritize the hospital instead."

Hiccup smiled happily. "Thank you, dear elders."

But the smile on Homura and Koharu's faces faded immediately. "However, we have one more mission for you, and I'm afraid this one is far more dangerous. It involves Danzo."

"Danzo?"

Homura spoke next. " Yes, you see, there is a five-Kage summit in the land of Iron. Due to the Akatsuki's activities, the Kages from all five villages agreed to meet."

"Wait, all Kages? But Lady Tsunade is still recovering."

Koharu nodded "Yes, that's why we wanted you here." Homura flashed several hand signs and all the doors and windows shut, leaving them in a soundproof barrier.

"Listen carefully. Danzo has become the temporary leader by his own will, not the people's. He is only using this moment to cement himself as the Hokage, but he has no intention of relinquishing power, no matter how minimal it is. So that is why we are asking only the most capable shinobi to kill him...You."

Hiccup was shocked. Not over Donzo being power-hungry, but if instated as Hokage, he would be nothing less than a tyrant. But having to kill someone was something he always tried to avoid; sure, he's killed people before, but it was only out of self-defense or to preserve the life of someone he cared for deeply. "By the sound of it. It's not a mission I can refuse."

"No, I'm afraid not. If we tried to have anyone else do this, they would fail. Only you and Naruto are strong enough to complete this mission, and we already know how Naruto feels about taking a life, so the only one we have left to entrust this task to, is you."

The room was silent for what felt like hours but was only a minute or two. "I'll do it." Hiccup said in a graphed voice.

"Very good; we would like you to leave immediately. It would be best for you to take your dragon. We also want you to take this scroll and show it to the man in charge of the summit. his name is Mifune. Make sure he reads it, and after, he will understand and support you."

"...Ok, is there anything else I should know?" Koharu looked at Homura, who silently nodded.

"Yes, there is. We have heard rumors that your cousin Sasuke Uchiha has joined the Akatsuki."

Hiccup's breath hitched and his heart stopped. 'Sasuke joined the Akatsuki, but how and why?'

"Listen, Hiccup, we understand this is hard for you, but you mustn't tell anyone, especially Naruto. We can't risk losing you two to either Donzo or Akatsuki. Do you understand?"

"Y-yes, I understand..."

"Good. Gather whatever you need, leave as soon as possible, and be careful."

" I will." As Hiccup stood up to leave, Homura released the barrier, but she spoke up before he left.

"For what it's worth Hiccup, we're sorry." Hiccup didn't say a word. He straightened his shoulders and left.

Unknown to them a large white dog that was caught in the barrier heard everything and ran back to his master. Hiccup, not wanting to get stopped by anyone, teleported back to his residence and gathered everything he needed. 'Alright, time to find Toothless and get out of here before anyone sees me.' Hiccup teleported to the top of the Hokage monument, where Toothless was on the head of the fourth Hokage.

Toothless had grown annoyed with the noise from the village and had made it a habit to nap on the monuments when he wasn't with Hiccup on missions. " Hey bu-" Hiccup didn't get a chance to finish his sentence before his dragon sibling began giving him an unwanted tongue bath. "UUhhhgggrrr Toothless, you know that doesn't wash out." Toothless laughed dragon-like while his rider shook off the spit on his clothes.

After shaking off a suitable amount of spit, Hiccup checked Toothless' tail and harness, and after everything was in check, the two took off to the land of Iron. When the two reached a comfortable altitude, Hiccup began to wonder.

'Killing Danzo, he is a highly influential person with many loyal followers. But his Root program was disbanded, so technically, he's been going against the village since Lord third, so technically, what I'm about to do is justified.'

Hiccup closed his eyes and put his hands in a ram seal. There was someone he needed to talk to. Hiccup opened his eyes to find himself in an all too familiar place. It was like a damp sewer with pipes on the ceiling and water dripping off the wall. "Hey, big guy, how are you?" A deep chuckle emanated from a large gate with a seal on the lock. A pair of white tusks followed by the creature to which they were attached. The eight tails Bewilderbeast.

"I am intrigued; what bothers you, boy?" Hiccup looked down, trying to find the right words to explain. But the King of dragons already knew of his situation. "Let me guess. You are hesitant to end the life of this Danzo character?"

"Yes, even though he has time and again defiled the name of peace using methods that would make anyone's stomach churn. I still can't help but wonder if doing so would make anything right. I have fought in war. I have taken lives much to my anguish. But for some reason I feel that if I go and kill Danzo now, nothing will come from it. Only more death and mistrust."

"That is not the only thing that troubles you, is it?"

Sigh. "No, there is someone else who is troubling me. It is Sasuke, my cousin."

"I thought you had made it clear you wanted to try and save him, correct?"

"Yes, but now things have changed. Sasuke has joined the Akatsuki and has already kidnapped the former eight tailed Jinchuriki."

The King growled. "Yes, this does complicate things. But ask yourself, boy, how far are you willing to go to save someone who is trying to burn the same world you are trying to protect? If you had the power to save him, you would have already done so by now. Just as you saved countless others. The only thing that you must remember is that having the power to save someone doesn't mean you have the strength to change their hearts. No one has that power but themselves."

Hiccup was about to argue with the king, but Hiccup knew he was right. After all, how could you argue with something that was proven true before your very eyes?

FLASHBACK

It was the final showdown with Drago Bludvist. It was Hiccup, and his father, Stoick, who had almost won the day. Drago's army was defeated, and the people of the Archipelago would be free.

"Dad, wait, maybe we don't have to kill him. Maybe he will listen to the reason now that his army is defeated." Stoick continues to walk with his axe raised and Sharingan blazing.

"No, son. Men who kill without mercy cannot be reasoned with." Stoick was a few feet away from Drago, ready to deliver the killing blow, when Hiccup jumped with his arms spread out, blocking him. "Hiccup, what are you doing? Get out of the way."

"No, it's not too late, dad. He can change just like Dagur and Alvin."

While Hiccup and Stoick were bickering, Drago lifted himself onto his elbows and knees, looked up, and grinned when he found his hook spear. He slowly reached, took it in his hand, and spoke gruffly, " First rule of being a shinobi is never to turn your back TO THE ENEMY."

Stoick dropped his axe and reached for his son; "HICCUP!" Hiccup turned his head only to see the weapon already in motion.

The sound of steel, ripping flesh, and cutting bone were all he could hear. Hiccup stood there waiting for the pain to race through him, but there was nothing. Instead, he felt a drip on the top of his forehead. Drip... drip... drip... Hiccup slowly looked up. The spear intended for HIM was now jutting out of Stoick's chest. "D... da...dad?"

Stoick coughed up blood. "Son, listen to me. Protect our people. It is your destiny." Drago then ripped the spear out of Stoick's chest, and he fell back, facing the sky.

"Damn, I missed . Oh well, I was hoping to kill him last. But beggars can't be choosers. Now that your poor excuse of an Uchiha father is dead. You're next brat." Hiccup didn't respond; he just kept staring at Stoick's body.

The world became deft to his ears as his vision began to tunnel. "Y... you... You killed him." Drago stood up and looked back with a menacing grin on his face. " ...You... killed... him. You... monster, ...heartless... BASTARD." Hiccup started to become enveloped in a bright red aura. His features began to morph; his teeth become sharp and jagged like a piranha, and his hair began to flow back like a lion's mane and turn white. His eyes turned into reptile slits, and he started to exhale puffs of cold air.

Drago began to step back. "What the hell are you?" The air began to grow colder, frost began to envelop the ground around them. The aura surrounding him began to morph, giving him four tails, all of which looked to have two fins.

Drago realized the danger he was in now. "No, I...it can't be you are the eight-tailed dragon jinjuriki." Hiccup's body, by this point, was no longer surrounded by chakra like a cloak. Now it was covering him like it was his skin. Hiccup could no longer control the power that flowed through him. He could only think of one word "kill." Hiccup slowly opened his mouth, and a small ball began to grow. "No, you're going to sink this whole island." Drago began to run for the beach. But he didn't make it ten feet before his body collapsed from chakra exhaustion. Drago began to crawl away but as soon as he lifted himself over a slab of ice he saw in its reflection; Hiccup in his possessed state, ready to fire. Drago could only look at his impending doom. "No, this can't be. I was supposed to be the one the prophecy spoke of." He could only watch as Hiccup fired the tailed beast bomb.

The room was dark save for a dim light that emanated from the corners of the room. "You are not ready to control my power."

After hearing those words, Hiccup woke up drowning in the sealing chamber holding the Eight-tailed in his body. 'What the hell? I can't breathe.' Hiccup began to look for an air pocket; as he panicked, the water around him started to recede to its original ankle-deep level. He filled his lungs, thinking he narrowly avoided drowning. "Why did you do that? I could have died." The eight-tailed beasts emerged behind the gate.

"Yes, you could have, and I'm sure a part of you wanted to."

Hiccup was going to retort with his infamous sarcasm Jutsu but remembered what had caused him to lose himself. "No, it's all my fault." He fell to his knees before the King of dragons as tears began to fall from his eyes. "It's all my fault. What have I done?"

The King closed his eyes and let him grieve before speaking. "You did what you always tried to do. You tried to save him, but his heart has become cold, and his eyes have been blinded by darkness and greed."

Hiccup clenched his fists so hard he started to bleed. "Why? What caused him to become so evil?"

The King let out a long breath. After living for so long, that was a question he still couldn't answer. "I don't know; perhaps it is...because he had no one to save him or maybe that is just the way of man."

Hiccup dried his tears and looked up at the Bewilderbeast. "Wh... what do I do now?"

"Your father has already told you what to do. You must protect your people. Honor his dying wish." Hiccup knew he was right. He can't quit now, not when he has so many people that need him.

He picked himself up and looked the King in the eyes. "I will."

Hiccup opened his eyes and realized he was back in the real world. He tried to stand up but couldn't, not without a great deal of pain. Instead, he tried moving his head to look around. When he did, he saw the aftermath of what he had done. The entire beachhead covered in Dragos men and ships had become destroyed, leaving almost nothing.

"Hiccup," a weak and raspy voice eked out beside him.

"Dad." Hiccup swiveled his head, looking for Stoick until he found him.

"Hiccup." Stoick's voice sounded weaker.

"Dad" Hiccup, despite the pain shooting throughout his whole body, began to crawl on his elbows. "Dad, I'm here." As soon as Hiccup stood on his knees, looming over Stoick's side, Hiccup began to cry again as he tried to heal him.

"I'm sorry, Dad. I'm so sorry." As Hiccup let his tears flow again, Stoick reached up and held his son's hand. "It's all right, son...I don't blame you." Stoick gathered his strength and looked up at him. "Hiccup... never forget there is no greater gift than love." Stoick looked into his son's eyes. They were blazing red with the Mangekyo Sharingan."Hiccup You have had the Mongekyo sharingan for a long time... but you will go blind if you continue to use it... take my eyes, son. You have already surpassed me... my role as your father and my promise to your mother... has been fulfilled." Hiccup grabbed his father's hand tighter, feeling Stoik's grip loosen.

"Hic…up."

"I'm here, dad. I'm right here."

Stoick blinked through his tears. "Hiccup, I am proud to call you, my son." Stoick then smiled at his son and slowly closed his eyes.

"No. no no, dad... dad ... DAAAAD."

The ceremony for the fallen had taken all day, and now all the dead were laid on numerous ships, ready to sail out to sea. "We are here to honor these warriors who gave their lives to end the tyranny of Drago Bludvist, A demon in human skin. But we must also remember one great warrior who came with his son to our lands, and with their help, we could fight Drago and win. He may not have been born in these lands, but he had proven himself to be just if not more of a Viking than anyone. Stoick the Vast. May the valkyries welcome you and lead you through Odin's great battlefield. May they sing your name with love and fury so that we might hear it rise from the depths of Valhalla and know that you've taken your rightful place at the table of kings. For a great man has fallen: A warrior. A shinobi. A father. A friend. Farewell to you and all who sail with you into the afterlife."

Hiccup felt hopeless with the bandages over his eyes. 'I'm sorry I can't send you off myself, dad, forgive me.'

"Arrows ready."

He could hear bows being drawn even over the waves hitting the rocky cliff below him.

"Fire."

The smell of the ocean became briefly overwhelmed by the smell of burning wood from the funeral ships.

All Hiccup could do was gently touch the bandages over his eyes. Stoick, even being a shinobi, had always wanted a Viking funeral. His wish was to be put to rest like his ancestors were centuries ago; it was his way of honoring them."Protect your people." Those words fell from Hiccup's lips one more time. But not before swearing to himself that he will do whatever it takes to protect everyone he loves.

Flashback ends

"Protect your people. Do you remember, boy?" Hiccup returned from his senses and looked back to the Bewilderbeast.

"I do. But how can I stop Sasuke from becoming like Drago?"

"Perhaps you are not meant to be the one who saves him?"

"What do you mean?"

The Bewilderbeast let out another deep breath. "If you truly want others to turn from their wicked ways. It would be best if you first let them realize the wrong they are doing and let them return to the light of their own accord. Just like with that man named Alvin and your friend Dagur along with others."

"But he and I are the only ones left of our clan. What if he never sees the light?" The King lowered his head to better look at Hiccup.'I can't give up now, not when there is still a chance to save Sasuke before he does something beyond crazy,'

"Thank you, my Lord. I think I understand." Hiccup bowed deeply to show his gratitude toward the dragon.

"Before you go, boy, keep this in mind. It's not impossible, only improbable." Hiccup nodded before finally leaving his inner subconscious.

Toothless grumbled and whined, trying to get Hiccup's attention and wanting to know what to do after arriving at the land of Iron. "Oh, sorry, bud. Talking with the big guy took longer than I thought."

Hiccup reached into one of his pouches and pulled out a map with the location he needed to get to. He pulled out the ticking thing. The ticking thing was a watch that doubled as a compass. Ever since Hiccup found it in the Barbaric Archipelago, he never goes anywhere without it.

"Alright, bud, we're almost there; no doubt the Kage summit will start soon. All we need to do is get into the castle and find a way to pass this message to the guy overseeing it. That way, there is no misunderstanding." Toothless let out a roar of agreement before flying even faster toward their destination.

After an hour of flying past mountains tops and trees Hiccup and Toothless stood overlooking the Summit building, contemplating how to proceed quietly. "Sneaking in there isn't going to be easy, bud, but I have a plan."

"I hope your plan doesn't involve trying an aerial insertion." Hiccup and Toothless spun their heads around to see a familiar friendly face.

"Anko sensei? What are you doing here?" Anko stood perched on a tree branch above him.

"How's it going, kid?" Anko jumped down to meet Hiccup.

"I'm fine, but my question still stands. What are you doing here?" Anko reached behind her and pulled out a mission scroll."Danzo put a hit out on you. Since when?" Anko handed him the scroll, and Hiccup began to read it.

"Since he elected himself Hokage. I found out after one of his goons tried to take me out."

"So let me get this straight. He unjustly elects himself Hokage and then tries to kill one of the leaf's Jonin. Now I know why the elders want me to finish him."

Anko looked at Hiccup with a saddened expression. "Well, that's not the only reason they wanted to do it."

"Huh, what do you mean?"

Anko let out a sigh 'It's now or never'.

"Hiccup, you already know that Itachi was forced to kill your clan, right?"

"Uh ya, I do."

"Then you must know that one of the reasons it happened, to begin with, wasn't just the threat of the coup... You see, Danzo always had a negative view of the Uchiha. He believed they would incite a civil war, and his belief was only made stronger when Itachi told the third Hokage of the coup. Danzo decided he needed to take matters into his own hands. He manipulated Itachi, believing eradicating the entire clan was the only way to avoid a civil war. However, Lord Third and Shisui tried to stop this by finding a more peaceful resolution, which could have been achieved had Danzo not acted on his own. After Danzo took Shisuis's eye, Itachi had no one to trust, and there was no other way to stop the coup. After the massacre, Itachi pleaded for the safety and protection of the last two Uchihas in the village. For you and Sasuke and the rest, you already know."

Hiccup had no words; instead, he only held his head low. The cold wind was the only noise that could be heard between the three. "Why?"

"Huh, why what?"

"Why, sensei? Why did it have to be like this? Why did it have to be the Uchiha? Why did it have to be Itachi? WHY?!"

Anko didn't think she had the best answers for that, but she gave the only answer she thought was right. "Listen, kid, I'll be honest, I don't know why it had to be this way, but I can tell you that the reason it was Itachi who had to do it was that he was the only one out of the whole clan who understood that a civil war would lead to the destruction of the Hidden Leaf. Itachi knew that if he didn't do something and your clan went ahead with their objectives, then the hidden leaf would be vulnerable to attack by other countries, leaving little hope for the leaf to survive. So Itachi did it, knowing that he would never be able to see the village again. He joined the Akatsuki for the same reason. He did it all...to protect the village and both of you. Because you, Sasuke, and the village were all things he loved."

Hiccup felt a tear fall from his face. He knew Itachi was a hero all along but to hear the whole truth left a bitter taste in his mouth. Hiccup choked out, "He did it because he cared." Anko felt the need to hug Hiccup, but as she looked at him, she could see he was composing himself.

Hiccup should have been devastated, but he felt proud. Because of Itachi, Hiccup grew up to become a shinobi; he met many people and made even more friends because Itachi protected the village.

"If Itachi suffered through all that to protect the village, then I won't let his dream become a memory. Now my responsibility as an Uchiha and as a fellow shinobi is to make sure he didn't die in vain, and the best way to do that is to get rid of Danzo." Anko let a smirk creep on her face. 'That's more like it'. Hiccup turned back to face the castle that was holding the summit. "Get ready, Danzo. Your days are numbered."

Anko let out a giggle.

"What's so funny, Sensei?"

"Hehe, oh nothing, it is just that you have come a long way, kid. Who knew there was a shinobi behind all this." Anko then waved her hands over Hiccup to emphasize her point.

"Sensei, you just gestured to all of me." Hiccup just looked at her with his deadpan expression.

"Ya, I know. You should also know that Danzo has two of his most loyal root members with him. They are Torune Aburame, an insect user like Shino, and Fu Yamanaka, a sensory type who, like Torune, isn't to be taken lightly."

"Understood, sensei; anything else?"

" Yes. Something is going on here, Hiccup, something big, and I got a gut feeling you, Naruto, and Sasuke are going to be crucial for what's coming, so... do what needs to be done, but be careful. The sound brats will have my head if something happens to you."

"Yes, sensei, and tell Kin, Zaku, and Dosu not to worry about me. Whatever happens, I will face it head-on, and no matter what, I will protect everyone precious to me because a shinobi protects his own." Hiccup balled his fist and placed it against his heart like he was swearing an oath.'He sure is Stoicks son!' "Hmph, alright then, Hiccup, good luck."

"Thank you, Sensei." Hiccup bowed to Anko as she teleported away. "Alright then, Toothless, it's time to tie up a loose end."

Before Anko surprised him, Hiccup had been surveying the summit building, and now he was grateful Anko had stopped him because the area was covered in booby traps. With his Sharingan, he could see hidden guard posts everywhere. "Well, If I can't sneak in through the roofs or walk through the front door, I will have to go with plan C."

Hiccup bit his thumb Boar, Dog, Bird, Monkey, Ram. "Summoning Jutsu." Having signed the dragon contract, Hiccup could summon any dragon he wanted, and now he knew the exact one for the job.

After the smoke cleared, the spinney and snake-like body of the whispering death wriggled freely as the dragon flapped in place over Hiccup. "Hey, Whisp." The dragon only grunted in acknowledgment but let out an annoyed grunt after noticing Toothless, who was also less than thrilled to see his old adversary.

"Alright, you too, cut the attitude. Listen, Whisp, I need to sneak into that big building behind you. You think you can get me in there quietly?" The whispering death looked toward the castle, looked back at him, and let out a soft snort as if saying, 'too easy.'

Whisp started digging so fast that Hiccup and Toothless couldn't see him through the dust when they looked down. Hiccup and Toothless looked down the hole and then back at each other. "Alright, Toothless, I need you to stay here while I go and take care of Danzo." Toothless let out a croon and gave him puppy dog eyes. "I know you want to come along, bud, but I need you to stay here and out of sight. I know for a fact that Danzo is going to try to run. I will signal you when he does so we can go after him. We'll make him pay, bud, you and me." Hiccup jumped into the hole and ran to catch up with Whisp.

Following Whisp through the tunnel gave Hiccup time to plan further on how exactly to deal with Danzo. If Anko's intel was good, and it always was, then Hiccup would be in for a fight. 'Members of the Root program may be brainwashed drones, but they are not pushovers. I'll have to be careful.'

'The Hallway was clear. It had been clear all day.' These were the thoughts of the samurai stationed to guard the hidden exit that led out to the land of rivers. "Honestly, nothing ever happens here. Why not just put a metal door here instead..." The samurai was shaken out of his thoughts by the walls, floor, and ceiling shaking with the veracity of an earthquake. "W…What the hell?"

Everything just started shaking even more violently. "The place is going to collapse. I gotta get out of here." Above him the ceiling started to crack more and more until a handful of dirt fell on his helmet, causing him to look up. As he did, the roof collapsed, revealing what looked like a spiny eel landing on him. "AAHHHHHH!"

THUD

"Oh no, Whisp, you landed on a maid." The scream after the two broke through the tunnel ceiling was so high; Hiccup was sure he had landed on a woman. Hiccup jumped down from the roof into the tunnel and pushed Whisp off the pedestrian leaving him surprised.

"Wait, that's not a woman. It's a guard. He must have been watching this tunnel." Hiccup had to think; he couldn't leave this guard here. If he woke up, he could raise the alarm, and the whole mission would be over. "Hmmm." Hiccup looked at the samurai, and an idea came to him.

"Alright, Whisp, hide him in the tunnel; I'll signal you in case something happens, ok?" Whisp let out a huff saying, 'you can count on me.' Hiccup stepped out of the shadows wearing the samurai armor that, surprisingly, was light for how much armor it was, even with the golden-brown fur cape on his back. "All right, time to blend in." Hiccup put on the mask and helmet and made his way to the main room.

3 hours before with Naruto.

"WHAT!? What do you say? Sasuke joined the Akatsuki. But how, why?" Kiba shook his head for what felt like the tenth time.

"I'm telling you; I don't know. Everything I told you was what Akamaru was able to hear."

Naruto couldn't believe it, no matter how often he had to be told. "So then, what about Hiccup?"

Akamaru barked three times, explaining what he heard to Kiba. "Akamaru said Hiccup is already on his way to the land of iron."

"BARK, BARK BARK. "

"He also said Hiccup went alone to take out Danzo."

"Well then, we got to go and help him!"

"You are not going anywhere, sonny boy." The two ninjas and Akamaru looked up to see Kakashi and Rin perched on a roof. Kakashi jumped down to meet the two face-to-face.

"I know what you plan to do, Naruto, and I have just one thing to say." Naruto, as if on instinct, clasped his hands together to pray and bowed his head.

"I know what you're going to say, dad, but Hiccup is in danger, and Sasuke is my friend. I..."

"I'm coming with you."

" I know you're gonna... wait, what."

"I said I'm coming with you." Naruto looked up with a deadpan expression, turning his eyes into white blinking orbs.

"Oh great. wait, hold on, is this a trap."

Understanding her son's concern, Rin decided to explain. "No, Naruto, this isn't a trap. We know that you will try to help Hiccup and plead with the Raikage to forgive Sasuke." A blush appeared on Naruto's face realizing he had been found out.

"Well, ya, but how did you know?"

Kakashi gave him his signature eye smile, and Rin giggled. "Because you are Naruto Uzumaki Hatake, our son." Naruto beamed with pride at hearing his parents acknowledge him.

"Right. There is no time to waste. Let's get going."

As Naruto turned to leave, Rin grabbed him by his caller jacket. "Hold your horses. The Land of Iron is practically a tundra; knowing you, you will get into a fight, so pack everything you need."

"But, mom."

"No buts, Go pack."

"Daaad."

"Listen to your mother."

With a low grumble, Naruto did as he was told and made his way back home. Kiba was about to do the same, but "Kiba, where do you think you are going?"

Kiba's sweat dropped. "I-I was gonna head back to help my sister at the medical shelter." "No, you weren't. You would have to be an excellent liar to fool us, and a good liar is something you are not. You were going to tell everyone else what you overheard. Am I correct?"

Busted.

"Listen, Kiba, I understand your concern, but before you go, tell everyone. Give Naruto, Yamato, and myself time to leave the village. That way we can stop the Raikage and try to reason with him. Kiba thought for a moment about it. In his opinion, Sasuke's fate was already sealed when he joined the Akatsuki. "All right. One hour after that, I will tell everyone the news." Like clockwork, Kakashi, Yamato, and Naruto gathered at the leaf gate. Kakashi ran the plan by them one more time. "Alright, time to go. When we get to the land of Iron, we find Raikage and try to convince him to let us handle Sasuke. After that, we head to the summit to give Hiccup support." Yamato and Naruto looked at each other and nodded " Right."

As the group made their way to the land of Iron, Naruto began to wonder what was going through Sasuke's head. Memories of them in team 7 came back like haunting. 'Whatever happens, I won't let Sasuke get killed. I won't lose my friend.'

The air became colder, and snow became more abundant in the area, signaling to the trio that they had entered the land of Iron. They put on simple white cloaks with orange trim over their shoulders, It kept the cold out enough for them to push on.

Yamato looked toward Naruto and Kakashi before speaking, "We're getting close now. Keep an eye out; it's still possible for us to catch the Raikage before he reaches the summit."

"Naruto, listen. I know you want to save Sasuke, but you need to think carefully about how to do this. The Raikage isn't someone who is easily swayed or beaten."

"Grrr, what am I supposed to do then? I can't just do nothing, not when we still have a chance at saving Sasuke." Naruto's voice cracked behind his teeth.

Kakashi understands Naruto wanting to save Sasuke but doing anything rash, especially now, could cause further discourse between the Hidden leaf and the Hidden cloud. In times like this, he wished Hiccup was here to reason with him.

That's just how they were. Naruto would always be the one to run into battle, shouting at the top of his lungs. Hiccup was always the more reserved and cautious. But when it came down to teamwork, those two were unstoppable together. Where Naruto lacked in strategic thinking, he made up for it in strength. Hiccup may not have been the strongest physically, but his logistical mind and ability to think on his feet came second only to the members of the Nara clan.

Those strengths also came with drawbacks. Naruto's reckless attitude often landed him in trouble, and he sometimes barely escaped. Hiccup's over-cautious nature often left him vulnerable and would land him in situations that would be just as dangerous. Hopefully, these two can keep learning from, rather than constantly relying on each other.

Yamato was ahead of them, trying to get a lead using the tracking seeds he planted on the cloud ninjas before they left the Hidden leaf village. "Wait, Kakashi, Naruto. I think I got something. Just up ahead."

Naruto's blood began to boil; how was he supposed to persuade the Raikage to spare Sasuke without causing a further rift between their villages? 'Damnit, what would Hiccup do?'

Just as Yamato predicted, up ahead was Rikage and his entourage. They successfully found him; now they just needed to convince him.

Naruto, Kakashi, and Yamato made themselves completely visible to Raikage and his two bodyguards to show they meant no harm. One had a dark complexion with white hair that hung to his chin and covered one eye like Kakashi. The other was of fairer complexion with blond, arguably shorter hair that was kept from his eyes with the standard Hidden Cloud head protector.

The Riakage's bodyguards took a defensive stance when they asked, "Who are you? State your business immediately." "Wait, C. That guy in the back, that's Kakashi Hatake, the copycat ninja."

"If that's Kakashi Hatake, then they must be Hidden leaf shinobi." "Why do you think they're here ?" "I don't know, Darui, but it looks like we're going to find out."

Kakashi stepped forward and bowed respectfully. "Lord Raikage, please, a moment of your time. This shinobi would like to explain why we have stopped you."

The Rikage looked at them with an annoyed and disapproving look in his eyes. "What could be so important that you would stop me personally on our way to the summit?"

"It is important, sir."

Naruto stood before the Raikage and clasped his hands together and bowed deeply. "I want you to revoke the order to kill Sasuke Uchiha."

The Cloud ninja looked at Naruto with questionable surprise, but the response from the Raikage was anything but. "No."

"Please, I don't want any more bloodshed between our villages if you don't stop this now, then the circle of revenge and hatred won't end, please."

The Raikage only looked down at Naruto with pity and disgust. "I don't want anyone, leaf or cloud, to die for revenge. Please, Raikage, I'm begging you."Naruto fell to his hands and knees, further proving his sincerity. But to the Raikage, it only proved to be a move of futile desperation. The Riakage walked past Naruto, not batting an eye at his plea. Kakashi put his hand on Naruto's shoulder and saw the tears slowly fall from his eyes. "Please, lord Riakage this shinobi, as awkward as he may be, is bowing his head out of respect for the Hidden Cloud and the Hidden leaf. He only wants the chance to save his friend."

The Riakage turned to see Naruto still prostrated in the snow. "He may want to save his friend but a true shinobi would understand that allowing someone like Sasuke Uchiha to remain on the run will only put more people in danger. A true shinobi would understand this and would make the sacrifice of severing that bond to save others. Most importantly, a true shinobi wouldn't have bowed his head so easily. After this summit, Sasuke will be hunted by not only the hidden cloud but all other nations, great and small, and there will be nowhere left for him to hide."

With that declaration, The Raikage and his party resumed their way but not before sparing one last glance at Naruto, who remained in the snow.

Kakashi kneeled and placed his hand on his shoulder. "Come on, Naruto, get up, enough. You don't need to do this anymore."

"My, what a wonderful display of emotion. I would give it a three out of ten." A disembodied voice echoed around the three ninjas.

Naruto shot back up to his feet and immediately stood ready to fight. "I know that voice; it's..." as if out of thin air, a portal emerges with a body falling out of it wearing a long cloak with red clouds. "Madera."

"Oh, so you do know my name already. I'm flattered." Madera made a mocking bow like an actor on a stage receiving a standing ovation. All the while, his Sharingan was staring at them in amusement.

Kakashi had to put an arm in front of Naruto to prevent him from launching himself at the man pulling the Akatsuki strings. "Just what are you doing here? Surely you aren't here to try and take the nine tails?"

Madera chuckled. "Oh no, I'm not here for the tailed beast. But I am here for its junjuruiki. Naruto Uzumaki Hatake, you have piqued my interest. I came to see just who could not only turn Nagato against me but also revive the entire hidden leaf village. But now that I see you in person, I'm surprised and a little disappointed."

Yamato quickly flashed through hands seals " Wood style wood prison Jutsu." Wooden pillars erupted from the ground surrounding Madera, wrapping around him like a straight jacket.

"Please, that won't be necessary." Madera didn't even bother to move. Instead remaining utterly unfazed even with being surrounded.

"Before you try and strike me down, don't you want to know where Sasuke is?"

Naruto, with Kakashi and Yamato, stood a reasonable distance away, not taking any chances with someone like him. "What!? What do you know about Sasuke?"

"I know enough. I know far more than you. For starters, I can tell you the reason why he joined Akatsuki. Of course, doing so would mean I have to tell you about the true motives behind Itachi's actions."

"Everything goes back to Itachi; why?" Naruto's fists tightened, and his teeth clenched. He couldn't get his head around this. Itachi is dead; why didn't Sasuke come back? None of this makes sense.

"Oh, not just Itachi. This circle of hatred goes back centuries, all the way back to the father of shinobi. The Sage of the Six Paths."

Kakashi scoffed upon hearing this. " The sage of the six paths is just a myth."

"Oh no, the sage was real, and Naruto and Sasuke have a powerful connection to him. After all, you two are playing the same game that has been done before. The sage's sons Ashura and Indra, who later created the Senju and the Uchiha clans. Then through those clans came Hashirama and me, who played our parts, and now it's your turn. This is all quite nostalgic; I can't wait to see how this ends."

"Thanks for the history lesson, but how does this tie in with Sasuke not returning to the hidden leaf?" Kakashi spat with venom.

"Hmm, well, for me to tell you the whole story, I'll have to tell you why the Uchiha clan was eliminated, and then you'll understand why Sasuke chose to join me."

Present time

Hiccup turned what felt and found what found himself in what felt like the hundredth hallway. 'How many hallways and corridors does this place have?'

"How much longer before the summit starts?"

Hiccup froze before following the voice. It was coming from further down the hallway. There were two guards who looked to be on break or at least not on guard duty.

"I'm not sure. They were supposed to start a half hour ago, but the Rikage arrived late. I heard he had trouble along the road."

"Do you think it was the Akatsuki?"

"I doubt it. If it were them, the Raikage and his guards would have shown signs of a fight, but they looked clean. If it was the Akatsuki then they are likely dead by now."

"I heard one can phase through anything, even teleport."

"Sounds right; I also heard that there are more members now, and that one is an Uchiha.

"An Uchiha? I thought that clan was eradicated."

" No, last I heard, there were only two left. One is still in the hidden leaf, but apparently, the other went crazy and has been rogue for a few years now."

"Rouge, so he is a missing-nin."

"Ya and get this. He and the rest of the Akatsuki abducted the Rikages' brother Killer B."

Hiccup's heart stopped at this. If Sasuke kidnaped Killer B, then there is almost no chance of saving him from this. 'Sasuke what, have you done?'

"Wait, I thought Kumo lost the eight tails. Shouldn't jinjuriki be dead too?"

"Ya, but they must have done life transfer jutsu as they did with the Kazekage. Everyone knows that if you extract the Bijuu by force, you kill the container. Think of it like life support. You only last until someone pulls the plug on you."

"Wow, that's brutal. Wait, how do you know all this?"

"Oh, Killer B told me."

"What?! How did he tell you this? You said he was captured?"

"Ya he was but he escaped. I guess he didn't return to the Hidden Cloud because they would have just put him under house arrest again. Made me a deal to leave him in the forest to work on his so-called music."

Hiccup couldn't believe it. Killer B escaped the Akatsuki and has been hiding in the woods. That bit of information might come in handy. 'Wait, why did they try to capture him if everyone knows he no longer has the eight-tailed beast?'

After a few more minutes of eavesdropping, Hiccup decided he wouldn't get any more helpful information out of them if he kept wandering this compound as he was. He would never make the summit on time to give the scroll to Mifune.

"Uh, you two, I need your help." Hiccup quickened his pace to make it look like he was on an urgent assignment, and the truth be told he wouldn't be lying.

The guards Hiccup had been listening to for the duration of their conversations turned to meet Hiccup in disguise. "Hey I know you. Saiko, was it? Aren't you supposed to be guarding the entrance to the catacombs?"

" I was, but I was relieved to deliver an urgent message to lord Mefune before the summit can begin. But...er, I kind of forgot where the room is. Do you guys know where it is?"

The guards eyed Hiccup warily, who unbeknownst to them was doing his best to sound as nonchalant as possible. "Uh ya the room is on the next floor up, we're on the basement level."

'Aww why didn't I realize, I'm such an idiot.' Hiccup's shoulders slumped and an aura of depression floated above him. " Hehe. Uh, thanks, guys. I guess I'll be on my way then."

Hiccup followed the guard's directions, leading him directly to a pair of wooden doors with the Kanji for a meeting. Standing before the doors Hiccup found himself feeling apprehensive but he couldn't let his nerves fail him now, not when there was work to be done.

As Hiccup entered the room he saw all five kages surrounding Lord Mifune. There was the Mizukage Mei Terumi, from the hidden mist. Then there was Gaara, the ever stoic Kazekage. On the opposite end of the table was A the Raikage from the village hidden in the clouds and next to him was Onoki the Tsuchikage of the hidden stone village. Hiccup had to suppress the urge to grumble.

In truth, Hiccup didn't hate Onoki but the old man never seemed to tire at annoying Hiccup with condescending mannerisms and always made it very clear that no matter what Hiccup did nothing could impress the old fence sitter.

Anyway, in front of the Kages was lord Mifune who surprisingly was wearing regular purple robes. 'I wonder why he has bandages on his head?'. Lastly, there was Danzo who sat directly in front of Mifune. Hiccup's grip on his katana tightened seeing the old goul. The man who had caused so much pain all for his own form of peace. But what puzzled Hiccup more was that each of the Kages bodyguards was front and center as if an attack had just been attempted.

"You, samurai, why are you intruding on this summit? I thought I ordered you all to patrol for any threats to the kages?" Mifune asked, looking back without standing up from his chair.

"Forgive me, my lord, but I was given instructions to deliver this scroll to you as soon as possible." Hiccup took the scroll and gave it to Mifune before stepping back as he started to read the scroll.

"Hmmm. I see well, as important as this news is, the meeting is already underway. There has been too much wasted time, can we all agree to that?"

"Hai."

"Good, Ao can you check to make sure Lord Danzo's visual Jutsu is no longer in effect."

"No, even his chakra signals are no longer in effect, the Jutsu is undone."

"How shameful of you, Danzo. To think even if you hadn't used that Jutsu, I would have still offered you the position as commander. But seeing as you are not capable of being trusted, that idea is dead."

"Hmph well an offer is not a guarantee. I must do everything in my power to protect the ninja world. You'll never unite the world through discussion. Whether they are regarding morals and ethics, they will affect no change at all."

Hiccup's hand slowly moved up toward the grip of his katana. His temper was beginning to boil again. 'After everything we have done, Danzo, you still believe the ninja world is incapable of trust. Even after everything Naruto and I, even all of Konoha have done.'

"That's the dumbest excuse I have ever heard."

Everyone's eyes averted to Kurotsuchi looking like she was about ready to strangle someone. That person was Danzo. "I beg your pardon, young lady."

"I said that's a giant load of crap. You're saying morals and ethics won't matter? You are living proof you are wrong. If it wasn't for Hiccup and Naruto stopping and defeating Pain and not only that but then convincing him to revive your entire village, you and your bodyguards wouldn't be here. And guess what, they did it all using morals and ethics."

The entire room fell so quiet you could have heard a pin drop. Even Danzo was so dumbstruck by Kunoichi that he couldn't tell if he should be insulted or embarrassed being called out in front of everyone.

Mifune found this moment funny and decided to break the silence with a chuckle. "Well, I never expected this. Onoki, care to explain why your bodyguard knows so much about Konoha's heroes?"

Onoki sighed, feeling embarrassed and a little annoyed. "W-Well Lord Mifune I'm afraid this matter is rather private. But if you wish to know then I will allow my granddaughter to explain."

"Hm, well young lady, care to explain how you know all this?"

Kurotsuchi took a moment to stop staring daggers at Danzo who continued to sit there unmoved with a slight hint of his sweat dripping. "Yes, I know about the Hidden Leaf heroes. Well at least one of them. They have repeatedly proven that morals and ethics are best, especially when someone acts with faith."

Danzo scoffed, "please how can you stand there and enlighten us on something as foolish as faith."

"I know because even the people here have been shown such faith. The Kazekage Gaara, you could have been killed by Naruto after the failed attempt to destroy Konoha, Lady Mizukage, Hiccup Uchiha could have kept or even destroyed the Kiba blades after defeating Kurosuki Raiga and you Danzo," Kurotshuchi turned right back at Danzo with fire in her eyes. "Hiccup and Naruto have not only done these things out of faith, but they also managed to bolster Konoha's forces by convincing a ninja with a rare keke genki and convincing three genin from an enemy village to join the Leaf's ranks. And they, unlike you, did this by staying loyal to themselves."

The whole room went quiet. They didn't expect someone like Kurotuschi to speak with such anger.

Hiccup just stood there in bewilderment. In all the time they had been dating, Kurotuchi almost never lost her temper. 'That's my girl.'

"Enough of this drivel, I'm going after Sasuke Uchiha." The Raikage along with his two bodyguards stormed out of the room in the most peculiar fashion by creating a massive hole in the wall.

"Well now that the Raikage is gone I believe we should continue the matter of discussing who shall be given leadership of the shinobi alliance," Danzo said, acting as if nothing had just transpired.

Mifune, having enough of Danzo's incessant meddling, decided to be done with him accordingly. "Yes, let us continue the matter, but unfortunately Danzo you will no longer be taking part in the discussion. After recent events it has become clear to me that you are not fit to sit in the presence of these village leaders."

Danzo's one good eye opened to stare daggers at Mifune. "I don't believe I understand you, Lord Mifune. Just moments ago, you offered me the position to lead. Now you are treating me as if I am some sort of criminal. What changed?"

Hiccup began to tap his foot on the ground in one's, twos and threes. This may have looked odd to most people, however Hiccup learned a few things about dragons like whispering deaths during his training under Wodensfang on sanctuary island. He learned that some dragons could understand and communicate with humans but not like how dogs bark, or cat's meow, no, some dragons like the Triple Strike and Whispering Death can communicate using morse code. Now all Hiccup had to do was wait for the right time to spring his trap.

Twenty minutes before with Sasuke

"All right, we're in." Sasuke led his group of Karin, Suigetsu, and Jugo, otherwise known as new members of the Akatsuki into a split hallway. "Karin, do you know where Zetsu went off to?"

"I don't detect him anywhere. I think the slime ball decided to finally melt away somewhere else," Karin answered, letting her frustration with their guide known to everyone.

"Looks like you were right Suigetsu. I guess he really wasn't much of a team player after all," Jugo said nonchalantly.

"Ya, I figured he would do something like that. That guy really is a fruitcake."

"It doesn't matter now. All we must do is find Danzo," Sasuke growled, his anger flaring as bright and piercing as his Sharingan.

"Quick, sound the alarm. Sasuke Uchiha has infiltrated the summit building!" A guard shouted from one of the many corridors.

"Well, I guess we know what that phasing plant is doing now. He was too busy alerting everyone here while we wandered in circles." Suigetsu's sarcasm was ever prevalent but unwarranted at this moment.

"Suigetsu, will you shut up? This is not the time." Karin all but popped a blood vessel shouting at him.

"The plan remains the same, find and eliminate Danzo. Anyone who tries to stand in our way, will be cut down without mercy."

Back in the meeting chamber the room remained quiet as everyone simply waited for someone to make a move. Mifune's patients were beginning to run thin. "What I am saying, Danzo, is that it has become clear to me and others here that you are not capable of being a part of this alliance, let alone leading it."

Danzo started to become uncomfortable, and he could tell the wind was no longer blowing in his favor. "I can assure you Lord Mifune that I am more concerned about the ninja world than most people here."

"Hmph, well if you are so concerned about the ninja world then perhaps you could explain to me how exactly you took the mantle as Hokage. Because to become Hokage there must be a vote between the villagers and the council, correct?"

Danzo's eyes narrowed and his curiosity peaked. "What exactly are you getting at Mifune?"

"What I am trying to say, Danzo, is that it has been revealed to me that you have usurped your village council and have taken power for yourself. This scroll that has been brought to me is an order for your arrest by your village elders."

"Surely there must be some mistake as I have done nothing but ensure the hidden leaf village is in the hands of strong leadership. It just so happens that the only one who can ensure proper leadership is myself. I can confidently say to you it is only a convenient turn of events that I have taken the Hokages mantle, I assure you."

"Well as convenient as it may be to you. Too much has transpired for me to simply ignore it. Guard please restrain Danzo until this matter can be resolved."

Hiccup walked in front of Mifune to protect him should Danzo try anything but in order for him to capture Danzo he has to take out Fu and Torune.

Hiccup drew his sword and used the edge of the blade to tap the ground.

'-. - .—'

The room began to tremble, and a low rumble could be heard on the floor. The rumbling grew louder and louder until the floor cracked and a long white and red tail with spikes shot though and grabbed Fu and Torune, dragging them though the hole into the chamber below, with Hiccup following close behind.

When Hiccup landed, he was met with an interesting sight. The tail dragging both root members belonged to Whisp. Who was now throwing Fu and Torune around before letting them go into a wall.

"Hold on Whisp, I'll take it from here. You don't need to stay here." Hiccup spoke to the screaming death with authority but was surprised when the dragon only huffed and growled in refusal. "Alright then you take the one with the ponytail and I'll take the one in the mask." Hiccup and Whisp turned back to face their opponents and readied for their fight.

In the meeting chamber the remaining Kages with their bodyguards listened to the fighting happening below them. However, something had occurred to the lady Mizukage Mei Terumi. Earlier, the Iwa girl seemed to speak in defense of the Hidden Leaf hero's, especially of Hiccup Uchiha. Normally this wouldn't be much of a concern considering everyone knew about what happened with the hidden leaf and the fight with Pain. But what bothered her wasn't what she said but how she said it. It's no secret the hidden leaf and the hidden stone had a tremulous peace and even worse history together but for some reason the Mizukage was finding it a little don't get the wrong idea, now is not the time to be worrying about alliances after all they are here to discuss and alliances to deal with the Akatsuki, not what happens after.

The fourth Mizukage began to wonder. 'If a stronger alliance between the Hidden Leaf and the Hidden Stone is reached this could spell bad news politically for the hidden mist village. After all, the Hidden Sand village is already allied with them. If they secure a closer alliance with the hidden stone where would we stand? Maybe if I ask a few questions to the Tuchikage's granddaughter maybe I can see how far this supposed alliance goes between them.'

"Say, Kurotuschi was it? You seem to know a lot about the hidden leaf, especially their Jinchuikies. Care to explain how you have come to know so much about them?"

Not expecting a question like that Kurotsuchi had a light blush on her face, not knowing how to explain something like this delicately. But for her, delicacy was not something she was good at. "Well, I don't really know what you're talking about?"

The Tsuchikage saw where this was going and decided to interject before it got out of hand. "Lady Mizukage, while I understand your reason for inquiring about my granddaughter's knowledge about the hidden leaf, I would like it if you left a topic like this alone as something like this is clearly a private matter."

'Hmm so that struck a nerve, maybe if I try something else.' Mei thought for a second before coming up with a perfect idea. "Well, Lord Tsuchikage, I understand your worry, but I can assure you that I am only asking. As I am sure you are aware, there have been some rumors going around that you and the Uchiha have become quite close."

Onoki was beginning to panic a little. "Lady Mizukage, I must ask again to please refrain from…."

"In fact, I heard personally that you both are… dating? Is that correct?"

Now Onoki was panicking. It's not that he hated the idea of Kurotuchi dating someone but more the fact that it was someone outside the village. After all, something like this could be seen as a threat. If only he knew how right he was.

"Lady Mizukage, I can assure you. That these rumors of those two… dating… is simply that, a rumor. If you don't believe me then Kurotsuchi can answer for herself. Kurotsuchi if you can please explain away these pesky rumors." Unbeknownst to everyone, Onoki was secretly sweating bricks. 'Please for once Kurotsuchi please listen to me.'

"Uh, he is right, Lady Mizukage. Hiccup Uchiha and I are not dating. We were previously but after Pain's attack, we both decided, with his insistance, that dating was no longer plausible between us." She explains this without showing any sign of sadness or vulnerability which perplexes the Mizukage.

Onoki didn't know what to make of this situation. On one hand he had no idea they were no longer a couple. On the other he knew she was a tough girl but for some reason the way she was showing almost no expression of hurt or gloom was a little unnerving. But he decided to leave it be, feeling a weight off his shoulders.

"Oh, I am sorry to hear that, could you tell us why?" Lady Mie didn't think it was necessary, but she couldn't help but pry.

Not seeing this as a problem, Onoki didn't interject, seeing as there was no need to worry.

"Because we're engaged."

Or not. Onoki had to blink a couple of times to make sure what he heard was true before joining everyone in an exacerbated:"What!."Kurotuchi proceeded to remove her left glove to reveal a bright silver band with a perfectly cut oval black stone in the middle. She proudly flaunted it for everyone to see before putting her glove back on.

Before anyone else could inquire or congratulate her on the engagement there was another explosion and then a roar coming from the hole leading to the fight between Hiccup and Fu and Torune.

"Well since I am of no use to this meeting. I will take my leave while this rabble goes on." Danzo proceeded to stand up to leave but was stopped by Mifune.

"Hold it right there Danzo. As I have said earlier you are under arrest, and it is within my authority to restrain you by any means necessary. So, for your sake I would highly implore you to sit down." Danzo seemed to weigh the options in his head before seeming to agree and sat back down.

Torune jumped back and in midair and through kunies with explosive tags at Hiccup who, with his sword drawn weaved through hands signs. "Wind style: WhirlWind Whip." Hiccup's sword was instantly enveloped in swirling wind. He swung and caught the kunies and used his sword like a fishing pole, flung the kunies back at Torune with such force they became lodged so only the eyelets were visible Torune jumped away again before they exploded sending him flying.

As Torune recovered from the blast he waited for the smoke to clear. When it did he could see clearly the samurai was gone. "Samurai don't use ninjutsu nor do they have summoning contracts. Just who are you really?"

"I'm your worst nightmare." Hiccup jumped back and prepared himself.

"I'm your worst nightmare? Is that really the best you could come up with?" the king asked with a unamused tone in his voice.

Hiccup chuckled, amused at his own joke. 'Well that was perfect timing.'

Torune was perplexed how a samurai could use ninjutsu, unless this man was not a samurai at all but rather a shinobi. "I must admit you are a powerful fighter. Just what kind of warrior are you? You clearly are no samurai and not many shinobi would be willing to go up against the Anbu black ops like me. Besides, if you're here for Lord Danzo then there are only two outcomes of this fight."

Hiccup smirked behind his mask. You see, during his time in the archipelago, Hiccup endured strenuous forms of training, most of which was from his father, and the rest was from other things like actual combat or dragon taming. But another form of training he undertook was Flashburn's school of sword fighting. For those who don't know, this is a school where young Vikings go to learn and compete in sword fighting tournaments and while Hiccup wasn't a natural born Viking, they made an exception. While he was no prodigy, Hiccup had risen through the ranks of Flashburn's tournament and had even won the gold belt. But that is a story for another time.

"I suppose there is no point in hiding my face now. Especially if you already know how this will end." Hiccup grabbed his helmet and took it off to reveal his face with his Sharingan blazing."

"Hiccup Uchiha. I should have known."

Hiccup put the mask and helmet back on. If Hiccup was right, then he is going to need that mask. "I must admit I am surprised, Hiccup. You of all people… here. Trying to assassinate someone like Danzo. I thought you and Naruto frowned upon taking a life."

"I did and still do, Torune. But after what Danzo has done for his own form of peace, when it is a life where no one is free, and everyone bows to him and him alone. That is not peace. That is a hell too cruel for this world to experience. But you don't have to be part of that nightmare Torune, there is still time to lay down your arms and surrender peacefully. You don't have to do this."

For a moment it looked like he was weighing this choice, but Torune decided differently. "I am sorry Hiccup, but I cannot abandon my purpose."

"What purpose is that? To die for the man who ripped away any hope of a life worth living from you?"

"No, Hiccup, He didn't rip anything away from me. Any chance of a life, a real life, a … normal life. Was taken from me the moment my father died. But Danzo and the Root gave me a new one. One where I could do my best to ensure no one else would have to live without someone close to them being ripped away."

"But that's not the life Danzo has tried to make. He tried to take Naruto and I when we were first born. He tried to dissuade the third Hokage from accepting peace with the Hidden Sand Village after they were misled in their coupe. Danzo has proven he is not afraid to lay down the lives of countless shinobi and civilians alike for his own gain."

The sound of blades clashing echoed in the chamber as Hiccup and Torune met again their weapons together, in a stand still. "In order for peace to be achieved, sacrifices must be made. You and Naruto have always been too naive to understand the darkness of the shinobi world."

Hiccup disarmed Torune and knocked him to the ground with a punch to his face. Hiccup sheathing his sword and brought his hands to form the tiger seal. "Fire style: Fireball jutsu." Hiccup shot a large fireball leaving Torune no room to dodge.

"Water style: water wall." A torrent of water shot from Torune's mouth with enough force to halt Hiccup's attack. The room became enveloped in a thick steam before clearing, revealing Hiccup hadn't moved.

"That's where you're wrong, Torune. I have seen the darkness of this world and I have taken lives because of it. But I still believe that taking a life for a life is not the way of peace. Neither is manipulation nor forced servitude. If peace is to be achieved, then it must be achieved through everyone by their own free will and their wholehearted effort. All these things Danzo refuses to acknowledge or even try. You cannot free the world from darkness if your actions only cause it to bury the earth into a deeper grave."

"How do you know everyone will believe in your dream? What if they only agree to your idea at first then decide it is impossible?"

"I don't but I would rather believe in the impossible then live a life of pain and misery."

"There is no stopping Danzo, Hiccup. But if you are truly afraid of such a world existing, they let me, be the one to end your suffering before it starts." Torune clasped his hands together "Release!"

"What?"

The floor beneath Hiccup became enveloped in very intricate seals and writing but what caused Hiccup's sweat to drop was the fact he was rendered paralyzed. "What you are standing on Hiccup is a paralysis seal. So long as it remains active you will be rendered immobilized. I am sorry it must be done this way, but you have proved too much of a worthy adversary. I promise I'll make it quick."

Hiccup strained to speak. "What are you thinking?"

"Ninja art: Rinkachu mist." A purple cloud began to slowly surround Hiccup before fully enveloping him like a layer of skin. Underneath, all the insects began to slowly eat away at the samurai armor and through the mask filters.

"AHHHHhhhhhhh".

Torune released the paralysis seal holding Hiccup in place and looked on as the figure crumbled to the ground instantly. "You should have just walked away Hiccup. Even someone like you still didn't have the guts to kill m…"Torune froze, feeling his body go numb and unresponsive "Wh-what the hell?" The figure that his bugs were feasting on was replaced by a large piece of ice with all of the bugs frozen inside. "What! an ice clone!"

"Ninja art: creeping death." Managing to look down, Torune saw that he was being surrounded by an ice that was slowly crawling up his legs like rising water. "Sorry for this Torune but I knew you wouldn't be willing to surrender. I just thought I would try for Shino's sake. I know you understand." Hiccup revealed himself behind Tourne with a trail of ice leading from him to Hiccup.

"How did you…"

"How did I get past you? Simple, when you stopped my fireball jutsu with your water wall jutsu I used the hidden mist technique to conceal myself while using a jutsu I created called Changewing mimicy to get behind you."

Hiccup walked up behind Torune, by this time the ice had crawled up to his chin completely immobilizing him.

"Well done Hiccup but what makes you think this jutsu you have me in will hold me?"

Hiccup sighed, almost sounding sad having to explain. "It will hold you because it's meant to hold bug and parasite users like you. Everyone knows that the aburame clan has a symbiotic relationship between the insects and the host. In this case, the jutsu I used on you will not only immobilize you but will cause the insects to feed on your chakra at an uncontrollable rate. You will not be able to perform any jutsu while you're like this because the bugs will die if they stop feeding on you. But I won't let you die like this." Hiccup drew his sword and stood behind Torune with his sword angled at his neck. "Do you have any last requests?"

"Yes. Tell Shino I said thank you." Even though he remained stoic, Hiccup could hear a hint of sadness in his voice.

"I will."

"Thank you, Hiccup. I hope your dream of peace comes to pass. I just hope you know the sacrifice it will take to achieve it."

Torune couldn't see Hiccup, but he could hear the guard from his sword begin to clink against the sword. "Stop trembling Hiccup. You have chosen this path, you must now see it through to the end."

"Yeah you're right, Sorry."

"It's alright. Farewell."

Hiccup swung and brought his sword down and effortlessly severed Torunes' head. The sound Hiccup could hear was the sound of Torune's head hitting the ground.

The fight with Fu and Whisp was not as promising. Whisp launched a needle attack. Causing Fu to do somersaults to retreat. Fu then flung projectiles at Whisp that exploded causing it to flail and roar. Using this advantage, Fu charged again and drew his sword, jumped and brought his blade down on Whisp, striking him across the face and leaving a deep scar across the dragon's eye. "This will finish you off." Fu reached for his sword, but his attention was disturbed by seeing Hiccup with a now decapitated Torune. "No, I'm too late. Mind transfer Jutsu."

Hiccup vision goes blank before blinking and finding himself chained to an execution pillar. "What the hell is it now?"

"You'll pay for killing Torune." Fu steps from the shadows with a vengeful glare in his eyes.

"Fu Yamanaka, I presume. I should have known. Only someone in your clan could perform a Jutsu like this. But unfortunately, I will not reserve the same amount of compassion for you as I did for Torune. So, if you excuse me, I must make this quick."

In the blink of an eye Fu found himself tied to the very post he had Hiccup tied to. "What the hell?!"

Hiccup took Fu's place in standing in front of him with his own sword. "I must commend you Fu. Your reputation as a skilled fighter proceeds you but you have forgotten one very important thing." Hiccup stepped closer to Fu who looked him in the eyes only to see the haunting glare of the sharingan. Hiccup raised his sword. "You forgot this is my mind."

"AHHhhhhh!"

Hiccup shook his head clear and looked around to right back where he was. He looked and his heart sank at the sight of Whisp in a small pool of blood. "Whisp! Look at me boy." When Hiccup reached his summoned dragon, he looked at his wound and while it looked bad it wasn't fatal. "Dragon mimicry: Boggle breath mist." Hiccup blew out a green mist from his mouth and where green flames danced on Whisp's wound it began to slowly stop the bleeding until it stopped completely. "Whisp, you're alright now boy." Whisp began to stir before his scarred eye opened to reveal his eye was healed enough to save his eye.

"Roooaaarrr."

Hiccup smiled heartedly. "Glad you are doing fine but I'm going to have to take care of the rest of this by myself. I'm sure Wodendsfang will patch you up, no problem."

In a puff of smoke Whisp disappeared, being teleported back to the Hidden world. Hiccup looked around and found Fu's body with his corpse bleeding from the nose and Torunes body standing with his head at his feet.

"You have killed your own today boy there is no going back now. Are you prepared for what's ahead?"

"Yes I am."

"Then let us go and finish this."

Back in the upper chamber all the remaining Kages and their bodyguard waited with bated breath for the victor to reemerge. Well, they didn't have to wait much longer as Hiccup teleported to perch on Danzo's table with his sword on Danzo's neck, staring at him with his eternal Mongekoy sharingan. "Hello old man, did you think you could get away from me that easily?"

Danzo's sweat dropped and, for once in his life, he had no other option but to run, but how? "Hiccup Uchiha, I should have known you would come for me. I'm only surprised you would choose a time like this to try and kill me."

Hiccup hasn't been one to be considered crazy but for some reason he found Danzo's little joke to be a little funny. He started to chuckle a little; much to the discomfort of everyone in the room."Oh, don't be surprised Danzo because actually I am not going to just kill you." Hiccup pushed the blade of his sword closer to Danzo's neck letting a drop of blood trail down the blade. "I am going to make you suffer and instill the fear you brought onto every last Uchiha before they were slaughtered."

'I am so close to ending this.' Hiccup could almost feel a sense of pride at the thought of killing a man like Danzo. The same man who helped harbor hate and disdain between the Uchiha clan and the rest of the village.

The heavens must find this whole situation funny because he keeps being met with surprises. Because a lone samurai had decided to burst into the room with very unwelcome news. Boof. "Lord Mifune, Sasuke Uchiha has engaged the Raikage and the Kazekage. He has already lethally dispatched many of our own fighters. What would you have us do?"

"Hmm, Sasuke Uchiha must be kept from reaching this room. Stop him at all costs."

Hiccup never let his eyes off Danzo. 'If Sasuke is here then he is here for a reason, and it must be to kill Danzo. But wait, if what the elders said about Sasuke is true then if I kill Danzo then Sasuke's anger and resentment will be reverted to me and the Hidden leaf…Wait this gives me an idea.' Hiccup removed his sword from Danzo's neck slowly. "How did Sasuke look while he was fighting the Kages?" Hiccup wiped the blood from his sword and began to draw intricate symbols on the front of the desk.

The samurai wasn't expecting that from someone he thought was one of their own. "Uh, he looked like a mad man swinging his sword and striking down anyone in his way."

Danzo, feeling a little relieved without a blade on his jugular was also a little perplexed at Hiccup's recent change in behavior. "What exactly are you planning for Hiccup Uchiha? Surely you don't intend to stop Sasuke, who has proven to be better during your time as genin."

Hiccup turned and grabbed Danzo by the throat with one hand and stood him up on his feet. "Actually, Danzo, I am but not before I take something you stole from my clan." Hiccup reached and tore the eye Danzo had hidden under his bandages. The same eye he stole from Shisui Uchiha.

"What are you doing you insolent child?" Danzo asked angrily, blood staining his bandages.

Hiccup didn't say a word, only smirked and crushed the eye with his fist. Stripping the power Danzo had never deserved. Hiccup leaned in and whispered in his ear: "Run." Hiccup let go and began to walk out the door to face his cousin Sasuke. While leaving the room, Kurotuchi shuddered at seeing what had just transpired.

'What just happened? That was not Hiccup.'

Sasuke glared at Garra. "Your hatred is far from equaling mine!" Sasuke immediately charged and jumped into the air ready to deliver the killing strike "My rage… my despair… they surpass yours!"

Before Sasuke could land his sword on Garra Hiccup teleported in between them like a flash of bright light with his sword ready to strike Sasuke down. "ÉG RÍF YKKUR Í BITA!" Their swords met with fire and lighting and clashed like thunder.

"What the hell are you doing here, runt?"

"I could say the same for you, traitor!"

Reeling from the quick save, Garra stood slack jawed at Hiccup who was now standing before him in armor and sword drawn without his samurai helmet, no longer feeling his disguise was necessary. He stood as if the whole world rested on his shoulders, weary but resolute to finish what had been started."Stand back Garra, this is not your fight." Hiccup let out in a vain attempt to whisper. "It never was."

The Rikage was standing on the sideline with a disapproving scowl on his face. "Hiccup Uchiha and Sasuke Uchiha, either of these two could spell trouble for the hidden cloud."

"What do you want to do, boss?" Ask Darui in his ever-unmotivated tone.

"Attacking them both now would be stupid, let's just wait for one to kill the other then we will figure out what to do next. Until then just don't let them out of your sight."

Unbeknownst to them Hiccup heard everything. 'So, the big boss thinks he can pull a fast one like that huh. Well seems like no better time than now to set my plan into motion.' Hiccup lifted and pointed his sword, not at his cousin Sasuke but rather at Raikage himself. "Lord Rikage, I have information that I think you will find very helpful."

"Huh. Oh ya and what is that?"

"I know where Killer B is."

"WHAT?! YOU KNOW WHERE HE IS? WHERE IS HE? HOW DO YOU KNOW? TELL ME NOW!"

'So much for an inside voice.' "Don't worry Raikage, I will. But on two conditions. One is that you do not intervene in this fight and the second condition will have to wait until this fight is over. Oh, and just to prove I am not so heartless I will let you know that he is alive."

The Raikage made a noise that sounded like two pieces of sandpaper grinding together. "Your insolent little twerp. I swear I going to ring your neck…"

"Whatever you intend to do to me will have to wait. I will tell you about the last condition after this fight. Trust me, it's something that will be very important." Without taking his eyes off Sasuke he said, "I always thought, you of all people, Sasuke, would be above doing something stupid like this. But I shouldn't be surprised considering how far you have strayed from being the village prodigy and all." Looking at his cousin Hiccup began to take note of how Sasuke carried himself. 'Something is wrong with Sasuke. He seems powerful but unchecked. Almost like a berserker ready to attack anyone and anything… wait bingo.'

Sasuke scolded with a deeper grimace. "And what makes you think even after all these years you have the power to face me?" Sasuke replaced his scowl with a bloodstained smirk. "As I remember you couldn't even run up a tree. Well, I appreciate you are at least willing to show up for your funeral." Sasuke effortlessly weaved through several hand seals. "Fire style: Phoenix flower Jutsu." Sasuke practically heaved out a giant ball of pure fire that jutted itself at Hiccup.

"Water style: Water Dragon Bullet." Hiccup wasted no time creating two water dragons out of thin air and used them to stop the fireball heading towards him. When both attacks met, a vast cloud of steam was created, spanning the whole room. The mist was so thick Sasuke had to use his Sharingan to scan the room to avoid surprise attacks.

"So, you can make water dragons with little water available. If you really wanted to impress me. You would fight fire with fire." Sasuke readied his sword in his hand waiting for him to show his face.

"Oh, dear cousin doesn't you know. If you fight fire with fire, everyone gets burned." Hiccup appeared behind him with his sword already in mid swing. Sasuke brought his sword up to block but instead his sword cut right through Hiccup with no effect. But a small gash appeared across Sasuke's face in the blink of an eye.

"What the hell?"

The Hiccup who was in mid swing disappeared to reveal what Sasuke expected to be the real Hiccup. Sasuke looked at the supposed illusion up and down with his sharingan and reassured the chakra signature looked to be real. "So, you can use water clones now, is that supposed to impress me?" Hiccup chuckled, glad to see his trick work.

The Sand and Cloud Villages leaders and their bodyguards stood on the sidelines watching the last two Uchihas fight and waiting to see who would be the victor."Just what the hell was that?" Kankero was flabbergasted at seeing Hiccup move at such an immeasurable speed.

"Hiccup could not have moved that fast." Temari was almost as shocked but did not believe it to be possible.

"That's because he wasn't moving that fast," Garra interjected the banter between his siblings.

"Huh, what do you mean Garra?"

"Hiccup wasn't moving so fast that he dodged Sasuke's counter, he was never attacking him up close until Sasuke was off balance."

It was Temari's turn to be confused. "What, no way we all just saw Hiccup use a water clone."

"No, that wasn't a water clone. Back when Hiccup countered Sasuke's fireball jutuse with his water dragons. I saw the glimmer of light reflect from something. Hiccup must have used the mist to create ice mirrors and scatter them around the room. He doesn't have to trade blows he just has to wait for Sasuke to slip up and then he makes his move."

Darui was honestly impressed. "Wait, how can he do that? I thought the sharingan could see through any illusions or genjutsu?"

"Yes, they can, however I believe Hiccup is using his own eyes to disrupt Sasuke's vision. How he's doing this, I don't know."

Everyone, even the samurai guards, could only stare in silence. After all they had tried to stop Sasuke that didn't work and Hiccup was using simple parlor tricks like smoke and mirrors to corral Sasuke. Just what was Hiccup planning to do?

Back with Sasuke, Hiccup's plan seemed to be doing its magic because Sasuke was covered in various cuts, some of which looked deep. Sasuke dodged to avoid what looked like another attack but with his sharingan he could see something that looked out of place. There was a thin blue line like a crack, but it was as thin as a single strand from a spider's web leading from the chakra signature out. 'of course.' "Chidori stream."

Sasuke let out a barrage of electric needles that shot out in every direction of the room, most not hitting anything but a few hitting their marks. Jutting out through almost invisible walls, many of the needles looked to be hovering in place but in all actuality had hit the thin ice mirrors Garra had seen reflected earlier. "So that's how you have been moving around, huh?" Sasuke let another smirk come on. "I should have known. You were always a coward Hiccup. Instead of facing the threat head on you would rather sit back and let a clone do the dirty work." Sasuke immediately dropped his smirk and looked directly above him to see Hiccup staring down at him. But perplexingly, Hiccup didn't look angry nor even hesitant. Instead, he had his own wicked smile on his face.

Jumping down to finally face his cousin Hiccup began to taunt him. Clap…Clap…Clap. "Round of applause for Sasuke Uchiha. The ever prideful and arrogant prodigy. You know Sasuke. I am surprised it took you so long to notice my little trick, but I guess someone as powerful and great as you… Had to figure it out eventually."

Not even dignifying Hiccup's sarcasm, Sasuke lunged at him in full force. "Die!" Clang. Instead of piercing his heart like he had hoped Sasuke instead was met by a yellow glowing ribcage. "You…You unlock the Mangekyo Sharingan. How?"

"Come on cousin, did you really think that Naruto and I would simply lag behind, in your pursuit of power? You of all people should have known I wasn't going to let you become a greater threat to the hidden leaf."

Sasuke jumped back while Hiccup dispersed his Susanoo. Sasuke looked at Hiccup with complete disgust. 'How could someone like him have the power to use the Susanoo? He must be using the eight tails chakra. There is no other way.'

"You may have unlocked the Mangekyo Sharingan but that won't mean a difference when I get my revenge on the leaf." Sasuke weaved more and signs. "Fire style Phoenix flower jutsu."

Hiccup weaved through his own hand signs. "No more games. Fire style: Frost burn volley." Hiccup shot a precise jet of blue fire that spun like a drill. When it collided with the fireball it did something strange: it didn't disperse the fire in an explosion but instead stopped it in its tracks. The fireball started to turn blue and change direction and flew back at Sasuke.

"What the hell?"

The Fireball exploded in a bright blue flash with many flames being dispersed around the room still burning parts of the rubble. When the smoke cleared Sasuke was left standing holding a hand over his eye, surrounded by a purple ribcage. It was his own Susanoo but unlike Hiccup, Sasuke looked to be having trouble sustaining its activity. 'How the hell did he do that? No one can stop a fireball mid flight without causing it to disperse or explode. But there's something strange about this fire.' Sasuke reached his hand out and hovered over a burning piece of debris. He didn't feel anything but a sensation similar to if he touched a cold piece of metal.

"What the hell was that? How did you turn my attack against me?"

"Surprised Sasuke? You see, I decided to do some experimenting when I was in the archipelago. Doing so I was able to create a fire style that syphons heat, turning it into fuel making the attack stronger. To put it simply, it's fire so cold it will melt your skin and freeze your bones."

Sasuke dispersed his Susanoo, leaving him standing with only himself and his sword. "Fascinating, but enough games. Let's settle this now so I can get my revenge on Danzo."

Hiccup drew his sword again and stood ready. "Fine by me."

They stood poised ready to strike. Both balancing on a hair trigger. Sasuke and Hiccup looked at each other waiting for the other to make the first move. A bead of sweat trailed down the face of Kankuro who looked on with trepidation. The bead of sweat fell and before it hit the ground, time seemed to slow to a crawl. Drip.

In an instant Hiccup and Sasuke met in the center of the room. Their swords clashed and threw sparks. Every attack was met with a block, a counter, or a dodge. Neither one lost focus nor gave ground. They would attack and be sent flying back only to run at each other again.

"Chidori." Sasuke, using his signature attack, tried to deliver a fatal blow into Hiccup's chest.

"Wind style; cyclone spear." Weaving the signs with one hand Hiccup blocked Sasuke's attack and held him at a distance.

"Why must you constantly get in my way?"

"That's where you're wrong Sasuke. The only one who gets in your way, is you."

"Just shut up and die."

Sasuke strained his eyes again making them bleed while he created the Susanoo's skeleton top half. Hiccup did the same to match his strength. Both Susanoo's hands clasped each other and held themselves in place, copying their masters.

"Tell me Sasuke, do you remember what you told me before you betrayed everyone?"

Tch. "Why would I remember something stupid like that at a time like this? But humor me, what did I say?"

"You told me that you don't see comrades, you don't see the strength between bonds, instead all you see is darkness. Well Sasuke, if all you see is darkness, then let me be the first to show you the light."

The floor beneath Sasuke exploded with a shadow clone delivering an uppercut and launched him into the air. 'What the hell?' With his focus broken Sasuke's Susanoo began to disperse leaving only the ribcage. Taking this opportunity, Hiccup's Susanoo reared a fist back and crashed it against Sasuke with such force that it broke the barrier sending Sasuke flying into the wall leaving behind dust so thick he couldn't be seen.

Hiccup used this moment to take a breath. 'There is no doubt about it. Sasuke has become extremely powerful. But he is so driven by vengeance he has practically gone mad.'

Hiccup's rest was cut short however as a haunting moan filled the room. Everyone turned to look back at the still swirling dust. "Let me show you my darkness." Two purple swords emerged from the dust, dispersing it and revealing Sasuke with his eyes glowing red made prominent from the shadows being cast over him.

"Oh no his Susanoo is almost fully formed, if he manages to complete it then this whole place will be turned into a memory."

Instead of attacking Hiccup, Sasuke did something even more drastic. Sasuke's Susanoo swung its swords, destroying the supports that held the roof up. Garra, seeing this unfold, used his sand to form a cover over himself and his sibling. "The pillars! If those are destroyed, then this whole room will fall on us."

BOOM. Just as predicted, massive chunks of stone began to fall from overhead. Hiccup looked at Sasuke, who only stared at him with a lunatic like grin, he could almost hear him chuckle maniacally. 'So that's your game.' "Everyone get over here, quick!"

Everyone in the room quickly jumped to and stood beside Hiccup as the ceiling came crashing down. They braced themselves in case any debris managed to fall on them but luckily none did. When everyone opened their eyes, they were met with the sight of Hiccup's Susanoo using its hands to shield them. "Is everyone alright?"

The Rikage looked around the room looking for Sasuke. "He's gone, C, Darui, we're going after Sasuke again."

Both nodded. "Yes, boss."

Garra, knowing it was pointless trying to talk sense into them let them run on, they would be following shortly anyway. "Hiccup, what will you do now?"

All the destruction told Hiccup that Sasuke truly had lost himself to darkness. The only thing he could do now is make sure Sasuke didn't hurt the rest of the five kages any further. His plan, all be it hazardous, was coming together. He just needed to get Sasuke alone and away from the Kages. 'Fighting Sasuke to the end here will only result in his capture and execution. I must convince him to abandon the summit building. That shouldn't be a hard task to do considering his motive for being here.'

"Don't worry about me Garra. Quickly take Temari and Kankuro and follow the Raikage. I'll meet you in the summit room when this is done." Hiccup weaved through a few hand signs, "Release." Hiccup disappeared in a cold gust of wind leaving behind the sand siblings.

Kankero was dumbfounded for the second time that day. "How did he do that?"

The summit room was a complete mess and the remaining shinobi and samurai were covered in what appeared to be a white foam 'Where is Sasuke?' Crash! 'Well, speak of the devil.' Sasuke emerged from the used to be doorway that looks to have been sealed over with lava. Looking up, his face distorted from shock to anger in a split second.

"What? How are you alive?"

Hiccup manifested his imperfect Susanoo and used both of his hands to pin Sasuke in place. Hiccup looked him in the eyes with a cold glare. "Don't underestimate me." Hiccup used his Susanoo to fling Sasuke against the far wall so hard that when Sasuke crashed against it he didn't stop. Instead he was sent flying out into the cold and skidded to a halt on one of the roofs of the summit building. 'I have to make this quick before the kages can regroup.' Hiccup drew his sword and quickly jumped to the hole in the wall, ready to face Sasuke again.

"Hiccup, wait."

Hiccup looked back to the voice only to see Kurotuchi looking at him with pleading eyes filled with worry. "I'm going after Sasuke." Hiccup jumped out the opening and turned mid jump "Water style: glacier wall." Hiccup sealed the opening, buying him a little more time.

Kurotsuchi looked hurt by Hiccup's words. "Let me help you." Whatever had gotten into Hiccup she didn't like it one Hiccup found Sasuke, he was already looking like he was about to collapse and die then and there. "It's over Sasuke, you're wasting your time. Danzo's not here." Sasuke, shaking, rose to his feet.

"How do you know? Why should I trust you?" Cough, cough cough. Sasuke began to cough up blood into the snow. It is evident that he will die here unless Hiccup's plan works.

"I know because I sent him running. I was sent here to end Danzo's life. But if you don't trust me, then that's your problem, but let me at least give you a reason to believe me." Hiccup made sure Sasuke was looking before sheathing his sword. "I don't want to kill you, Sasuke. You can find Danzo down in the valley. He doesn't have his bodyguards but don't underestimate him like you did me."

Sasuke looked wide eyed at Hiccup. Here Sasuke was weak and on his last leg, killing him would be no effort by now. Sasuke mustered what little strength he had to say "Why?"

Hiccup looked from Sasuke to the horizon where for a moment the sun shone through as if it was a sign from the dead or the divine. Telling him what he was doing was the right thing. "Because I believe in justice, Sasuke, and killing you here will be far from that. If you wish to strike down Danzo in revenge then go ahead, I won't stop you. But if you even think of trying to attack anyone as you have here, I will not hesitate to end your life."

Sasuke only stared at Hiccup. Before Sasuke could reply he was sucked into what looked like a wormhole that appeared out of thin air, leaving behind only his imprint in the snow. "What the Hell…?" Hiccup looked around before the sound of someone clapping could be heard behind him. "Madera."

"Well, that was a spectacular display. Hiccup Uchiha, I must say for a moment there I was almost at the edge of my seat. Too bad I don't have one." Madera stood unmoving, waiting for Hiccup to make the first move.

"Hmph. If you think I am going to fight you you are sadly mistaken. I know what you're capable of and fighting you will only end the lives of everyone here."

"Well, aren't you the clever one. Naruto would have tried to attack me on sight. Glad to see someone from the hidden leaf has common sense."

"Enough of the semantics, Madera, what do you want?"

"Patience boy. I will tell you when everyone is accounted for in approximately 3…2…1."

Suddenly the ice barrier Hiccup created exploded as the Raikage shot out from the smoke. "LARIAT." The Raikage smashed into Madera creating a cloud of snow and dust, but when the smoke cleared only the Raikage was left standing there. "WHAT?!"

"Careful, Lord Rikage, you could have hurt someone." Both Hiccup and Riakage looked up to a nearby balcony where Madera sat nonchalantly as if taunting them. Before the Raikage could deliver an attempt to attack, the rest of the Kages and their bodyguards showed up. "Good now that everyone here I can finally introduce myself and I come bearing a message. I am Madara Uchiha, it's a pleasure to meet you all." Everyone except Hiccup was shocked. You see Hiccup already knew this was Madera because before Nagato sacrificed himself to revive everyone, he had told him and Naruto who the identity of Akatsuki's true leader was.

"What message could YOU possibly want to deliver to us?" Onoki responded, having just about enough of these games.

Madera simply chuckled, finding Onoki's little outburst positively amusing. "Oh, it's nothing special, just two things. I am here to accept your unconditional surrender and two I will expect to receive the eight and nine tail jinjuriki." Everyone could only stare at Madera in disbelief.

Garra was the first to speak against him. "Why would we do something like that? You Akatuski have done nothing but destroy and kill innocent people. What would be the point of giving you the last two Jinjurikies?"

Maderas sharingan lit up behind his mask. "I am so glad you asked lord Kezikage. You see, I have grown tired of the world and its conflicts. One war after another people killing each other for a conflict they themselves had no say in. Pointless, all of it, what I want is the same thing I hope everyone here wants as well."

"What is that exactly?"

"Peace. I want peace and the only way to do that is by completing my mission and the only way for that to work is by gathering all tailed beast to form one great creature called the Ten Tails."

Onoki scoffed at the idea. "Ten Tails. Please, no such creature exists. It's a myth like the sage of the six paths."

"Oh, Tuchikage, I assure you it exists or rather will exist once I have all the tailed beasts."

It was Rikage's turn to be confused. "Wait, what do you plan to do with the Ten Tails once you free it?"

"Oh, that's simple really. Once I have all tailed beasts under my command and I have freed the Ten Tails I will seal the Ten Tails within me and become the new Ten Tails jinjuriki that I may become the new sage of the six paths and bring peace to the world with my mission project Tsuki no Me."

"Wait. Project Tsuki no Me?"

"Yes, Lady Mizukage, with this plan I will be able to not only unite the shinobi nations but the entire world in a state that renders them peaceful and incapable of harming one another. It will be a world where dreams come true. Where no one has more power than the others, a world of peace. A world of my creation. Now all I need is the eight and nine tails. So, hand them over."

Everyone was shocked to say the least. They expected Madera to have some crazy reason for wanting all nine Jinjuriki but this was on a level that bordered on criminal insanity. Out of everyone in the room Hiccup smirked. "Well, I hate to break it to you Madera, but your fantasy won't be coming true."

"Oh, and why is that pray tell?"

"Because if achieving your dream peace means selling out my best friend then I will happily let the world burn and you along with it." Hiccup flared his sharingan and looked him right in the eye. "Amaterasu."

Madera simply let the fire phase through him, leaving him untouched. "Why are you Hidden Leaf shinobi so stubborn? I am making a simple demand and besides it's not like your villages even looked at their jinjurikes with any favor. Think of it as putting you out of your misery."

Hiccup closed his eyes and looked back at him with his clear blue eyes filled with determination. "You're right Madera, the villagers didn't look at us with favor. In fact, even now I can't help but look over my shoulder. But what you promise is something worse than whatever any angry villager has already done to me and to Naruto. What you promise is a world without hope, a world without choice, without free will. A world without love and forgiveness. A world where no one can become better than who they were before. The only reason you want a world like this is because you have experienced the horrors that awaited you and instead of seeing the good that was left in the world you chose to look away into the void where you stared for so long your nightmares become your fantasies and created this thing you call your mission, your dream."

Madera, Onoki, Raikage, Mizukage, Kazekage and everyone stared at Hiccup who stood unwavering. "You may think I am too young to speak of what you have lived through. To young to understand… and that may be true. But what I do understand is that I REFUSE. I refuse to live in a world created by a man who has become so deluded that he relishes in the destruction and death caused by his pawns. I refuse to live in a world where no one understands or tries to understand each other. I refuse to live in a world where everyone lives but you. I refuse to live in a world created by your illusions."

There was no effort made by anyone to move or speak. The only noise that was made was the wind howling in their ears. "I see, well then. Does everyone here feel the same?"

Garra again spoke up. " I do. Hiccup is right, to live in a world where peace is an illusion, is just that: illusions. Made reality by your twisted ideals. I will not give up Naruto Hatake."

The Mizukage. "As do I."

The Raikage. " I'll die before I do your bidding."

Onoki stood there quietly and looked at Hiccup who never took his gaze off Madera. 'That boy really believes that dream of his, even after all these years.' "I do as well."

"Well would you look at this, all kages finally coming to an agreement on something. Well isn't that nice. Too bad it won't do you any good. Very well I guess there's no hope for you. As of right now I declare war on you all, the fourth great ninja war. The next time we meet will be in battle."

Madera then teleported away, this time for good, leaving everyone standing in the snow letting what they heard sink in, 'War with Madara Uchiha.' Hiccup was a lot of things but this was something so dangerous it was outright stupid. It's right up his alley. "Everyone inside. We will decide what to do when we get out of this cold."

When everyone was in the main room, Onoki was the first to break the ice. "Whew. So, what do we do now Lord Kezikage, any ideas?"

"We must form a shinobi alliance. It's the only way we can face the rest of the tailed beasts as well as whatever Madera has up his sleeve. What say you, Lady Mizukage?"

"I also believe we have no other choice. Lord Raikage, what about you? Didn't the Akatsuki kidnap your brother?"

"No, B is safe, and I doubt they will try to capture him again. But before I agree to anything I want to hear from Hiccup Uchiha." Everyone but those who were present in the chamber where they fought Sasuke looked at Hiccup. "You said you wanted me to hear you out and that you had an offer for me that I couldn't refuse. Well, spill it."

Unbeknownst to them Hiccup was already talking to the eight tails.

'Hey big guy, do you remember what you said before we came here about how, 'if I can't save someone then perhaps there is someone else who can'?'

"Yes, I remember. What are you getting at boy? Have you thought of a way to save your cousin Sasuke?"

'I think so, but I need you to trust me. Can you do that big guy?'

The king let out a grunt. "I suppose I have no choice but to trust you boy. Whatever idea you have planned I will be with you."

'Thank you.' Hiccup returned to the real world with a stern face. 'Alright here goes nothing.'

The Raikage was getting red now. If there is one thing the Raikage hates more than anything it's waiting. That's why he never takes the stairs. "Well, answer me. Whatever you have to offer better be good and it better involve where I can find B."

Hiccup walked past the other kages to look the Raikage in the eyes to prove he was serious and wasn't hiding anything. "Lord Rikage, I offer a deal. With war at our feet, we must be kept to a common goal or we risk becoming broken before we march to the battlefield. Here are my conditions. Condition one: You and the rest of the five nations must not try to kill Sasuke Uchiha but instead must leave him to be captured by either me or Naruto. After this fight I can guarantee Sasuke is only going to grow stronger, and to avoid any more death you must leave that task to one of us."

"What!" Everyone in the room's head practically exploded with rage as the Rikage's head became three times its normal size.

"Are you serious? Even after everything he just did and tried to do, you still want to spare and forgive him? You and the nine tails brat really are full of yourselves."

Hiccup grew an angry tick. "No Raikage, I don't want to simply forgive him. What I want is for Sasuke to face up to everything he has done under the rule of a fair trial. I can't simply forgive and forget what Sasuke has done, not anymore. But I will not abandon my own principles trying to defend him. He has betrayed my village and he will answer for it, but I will not strike him down in retaliation or revenge."

This seemed to simmer the Rikage's temper enough for him to continue to listen. "I won't agree to anything until I have heard all your conditions. But I don't see the point in this, kid. Sasuke Uchiha may not have managed to kill B but just the mere fact he tried is unforgivable. So unless you intend to bring me his head on a plate or the rest of him in chains I don't see how this helps you."

"I know Raikage, and I'm sure whatever damage Sasuke and his cohorts have done only adds to your list of reasons to kill him but let me offer you something you can't refuse." Hiccup snuck a glance at Kurotsuchi whose face remained stoic but the look in her eyes showed him just how worried she was. 'I'm sorry love. I hope you can forgive me.'

"Well, spit it out boy. What is the next condition?" The Raikage, though agitated, was now rather interested in what Hiccup had to offer.

"Condition two and this one comes with a catch: for this condition, If Sasuke Uchiha flees custody or refuses to face persecution after this war is over, then … I … will surrender the eight tails."

Everyone tried to voice their opinion but it fell on deaf ears.

Temari: "What?!"

Kankuro: "You really are crazy!"

Garra: "Hiccup you mustn't!"

Even the Mizukage and her band were taken aback by such an offer. But Onoki didn't say anything; in fact he seemed rather perplexed by what Hiccup was doing. The room became dead quiet. Everyone looked at Hiccup who looked at the Raikage with cold determination. After everything that had just transpired,Hiccup was still willing to sacrifice himself for someone who he knows deep down had just become too afraid to love others. To everyone else, this idea is outright lunacy, but it's just what Hiccup would do. Even after all that has been done by both Hiccup and Naruto to change how the village sees them. The scars he carries remain, but in a way, Hiccup was fortunate to share those scars with someone like Naruto. But if Hiccup chooses now to let Sasuke be killed then he will only be breaking his promise to Naruto, the same promise they made all those years ago.

Flashback

It was a few days after the retrieval mission for Sasuke, everyone who took part remained in stable condition. Hiccup, Naruto, and Toothless sat atop the Fourth Hokage monument at night still wearing their hospital clothes, each chowing down on a bowl of ramen Shizune snuck in for them. "Hey, Hiccup, I gotta ask you something?"

"Uhh ya, Naruto what's up?... no, Toothless, eat your own food." Hiccup shoved Toothless's head away from his bowl to his own, which conveniently had run out of salmon fillets and Hiccup's still had one left.

"Do you really think we can get Sasuke back?" Naruto didn't look at Hiccup but instead at the star filled sky with such focus it was like he could find the answers there.

"What? Where is this coming from Naruto?" Hiccup didn't expect this from him. Naruto was always so sure of himself in everything he did, and every decision he made. Seeing him like this worried Hiccup.

"I mean it. Do you think we can really save him? I mean I saw the look in his eyes when we fought. They were so dark and cold. I gave everything I had to stop him, but he still got away…" Naruto looked at the village, taking in all its lights.

Hiccup turned to look too. They were both quiet as even Toothless stoped eating and instead looked at Naruto. Hiccup just put his bowl down next to him and put a hand on his brother's shoulder. "You know what, brother. I think we can."

Naruto looked at Hiccup with a quizzical look. "You really think so?"

"Well not like we are now. If we're going to bring Sasuke back one day, then we're going to have to become stronger than anyone has ever seen." Hiccup stood up and looked down at Naruto with a confident expression as he reached his hand out to pull him up.

"Stronger than anyone, huh?... Ya you're right!" Naruto took his hand and stood beside him, looking down at the village, their village, filled with the people they have grown to love and cherish.

"Let's promise that no matter what, we'll do whatever it takes to bring Sasuke back home and prove to him and to everyone we will stop at nothing to protect everyone. Right, brother?"

"YA!" Hiccup and Naruto shared a fist bump to seal their promise.

"Roooaaarrr!" As it would seem this feeling of determination was contagious as Toothless agreed they would stop at nothing until his rider and best friend's dream came true.

END FLASHBACK

Hiccup decided to break the silence that seemed to have dragged on for long enough. "Well, Lord Raikage, what's it going to be?"

The Rikage looked down and smirked at him. "Heh, that's a pretty good deal, kid, but even if I agree to this deal you don't have the authority to keep it. Once your Hokage finds out, the deal will be off and there won't be anything for me."

Mifune decided to chime in to help Hiccup seal the deal. "Lord Rikage, he does. Before this all started, he came into the chamber to deliver the scroll that revealed Danzo to be a traitor. It stated that Hiccup Uchiha has been given the authority by his elders to act as Hokage. So quite frankly he has the authority to make this promise. No matter how crazy it is."

"There you have it, Raikage , do you believe me now? What do you say? Let's shake on it." Hiccup stretched his hand out to see if the Raikage will agree to it bef–

SLAP

Hiccup's hand was swatted away by Kurotuchi. "Ku what are yo—"

SLAP

Kurtsuchi interrupted him again by leaving her hand on his face. "Just what the hell do you think you're doing you idiot?Y—you idiot!" Kurotuchi was finding it harder to keep herself composed in all of this. Quite frankly, who wouldn't? She heard Hiccup's village was attacked and destroyed. She goes there to see and instead finds him perfectly healthy. Then after everything settles, Hiccup proposes to her in secret with a ring, he made himself. And now here she is, watching him openly sacrifice himself to someone who just tried to kill the most influential leaders in all the shinobi world. Who wouldn't?

Hiccup touched the side of his face that by now had a handprint on it. "Kurotsuchi."

"After everything Sasuke has done you're still trying to save him. He tried to kill you when you were kids. Tried to kill you when you came back and he tried to kill everyone just now, and you're still going to sacrifice yourself for him."

She did have a point and Hiccup knew it, but he knew that trying to explain everything to her now would only make her angrier. "I'm sorry, love, but I—" Kurotuchi tried to slap him again but instead he caught her and with her fingertips inches away from his face. Hiccup's expression morfed from sadness to a stern look, the same look his father had when he looked at him when he would protest "Listen to me. I can explain everything after, but right now this is something I must do. Please, love, let me do this, I must."

Kurotsuchi tore her hand away, this time not even bothering to look at him. "Fine then at least I know now how important I am to you!" Hiccup could hear the drop of venom in her voice when she said that.

"Kurotuschi please–" Hiccup reached out to touch her shoulder but instead she teleported out of the room and onto a snow topped edge outside. Kurotuchi was furious, she began kicking the snow and punching the wall in a vain attempt to channel her frustration before she lost control. As she clenched her fist to punch the wall again, she stopped when she felt a band around one of her fingers. She stopped her outburst and began to furiously take off her glove and when she did she looked at the ring and when she tried to take it off, her fingers began to tremble. She tried again and again but the ring didn't move. Instead she just stared at the ring, her fingers still around it to tear it off but she just couldn't. Instead she began to tremble like a leaf in the wind and soon after her tears broke through.

"You idiot." Kurotuschi couldn't hold back her tears anymore as she silently cried, falling to her knees in the snow. She began to wonder just how much Hiccup had changed her. Before they met, she had the same dream of becoming the Tuchikage and ensuring the prosperity of her village, but now, even after these years of knowing Hiccup, she can't help but wonder what else life could have in store for her. Now those dreams are in jeopardy because of Sasuke's treachery and Hiccup's boar headed stubbornness. 'Why does this have to happen to us?' There was no one around to answer her thoughts as she continued to cry.

Back in the meeting chamber Hiccup and the Raikage continued their negotiations. "So let me get this straight kid, If Sasuke Uchiha doesn't face up to justice and eludes us after the war then you will surrender the eight tails to me? What is the catch then?"

"The catch, Lord Raikage, is that if Sasuke is killed or crippled in custody before he can face a fair trial by anyone from either your village, the hidden mist, the hidden stone, or any other party then the deal is off, and I will not relinquish the eight tails."

"What? What kind of deal is that?"

"It's a deal to ensure that we all have a stake in this war besides stopping Madera. Even when this war is over our troubles won't end but by doing this, we can ensure that regardless of the outcome, all villages will have no reason to distrust each other."

Onoki's eyes became glued to Hiccup. 'So, that's your game. Huh, not a bad idea but still extremely reckless.'

"Heh, well then if in the case Sasuke Uchiha does evade custody how do I know you won't just attack the hidden cloud when it's over?"

"If that happens Lord Raikage, I will surrender willingly and to give you peace of mind I will perform Hirakiri."

Everyone in the room looked at Hiccup for what felt like the hundredth time today. The Raikage only looked at him for a good second before smirking. "Well alright then you have a deal kid. Now where is B?"

Hiccup smirked. "You can find Killer B just south of here. To my knowledge he is fine."

" Good, now our problem with the Akatsuki. I propose we form an alliance force and wipe out ever last one of them from the face of this planet."

Mifune for once during this entire debacle actually smiled at this. "Excellent but what about the Hidden Leaf?"

"As acting Hokage I accept the terms of this alliance."

"Won't your previous Hokage have reservations about this?"

"She may but whether or not she does it's no longer up to her. We are officially at war; she has my full confidence in ensuring the full might of the Hidden Leaf stands behind the shinobi alliance."

"Excellent. Then I will commence the creation of the first ever shinobi alliance. We will convene in the Hidden cloud village once Lady Tsunade has fully recovered. After that we shall make final preparations to strike against the Akatsuki. Any objections?." No one spoke but instead donned their village hats. "Good, then I hear by adjourning this summit. Goodluck everyone and don't worry I will also be joining in this fight."

Hiccup took a step back and watched the other kages leave the room leaving only him and the sand siblings. Garra wanted to know what could have possessed Hiccup to think up such a deal, the thought troubled him greatly. "Hiccup, why did you make a deal with the Raikage for Sasuke's retrieval? You would really trade your life for his?" Hiccup wasn't surprised at this. Gaara had always been worried for him and Naruto after they defeated and saved Garra after the Konoha crush incident.

"Sigh. Walk with me Garra, I'll explain everything."

With Onoki, Kurotuchi, and Akatuchi the group had made it a good distance away from the summit and on their way to their village. Kurotsuchi had stopped crying ages ago and is now simply venting her frustration on the two people who would listen. But for Onoki he couldn't help feeling that a lot of her frustration at Hiccup while some of it was warranted the rest was still partially undeserving. "I mean who does that? Who is willing to risk their lives for a terrorist? I swear, why did I ever agree to date him? Sure, he saved our backs as well as trained dragons but other than that he is a complete fool."

Onoki stopped dead in his tracks without looking back at his granddaughter. "That's enough Kurotsuchi."

"What? Don't tell me you're going to defend him. After all these years, you always said you hated him and that I could do better. Why are you choosing to defend him now?"

"I am choosing to defend him now because perhaps I was wrong about him." This stopped her and Akatsuchi right in their tracks. It was rare for Onoki to admit when he's wrong but for him to defend someone from another village, especially from the hidden leaf, was completely out of character.

"What do you mean, old man?"

"Kurotuchi, you're my granddaughter so you ought to know how important it is to maintain a strong alliance with other villages. So, listen carefully because I won't explain it again. When he came here to kill Danzo, didn't you find it strange how he didn't attack him the moment he had the chance. No, instead he drew the fighting away from everyone where no one could be caught in the crossfire. Secondly, instead of killing Danzo he went to stop Sasuke Uchiha. That shows he knew just how much of a threat he was and made sure to stop him so none of us could be in danger. Thirdly, who in their right mind would be willing to make a deal where there would be slim to no chance of surviving only to appease the other villages. Tell me, do you know why he was doing these things?"

Kurotsuchi was dumbstruck. "Uh, to make the hidden leaf not lose standing with us?"

"No child, he did this all to protect you!"

Being told that it felt like a cold bucket of water was thrown on her. "Wh—what?"

"Think carefully girl. The reason he drew the fight away from us in the beginning was because he knew just how much trouble Danzo's guards were in. Then the only reason he didn't kill Danzo when he had the chance was because he suspected he had a lethal trick up his sleeve. Knowing Sasuke was there for him meant that if he let Danzo escape then Sasuke's attention would be drawn away from the summit, especially away from you. Last and most importantly, after you left, he stated that if Sasuke did elude us after the war that he would surrender the eight tails, correct?"

"Uh ya, but what does that have to do with the alliances?"

"Sigh. Because if Sasuke dies before facing justice, he knows the Raikage will try to take his anger out on the Hidden Leaf."

"But wait, I thought Killer B was alive?"

"He is but that doesn't matter to the Raikage. All that matters to him is that someone form the Akatsuki who tried to kill his brother was from the hidden leaf. And with no one to answer for his crimes, the Raikage will be distrustful of the hidden leaf. If tensions rise farther, then war will break out and in our weakened state there is no telling who will be the victor and the cycle of hatred will begin again. So, don't you see Kurotuchi? The reason he was offering himself in Sasuke's place in case something happened was because he couldn't risk another war breaking out after this one. He offered himself up because he didn't want to risk losing you to war. He wanted to save you from that fate, even if it meant dying at his own hands."

Kurotuchi was at a loss for words. She thought Hiccup was just keeping his promis to Naruto, but he was doing everything he could to make sure she was safe. "I…I didn't…. I must go."

"Before you do, remember to come back when you're ready and… tell the boy… to go with my blessing."

Kurotuchi looked slightly perplexed before her eyes became filled with light. "R—really…Bu—But I thought?"

Onoki grew a tick on the side of his head that grew double in size to yell at her. "DO I NEED TO REPEAT MYSELF?"

Kurotsuchi was shocked now but instead took Onoki into a bear hug and squeezed. "Thank you old man, I mean grandpa." CRACK.

"Ahh! My back again."

Kurotsuchi quickly let go of Onoki and let him fall in the snow. "Sorry, anyway gotta go, bye." Kurotsuchi quickly teleported away to try and find Hiccup again, leaving the Tsuchikage and Akatuchi standing there baffled.

"Are you alright Lord Tuchikage?" asked Akatuchi bending to help Onoki out of the mound of snow he was dropped in.

Onoki stood up and cracked his back. "That was another reminder that I am getting too old for this and unfortunately it was also the hidden stone agreeing to keep our end of the deal."

"Lord Tuchikage, if it's about Hiccup Uchiha do you think he can be trusted even after all of this?"

"Sigh…Yes, he can. I may not agree with everything he has done but who am I to judge him now?"

"But Lord Tsuchikage, what about Sasuke Uchiha? Didn't Hiccup say Sasuke is only going to get stronger? How can we be sure we will be able to stop Sasuke?"

"Simple. We don't. Sasuke Uchiha is not our priority; our priority is ensuring the creation of the shinobi alliance. Anything else will be in the hands of the Eight and Nine tail jinjuriki."

"Oh…Okay but can we be sure Hiccup can handle Sasuke? During their fight, Sasuke seemed to almost have the upper hand."

"Hmph. To you maybe but I have been around long enough to see someone holding back and I can say that's what he was doing. He didn't kill Sasuke, not because he wasn't strong enough but because he had another motive."

"How– how do you know that?"

"I have seen the boy fight, Akatuchi, he is no novice to combat but something to note is how he fights. If you notice, he never drew his thunder blade. If he wanted to kill Sasuke Uchiha then he would have… he could have ended the fight long before Sasuke made it to us. The reason he didn't, I suspect, is that he wanted to see just how strong Sasuke had become. But that is just my speculation. Come, we should be getting back to the village now."

Onoki and Akatuchi turned and began to make their way back home with Akatuchi carrying Onoki's pack. But Onoki gained a smirk on his face looking out into the distance. "Hmph, Yes you can fool everyone Hiccup Uchiha but you can't fool me. You had the chance to end Sasuke's life but you didn't because you knew nothing good would come of it. But whatever plan you have it better not cause harm to her."

Back with Hiccup and Gaara. "So that's my plan Garra, do you all understand now?"

Garra, having heard everything, was relieved but still worried for his friend. "Yes, I understand but I still have my doubts about this."

"I understand Gaara but I need you to trust me. After all, I am not alone in this, Naruto and I will do everything we can to bring Sasuke back. So long as we can work together, we will succeed in this fight."

"Very well old friend, good luck on your trip home."

"As with you, my friend."

As Hiccup departed the sand Siblings he looked to the sky. "ROOOUUURR." Hiccup bellowed the night fury call and in the next instant Toothless was by his side, happy his friend and rider was safe. "Hey, I wish we could stay but we have to head back to the village so let's go."

As they took to the sky and began to reach a steady pace, Toothless ears perked up and his head turned to the opposite direction. "Toothless, what's wrong? Do you hear something bud?" Hiccup's question was answered when Toothless darted in the direction he was looking at, leaving Hiccup with a slight feeling of whiplash. "Toothless, what's gotten into your bud?"

When Toothless landed he bucked up sending Hiccup flying off and into the snow. "That was not funny, bud. What's gotten into you?" As he brushed the snow off himself he stopped when he heard a voice behind him. "Hiccup." A very familiar voice spoke with a hint of venom behind it. He knew exactly who it was and when he turned to meet her eyes, he could see she was still scowling at him before she started to run to him.

"Kurotsuchi. H-hey look I know you're mad but just hear me out." Before Hiccup could try to explain himself he braced himself for an inevitable punch to his face…Crash!… But the attack never came, instead Kurotsuchi jumped into his arms and clung to him like there was no tomorrow.

"Your such an idiot." Kurotuchi crashed into Hiccup and were met with a thud from the snow covered ground. Hiccup was shocked for a moment but broke out of it when he could feel water touch his shoulder. He looked and saw that she was doing her best to not cry but failing. Hiccup embraced her with the same strength to make sure she knew he wasn't going anywhere. They stayed like that for what felt like an hour, but between them the moment felt like seconds. "Rrrroooooo" Kurotuchi lifted her head to find Toothless looking down on them. They stood up but went back to embracing each other.

"Sniffle…Hiccup." Kurotsuchi let go of him enough to look Hiccup in the eyes.

"What's wrong,love?"

Kurotuchi looked down at her gloved hand that underneath had the ring. "What's wrong? Hiccup, why did you do that? Betting your life on someone like Sasuke to turn himself in. Do you really think he will just do that?"

Hiccup looked at her with complete sincerity. "No love. I'm not betting Sasuke will just turn over a new leaf. But what I am betting on is Naruto to make sure he does."

"But why surrender the eight tails back to them?" You know when a tailed beast is removed from its host, the host then dies. Why did you make the deal where if Sasuke is harmed when captured then the deal is off?"

"Because the Rikage believes the eight tails belong to Kumo. So, surrendering the eight tails would ensure no harsher relations between their village and the hidden leaf. But I made that part of the deal to ensure Sasuke's safety, because if he is captured but is killed before facing trial by anyone from either his village or others then the deal would be off. This way when Sasuke is captured, the Hidden cloud and any other shinobi wouldn't risk harming him because it would risk destroying the alliance. The only way for me to surrender the eight tails would be if Sasuke eludes capture or is killed." Hiccup took Kurotuchi's hand and twined his fingers with hers. "And with every last shinobi nation united and gunning for him, it is near impossible for him to escape successfully."

Kurotuchi thought about it and honestly, she had to give credit to his plan. Although still extremely dangerous and complicated it was not a bad one. "But wait, how are you so confident that Naruto will be able to stop Sasuke and convince him to turn himself in?"

"Honestly, I don't know how to explain it, but Naruto just has a way of bringing people out of their ways of darkness. He just seems to be able to almost shine a light into the coldest of hearts. That's why I know Naruto will be able to save Sasuke. Afterall, nothing is impossible, only improbable."

Kurotuchi looked almost bashful looking down and looking back at him with a smile and a light blush on her cheeks. "Also, Hiccup…he gave us his blessing." It took a moment for it to sink in but when it did Hiccup was so elated, he picked her up and started twirling her around as Toothless jumped with joy.

"Did he really?! This isn't another one of his games, is it?" Hiccup put her down but still held her in his arms, his eyes scoured hers to make sure there wasn't a hint of doubt.

"No, he really did. A—and he also explained to me why you made that deal with the Raikage."

Hiccup smiled reassuringly at Kurotsuchi and when she smiled back, he leaned in and they met with a light kiss. The moment was short-lived, however, when they both felt the presence of people watching them. They broke apart and kept their foreheads together and whispered. "You feel it too, don't you Kurotuchi?"

"Ya, feels like more than one, what should we do?"

"Don't worry I have a trick up my sleeve." Hiccup slowly reached under his fur cape and pulled out three little black balls. These were another one of his inventions, they worked like smoke bombs but had a different effect when used. "DUCK" Hiccup turned and threw the pellets into the tree line where they felt the stars were coming from, the pellets exploded into a bright blue cloud and dissipated just as quickly leaving behind glowing figures that were easily identified as his friends.

Kurotuchi looked at the glowing figures quite puzzled. "What was that? Why are they glowing?"

Hiccup responded smugly. "That was one of my inventions I created when I started training dragons. I call them frightmare bombs." During Hiccup's time taming wild dragons, he also managed to discover certain tricks the dragons used to survive. In this case, when Hiccup was studying a Flightmare that began to trouble the Berkian village he discovered the tricks the Flightmare uses to glow and scare away any predators. The trick was a specific alga it would eat from a river on the island. After taking the algae and studying it Hiccup managed to concoct a solution that when it exploded turned anyone into a walking talking glow stick.

When everyone jumped from the clearing to face Hiccup and Kurotichi, they had to hold back from snickering. The former Anbu Sai was glowing like a light bulb. Kiba and Akamaru were like a glowing pair of cherries. Rock lee was a bright shade of green. Sakura was as pink as her hair. Yamato and Kakashi were bright blue and of course Naruto was as bright as a jack-o-lantern. But something Hiccup noticed was a now glowing figure being carried on Kakashi's back.

"WAAAGH, Hiccup what did you do to us?"

"Why am I pink?"

"I look as white as the snow."

"I can't wait to see Guy sensei see that I am glowing with the power of youth."

"Say Kakashi, are you sure you are not sad, you're looking a little blue."

"Very funny, Yamato."

"Cool, orange is the best color."

Hiccup thoroughly enjoyed watching everyone panic but he knew he couldn't let this drag on forever. "Calm down everyone, the effects of the bomb will vanish in a few minutes. Until then you are going to have to bear with your new glow."

Kiba was not liking this color on him considering he smelled the algae the bombs were made of. "Augh, easy for you to say you don't smell like the bottom of a river."

"Well, Kiba, you wouldn't be smelling like that if none of you were hiding in the trees watching us. By the way, why were you there anyway?"

"To spy on you two." Sai's lack of social interactions and social cues did not help him sometimes but in this case, it was amusing watching everyone's face fall with embarrassment from being found out.

"I see… well how much did you hear?" Everyone's face became stern as Naruto stepped up and put a hand on Hiccup's shoulder. "H—how could you, Hiccup?"

"Listen Naruto, I can explain everything back at the village please…"

"No, you will explain yourself now. How could you—how could you not tell me you were engaged?"

"Brother I'm sorry I… wait what?"

Naruto was now looking at him with his tantrum tears running down his face and clutching his hand over his heart. "I thought we promised to tell each other everything all the time." Hiccup just looked at him with a deadpan face and a tick on his head.

"I was going to tell you Naruto, but I wanted to make sure this secret could happen to begin with. But now that you're here I want to know something."

"Ya …sniff… what is it?" Hiccup put his hands on Naruto's shoulder and looked him in the eye. "Naruto, will you be my best man?" If Naruto was holding back his tears before, he was letting the water works flow freely now.

"I accept. Oh brother, you won't regret this, I promise I'll be the bestest, best man there will ever be. You won't regret it."

'I kind of already do.' Hiccup was brought out of his musing by his fiancé.

"Naruto, can I talk to you for a second?"

"Oh, sure, Kurotsuchi. Bring it in." But before Naruto could embrace his soon to be sister-in-law she grabbed his collar and brought him down to eye level with her where she looked at him with a gaze that matched the sharingan.

"Listen to me, Hatake and listen carefully. I don't care how you do it. Torture, coercion, manipulation, outright bribery, you will stop at nothing to bring Sasuke back and keep him safe, do you understand me?"

Naruto looked at her with fear as his sweat dropped. "Uhh ya, Kurotsuchi I'll bring Sasuke back in no time, believe it." He squeaked the last part out before she let go of his collar and stood beside Hiccup again.

Speaking of which, Hiccup was starting to wonder who Kakashi was carrying on his back. "Hey uncle Kakashi, who are you carrying?"

"Oh, this is an Akatsuki member, she is to be brought back to the village for interrogation."

"Hmph well then, we shouldn't waste any more time then, let's head home. Come on Kurotsuchi, I'll take you back to the Hidden Stone."

"No."

"What? What do you mean no? Don't you want to help Onoki prepare for the next meeting?"

"The old man doesn't need me to help with that, he has plenty of secretaries for that. Kurotuchi entwined her fingers with Hiccups. "After today, you better get used to having me around. Because I am not going anywhere."

Hiccup smiled and gently squeezed her hand and cupped her face with his other hand. "M lady, I wouldn't want it any other way." The two leaned in for a kiss but before everyone could see, Toothless unfurled his wings blocking them from view so the two could share their moment with some privacy. When they were done Hiccup looked at the group with a joyful expression. "Alright everyone, let's get back to the village on the double."

"Hold it right there commander." Sakur was the one to speak up now with an odd sense of determination. "I am not going anywhere until I see them."

Hiccup looked quickly at her. "Them? What are you talking about Sakura?"

"Don't play dumb with me. Your rings. Don't tell me someone like you who has his own blacksmith shop doesn't already have engagement rings. So, let's see them." Sakura looked even more serious when she crossed her arms and stared at him.

Hiccup scratched the back of his head feeling a little embarrassed. "Oh, those ya I have them. In fact, why don't we show them." Hiccup and Kurotuchi removed their gloves and rather smugly showed everyone their engagement rings. Like Kurotsuchi's ring, Hiccup's also had a black stone oval with a silver band; they looked immaculate.

"Ohh they are beautiful, I can't wait to tell Ino about this." Sakura gushed over the look of the rings, with a twinkle in her eye 'I wonder if Hiccup could make my wedding ring one day?'

After showing everyone, they put their gloves back on and everyone began to make their way back to the village on foot. But after walking down the mountains the group was ambushed and surrounded by members of the Anbu.

"Halt! We were ordered to wait for lord Danzo, where is he and you Uchiha, why is your dragon carrying the Hokage's head piece?" Hiccup had a bad feeling, one that told him that even if he explained they wouldn't believe him, Sai came through. "I can explain, and all of my accusations can be proven with this." Sia threw the scroll that had the orders from the village elders explaining everything from Danzo's betrayal to Hiccup being temporary Hokage. To the head of the anbu squad and gave him a second to read it. Hiccup stepped forward. "As of this moment you all are relieved of your current duty and by my orders are to go back to wait for our arrival, after which Sai will explain what we will do in the coming weeks. Until then you are dismissed."

There was a stillness in the air, as both parties stood there half expecting the other to make a move, but luck was with them as each Anbu member bowed. "Yes Lord Hokage." Each one teleported away with great speed. Kurotuchi walked up next to Hiccup. "Well done Lord Hokage." They both chuckled seeing as they just narrowly avoided a fight with the Anbu.

Hiccup looked to Sai for help. "Sorry for throwing you into the fire Sai but if anyone can talk to the Anbu, especially the foundation, it would be you."

"It's alright Hiccup, when we get back to the village, we will explain everything to them."

"I got to say Hiccup, I feel a little betrayed right now. After all, becoming Hokage was my dream, you know."

"Well sorry for stepping in your ramen Naruto but it's not like I wanted to be a temporary Hokage. Besides, it's only until Lady Tsunade wakes up."

"You can just call her grandma Tsunade, you know. After all, she practically adopted us."

"Maybe but there is a difference between a grandmother and a Hokage."

As the group continued their trek and Naruto and Hiccup continued their squabble from behind the group, Kakashi, for a brief second, saw something. With Naruto in his white cloak and Hiccup in his fur cape just for a split second they looked just like their fathers. "Those boys really have become their heroes."

Sakura looked at Kakashi. "Hm, did you say something Kakashi sensei?"

"Uh no, Sakura just mumbling to myself is all."

After our group returned to the village and each went their separate ways. Kiba, Akamaru. Sai left to meet with the Anbu as well as the foundation. Yamato and Kakashi left to take Karin to the intel division. Naruto and Sakura left to check on Lady Tsunade with Shizune and Rin. Leaving behind Hiccup, Kurtsuchi, and Toothless. "So, what now, handsome?" Don't you have to go and see about some meeting?"

Hiccup moved in close to her. "Normally yes, but after the day we had I was thinking of going for a flight just you and me." Toothless decided to announce himself by wrapping the two love birds into a dragon style burrito. "Yes, and you too Toothless, we couldn't go flying without you bud."After breaking free, the two mounted Toothless and took off into the sky leaving their worries on the ground.. In the sky, they could feel free and weightless even if it was just for a second.

Hours passed and day turned to night. Everyone Hiccup and Naruto graduated with was in their old classroom waiting for Hiccup to show. When he entered the room, he stood front and center before everyone with a stern look on his face. One that matched the faces of everyone in the room."Alright guys we have done everything we could to keep the village safe but now this threat is something different, this time it's war but not with other nations. We are at war with a ghost."
