The adrenaline faded from Cat Noir and he wrapped his arms across his chest. He was cold, scared, and alone. The cold was nothing, but being alone? That was scarier then any akuma that he had ever faced.
The wind picked up, snow settling into his hair, and his tail waved in the wind. It was time to go home. But Cat didn't want to go home where it was cold and dark, without warmth and love. Still, his feet trudged through the snow. A lonely kitty on a cold winter's night.
As Cat walked with a head bowed, a girl watched him through the window, her heart aching for him. It was Marinette, also Ladybug, though Cat didn't that. She loved her partner. Her gentle, caring partner would no doubt give her the moon to cheer her up. She couldn't give him the moon, but she could give him some love.
As she stepped out into the wind, snowflakes immediately made their way into her black hair, but she didn't notice. "Cat!" she called, above the wind.
And hear it, Cat did. He stopped, his aching heart lifting, and he turned to find Marinette staring at him a little ways off. "Cat, come in from the cold and get warm," she said, offering her hand. Cat sniffled, looking down at her hand. "Princess?" "Come on, Cat. Its cold outside."
With a shaky hand, Cat slid his fingers into hers. Warmth immediately rushed through him like the very first warm day of spring. His Princess cared.
Once the got inside, Marinette got a blanket as Cat sat on the couch. "I'll have supper in a jiffy," she said.
Cat nodded, quiet, watching the pretty Christmas lights of the tree. But more what caught his eye was the Christmas family photo of Marinette's family. Oh, how he yearned for a family like hers. Cat shuffled the blanket around, and relaxed. Then, he realized that this was home. The aching feeling was gone. Here he was loved and cared for, hugs and kisses, advice. It was was all here.
"Here you go. Eat up," Marinette said, setting a tray of soup and warm crusty bread in front of him. Cat looked up at her and smiled, tears glistening in his eyes. "Thank you, Marinette. This feels like home."
After Cat had eaten his meal, Marinette snuggled into his side and he put his arm around her. Now at home, well-fed cozy and safe, Cat watched the gently falling snow with his Princess until they fell asleep.
