Huntresses of Fairy Tail

"Legends, stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily, that we are remnants, by-products of a forgotten past.

Man born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful. But he was born into an unforgiving world. An inevitable darkness, creatures of destruction.

The creatures of Grimm set their sights on man, and all of his creations. These forces clashed and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man's brief existence to the void. However even the smallest spark of hope, is enough to ignite change and in time, man's passion, resourcefulness and ingenuity, led them to the tools that would help even the odds. This power was appropriately named 'Dust'.

Nature's wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness, and in the shadow's absence, came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life.

But even the most brilliant lights, eventually flicker and die; and when they're gone… darkness will return.

But the dark cannot live without the light, nor can the light live without the dark. The light will return from even the tiniest of sparks, and burst into a brilliant flame to burn on for centuries."

"Oh I can't believe my baby sister's going to Beacon with me. This is the best day ever." Yang Xiao Long shouted, hugging her sister Ruby tightly.

Yang was a fair skinned, well built young woman with lilac eyes and bright golden blonde hair tied into a ponytail, fading to pale gold color at the tips, with an ahoge sticking out at the top.

She was dressed in a tan crop cut hooded vest, bearing her midriff, over an open back yellow halter top with a cut out heart shaped hole over the center of her chest, showing her cleavage, with her emblem, a flaming heart, sewn into the fabric on her left breast in black. Around her waist, she wore black belt covered by a pleated brown piece of material reaching from hip to hip around the back of her waist, with her emblem emblazoned on the right-most pleat in gold. Underneath this she wore a pair of black mini-shorts over a pair of black tights, with a pair of brown, knee-high boots and orange over-the-knee socks, with the right sock pushed down just below the knee. A violet bandanna is tied around her left knee, with an orange bandanna tied around her neck, and black fingerless forearm gloves with armored plating, and golden bracelets on her wrists completing her outfit. Breast Size: I-Cup.

"Please stop…" Ruby asked, as she tried forcing her way out of Yangs smothering chest.

Ruby Rose, a fair-skinned young girl with silver eyes and black neck-length, choppy hair grading to dark red at the tips.

She wore a black red lined corset over a sleeveless mesh top, accompanied by a red and black cropped vest with black armored shoulder pads, and the straps going a bit down her upper arms, with a black choker around her neck. She wears a red pleated skirt that is split at the side with a small brown belted strap across the gap, and bright red shorts, over top a pair of mesh tights, under it. Her forearms were covered in slim fitting black bracers with a red design around the wrists, and the back edges of the gloves, while connected to a pair of black fingerless gloves.

Around her waist, she wore a brown belt with several bullets, and a buckle of her personal emblem, a flaming rose, alongside a pouch on her left hip with a canine based emblem on the flap. She wears black, steel-toe boots with red soles and heels, going up the length of her foreleg, and stopping just under the knees with a red ring wrapping around the top edges. In addition, the cape around her neck possesses a hood, and is made of a highly durable material, and it was held together, by a red gemstone pendant that acted as a button. Breast Size: F-Cup.

"But I'm so proud of you…" Yang smiled letting go of the hug, jumping a bit. "Making it into Beacon this early, just like mom. Oh, she would be so proud of you."

"Please sis, it was nothing." Ruby said, freeing herself from her sister's smothering hug.

"What do you mean? It was incredible, everyone at Beacon is going to think you're the bee's knees." Yang smiled.

"I don't want to be the bee's knees, I don't want to be any kind of knees. I just wanna be a normal girl with normal knees." Ruby deadpanned.

"What is with you aren't you excited?" Yang asked.

"Of course I'm excited, it's just… I got moved ahead two years. I don't want people to think I'm special or anything." Ruby sighed.

"But you are special." Yang smiled, putting her arm around her shoulder. "An' there's nothing wrong, with being special."

Their attention was drawn to the screen playing the news of the robbery that Ruby stopped two nights ago.

"Police are still investigating a string of robberies across the City of Vale, one in which thwarted and led by nefarious criminal known as Roman Torchwhick, who continues to evade authorities. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Vale police department." The newsman stated. "Back to you Lisa."

"Thank you Zero." The anchor woman stated. "In other news, this Saturdays Faunus civil rights protest turned dark, when members of the white fang disrupted the ceremony. The once peaceful organization has now disrupted…" Before the news broadcast could continue on, it was interrupted as Ms. Goodwitch's hologram form appeared and started to address the potential students.

"Hello and welcome to Beacon." She said.

"Who's that?" Yang asked.

"My name is Glynda Goodwitch,"

"Oh."

"You are among the privileged few who have received the honor to attend this prestigious academy. Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future huntsmen and huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now, it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world." As she finished this, Glynda's hologram form disappeared.

"Oh wow." Ruby stated running to see the view from the window. "Look, you can see signal from up here. I guess home isn't too far after all."

"Beacon's our home now." Yang smiled holding her sister close.

Over in one of the corners of the Airship, was a dirty blonde haired man dressed in a hoodie and armor, about ready to blow his cookies.

"Well, I guess the view's not for everyone." Yang smiled.

"It was nice while it lasted." Ruby sighed. "I wonder who we're going to meet."

"Hope they're better than vomit boy." Yang chuckled.

"Yang, you got some vomit on your shoe." Ruby pointed out.

"Oh gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross."

"Get away, oh get away." Ruby stated stepping away from her sister.

~Later~

As the Airship made its way to the landing dock, vomit boy was the first to get out and throw his cookies in the nearest trashcan.

Ruby and Yang all walked along the path together, Ruby got excited, seeing all the different weapons. She nearly floated off if it weren't for the fact Yang pulled her back by her cape.

"Easy there little sister, they're just weapons." Yang stated.

"Just weapons? They're an extension of ourselves, a part of us." Ruby stated. "Oh they're so cool."

"Well why can't you swoon over your own weapon? Aren't you happy with it?" Yang questioned.

"Of course I'm happy with my Crescent Rose. I just really like seeing new ones." Ruby stated. "With weapons, it's like meeting new people, but better."

"Ruby c'mon, why don't you go try and make some friends of your own?" Yang asked pulling Ruby's hood over her eyes.

"But, why would I need friends when I have you?" Ruby asked.

"Well… actually my friends are here. Gotta go catch up, kay see you, bye." Yang stated at lightning fast speed, running past Ruby making her spin in circles.

"Wait, where are you going? Are we supposed to go to our dorms? Where are our dorms? Do we have dorms? I don't know what I'm doing." Ruby asked as she fell over just as she toppled over some suitcases.

"What are you doing?" A pompous voice asked.

Ruby sat herself up, still visibly dizzy, and looked up to see who was getting mad and yelling at her.

The young woman's attire consisted of a short, glittering dress with a color gradation of icy blue to pale blue at the hem, with a sweetheart neckline, accompanied by a 3/4th sleeved bolerose jacket, and a blue off-white pair of pants, with snowflake patterns sewn into the fabric. A white sash is wrapped tightly multiple times around her waist, with three apple themed pendants dangling from the clip holding the sash in place. Printed on the back of the bolerose is a snowflake themed crest, sitting in the middle of her shoulder blades. Completing her attire are a pair of sky high white/icy blue wedged combat heels, and sapphire drop earrings, with her hair done up in a side ponytail. Breast Size: D-Cup.

"Uh… sorry." Ruby stated as picked herself up.

"Sorry? Do you have any idea how much damage you could have caused?" The girl dressed in white asked.

"Uh…" Ruby didn't know what to say as she picked up a suitcase.

"Give me that." The girl stated taking the case in Ruby's hands. "This is Dust, and Lacrima, mined and purified from the Schnee Quarry."

"Uh…"

"What are you brain dead?" The Schnee girl asked pulling out a jar of dust. "Dust, Lacrima. Fire, Water, Lightning, Energy." She stated shaking around the cracked jar not noticing as Ruby was breathing in more than once without letting a breath out, and that only meant one thing.

"Achoo." Ruby shouted as she sneezed, creating a small explosion.

"Unbelievable, this is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about!" The girl said as the dust settled.

"I'm really, really sorry." Ruby stated poking her fingers together.

"Ugh, you complete dolt, what are you even doing here? Aren't you a little young to be attending Beacon?"

"I said I was sorry, it was an accident, or is your ego so big you only choose to hear certain things I say, Princess?" Ruby said, defensively.

"It's heiress actually."

The girl standing there was wearing a sleeveless black crop top, as well as a belt attached from behind, making it more like a sports bra, with rectangular and diamond-shaped cutouts around the neckline, adorned with purple outlines. Over top of this she wears a white tailcoat that's dark purple on the inside, with a single silver button on the front, keeping it closed right under her chest, and a detached sleeve on the left arm, with a silver cuff around her bicep. She wears black leggings with matching low-heeled combat boots, with a color gradation of black to purple at her ankles. Her emblem is visible on the outside of both thighs just below her hips in white. A small, loose scarf is wrapped around her neck and a gray magnetic backpack is strapped to her back, hidden by her hair which was in a thick braid, with a ribbon tied into a large bow on the top of her head, and with violet purple eyeshadow in catseye style. Breast Size: H-Cups.

"Weiss Schnee. Heiress to the Schnee Dust and Lacrima Company. One of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world."

"Finally, some recognition." Weiss stated sounding all stuck up.

"The same company infamous for its controversial labor forces, and questionable business partners." The new girl stated with a hint of agitation.

"What-how dare- the nerve of-" Meanwhile, Ruby was giggling away at Weiss's stammering, trying to hold in her laughter. "Give me that." She exclaimed, taking the bottle back from the girl and storming off.

"I promise I'll make this up to you…" Ruby called out to her. "Hey thanks for…" Ruby stopped, when she noticed the girl who stepped in, was already walking away. With a sigh of defeat, Ruby fell to her knees, and plopped down on her back. "Welcome to Beacon."

"Hey." A voice said, as a shadow loomed over Ruby, showing it was Vomit Boy, who stepped up to her. "Need a hand?"

After a short while, Ruby and Vomit Boy were walking around the campus, having a casual conversation.

"But Motion Sickness is not that uncommon, if you think about it." The young man, who introduced himself as Jaune, said walking alongside Ruby.

"Look I'm sorry, but vomit boy was the first thing that came to mind." Ruby sighed.

"Oh yeah, what if I called you crater face?"

"Hey that explosion was an accident." Ruby stated.

"Still happened." Jaune said.

There was another moment of silence, before Ruby spoke up again.

"So, I got this thing." Ruby stated pulling out Crescent Rose in its scythe form.

"Whoa, is that a scythe?" Jaune asked.

"It's also a full automated sniper rifle." Ruby smiled.

"A what?"

"It's also a gun."

"Cool, I only have my sword and shield. When I get tired of carrying it, I just fold it into a scabbard." Jaune explained.

"But doesn't it weigh the same?" Ruby asked.

"Yeah, it does."

"Well, I am a bit of a dork when it comes to weapons. I guess I did go a little overboard in designing mine." Ruby said.

"Wait, you made that?" Jaune asked.

"Of course. All students at signal forge their own weapons. Didn't you make yours?" Ruby asked.

"It's a hand-me-down. My great-great-grandfather used it to fight in the war." Jaune explained.

"I like it, not many people have an appreciation for the classics these days." Ruby smiled.

"So what made you want to talk me?" Ruby asked.

"Eh, why not. My mom always says, strangers are just friends you haven't met yet." Jaune smiled.

"Hmm, where are we going?" Ruby asked.

"I don't know, I was just following you." Jaune stated.

~Ceremony Hall~

"Ruby, over here. I saved you a spot." Yang called out as Ruby and Jaune stepped into the meeting hall.

"Hey, gotta go, it was nice meeting you." Ruby stated before zipping off. "I'll see you after the ceremony."

"Hey wait." Jaune called out before Ruby was gone. "Great, where am I supposed to find another nice, quirky girl to talk to?"

"How's your first day going?" Yang asked as they made their way to her side.

"You mean since you ditched me and I exploded?" Ruby asked.

"Yikes, meltdown already?" Yang asked.

"No, I literally exploded a hole in front of the school, I think there was some lightning and ice to." Ruby exclaimed.

"Are you being sarcastic?" Yang asked with a cheeky grin.

"-Ugh I wish. I tripped over some crappy girl's luggage, and then she yelled at me, and then I sneezed, then I exploded, then she yelled at me again, and I felt really, really bad, and I just wanted her to stop yelling at me." Ruby droned on, not noticing Weiss behind her.

"You." Weiss shouted, causing Ruby to jump into Yang's arms.

"Oh God, it's happening again," Ruby cried.

"You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff." Weiss stated.

"Oh my god you really did explode." Yang deadpanned, before putting Ruby down. "Let me stop you right there. What did my sister do?"

"She tripped over my luggage, and nearly caused a catastrophe." Weiss said.

"You were the one shaking the bottle of Dust in my face." Ruby said.

"You shook a bottle of Dust in her face?" Yang asked.

"So what?"

"Do you even know rule number one, about handling Dust?" Yang questioned.

"Of course I do, I'm Weiss Schnee."

"Then I don't understand why you would ignore the most important rule about handling Dust with care, and not to do anything reckless with it, like shaking a bottle of the stuff." Yang stated cause Weiss to freeze. "Sounds like you're the reason there was an explosion, not Ruby."

"How dare you say that I…"

"Ahem… I'll make this brief." Ozpin stated from the stage, stopping Yang and Weiss from continuing their argument. "You have traveled here today in search of knowledge. To hone your magics and your crafts, and acquire new skills; and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy and potential, in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school, will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you, to take the first step."

Ozpin left, leaving Glynda to give directions.

"You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, you're initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed."

"He seemed kind of, off." Yang explained.

"Almost like he wasn't even there." Ruby added.

~Ballroom That Night~

"It's like a big slumber party." Yang said, flopping down on her sleeping bag, wearing an orange crop top that didn't cover the bottom half of her chest, and black short-shorts.

"I'm pretty sure dad wouldn't approve of all the boys though." Ruby said, writing down in her notebook.

"I know I do." Yang said with a purr, before she cringed when Jaune walked by in a pink onsie with a rabbit on the chest. "Gonna forget I saw that." She stated, pulling a magazine out from under her pillow.

"What's that?" Ruby asked.

"Latest issue of Sorcerer Weekly. Packed it before we left." Yang said. "Oh man, they went and did it again."

"Who?"

"Who else? Fairy Tail nearly destroyed a whole town during their last job." Yang smiled. "Oh, and the God of War is finally gonna show himself, and become a model for Sorcerer Weekly with Mirajane. He's probably gonna join her in the centerfolds. Oh but that issue won't come out until next month. I can't wait until then, I wanna see him now."

"Hey Yang?" Ruby asked.

"Yeah sis?"

"Can I ask you something?"

"You know you can ask me anything sis." Yang smiled.

"Do you think, he's, okay?" Ruby asked, the air between them growing tense. "We haven't seen him, for almost ten years."

"Yeah." Yang sighed, putting her magazine on her chest. "Having gone missing for seven years, you'd think he'd have been found by now. We might wanna start facing reality, Ruby."

"He has to be alive, he's just gotta." Ruby said, not wanting to accept it.

"I know you wanna believe that, but the harsh reality is it's a cruel world out there." Yang said. "An' him being as weak as he was, I don't think there was even a chance of him surviving out there on his own, especially if he was kidnapped by those Faunus Slave Traders dad's always warning us about."

"I don't see why he'd have to warn us though. He's a Faunus, we're not." Ruby said.

"True, but you know as well as I, Faunus aren't the only race of people they deal business in." Yang said. "Girls like us, would be prime targets for them, with the way our bodies have developed."

"I guess you're right." Ruby sighed, before her ears perked up, and she turned to see the black haired girl from before. "That girl."

"You know her?" Yang asked.

"Kind of, she stood up to Weiss earlier after the explosion happened." Ruby said. "I never got her name though."

"Well, no time like the present then." Yang said, picking herself up, and grabbing Ruby's wrist.

"No wait, Yang what are you doing?"

"Come on, you need to make more friends. An' I know this is the perfect opportunity." Yang smiled, dragging Ruby behind her to the black haired girl. "Hello."

"Hi."

"I believe you two have already met." Yang said.

"Hey there."

"Aren't you… the girl from earlier?"

"Yeah, my name's Ruby, but you can call me… never mind, just call me Ruby." Ruby said, as she corrected herself. "So what's your name?"

"I'm Blake."

"Well Blake, I'm Yang, Ruby's older sister." Yang said. "I like your bow, it goes great with your pajamas."

"Mmm."

"Nice night, don't you think?" Yang asked.

"Yes, almost as nice as this book, which I'm gonna read. Once you're gone." Blake said.

"Yeah, this girl's a lost cause." Yang said.

"What's it about?" Ruby asked.

"Mmm?"

"Your book? What's it about?"

"Oh, it's about a man with two souls, each of them fighting for dominance over who controls it." Blake said, surprised Ruby would be interested in her book.

"That's nice. I used to love the stories Yang would read to me as a little girl. Adventures full of daring heroes, and romance. I always dreamed about being a hero like that." Ruby said.

"Hoping to live happily ever after?" Blake asked.

"I'm hoping we all will." Ruby stated.

"That's very ambitious for a child. Unfortunately, that's not how the real world works." Blake said. "Life isn't some fantasy or fairy tale."

"Well, that's why we're here. To make the world a better place, and to give the people of our world hope." Ruby said.

"Oh, I'm so proud of you Ruby." Yang said, pulling Ruby into a hug.

"No, Yang stop. Let go of me." Ruby complained, before they broke out into a cartoonish fight cloud.

"Well Yang, Ruby, it was nice too meet…"

"What is going on here?" Weiss questioned, interrupting Blake as she came over to their group, dressed in her nightie with her hair down. "People are trying to sleep." She stated as the fight cloud broke up, and she met eyes with Yang.

"Oh not you again." The two girls said.

"Shh, guys she's right. There are people trying to sleep." Ruby said, shushing them.

"Oh, so now you're on my side?" Weiss asked.

"I was always on your side." Ruby said.

"Yeah, what's your problem with my sister?" Yang asked aggressively.

"She's a hazard to my health."

Seeing as she wasn't gonna get anymore reading done, Blake pulled the candelabra towards her, and blew out the candles.

~The Following Morning~

"Mmm, I wonder what those two are so worked up about." Ruby said, as an orange haired girl and a black haired boy, walked past them.

"Oh who knows? So, you seem awfully chipper this morning." Yang said, turning to Ruby and crossing her arms.

"Yep. No more awkward small talk, or getting to know you stuff. Today, I get to let my sweetheart do all the talking." Ruby said, pulling Crescent Rose out from her locker and caressing the weapon lovingly.

"Well remember Ruby, you're not the only one, going through initiation." Yang said. "If you wanna grow up, you're gonna have to meet new people, and learn to work together."

"Ugh, you sound like dad." Ruby groaned. "Okay, first of all what does meeting people have to do with fighting? An' secondly, I don't need people to help me grow up, I drink milk."

"But what about when we form teams?" Yang asked.

"I don't know, I'll just be on your team, or something." Ruby said, sounding a bit more nervous now.

"Maybe you should try being on someone else's team." Yang said, fidgeting with her hair.

"My dear sister Yang, are you implying you do not wish to be on the same team as me?"

"What? No, of course I do. I just think that being on a different team, might help you to break out of your shell." Yang said.

"What? I don't need to break out of my shell, that's absolutely…"

"Ridiculous." Jaune said walking past them, as he searched for his locker. "There's no way I put my gear in locker 636 yesterday, I'd have to remember having to count that high."

"What's Jaune's deal?" Yang asked as her fellow blonde walked further through the locker prep room.

"He's a bit of an oddball, but he's a good guy. Probably just can't find the locker he put his stuff in." Ruby said.

"Ooh, what do you thinks going on between Weiss, and that redhead?" Yang asked, spotting her hated white haired enemy as she was talking with the armored redhead.

"Seems like she's trying to get an early score at a teammate." Ruby said. "Oh, Jaune's back."

"Looks like he's flirting with… did he seriously just call her snow angel?" Yang asked with a laugh.

"Oooh, looks like he's been pinned, by a spear."

"Would all first year students, please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation. Again, all first year students report to Beacon Cliff, immediately." Glynda's voice came over the PA System.

"Let's go help him." Ruby said, as they went to help him.

"Having some trouble there, Lady Killer?" Yang asked as Ruby helped Jaune up.

"I don't understand." Jaune said. "My dad said all girls look for is confidence. Where did I go wrong?"

"Snow Angel, probably wasn't the best start." Yang said with a chuckle as they walked off.

"Come on Jaune, let's go." Ruby said.

~Beacon Cliffs~

"For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest." Ozpin explained.

"Now I'm sure you've heard rumors about the assignment of teams. Well allow us to put an end to your confusion." Glynda stated. "Each of you will be given teammates, today."

"What… oh." Ruby said, a bit scared.

"These teammates will be here with you for the rest of your stay here at Beacon. So it is within your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well." Ozpin added. Ruby gave off some more scared noises, not wanting to be paired with someone she didn't get along with. "That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing, will be your partner for the next four years."

Ruby's world shattered around her, hearing the Headmaster say those things.

"What?" Ruby asked extremely scared.

"See, I told you." The orange haired girl from earlier stated to her friend, smacking his shoulder.

"After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way, do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path, or you will die." Ozpin stated.

"My kind of day." Yang smiled, punching her fists together, creating sparks.

Jaune gave a nervous laugh and gulped in fear.

"You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple, at the end of the path, containing several relics. Each pair must choose one, and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately." Ozpin explained. "Are there any questions?"

"Yeah, um sir-" Jaune started.

"Good, now take your positions." Ozpin instructed, ignoring Jaune's inquiry.

"Um sir? I've got, um, a question." Jaune stated. "So this, landing strategy thing, uh, w-what is it, you're like dropping us off or something?"

"No, you will be falling." Ozpin stated.

"Oh, I see. So like, did you hand out parachutes for us?" Jaune asked, his face going pale.

"No. You will be using your own landing strategy." Ozpin stated as Ruby was launched.

"Oh I see, so what exactly is a landing…" Jaune was unable to finish his question, as he was launched from the cliffside, and screamed his lungs out, all while Ozpin simply watched and sipped his coffee.

~Yang~

"Alright, so thanks to my flames, and the shotgun blasts from my Ember Celica, I flew farther then the others." Yang said, wandering through the Emerald Forest. "Let's see if I can find my way to the ruins. Maybe I'll find Ruby while I'm at it."

Passing along the trees, Yang seemed peacefully content with wondering the forest for a while. She enjoyed nature, and everything it had to offer. She only paused when she heard a rustling and light growling coming from the bushes.

"Ruby, is that you?" Yang questioned, parting the bushes, before she looked up at the figure that towered over her. "Nope."

Jumping back with the recoil of her Ember Celica, Yang evaded a strike from one of the Ursa that swiped at her, before rolling to the side and evading the other as it charged at her.

"Ha, you two could hit the broad side of… a… barn." Yang began to taper off, when she noticed a strand of her hair falling to the ground. "Oh that is it. YOU'RE DEAD." She shouted, her hair and arms igniting with dark red fire, as scales appeared on her cheeks, forearms, and hips, as she charged at one of the Ursa. "Purgatory Dragon: DEATH STRIKE."

The Grimm was unable to defend itself, as the power behind Yang's strike forced it to bend forward, and cry out in pain as a pillar of fire was shot right through its stomach, before the Grimm was dusted.

Turning towards the other Ursa, Yang prepared to strike it down as well, before a shadow shot past her, and vanished behind the Ursa.

"Shadow Slicer."

Several blades of shadows came circling through the air around the Grimm, before the Ursa fell to pieces, and dusted in front of Yangs eyes, revealing Blake standing behind the Grimm.

"Blake." Yang smiled. "Looks like we're partners now."

"Looks like." Blake said, sheathing her weapon on her back with a smile.

"Wanna get going?" Yang asked.

"Temple is this way." Blake stated, leading the way.

~Ruby~

"Hey, what's the rush?" Ruby questioned, running after Weiss.

"I would rather not be delayed and loose time, just because you're so slow." Weiss stated, annoyed she was paired with Ruby instead of Pyrrha.

Ruby just looked at Weiss with a minor glare, before rushing forward, leaving a trail of rose petals behind, taking Weiss by surprise as she took the lead.

"See, I'm not slow at all." Ruby smiled, looking back over her shoulder at Weiss.

"That's her Semblance." Weiss gasped.

"Don't worry Weiss, I'll show you what I can do. You're gonna see a whole different side of me." Ruby smiled.

"Well, only a child feels the need to show off their abilities." Weiss said, turning to walk to the right.

"Hey, wait." Ruby said, running after Weiss.

"Now that I think of it, you look like a child." Weiss stated. "Are you sure you're old enough to enroll?"

"Well, not exactly. I skipped ahead." Ruby stated.

"You skipped ahead?" Weiss questioned. "So you really are a child then."

Before Ruby could retort, the bushes around them began to rustle, as a pack of Beowolves came out of nowhere, and surrounded them.

"Uh oh." Ruby sighed.

~Ozpin~

"The last of the students have been paired up. Lie Ren, and Nora Valkyrie." Glynda said, coming up behind Ozpin with the news for him. "Poor boy, I couldn't possibly imagine those two getting along."

"I wouldn't be so quick to judge Glynda." Ozpin said. "From how I've seen them interact, I would say that those two have been glued at the hip, for quite a few years, if not most of their lives."

"Still, I'm not quite sold on this Jaune fellow." Glynda said. "I don't care what his transcripts say, I do not believe he's ready for…"

Glynda was stopped, when Ozpin's Scroll, began to go off.

"Apologies Glynda." Ozpin said, before answering the call. "This is Professor Ozpin."

"Glad I got a hold of you old friend."

"Ah, Makarov. It's so good to hear from you old chum. To what do I owe the call?"

"I wish we could catch up, but I'm afraid I'm gonna have to skip the pleasantries. Have you already started the exams for the potential first years?" Makarov questioned.

"I have. They've been proceeding for a couple of hours now."

"That's bad."

"What is?"

"One of my children, has been sent out to apprehend the Master of the Dark Guild Eisenwald, Erigor the Reaper, dead or alive. After the Lullaby incident that happened, he managed to get away, so I sent one of my best after him." Makarov stated. "During his last report, not ten minutes ago, he reported Erigor had fled into the Emerald Forest, and when I realized you'd be conducting your exams, I had hoped you'd be able to pause them until Erigor's capture."

"If this report had come in sooner, then I might have." Ozpin sighed. "But I'm afraid there's nothing more I can do now, other then put my faith into your child's hands. Who did you send?"

"A young Faunus, with extraordinary gifts." Makarov said. "He's the one Gildarts saved all those years ago. Surely you remember him, if not by his description, then by his title."

Ozpin smiled upon hearing this. "Ah yes, I do remember him. A fine young man who was gifted the strength of the Gods, hence his title, the God of War."

"Damn that brat. How the hell is he so strong? An' why of all the Huntsmen in Fiore, did I have to have the damn God of War sent after me?" Erigor, former Master of the Dark Guild Eisenwald, questioned as he sat next to a fallen tree, catching his breath. "I should be safe here, in the Emerald Forest, at least for now."

Looking around, Erigor noticed how the tree he was leaning against, had been cut clean through the trunk, with a single slice.

"The blade that did this, must be incredibly sharp." He pondered aloud, looking to his own weapon. "Had to have been a Death Scythe, similar to mine, and the cut is still fresh. I wonder." As he was thinking, a thought came to him, and he smirked at the plan developed by his own demented mind. "This is the Emerald Forest, and given the time of year, Beacon's holding its entrance exams for the first years. If I can take at least one of them hostage, then I'll have leverage to use to escape this nightmare."

Getting up, Erigor found two sets of footprints, and began following them, honestly believing that his plan was fool proof.

"Looks like I'll be getting away after all." Erigor smiled.

~Yang & Blake~

"Think this is it?" Yang questioned, as she and Blake stood on the crest of a hill, overlooking some ancient looking ruins, before they went walking down to the shambled buildings.

Once there, they immediate noticed two things about the relics, that caught their attention.

"Looks like there are some missing. We weren't the first ones here." Yang said.

"Chess pieces?" Blake asked, looking at the pieces. "These don't seem to be like any chess pieces I've ever seen before."

"The King's look like wizard, the Queens look like Human Grimm, the other pieces look normal, aside from the knights. They look like, lightning bolt emblems." Yang said. "An' the white pieces are gold, with the black pieces being red."

"These do seem weird." Blake said.

"Either way, I think this should do." Yang said, grabbing a gold lightning bolt.

"Agreed." Blake smiled, coming to Yang's side.

"That wasn't too hard." Yang said.

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH." The echoing scream of what sounded like a girl, resonated through the forest.

"Some girl's in trouble." Yang said, as Blake looked up. "Blake did you hear that? What should we do?" The blonde questioned, turning around to look at her partner, finding her starring up into the sky. "Blake?" She asked, before looking upwards with her partner.

"HEADS UP!" Ruby shouted as she came falling out of the sky.

"Ruby?" Yang questioned.

As Ruby was about fifty feet from falling to the ground, Jaune came flying through the air, and slammed into the hooded reaper, knocking them both into a tree.

"Did your sister just fall from the sky?" Blake questioned.

"I…"

The trees in the forest began to part as an Ursa came rushing through, swinging its arms wildly, before an explosion on its back detonated, and it fell over, knocking Nora off its back, and tumbling forward.

"Aw, it's broken." Nora said, sounding disappointed, while her friend Ren, came out of the forest, out of breath, and bent over trying to catch it. "Ew."

"Nora." Ren said. "Please, don't ever do that again." Ren looked up at the head of the Ursa to find Nora was gone. He looked behind himself, but couldn't find her, until he looked towards the temple ruins.

"Oooh." Nora said in fascination as she looked at a White Rook piece, before taking it and she began singing while taking on various different poses. "I'm queen of the castle, I'm queen of the castle."

"NORA." Ren called out.

"Coming Ren." Nora said with a fake salute, allowing the chess piece to fall from her head to her hand.

"Did that girl just ride in on an Ursa?" Blake questioned.

"I…"

The sound of a monster screaming caught their attention, as a red haired amazonian woman, came running in with a giant Deathstalker chasing after her.

"Jaune." The redhead called out.

"Pyrrha." Jaune called to her as Ruby jumped down from the tree.

"Whoa." Ruby said, wanting a piece of the action.

"Ruby." Jaune called to the little reaper.

"Ruby?" Yang questioned.

"Yang." Ruby cheered as they went in for a hug, but were interrupted when a certain orange haired ginger popped up between them.

"Nora."

The situation involving the Deathstalker brought them all back to reality, as Pyrrha was busy trying to fend herself from its attacks.

"Did she just run all the way here with a Deathstalker on her tail?" Blake asked, as Yang was not at the breaking point.

"GRRRR. I can't take it anymore. Could everybody just chill out for two seconds before something crazy happens again?" Yang shouted.

"Um Yang?" Ruby said, pointing upwards, causing the blonde to slump in defeat.

Looking up, they all saw a giant Nevermore circling around them, and on one of its talons, was a speck of white, flailing about.

"How could you leave me?" Weiss's voice called from the sky.

"I said jump." Ruby replied as they were all looking upwards.

"She's gonna fall." Blake said.

"She'll be fine." Ruby said.

"She's falling." Ren said.

As Weiss fell from the sky, Jaune was up on his feet in the tree, and thinking like an action star, leapt out to catch the heiress in his arms, before reality hit him, and they both fell. With a hard and loud thump, Jaune landed on the ground, with Weiss landing on his back.

"My hero." Weiss said, sarcastically.

"My… spine…" Jaune groaned.

"That had to hurt." Ren winced, right before Pyrrha was knocked back by the Deathstalker, and landed at their feet.

"Great, the gang's all here. Now we can die together." Yang said.

"That's not funny Yang." Blake said.

"An' not if I can help it." Ruby said, as she went running at the Deathstalker.

"Ruby, wait." Yang called out to her sister.

Ruby pulled out Crescent Rose as she continued her collision course with the Deathstalker, firing off a couple shots before she was knocked away, by one of its giant pincers.

"D-Do-Don't worry. Totally fine." Ruby stated steadily getting back up.

Ruby turned around to become face to face with the Deathstalker, before firing off a round and using the recoil to jump back, running away from it.

"Ruby, get out of there, now." Yang cried out.

Ruby folded Crescent Rose back up and placed it on its holder under her cape and hood, as she kept running.

"Ruby." Yang shouted as she went running out to help her sister.

The Nevermore from earlier came circling back and used its blade like feathers to block Yang's progress, and pinned Ruby down by her cloak.

"Ruby, get out of there." Yang shouted.

"I'm trying." Ruby shouted back, pulling on her cape.

The Deathstalker came running up at Ruby from behind, its stinger ready to strike her down.

"Ruby." Yang shouted.

"Storm Bringer!" Someone's voice echoed out, as a gust of wind sent the Deathstalker away from Ruby, and into the Nevermore, sending them both to the ground, before they were impaled by a tree, as if it were a spear.

"Ruby." Yang cried out in horror.

Ruby opened her eyes, to find a scythe blade under her jaw, and against her throat. Looking up, she saw the face of the weapon's wielder, and recognized him from the news, as Erigor the Reaper.

"You're coming with me girly." Erigor said, forcing Ruby to her feet.

"Let her go." Yang called out.

"Not another step, or her head roles." Erigor warned, stopping Yang as the blonde tried running towards them. "That's a good girl."

"What do you want with me?" Ruby asked a bit frightened.

"If I take you hostage, then the God of War will back off. You're my ticket to escaping and I'm not gonna let you go so easily." Erigor stated.

"The God of War? As in one of the strongest mages in Fairy Tail?" Jaune asked.

"He's here in the Emerald Forest?" Weiss asked.

"An' he's after me. I tried to end the legal guild system with the cursed Lullaby Flute, but he and his team thwarted my plans, before arresting my entire guild. So now I'm on the run, with him hot on my trail." Erigor said. "But I found myself in a bit of luck when I got to the Emerald Forest, as I remembered that Ozpin was having his annual initiation exams."

"Bastard." Yang growled.

"Yang stop, I'll be fine." Ruby said, before Erigor began pulling on her.

"Let's go, if any of you even think about following I'll slice her head off." Erigor stated.

"Then it's a good thing I am here."

Erigor's eyes widened, when he felt a hand grip his forearm, and clench down on it hard, before he heard a snapping sound, and he cried out in pain, dropping his weapon.

With the blade out of her face, Ruby ran for freedom and stopped in front of their group, their eyes wide when they saw who was standing there.

Standing there in front of them, or rather floating off the ground, was a fair skinned, dark hair young man with blue eyes. His attire consisted of an obsidian hooded vest, over a white short-sleeved t-shirt. On his forearms they saw silver bracers most likely made of some metal or silver element. He wore baggy black camouflage cargo pants, with a white belt with an 'S' shaped crest in a shield on the buckle. He wore a pair of military boots with steel toes and iron soles on them, with a lightning bolt design either printed or sewn into the material of the heels and ankles. On his head he had a pair tinted lens goggles. His body showed he was quite muscular, with the definition of his muscles clear to see from where the students stood.

"Who is that?" Weiss asked.

"It can't be." Yang gasped. "Ruby, you're seeing this too right?"

"I'm seeing it, but I'm still having a hard time believing it." Ruby said, tears in her eyes.

"Damn… damn you." Erigor exclaimed, pulling back away from the man who broke his arm. "How did you find me so fast?"

"Was pretty easy." The man said. "I just sensed the magic you used when killing those Grimm, and I rushed over here."

"Curses." Erigor tsked. "No matter. I'm still getting out of here. An' there's nothing you can do to…"

Erigor's words were stopped, when his opponent was suddenly in his face, and his fist buried in the Dark Mage's stomach, forcing him to bend forward, before his eyes rolled into the back of his head, and he fell to the ground.

With a sigh of relief, the young man who saved Ruby landed on his feet, and picked up Erigor, before throwing him over his shoulder.

"Sorry for disturbing your exams. But I've been hunting this villain down for a while, so please forgive my interruption." He said, turning to leave.

"Hold on, wait a second." Yang called out as she and Ruby ran up to him, forcing the young man to remain still. "Where the hell have you been all these years, what the hell happened to you?"

"You never got in contact with us after you disappeared, and we thought you were dead." Ruby added.

"Do you know how hard it's been, trying to move on from your death?" Yang asked. "Answer us, where the hell have you been all this time Raion?"

There was a moment of silence, before Raion looked over his shoulder to them, and they saw the pained look in his eyes, before what he said next shocked them.

"Sorry, but I'm afraid you've got me confused, with someone else." Raion stated, before turning to leave, and taking to the air as he flew away with Erigor over his shoulder.

~Team Ceremony~

"Russel Thrush. Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing. Sky Lark. The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as… Team CRDL [Cardinal]. Lead by, Cardin Winchester." Ozpin announced, before the newly named Team CRDL left the stage, leaving it ready for the next four. "Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as… Team JNPR [Juniper]. Lead by, Jaune Arc."

"Huh? L-Lead by…?" Jaune questioned in shock.

"Congratulations, young man." Ozpin smiled.

Pyrrha playfully punched Jaune in the shoulder, and whether he was just that weak, or Pyrrha hit him too hard, Jaune fell to the ground, causing everyone in the auditorium to laugh.

"Finally, Blake Belladonna. Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. Yang Xiao Long." Ozpin said, as the four members came out. "The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as… Team RWBY {Ruby}. Lead by… Ruby Rose."

Weiss was shocked to hear someone two years younger than her, would be leading the team instead of her. Something she did not agree with.

Normally, Yang would be all proud of Ruby and pulling her in for a hug and congratulating her. But neither of them were in the mood to do anything, as they were still trying to wrap their heads around the fact that, their friend was alive, but was avoiding them. Then again, his tail was missing, and they could have simply just mistaken the man for their thought to be long dead friend.

"Looks like things are shaping up to be a… interesting year." Ozpin said. "Now, with all teams united, the Team Leader must choose, which guild their team will work and do their studies with, in the Allied Kingdom of Fiore."

Ruby looked up at Ozpin, and then to Yang, both of them having the same idea as to where they were going to do their studies, and in which guild.

~A/N~

Hey hope you all like this. I altered the main designs and outfits for all four members of Team RWBY, so that it'd fit more in with the Fairy Tail style.

This will be following along the Fairy Tail story line, more then the RWBY, but will still maintain elements of the RWBY story line.

An' yes, I did make my character a hybrid Saiyan and Kryptonian. Sue me.

I'm not sure at how often I'm gonna be able to work on and update it, but I do hope you enjoy.
