Everything was fine.
A few weeks following the battle, the Folk Rock Kingdom assisted in the recovery progresses the Troll Tribes and Subgenre Tribes embarked on. When it was clear that their homes would indefinitely remain damaged, they offered a place to stay for the time being. Amethyst van der Troll—the Chanty Troll formerly known as Captain Blue—even offered more than a few stowaways a place on her repurposed vessel, which held more than a hundred displaced citizens thanks to its advanced technical construction. It was the least she could do considering the past events.
She and an equally remorseful Sonata Dusk—the Siren Troll formerly known as Vivace—were placed under arrest for their crimes against the Troll Kingdom, but they harbored no animosity towards their prosecutors and agreed to their sentencing. They were told that given their willingness to atone for their actions, they would accompany Viva on her journey back to her community to spread the word about the battle that had occurred, serving as her appointed bodyguards. With a bit of luck, their sentences could be condensed if they stuck to their good behavior.
The same could not be said for Bash, Adagio Dazzle, Aria Blaze, and the remaining Party Crashers, Chanty Trolls, and Siren Trolls who were detained along with them; when they were continuing to plague the prison they were incarcerated in with relentless promises and endless vows to break out and seek revenge, they were left cowering in fear and suffering from potty failure after a single visit from Queen Poppy. Afterwards, she and the rest of the former Tribe Leaders helped with the reparations as well, helping the wounded soldiers recuperate and resurrecting the deceased citizens so they could reunite with their loved ones. They then met with the rest of the Tribe Leaders and Ambassadors to discuss plans for another battle, should the occasion arise.
When things slowly returned to normal (or, rather, the "new normal"), the Tribe Leaders decided that a celebration of the united Trolls was in order. In addition to a very large cuisine consisting of many of the diverse food of the Tribes, a park/vacation spot had been constructed by the Tribe Leaders. Inspired by their predecessors' work in the Space Between, the park was divided into four sections, one for each season. Some sprang to spring and settled for summer, others fell for fall and went for winter.
Poppy's many friends chose the summer section, watching the many Trolls interact with each other in a highly affable manner. Some exchanged their cuisine with the other and compared their taste buds, while the rest played games that adhered to their culture. The former Tribe Leaders were nearby, sharing a converation with the current Tribe Leaders and Ambassadors. Because the winter section was next to the summer section, it allowed for a really nice breeze to counteract the hot weather that came along with it.
"Queen Peony, have you seen Poppy?" Branch asked the former Pop Queen worriedly.
"Oh, there is no need to worry, Branch," Peony reassured him, "Poppy is simply trying on a new bikini of hers. Her new friends are simply helping her choose one."
"Okay..." Branch raised an eyebrow at the explanation just as Satin & Chenille, along with the rest of their friends, overheard.
"What's a bikini?" DJ asked.
"It's..." Miles began before he began to blush, "It's, erm..."
"It's a new type of swimsuit," Ruby nervously chuckled, much to the understanding of the friend group.
"A new type of swimsuit?" Chenille turned to Satin, Nova Swift, and Dulce in excitement, "We need to see! We need that inspiration for our new line!"
"What's wrong?" Esteban approached with Sofia and Princess Peach.
"Branch and the rest of Poppy's friends were just wondering what a bikini was," Peony replied.
"Oh..." Esteban blushed and shook his head, Sofia subsequently giggling in amusement while Princess Peach smiled and shook her head as well.
"I feel like we're missing something," Barb and Val's eyes darted back and forth.
"Believe me," Sun Lien chuckled as Diogo nodded, "You are..."
"You very much are..." Viva could barely finish the sentence before breaking out into a giggle fit as Amethyst muttered indignantly to herself.
Branch, DJ, Creek, and the rest of her friends could only exchange confused looks with each other.
"Sorry, everyone! I'm here!"
Their conversation was interrupted by the timely arrival of Queen Poppy herself, prompting everyone to turn around and face her. Those among her friend group gasped in shock and awe, especially Branch, who found out at that moment exactly what a bikini was.
Poppy's yellow eyes returned with a vengeance, as did her usual pink hair tied up in a ponytail. On her head rested a sand-colored headband with three green leaves; one was a Magnolia leaf in the middle, while two of them were Betels that took both sides. Held in her hand was a strawberry milkshake with whipped cream and a cherry on top while a pair of black sunglasses was nestled behind the headband.
However, what truly caught their attention was the attire she wore: the assumed aforementioned bikini. It was a rather revealing two-piece swimsuit with a snow white shade. The top section accentuated her breasts and presented her growing muscles, her exposed midriff detailing the slight six-pack she had built over her journey in the Space Between. The bottom section revealed the upper parts of her legs and—if one stood or were positioned behind her—emphasized her actual bottom, making them appear very firm. All in all, the bikini hugged her body snugly and extenuated her slim figure in ways that made the little mind of Branch (and those of the other adults...both male and female) race with desire and desperation never before seen.
"I had to pick out which one I wanted to wear today," Poppy replied as she approached, "And I wore the black version already...so I had Mirabel and Raya choose for me!"
As Branch's gears in his head began to turn again, Mirabel and Raya themselves approached the party. The former was wearing a powder yellow bikini and the latter wore a cobalt blue bikini, both turning heads and widening eyes as they headed upstairs to the cliffside where Poppy's group resided.
"And I chose wisely!" Mirabel grinned widely.
"I chose wisely," Raya interjected as she rolled her eyes, "You only came around once I told you that the pink bikini would only blend in her skin and make her look naked."
Branch swore that a nose bleed was building up and threatening to leak out.
"Branch, dear?"
The Pop Troll then felt his jaw (which had been agape for some time now) being shut by Queen Peony, who shot him a self-aware smile of sympathy.
"Please make sure that your mouth is closed during a time like this; horseflies are still a thing."
Branch subconsciously nodded in response as many of the girls giggled in amusement. Among the most audible were DJ, Satin & Chenille, Smidge, Meadow, Gia, Melody, Sun Lien, and Dulce, with Biggie and Guy Diamond not far behind. He could only shoot the group a death glare which he immediately abandoned as Poppy walked past him with Mirabel and Raya in tow.
Peering over the edge of the cliff where thousands of other Trolls continued to party, the three exchanged a short conversation with each other.
"Are you sure about this, Popsqueak?" Mirabel grimaced in fear.
"Oh, yeah!" Poppy smiled and waved her concerns away, "I got this!"
"Do you now?" Raya frowned.
"Nope!" Poppy continued to smile, "But it can't hurt to try, right?"
Mirabel's eyes darted back and forth between her friend and the body of water below.
"Erm...yes. It does hurt to try. I mean...it should."
As they were talking, Marinette, Camilo, and Lunella appeared from the stairs and approached the group. Marinette was dressed an all-white two-piece ensemble, consisting of a flounced bikini top and a skirted bikini bottom; in addition, in place of the usual pigtails, she wore her black hair swept down to her shoulders. Camilo was dressed in a white long-sleeved collared shirt with the sleeves folded and a pair of brown swim trunks. Lunella did not have a swimsuit on, but she still wore the proper summer attire, such as a yellow sundress and black sunglasses.
"Is she still trying to do it?" Camilo frowned.
"I mean..." Lunella adjusted her glasses, "Statistically, she shouldn't survive the jump. But she has the power of the Six Strings imbued within her, so..."
"It don't matter!" Mirabel cried out, "Powers or not, I'm not losing my best friend over a dare!"
In the midst of their conversation, Twilight, Sunset, Flash, Bruno, Elsa, Mei, Alberto, and Lady Bone Demon arrived and watched the scene in equal parts bemusement and fascination.
"Didn't you make the dare in the first place?" Sunset raised her eyebrows in suspicion. It was only confirmed when Mirabel stumbled over her words.
"I mean, yes...but it doesn't mean I don't regret the bet!"
"What was the bet?" Flash frowned.
"Basically," Alberto smirked, "If Poppy's bikini gave Branch a sense of tumescence, then she would have to jump off the cliff in quote-on-quote "embarrassment"."
Amethyst choked on her milkshake and cackled, her laughing fit followed by Sunset, Viva, Camilo, Miles, and Mei. As the rest of the group was left mortified, Branch himself heavily blushed as a result, and his jaw dropped as he turned to face Poppy again. The Pop Queen's gaze met his own before she shook her head and strolled over to him, his heart uncontrollably banging against his chest. Standing on her tiptoes, she leaned forward and planted a soft kiss on his lips, inevitably sending him into overdrive.
"Thank you for that," Poppy smiled.
"You're welcome...?" Branch's eye twitched, "For what, exactly?"
"For the good luck charm," Poppy batted her eyes seductively before she turned and strutted away, her behind slightly bouncing for Branch to see. Glancing over her shoulder one more time, she flirtatiously winked at her boyfriend before taking that leap of faith.
Completely consumed by the love for his girlfriend, Branch finally suffered a nosebleed before he fainted from emotion overload...as the group looked on in surprise.
