C21 Maple, Bringer of Absolute Obliteration

Gazef's return to the capital of the kingdom was, although somewhat late, relatively within what was expected, his arrival was celebrated by the citizens, and although most of his men's armors were destroyed, and seemed to have been gnawed by some kind of acid they were celebrated placidly... However, there was a detail that one should not overlook for anything in the world, rather, a detail that was physically impossible not to notice.

That was the extra person who accompanied Gazef, the girl in dark armor riding a turtle the size of a carriage was the topic on everyone's lips, her facial features were somewhat unusual for the citizens of the kingdom, however, the most knowledgeable noticed a certain similarity with the citizens of southern countries.

However, there was something about the girl that attracted all eyes to her, a charm that made everyone question the identity of that girl.

"...With that, your majesty, my report concludes."

After Gazef's words; nobles, knights, servants, princes, and the king, all of them debated whether or not to believe the words that almost seemed to be recited directly from a fairy tale, it was just after some uncertain seconds that finally the king broke the silence.

"Gazef, from what I understand you have fulfilled your mission in the west, stopping those who destroyed our villages, discovering that those responsible for such attacks were the sun script of the Slane Theocracy is worrying, however, its unexpected arrival, the summoning of an archangel as well as the arrival of his subjugator... such are words that I would dismiss as lies if they had been spoken by anyone else."

Gazef kept his head down and submissive. King Rasposa II fixed his eyes on the warrior captain and thought, saving a sigh for himself, about his trustworthy knight, and looked at his head as well as his closed eyes.

"Not only that, but you also claim that she who had smitten our foes has come to demand an audience with me."

Gazef opened his eyes and raised his head, his determined gaze seemed hesitant for just a fraction of a second before he nodded decisively.

"She is waiting outside my king."

Rasposa II put a serious look on his face and evaluated the reaction of the nobles present to the warrior captain's words before saying out loud.

"If such is the case, I must grant the savior of Carne village an audience. Make her pass!"

The king's words echoed through the throne room and were greeted by growing murmurs from the nobles present.

As the doors slowly opened, an announcer shouted.

"Savior of Villa Carne, self-proclaimed knight of absolute damnation and nemesis of death itself! Maple of Maple Tree!"

The murmurs intensified at such an ominous presentation.

Everyone was asking each other among the royalist and nobility factions, looking for someone who recognized these titles.

Deep, metallic steps slowly silenced the murmurs while everyone looked high at the door, only being able to imagine the height and strength of a person to generate such a resonance with just their steps, the deep sound continued to increase in volume.

And everyone continued to look at the door, confused when the footsteps suddenly ended and the sound of someone kneeling brought everyone out of their stupor.

"Eh... Ahem. It is a pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty."

First Prince Barnak put his hand on his chest, completely blushing at the person in such a place.

Maple's smile suddenly illuminated the place and everyone was blinded by the light of the so-called "knight of absolute damnation".

However, there was someone who was not carried away by Maple's kind attitude, someone who knew a monster disguised as a princess when he saw one. Second Prince Sabanak froze in place at what he identified as a predatory smile that showed every tooth, ready and sharp to separate flesh from bone. It almost felt like an illusion for him as that hunger he felt was so bestial in nature.

Sabanak looked around stealthily seeing if anyone seemed to be as uneasy as he was, Princess Renner noticed his gaze returned a smile that made his blood run cold, realizing that he was making his emotions too obvious, the prince decided to try to act normal and look for more information about this creature later.

Finally, King Rasposa fixed his gaze on the figure kneeling in front of him with a mixture of caution and disbelief.

"Maple... I have heard of your feats from Gazef Stronoff, however, what brings you to my throne?"

Maple's smile did not waver as she seemed to suppress the urge to stand up.

"You see your Majesty, I have spent some time in the village that I saved and I have fallen in love with it, Gazef told me that you would let me have it if I swore loyalty to you, my lord, and so, I come here today to request the ownership of Carne Village"

The king narrowed his eyes as he glanced sideways at the warrior captain, who seemed mortified by the… Tactlessness and directness of Maple.

The king looked Maple in the eyes, who did not seem at all intimidated by his harsh gaze.

The nobles seemed stunned, but those snapping out of their stupor were offended and irritated.

The king had to act quickly if he did not want the noble faction to take the initiative in this matter and if Maple's power was even a fraction of that tale Gazef had told, then she would be a great asset in the war against the Empire.

With such a thought in mind, King Ramposa II stood up and walked slowly towards Maple, passing Marquis Raven who gave the king a pleading look.

Thus, the king descended until he was standing in front of Maple and there declared.

"Maple, your titles are prominent, and your acclamations are supported by Warrior Captain Gazef Stronoff. Under such premise, and as a unique exception, I accept your promise of obeisance and declare you Baroness of Carne Village. And so I name you Maple, Baroness of Meat!"

As the king's words sank in, Maple's face slowly turned red but she lowered her head and accepted the title.

Author's note.

Sorry for the short/late chapter! I had ended this chapter but forgot to publish it and just realized until I finished the next one so, in a short time you will see the next chapter.

In future chapters, we will see how the story of the knight of absolute damnation and now Baroness of Carne Village. Maple!

On the other hand, I didn't check the wiki for the exact names of the Royal family of Re-Estize so maybe I'll check it out later

On another note, I have a new story Yei !... Okay, the 3 chapters of that new story could perfectly well be 3 new chapters of Maple but in my defense, that story is a story to de-stress and not as much as I should ... ( just as this story had begun 💀) either way, as it's not fanfic I'll stop talking of it now.
