Miracle Angel

Kelly had been shot and was even now at death's door; Bosley, Kris and Julie, the newest Angel were talking about Kelly's time with the agency with Julie learning more about her. Kelly had been shot before, but accidentally by an autistic child that Kelly had been spending time with.
The discussion was suddenly interrupted by a voice whose cheerfulness seemed out of place. "Why the long faces? You look like you lost your best friend." Looking up, they saw a cheerful woman with dark hair cut to shoulder length, very expressive eyes and wearing a sweater. Kris and Bosley instantly responded, "Sabrina!"
Julie had heard of Sabrina Duncan: upon joining the agency she seemed to naturally take charge and had a knack for cracking some of the toughest cases. According to the others this was common even during the academy. She wondered why she was here: the last she knew Sabrina had married and had a baby.
Quickly they filled her in on the details: the case going south and Kelly being shot. "Listen; I'm here and no angel dies on my watch. Kelly will not be the first."
Sabrina noticed Julie. "So you're the new kid, huh?" Unlike the other Angels, Julie had been a professional model not a graduate of the Police Academy. "Listen, you wouldn't be here if you didn't have what it takes. Charlie has some high standards." Looking abashed, she replied, "Thanks, Sabrina." Sabrina began to frown and gave Julie a stern look. "Let's get something straight right now; my friends call me Bri." she finished with a smile.
"I'm going to see Kelly. Stay here, okay?" Despite knowing hospital policy, they agreed; something in Sabrina's demeanor gave them pause, as if warning them against arguing. As they watched her walk away, they saw her pass by staff who ignored her as if she owned the place.
After she left, Julie let out a breath she had not realized she was holding. "Wow! So that was Sabrina!" It was less a question than a statement. "The one and only." was Kris's reply
Sabrina slowly walked towards Kelly's room , pushed open the door, and entered with the utmost quiet. Seeing one of her oldest friends from the days at the academy in such a state put her in a foul mood. Kris had informed her that they had caught the gunman who had shot Kelly; it did little to lessen her anger.
Sabrina sat on the edge of Kelly's bed and observed the still form. "Kelly", she began, "I know you can hear my voice. Now I told the others that you will not die and I will not let you ruin our friendship by making me into a liar. Now, you are going to do as I say, and wake up."
In some distant, hazy place, Kelly Garrett was vaguely aware of her surroundings except it was all darkness. Then she became aware of a tiny light in the distance and knew she needed to follow it if she were to live. Slowly at first, then faster, she started to catch the light; then she became aware of voices around her; then with a sharp suddenness she drew a huge breath and opened her eyes. At her side was Bosley who immediately hit the call button for a nurse; after she arrived he went to the waiting room to let the others know.
The next day, as they were chatting with newly-awakened Kelly, they received a call from Charlie who sounded agitated. Although glad to hear Kelly was alive and alright, he sounded very upset at their mention of Sabrina's visit.
"That isn't possible Angels." was his response. "But why Charlie?" questioned Kelly. He then proceeded to explain that he ha tried to call them, but Kelly's injury had made it more important to speak to the hospital staff. "Why did you want to call?" Kris questioned. "I'm afraid I must pass on some bad news. Sabrina was doing some solo flying in preparation for her pilot's license when her plane crashed. She died on impact; so you see, there is no way she could possible have appeared at the hospital."
The four friends just stared at one another in silence...
