Arthur's notes: I am not putting this on the crossover for one reason the only thing I'm taking from Spider-Man is the powers I'm not adding any characters from any existing from any existing comic, movie or series.
One Friend Makes all the Difference
Chapter 1: Creating a Bond
A green-haired boy lay on the ground, coughing, while a blond boy stood over him. His hand was outstretched, ready to attack. A black-haired girl with a spiky ponytail approached the boy, but she was met with an attack. The boy who had been on the ground used his body to shield her from harm. He was around six years old. The blond boy sneered and said, "Useless Deku."
The blond boy walked off, leaving the girl to check on him. A man not too far away heard a voice calling for help and he knew that voice. He rushed out to find that voice, when he got there, the sight hurt him. He asked, "Momo, what happened here?"
Momo said through her sobs, "Dad... I... I can't... hear... his heartbeat."
The man ran over to check on the boy, and what his daughter had told him was true; the man started performing CPR on him. Thankfully, he didn't have to perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on him.
The man picked up the boy and carried him to his car, intending to take him to the hospital. After searching the national database, they identified the boy's name as Midorya Izuku. His mother was called into the hospital.
Momo never left his side, and his father could understand why she would tell him the details of what happened. Needless to say, they had one pissed off mother on their hands. Izuku woke up two hours after arriving at the hospital.
Momo's father introduced himself as Yaoyorozu Hatake. Izuku's mother, Inko, stood up and went to his side, asking, "Izuku sweetie, are you alright?"
Izuku asked, "Where's Kacchan?"
Inko's face showed unadulterated fury as she shouted, "I NEVER WANT TO HEAR YOU CALL HIM THAT EVER AGAIN!"
Izuku flinched when he heard her and accidentally tore off the guardrail on the bed Hatake said, "I thought he was quirkless?"
Inko said, "He is. Izuku Can you do something for me?"
Izuku nodded Inko continued, "Place it on the wall please…"
Izuku did as told Inko resumed, "A little higher, focus and try to get your hand to stick then pull yourself up."
To Izuku's surprise, he pulled himself from the floor. Inko said, "It's not a quirk at least not a natural one."
This info had everyone a bit curious as Inko continued, "This is something the world has long forgotten except my ancestors. During the dawn of quirks there were people that had abilities similar to quirks but you were to check they would show up as quirkless. One such person was my ancestor. He had no powers until he was fifteen."
Hatake said, "Maybe his quirk showed up late; it's not unheard of. It's would be very rare back then, but currently the odds are one in a million that a late bloomer will appear among kids whose bodies can't handle the quirk. I know of one such case: a friend and someone I personally know who made money in a Yagi Toshinori."
Inko said, "No, my ancestor didn't know exactly what caused his powers to appear. You see, some people are born naturally with a quirk or a mutant gene, which was called 'mutant' back then. Others acquire their powers through accidents that force their bodies to adapt to the changes. My ancestor was bitten by a spider that was being experimented on when the venom was injected into his body. His body adapted to the venom, which was targeting his DNA. The mutation occurred at such a fast rate that it would have killed anyone else, but somehow his body managed to stabilize it and gave him spider-like abilities."
Hatake mused, "It would seem your son inherited this 'spider gene'. Do you have any information on what he can do?"
Inko said, "Sadly no, as the 'spider gene' showed up less and less. The knowledge of said quirk unfortunately isn't very detailed. Luckily my ancestor was smart enough to have extensive records of everything he learned over the years, just in case his abilities were inherited. I can access those records."
Hatake turned to Izuku and asked, "What do you intend to do with your new quirk?"
Izuku answered confidently, "I want to be a hero like All Might, saving people with a smile on my face!"
Hatake replied, "Well, young man, I'm going to give you the best opportunity for that to happen."
Inko said, "Not that I'm not grateful, but why are you doing this?"
Hatake said, "Your son protected the person I hold most dear to me, and my honor demands that I repay your kindness."
Izuku was so happy that he was literally doing flips.
(Same time at another location)
A woman with blonde hair and red eyes was enraged, shouting at her son, "Bakugō Katsuki! Of all the irresponsible things you could have done, this one takes the cake! You injured Izuku to the point where he needed to be taken to the hospital!"
Katsuki said quietly, "That quirkless Deku ratted me out. I'm going to kill him."
His mother heard every word: "You mean again!"
Katsuki's head shot up as he hoped against hope that she was lying, but he was met with the words, "Yes, your attack really did a number on him; his heart stopped beating for five minutes Before they were able to revive him. So yes, technically, you did kill him. By the way, Izuku didn't say anything. The witness said a boy with blonde hair, red eyes, and a Quirk that was something like an explosion. It wasn't hard for Inko to put it together."
Katsuki was stunned, sure he always said that he would kill the guy but he never actually meant it. It was always just 'tough love' to show him how defenseless he was really was, to discourage from a life that was already dangerous for those who had quirks. To think he came so close to losing the one person that actually cared for him as a person and not his quirks. His mother continued speaking, "Izuku got lucky in more than one sense. Apparently the doctor that diagnosed Izuku as quirkless was wrong. A wealthy businessman willing to help him for what he did for his daughter."
Katsuki was thrown another curveball. His 'best friend' now had a quirk and the backing of someone wealthy. His mother continued, "You are lucky, brat. I talked Inko down from doing anything drastic. Tomorrow you will be seeing a shrink and before you complain, she wanted your head."
Katsuki winced. His aunt Inko was not a person to get angry easily, but when you did, you knew you deserved it. So Katsuki resigned himself to his fate.
