It had been a month since the lock down of the only bridge which connected the Main land with the Zones. Things got much much worse for those who lived in the Zones despite of rising crime and closed government buildings including police, schools and even libraries, the Zones met one more dangerous problem a food supply shortage.
All the Zones were connected only to the Main land on the East and on the West there was nothing but ocean. All food supplies and other necessities were transported to the Zones from the state land through the Gotham city and now this line was cut off. The bridge was closed for a month and no communication with the state land or the rest of the city. The tv stations and radio were having troubles to broadcast to the Zones. Most of the citizens lost their jobs on the plants because those had to cut production, transfer of their products was impossible due to closed bridge. By the end of the month the only two grocery stores in the Zone three started to have queues for groceries and couldn't supply customers with enough food. The winter promised to be cold and people were preparing for the worse.
Since the library had to closed down Logan and his team were working from his house. They were forced to use only one car and only for work purposes because the gas prices were extremely high in the Zone and supply of it was going down fast. The internet connection was very bad but they were making videos anyway for the future when the connection could be restored. Everyday Logan and his sister as a camera operator and Jimmy as their assistant were going to explore the Zone in order to find news and interesting facts about life after "the explosion". Life in the Zones divided on two stages "before and after the explosion" it was everywhere and people get used to say things like "before the explosion I was working at the plant but they fired four hundred people so I had to go and now I do my best to provide for my family any possible way I can".
On top of everything the serial killer wasn't caught yet and who could even catch him. The Zone three didn't have a police force anymore. There were left fifteen people in the police station and they united with fire department in one building in order to maintain some sense of security for people. Logan visited Justice's house multiple times but always found it empty. She disappeared again after being at work for couple of days. Her house was abandoned for almost two weeks and the library where she used to work was closed. Ilham was sure Justice got killed by the killer because she was living alone and was an easy target but Logan didn't believe in this guesses. He was waiting for her return. He insisted on Ilham moving to live with him because she was also living alone and she agreed thinking about missing Justice. There was enough room for two of them and a crew who was visiting them everyday for work and some simple food they all cooked together.
Night time became a dangerous time in the Zones especially because there was no White Shadow around. The police advised people to stay home after six in the evening because of the dangerous gangs activities and absence of street lights which were damaged by criminal elements. The Zones after dark were the last place you wanted to be but Logan was having trouble sleeping and woke up at four or five in the morning every day. He made a habit to leave the house immediately after waking up because he didn't want to disturb up his sister who were sleeping in the living room. He was wandering in the Zone and when he came back he usually told Elle what did he hear or saw. Most of the time there were gun shots and screaming or sometimes he saw some fights or drive by shootings. It was dangerous but he seemed to be fine with it and sometimes he even made a reportage about his early morning adventures.
How long the Zones could maintain their survival was unclear for everyone. The food supply wouldn't last until Christmas and if the starvation comes nobody would help people of the Zones.
