Chapter Ten: Movement on the Frontline

February 14th, 2018

South Pines Motel Room

Colorado Springs, Colorado

Afternoon/Evening

The first base for the Rogues is in Colorado. It would have been too much to send fifty people to the same place to kill some Rogues, so the Winchesters, Jack, Cas, Sean and Elay went to Colorado, figuring that they would be enough to take out that branch of the Rogues. Lucifer was also on their team, whilst Gabriel and Michael were taking some of the others to Oklahoma to take out the branch of Rogues that had set up there. Dean was the first one into the Motel room that they had booked. Jack and Cas were sharing a room, whilst Sam, Mary and Dean were in another room. For the evening, Dean had planned a nice valentine's day dinner date for himself and Cas, at a local restaurant here in Colorado Springs. Sam had been teasing him about it since they got here but had promised that it would be alright for Dean to go out tonight, their plan begins tomorrow. Dean had brought something nice to wear, what Claire had considered to be 'date clothes.' Castiel had been excited when Dean had told him about the date, excited to the point where he had kind of begun to freak himself out, knowing what Valentine's Day means to the humans, and the traditions that come along with it. Elay and his partner Sean were also going out for Valentine's Dinner, the Archangel had been talking with Dean about his plans, but the Hunter had been reluctant to give too much away, because he doesn't want to run into Elay and Sean. To be honest, he kind of hates the way that Elay acts. Like he's somehow superior, because he has it all figured out. It just drives Dean the wrong way. He and Cas have been through so much to get to where they are now, and he knows that neither Elay nor Sean have been through what they have. Neither of them has been to Hell. Neither of them has been saved by an Angel, and neither of them have struggled with the true feelings deep inside of the. Dean still struggles to think that Elay has real feelings for Sean, and isn't just pretending, and using him. But he doesn't say any of that because he doesn't want to be smote on the spot. As the afternoon faded into the evening, Mary and Jack were looking over their board that Elay had clicked into existence, going over their plan for tomorrow. It's going to be a long day, and it's not going to be an easy day. At six, Cas and Dean left on their date, both dressed very nicely, Castiel out of his usual Angel garb, in a nice pair of slacks and a black button-down shirt. Claire had taken him shopping for clothes. It had taken a moment for Dean to resurface to reality, then Sam had teased them all the way to the Impala, where Dean threatened to shoot his brother, helping Castiel into the car, before getting in the driver's side.

The restaurant was not something that Dean would usually frequent, and he had been so lucky to get reservations for a place like this… on Valentine's Day. The Matre'd led them to their table, handing them each a menu, and telling them that their waitress would be with them shortly. Dean nodded, looking at Cas, who was looking around, taking in everything, and blushing. Dean tapped his ankle under the table, smirking when Cas jumped in his seat, looking up at Dean shyly, before his face also broke into a smirk. The conversation was kept light. They didn't talk about the case, but Dean did tell Castiel about his dream. Of them one day living together in a nice house, where Castiel can have a garden, filled with beautiful flowers, and he can have a yard that needs constant mowing… and they'll be married, and have a daughter. With Cas' beautiful blue eyes. The Angel was staring at him, wide eyed, before whispering to Dean that he 'wants that too.' Castiel thanked the waitress when she brought their drinks, and took their orders, then turned back to Dean, asking him if he's thought about marriage. The Hunter stopped mid drinking, to look at Cas, and smiled. He nodded, and they talked about that for a while. Both admitted that they wanted to be married, that Castiel would love nothing more than to be Mr. Castiel Winchester, and that Dean would love that as well. But they both also admitted that right now… with everything going on, it's probably not the best time. Dean promised that he will propose one day, and Cas promised that he would say yes. Their smiles were big enough to fill their faces, and the blushes were clearly evident on both, but their staring contest was interrupted by the waitress returning with their food. Castiel had ordered something, just so he wouldn't look weird, sitting there, watching Dean eat. He picked at it, only tasting molecules, smirking as Dean moaned around the fork in his mouth. They ate in silence, both watching the people around them enjoying their own Valentine's Day celebrations, as Dean lamented on how nice it is to not be worrying about work right now, but that he's not blind to the situation either. He knows the danger that they're in, and he knows that right now, they're living in a fantasy, and can't truly be this way forever. But he'll take for right now, before the battle, to just be with Cas like this. Dean glanced over at his boyfriend, who was moving his shoulders around, as if they were hurting. He had not told Cas about the bruise he'd seen on his back, but the Angel caught him looking, and put his head down.

'Cas, is everything okay?' he asked, concern filling his beautiful face

'You saw it… the bruise. It's very painful Dean,' Castiel said, wincing as if to highlight his point

'How did you get that bruise Cas? If you were human, I'd be rushing you to the ER asking what the hell was going on,' Dean said, as Cas grabbed his hand across the table.

'When Michael healed me the other day… I think he healed more than the pain from Angel Radio… I think he healed my wings,' Castiel said, and Dean understood now why the bruise on his back.

Colorado Springs Showdown

Colorado Springs, Colorado

Midday/Evening

Since Castiel had told Dean about the possibility of his wings returning, Dean had been both excited and worried. Excited, because all the Angels deserve to have their wings back, none more so than Cas, but worried because what will happen when Cas gets his wings back? Will he return to Heaven? Will he be reprogrammed and taken away from them like Naomi tried to do? He shouldn't be worried about this right now. They're in Colorado Springs, where Michael heard that the Rogues were planning to nuke an entire town, and they knew that the showdown was going to attract attention. Gabriel and Lucifer (surprisingly) had put some kind of dome over the small town and had tried to keep people in their homes. It wasn't easy, but some of them were firm believers in God, and the Devil, and all Lucifer had to do was flash his red devil eyes, and most of them conformed. Dean couldn't tell if he was expending any of his powers whilst doing that, but to be honest, he didn't care. They're very much outnumbered. There are ten Rogues, and seven of them. Castiel isn't at full power, in fact Dean thinks that he's getting worse, because the pain in his back hasn't subsided, and he's told Dean that he feels lightheaded, but he's standing beside the Hunter, Angel blade at the ready. Elay had been sensing the Rogues all morning. He explained that this wasn't 'a good idea… more of a distraction'. But Lucifer wanted to take the Colorado branch of the Rogue's out, and Dean knew that even if they had to go one by one… they should be taking them out. Each of these Rogues gets more powerful the longer they are around. The warehouse that fronts at the Rogues base was completely abandoned, but still close to town. The minute the Angels entered the building, all of them said the same thing… that they could 'feel the power emanating from inside'. Something crashed to the ground, making them all spin around on the spot, and then the attack began. Three ran at Dean, and he managed to knock two of them back, whilst stabbing the third one… Sam fought two at a time, incapacitating them, stabbing both with their own blades, as he was thrown back against the wall. Lucifer snapped his fingers and incinerated two more of them, whilst Gabriel just smirked at the four that were stalking towards him, before he disappeared and re-appeared behind them, clicking his fingers to send them to dust. The two that Dean knocked back ran at the Hunter, but he was thrown back to where Sam had been, groaning at the gash that appeared on his forehead. Elay and Castiel called out that there are more… that this was an ambush… that they need to be ready… but Michael had already gone ahead. It's unlike an Archangel to lose a fight against a lesser powered Angel, especially a Rogue, so when they saw Michael being thrown through the air, landing at the feet of the Winchester brothers, it was as shocking to the Angels, as it was to the brothers. At that moment, at least twenty more Rogues appeared, all of them holding weapons, led by an Angel that Castiel had mentioned before, Elfrid. He was smirking at Castiel, as he walked closer to the Seraph, who didn't move from his spot. The other Rogues would remain where they were until they were given the signal to attack, but Gabriel was reading their minds, and the mind of Elfrid, and Lucifer… well he knew what his brother was doing. Michael had managed to dust himself off, stand back up, and moved back over to where Castiel was standing, facing Elfrid, who turned his smug smirk towards the Archangel.

Michael told Elfrid that they need to stop. Castiel just watched, knowing that this wasn't going to end well for them, because there isn't anything that can stop someone who wants power. Just look at Michael, Lucifer, and Elay. Nothing will stop them, and nothing will stop Lucifer, who just wants the Rogues vanquished from the earth, so that he can go back to walking amongst them again. Castiel senses the change in the air, before the others, and calls to them to be ready, Gabriel, Lucifer, Michael, and Elay charge towards the Rogues, whilst Elfrid fights Castiel, and the Winchester brothers. It's a barrage of Rogues. As they think they've killed them all, more just appear. Elfrid manages to disarm Sam, throwing him back against the wall again, smirking at Dean, who raises his own blade towards Elfrid, to meet the same fate as his brother. The boys groan as they sit back against wall, Dean lamenting that they might need 'more help than they thought', then realise that the fight is still happening, and Castiel is losing badly, especially when Dean hears him cry out in pain, as Elfrid cuts him with the Angel blade. The Winchesters shoot to their feet, Lucifer shouts something before the Archangel disintegrates the four Rogues he was fighting, running towards Elfrid. Now don't get him wrong, he's not as strong as Lucifer. No where near as strong as Lucifer, but he fights. However, he doesn't stand much of a chance, when the Devil reaches him, hand around his neck, holding him in the air, asking him to spill all the secrets that the Rogues have, or they will make him. Elfrid manages a smirk, even though the Devil is choking the life out of him, and the Rogue leader clicks his own fingers. Whilst distracted, another Rogue manages to sneak up on Castiel, and stabs him in the side. The Seraph shouts out, Gabriel subdues the Rogue and kills him, just as Dean reaches the Angel, calling for Michael to heal him. Lucifer presses his fingers harder against the throat of Elfrid, fully prepared to literally rip his throat out, until he his told to stop by Michael, who nods to Lucifer. Reluctantly, the Devil drops the Rogues leader to the ground, laughing as he stumbles away, then turns to his brother and begins arguing with him over letting the man go. Elay then suggests that they can use Elfrid, follow him to the Rogue's main hideout, maybe find out their master plan, and get to them before they can do it. But Lucifer just wanted the Angel to pay for what he did to Castiel, who is resting against Dean Winchester, Michael having healed him. Dean was also furious that Michael had let Elfrid go, regardless of whether they could track him, and find the rest of the Rogues. Sam had to step in and tell them the truth: that this was a failure, that they need more help, more power on their side, and Elay agreed. He knew that before going in. However, on the plus side of all of this, the managed to eliminate the Colorado Springs hideout. Elay, Michael, and Lucifer told the Winchesters to take Castiel and head back home, they will clean out this place, and torch it. Sam didn't like the idea of burning all the innocent dead people but knew that it was the right thing to do. There is no way they can explain this to the police without being put in prison. No way…

'So, are we counting this as a win?' Sam asked, as he, Dean, and Castiel go into the Impala.

'I don't know Sammy. On one hand, we took out this branch of the Rogues, on the other hand… Lucifer let their leader go so I don't know…' Dean said, as he pulled out of the industrial area, and back on to the highway that would take them back to Kansas

'Elfrid won't go to the main base. He'll hideout for a while, get his bearings back, heal himself up, and then return when he thinks that we're not watching him anymore. If Michael is tracking him, then it will be helpful, at least to try and find a general area,' Castiel said from the backseat, catching eyes with his boyfriend in the rearview

'I don't know if I trust Michael. I don't know if I fully trust Lucifer… but if what you're saying ends up panning out… then we can count this as a win,' Dean replied, looking at Sam who just nodded.

Federal Pines Motel

Tacoma, Washington

Midday/Evening

Since the Colorado Springs fight, there had been mostly silence in the Rogues world. Michael, Lucifer, Elay, and Gabriel had retreated to Lebanon, to find out what was happening, and try and track Elfrid, who up until this point, they haven't been able to find since Lucifer let him go. Dean had been stuck on that for two days, and whilst he's trying to get over it, he's having a hard time, mostly because of what the Angel almost did to Cas. Mary and Jack had called the boys, asking them to come to Washington, to help them with a case. When they got here, Sam was the first one to ask their mother why she hadn't come to Colorado to help them with the Rogues, because they 'really needed her help, and Jack's help in the fight'. Mary didn't answer straight away, instead explaining to them the case that she and Jack are working, and how she couldn't leave Washington to fight the Rogues. Dean was mad that Mary was here at all, and Jack was just trying to placate everyone. There had been a consensus, that Sam would go with Mary and Jack to find out the information they needed, and Dean and Cas would stay in the room, and do some research into Tacoma, and Washington, and the legends that apparently come from here. There were a few… then Dean got bored. He was bored of working on this stupid case, and he knew that Cas had solved it, the minute the Impala roared into town. It's a simple case of a shifter. A shifter who has taken the form of someone in the town with power. Given that they had basically cracked the case, it was now time for Dean to get some of his own power back. That is why he's currently straddling Castiel on the bed, the Angel beneath him, making all kinds of delicious sounds as Dean grinds against him, their lips connected as they make out. Hands ran down his torso, caressing his nipples, making Dean gasp slightly, just enough so that Cas' tongue could take control of the situation. Oh no… I'm in charge tonight… Castiel heard Dean say in his mind, smirking when he knew the Angel had heard him, before yanking Cas' shirt off, and connecting his mouth to one of the Angel's nipples. Cas' fingers pulled at Dean's hair, the Hunter smirked, teasing the nipples with his tongue, moving back and forth between the two, before grabbing Cas over the front of his pants, and stroking. Dean had never really been in charge like this before, preferring to be the sub, but he could get used to this. Dean removed his own shirts, tossing them to the side of the bed, still straddling his boyfriend, who looked wrecked. Dean reached down, seductively removing his own jeans, torturously, and slowly, whilst Castiel just watched, pushing a hand into his boxers, and getting a grip on himself. Dean almost lost it, watching Cas jerk himself off was a fantasy for Dean… he quickly got naked, then he got Cas naked, pinning his hands above his head, as he reconnected their lips together.

Dean wasted no time getting inside Castiel, who moaned at the intrusion, then began panting Dean's name as a kind of mantra. The Hunter was smirking, burying himself as deep inside of his Angel as he could go. With hair matted to his forehead, Castiel pressed his against Dean's as the Hunter began his movements, teasing as he slowly pulled out… then screaming Dean's name as the Hunter thrust back into him. It was hot, Dean just pounding into his body, as Castiel made all kind of delicious sounds. The Hunter never missed the mark. Hitting the sweet spot every time, unable to hide the smirk as Cas' moans got louder, and the begging started. Cas begs whenever he's getting close to orgasm, and Dean loves every minute of it. Cas managed to get a hand between their bodies, Dean following its path as it made its way towards Cas' erect stick, getting a grip on it, and stroking in time with Dean's thrusting. Oh yes Castiel… you fucking jerk yourself off for me… this time it was the Angel who smirked. The pounding got harder, and faster, the bed was definitely hitting the wall, the neighbours could absolutely hear what was going on, but Dean didn't care. He fucked Castiel until the Angel shouted out in pleasure, coming between them, one last jerk of his hand, as he collapsed his body onto the mattress beneath them. Dean, with one last thrust, came inside the Angel, lips connected, hips snapping forwards as the white liquid filled Castiel up. Finally, Dean collapsed on top of Castiel, their kissing becoming less feverish, and milder, slowing down finally to just soft pecks, hands on cheeks, coming down from the high that had been created. Dean was still inside of Castiel, that wasn't going to change for as long as he could help it… which wouldn't be long apparently, because at that moment, Sam burst through the door of the hotel room, spotting his brother and Cas in bed, clothes strewn around the room, before he smacked a hand over his eyes, and quickly turned to exit the room. Dean groaned, moving himself [albeit reluctantly] out of Cas. The two of them shared chaste kisses whilst they re-dressed. Finally, Sam returned to the room, smirking at the two men, Dean just slapping his face, taking the bag of food from his brother. Whilst they ate, Castiel told Sam what he had deduced the minute they pulled into town: that they're dealing with a shapeshifter. Most likely, it's someone in the town who has authority, or some kind of power. The taller brother nodded, grabbing a file from the stack on the chair, and slapping it down in the middle of the table. Castiel grabbed the top one, looking at the name on the front, before opening it, and reading through it in silence. Dean took a couple more bites of his burger, before copying the actions of the Angel, then Sam followed suit shortly after. They had it narrowed down to three possible suspects when Mary and Jack finally returned. Dean ignored his mother, and asked Jack what they had discovered, the information allowing them to eliminate another suspect, leaving them with two: Chief of Police Carl Roger, and Lawyer Cheryl Bates.

'Okay, in the morning we'll split up and talk to each of them, determine which is our shapeshifter. Thanks Jack,' Dean said, patting the young mans shoulder, earning a large smile from the Nephilim.

'Should we celebrate this wonderful discovery by doing something fun tonight?' Jack asked, looking between the Winchesters and Castiel, who was frowning at one of the files

'I don't know Jack… Cas, is something wrong? You're looking awfully angry at that file there bud,' Sam asked, smirking when Castiel looked up at him, tilting his head, confused at the statement

'I don't think the police officer, or the lawyer are the shapeshifter… I think it's this man… shapeshifting into the police officer and lawyer, to throw us off the trail. There was something strange about him when we met him… it was like he could… sense that I'm not human,' Castiel said, showing a picture of a man, McGee Connell, a Senator for the state of Washington, Dean took the file and flipped through it, sharing a look with Mary and Sam, before nodding and telling Cas they'll check him out as well

Tacoma Case

Tacoma, Washington

Morning/Afternoon

The next morning, Castiel and Dean went to stalk the Senator, whilst Mary, Jack and Sam went to check on the Lawyer and Police Chief. Dean wasn't as sure that the shapeshifter was who Cas thought it to be, but he could feel his binding tingling. Something that usually only happens when Cas is in danger, or when he's feeling other emotions. Right now, they're pretending to be FBI Agents, trying to get into see the Senator. It doesn't take long for Dean to realise that Cas may have been right. One of the Senator's aides lets them into his office, and the moment they're in the room, the smell hits them. Dean bolts into the small bathroom in order to stop himself from gagging, whilst Castiel uses his weird Angel senses to try and locate their suspect. Obviously, the Senator has shifted recently, hence the skin that is hidden in the room. It's so recent, that he obviously hasn't had time to hide it from anyone. Dean composes himself, and returns to his seat in the office, where Castiel is also sitting, just as Senator Connell enters his office, locking the door behind him. Dean and Castiel stand up, flashing their FBI badges to the Senator, who demands to speak with their superior. At the moment, that is Garth. Dean gives the man the number for Garth and sits back down. Castiel shifts his shoulders, his back is still sore from things happening to his wings, but it's more painful when he can't let them out. After a few minutes, the Senator hangs up the phone, and tells them that they are who they say they are… to which Castiel replies that he is 'not who he says he is…' looking over at the skin in the corner of the office. The Senator takes his seat, begging the Agents to reconsider. That he's not a bad person, and that it's a shock to them he knows, but he's trying to do good. Castiel frowns, asking him how that his possible, and Connell explains that he's a Shapeshifter. He was born a shapeshifter, and whilst most of his kind use their powers to kill, he is trying to create a better community, by impersonating people of power in his city, and getting them to agree to his betterment plans. Dean then asks the penultimate question: if he's so good, why are people dying? Connell sits back in his chair, rubs a hand down his face, and tells the Agents that he doesn't know. He's not responsible for the deaths. Confused now, more than ever, Dean asks what the hell is going on in this city and allows for the Senator to explain. The Chief of Police is corrupt. He's been trying to bring Connell down for years, so when Connell learned that he could Shapeshift, he made himself into the Chief, and backed his own plans, revealing the corruption in the Police Force, and forcing the City of Tacoma into a swing vote. Dean asks about Cheryl Bates, the defence Attorney, and Connell sighs. She has been fighting against him in the redevelopment of the structures housing for the poorer people in the city, so they can have homes. He shifted into her, to get her to drop the case, so that he could win. Cas and Dean shared a look, before realising what was going on.

Dean explained that he and Castiel aren't really FBI Agents, they're Hunters who chase the Supernatural. Taken aback for a moment, Connell then nodded, asking them what they think is happening. Dean explains that whilst his motives have been to try and spread good, he thinks there might be another Shifter in town, who is just shifting and killing people. Connell nods, before asking Castiel if what he's doing is right. Ever inept with social cues, Castiel asks if he likes taking away people's free will, to which the Senator asks him to explain. Castiel then goes on about Free Will, and how everyone has the right to make their own choices, regardless of whether those choices are good or bad. That is why God created Humans to have Free Will. That is why it is so hard fought for in every war. That what he is doing, is taking people right to Free Will away. Castiel tells the Senator that if he wants to be a good person he should fight his battles honourably, and without using his Supernatural abilities. That if he can't win the fight without them, then he isn't much of a leader. Connell thinks for a moment, Dean worries that Cas has crossed the line again, but then the Senator stands, moving around to Castiel, shaking his hand. The Angel hesitates for a moment, then takes the hand offered to him, shaking it and asking for his help to locate the other shifter. Connell sits back down, shaking his head, and Dean gives him a card, tells him to contact them if he hears anything, that he won't be punished for helping them out, because they have Free Will, and he has demonstrated, despite his missteps, that he is trying to be a good person as well. The Senator takes the card, thanking them and showing them out. Castiel follows Dean out of the building, taking a moment to open his Angel senses, before following Dean out of the building. They meet up with Jack, Mary, and Sam just outside the Senator's offices, where Mary explains that neither the Chief nor the Lawyer are anything Supernatural. Castiel and Jack hear a sound, then both groan, bending over in pain, whilst the Winchesters watch. The Nephilim recovers before his chosen father, Castiel finding his way to the seat near to the building where he sits down, head in his hands. Sam knows immediately that this is bigger than just Shapeshifters, asking Jack and Cas if the Rogues are here, to which the two Angels share a look, before Jack nods. Cas is rubbing his temples, trying to make out the chatter in amongst the jumble of Enochian. Castiel is babbling in Enochian out loud, trying to make out what is going on. Dean kneels in front of his boyfriend, hand on his cheek, and it's kind of calming for the Seraph, who opens his bright blue eyes, to show Dean that they're glowing. They're glowing and Cas is starting to glow, and they're in the middle of a public street. Dean and Sam help Cas to stand up, shuffling them into a deserted Alleyway, behind a building, where Castiel continues to babble in Enochian, as the glow gets brighter. Dean is shouting at him, Sam is trying to hold his brother back, Jack is beside Castiel, hands on him in case this is something else.

'Ecklat fowrar nestest Solomon,' Castiel babbled out, Jack stepped back from his father, eyes wide at the words, whilst Sam and Dean shouted at him to tell them what is happening

'Sam, Dean, Mary… you need to run. RUN NOW!' Jack shouted, pushing them all back with his powers, whilst Dean tried to fight against it, calling out to Cas, but being held back by his brother

'CAS! CAS! Sam… let me go Sam,' Dean struggled against the grip of his brother, finally getting free, only to be thrown to the ground when the bright light got too much, and the power forced them all to the ground.

'Dean… we have to get back to Lebanon… now,' Sam said, when they were able to stand up, and saw that the buildings near to the alleyway, had been blown up, Cas and Jack nowhere to be found, they bolted into the car, and Dean sped off.

The Bunker

Lebanon, Kansas

Evening

Gabriel sensed the shift in cosmic energy before the others, bracing themselves against the warding as the heard the screeching of Enochian, descending upon them. Elay was shouting in Enochian, asking Michael to be ready. The Archangel simply nodded to his twin, before the burst of light appeared in the centre of all of them, knocking them off their feet, sending them flying as Michael tried to brace himself against the explosion of power that had just appeared. He was holding his hand out, speaking in Enochian, but his nose was starting to bleed, and he couldn't hold it much longer. Elay stood, sensing his twin in pain, and standing to help. The two Archangels could make out a shape, and Gabriel shouted that he could sense Castiel and Jack. Lucifer channelled his own powers to help Michael and Elay, stepping into the bright light, managing to get his arms around Castiel, pushing Jack over to Elay and Michael, as he tried to stop his little brother from exploding. Michael, Gabriel, and Elay all focussed their energies on Castiel, Lucifer was trying to heal at the same time that he was trying to hold on. Jack was shouting at them, asking what was going on. But none of them answered at this time. Elay's partner appeared in the library, standing with Jack, telling him to let them save Castiel first, then he can ask questions. Gabriel called upon the others who were willing to help them, he called upon Heaven, asking them to spare Castiel, asking them to save the brother who is trying to save them. Michael collapsed to his knees, unable to hold the power anymore, but Elay fought his way through, Jack nodding to him to let him know that Michael was going to be okay. If they do one thing, they must save Castiel. They need Castiel. He is the only one who can truly stop the Rogues. The light began to dim, the power began to fade, Lucifer called to his brother to come back to them, to stay with them, and finally Castiel's vessel appeared to them. The bright white light faded out, and the Archangels sighed, Lucifer caught Castiel as he collapsed, trying to heal him as much as possible, before he picked him up, and took him down to the ward area, laying him on a bed. Michael limped in, followed quickly by Gabriel, Jack, Elay, and Sean, who gathered around the bed, asking Jack was had happened. The Nephilim was quick to explain. They had been in Tacoma, on a case investigating a Shapeshifter. Then something had happened. They had heard screaming on Angel Radio, but something had triggered in Castiel, and he began mumbling things in Enochian. His eyes started glowing, then his vessel started glowing, like he was imploding or something. Lucifer asked if anything Castiel said made any sense, but Jack just shook his head, stated that most of it was gibberish, then he quickly remembered a name. He told the others that Castiel had said a name, one that he has never heard before. Gabriel asked him what the name was, and Jack just said Solomon. Lucifer stepped back from the Seraph, all the Archangels gasped in unison, Jack raised an eyebrow at them, before looking back down at his chosen father when the Angel groaned. There was whispered Enochian happening, but Jack didn't care, wanting Castiel to just open his eyes.

The Archangels were standing around the War Table when the door opened, and the Winchesters bolted into the Bunker, calling out for Jack and Cas. Gabriel grabbed Dean, asking him what was going on, to which the Hunter threatened to kill them all if they didn't explain what was going on, and whether Cas and Jack are alive. To his relief, Jack entered the room at that point, the Winchesters hugging him, before Lucifer cleared his throat, asking them to calm down whilst they explain what had happened. Jack had told them every single thing that Castiel had muttered up until the point of almost imploding. Dean didn't wait for them to finish explaining, he bolted to the infirmary the minute Gabriel told him that Cas was there. The Angel was curled up on the bed, eyes closed. He opened them, blue meeting hazel, when he heard Dean enter the room. Silently thanking anyone but God that Cas was okay, Dean ran over to him, hugging him and telling him that he's an idiot, and to stop doing things like that. Castiel managed a slight chuckle, before apologising. He promised that it wasn't deliberate. The rest of the group decided to go to where Dean was, rather than waiting for the Hunter to return to them, and ended up walking in on Dean kissing Castiel, earning a glare from Lucifer who threatened to tie Dean to a wall. Castiel explained that he and Jack had been bombarded with Angel Radio, they were calling for Castiel to help them, they needed him in Heaven, and were trying to summon him back upstairs to help them out. Dean's hands turned into fists, but he calmed down when Cas took his hand. He had fought against going, that is why his eyes glowed. Lucifer asked him why the rest of him began glowing, and why he almost imploded. Castiel looked at the Archangel, tilting his head to the side, confused. Jack explained what had happened. Castiel had been babbling in Enochian, at first, just random words, then he kept repeating the same phrase over and over: Ecklat fowrar nestest Solomon. Castiel's eyes widened, like Jack's had done in the Alley. Dean asked what the hell that meant, and why all the Angels freaked out about that particular phrase, when the only word he understood was the name Solomon. Castiel flinched at Dean's use of the name, Lucifer took a step back, behind Elay, Gabriel's looked turned to pure hatred, and Michael was pacing back and forth. Something was happening. Something big if it almost made Castiel implode it wasn't anything good. Castiel took a deep breath, the memories of what happened to him in the Alley coming back to him. He felt as if he was being forcefully removed from his vessel, as if he was being pulled back to The Empty… as if he had been smite. Dean looked up at his brother, asking which Angel had that power, and Cas shook his head. Jack sat down on the only chair in the room, thinking back to the moments just before the Alley, and what they had been talking about, the connection between the Shapeshifters and this even had to be connected somehow. Mary handed Castiel a glass of water, and placed a wet towel on his forehead, noting that he was burning up. The Angel thanked her, the cool of the wet towel actually helped against the heat he was feeling. Gabriel and Michael were sharing a conversation only they could hear before the Winchesters demanded to be brought into the loop. The Angels all shared a look, before Gabriel muttered something about them being 'right about needing to know'.

'Solomon is… an Archangel,' Michael said, looking up at the Winchesters

'You have got to be kidding me. Another one? What does this one want?' Sam asked, sharing an exasperated look with Dean

'We believe that Solomon… is the leader of the Rogues. He admires Lucifer, wanted to be just like him. But after Lucifer was banished… he disappeared. Word had it that he went into exile, as a statement against dad, but he was never seen again. Now we think that he vanished from Heaven to try and start an army,' Michael said, and Sam noticed that Lucifer looked… guilty.

'So, let's go get the barstard. Get him and kill him and send him back to Hell. If that's what he wants, we'll trade him for Lucifer,' Dean said, the Devil smirked

'It's not that easy Dean. You saw what he almost did to Castiel. He's more powerful than we imagined. We're going to need more time, to track him, to study him,' Gabriel said, and Dean looked at Castiel, who just looked down at his hands in his lap, the brothers realising that Solomon had tried to smite Castiel from wherever he is…

The Bunker

Lebanon, Kansas

Afternoon/Evening

Castiel was still recovering from the events of Tacoma. Mary and Jack had learned the fate of their case, that the Shapeshifter had actually not been a real shifter, but an Angel. The Angel had marked Castiel, so that Solomon could find him. Lucifer had removed that mark, taking it to a safe place so that they could study it, try, and reverse it to find Solomon. The Bunker had been more heavily warded against everything. Charlie had shown up yesterday, offering her services, and the Winchesters had explained to her the danger that was coming. It's not like Charlie to stand down from a fight, so of course, she put her hand up and told them to shut up, and 'stop being bitches', before stalking off to find Castiel. Mostly, she had come to help the Angel. Dean and Sam were researching Solomon, but the internet doesn't have much information about the Archangel Solomon. All they know is what the have been told. That he wanted to emulate Lucifer. To be just like him. To cause chaos on earth. That he was the Archangel of Assent. Always doing what he was told. Always the leader. Always wanting the power. Because of that, he had become angry. He had resented their father, and his ways. He had looked at what Lucifer had been through and related with it. He chose dissent. He chose to follow in the path that Lucifer had set out, causing chaos through Heaven… until he just randomly disappeared. Michael said that he thought God had just… gotten rid of him. Gabriel had never questioned his fathers' motives, both Archangels just thought that God had removed him from Heaven, maybe banished him to hell to live like Lucifer. But they now knew that he hadn't been banished. He had dissented. He had deserted. He had abandoned. Now on earth, doing what he had been programmed to do in Heaven, but on a much larger scale. Creating an Army to take over and reign supreme. Then the Angels fell. He knew the chaos that would come from so many Angels being lost on earth, each of them blaming someone for what had happened to them. Michael explained that he thinks they have a common goal. Sam asked if that common goal had anything to do with the Called, and Michael nodded. The list that The Called protected were the names of the past, present, and future Human vessels of each Angel. Having that list would surely make it easier for Solomon to build his army. It would make it easier for him to control the Angels and their vessels, prevent them from returning to Heaven, prevent them from protecting the humans and the earth from the inevitable implosion was the sure to happen if this isn't contained. Sam nodded, and Dean exclaimed that they already knew that… then Michael told them that they have another goal, bigger than just finding The Called, and the List… they want to punish the Angel that did this to them, to bring him to justice. To remove him from earth. Sam and Dean didn't have to ask what that common goal was. But Michael answered it anyway.

'They want Castiel… they've always wanted Castiel… none more so than Solomon. A war is coming… and we need to be ready,' Michael said, leaving the Winchesters in the library, Dean looking at his binding, and Sam staring blankly at a book.
