Preface: I had this idea going on in my head for awhile. At first, I was going to have some OC in this scenario, but after reading Lily Hanson's Kaylee series where Leanne Omino was involved and watching Leanne in the Power Rangers Ninja Storm episode she appeared in "Double Edged Blake", I felt compelled to have Leanne in my own Power Rangers adventures. Plus, I also watched the Bioman episodes (Super Sentai series) where Mika/the first Yellow Four dies and Jun takes her place and becomes the new Yellow Four.
Thus, this story was born. I hope you can enjoy it!

Lightspeed Rescue: A Different Shade of Yellow
Chapter One
Kelsey looked on as she and the rangers were fighting Xernias and his army of evil. It was a grueling battle and the rangers were getting beat.
"You won't escape me again, Power Rangers!" Xernias declared as he and his army prepared to destroy the rangers were they stood. The Terminator used his telekinesis powers to knock the six rangers down to the ground.
"We can't give up, guys!" Ryan told the team as they got back up on their feet.
"He's right!" Carter added, "Let's do this!"
"Lightspeed Rescue!"
"Titanium Power!"
The six rangers powered up, but Kelsey was still weakened by the blows of the previous battle. The rangers knew this didn't look good for their teammate.
"Kelsey," Chad looked at the Yellow Ranger, "we told you to stay behind!"
"It's okay," Kelsey assured him, "guys, we all knew the risks becoming rangers! Right?"
"You're right," Carter slowly nodded as he appeared to be hesitant with his answer.
"Kelsey," Dana cried in awe.
"I don't have much time," Kelsey told the team, "I'll help you the best I can."
Kelsey then noticed Xernias about to pull the trigger to the life force draining blaster and she pushed the rest of the team out of the way, "Watch out!"
The yellow ranger took the blasts from the blaster, and she became even closer to death than before.
"Kelsey!" the rangers each cried out for their friend.
"This is it for me, guys," Kelsey looked at her friends for one final time, "It's okay. I believe in you guys. Keep fighting for our city! Defend Mariner Bay and this world from Xernias and his evil army!"
The Terminator unleashed his Bomb of Roses attack to separate Kelsey from the other rangers.
"You are finished, Yellow Ranger!" the Terminator declared before he unleashed a killing blow to Kelsey Winslow.
"Kelsey!" Carter cried out.
"Oh no!" Ryan exclaimed in shock.
"No!" Chad cried out.
"Kelsey, no!" Joel exclaimed.
"Kelsey!" Dana cried out, distraught over losing her best friend.
Everything faded to white as the explosion engulfed Kelsey during that blow.

"Kelsey!" Dana yelled as she jumped up in bed, sweat dripping from her forehead.
She looked up and then rose up from her bed as she glanced over to the drawer next to her bed and saw a picture of her and Kelsey. The pink ranger sighed sadly before walking out of the room.

Carter woke up suddenly, no longer feeling his wife's presence beside him. He looked around and found the bedroom to be empty. He saw the picture of Dana and Kelsey smiling and the red ranger could tell Dana was bothered by Kelsey's death. The funeral was today and it had been a few days since Kelsey Winslow had died.
Sighing, Carter went to look for Dana. She wasn't in the living room. She wasn't in the kitchen. He asked a nearby personnel where Dana was and he directed her to the Lounge Room.
That was where Carter found his wife. Dana was staring out into space with a cup of Sprite in front of her.
"Dana?" Carter walked over to the Pink Ranger, "What are you doing here? It's four in the morning."
Dana sighed sadly as she took a sip of her drink, "I...I just don't know."
"What do you mean?"
"I was thinking about Kelsey," Dana answered, "and everything that has happened. We've never dealt with anything like this before."
"We wouldn't be the first rangers to lose a member though," Carter pointed out, "just last year, the original team lost Trini, just a year before the Bandora Protocol."
"When Chad was taken."
"That was a ordeal to endure."
"I don't get why...it's not like we haven't cheated death before," Dana faced her husband, "it's just too bad you weren't able to prevent Kelsey from dying this time like that vision you had which saved us from dying."
"I was in a simulator that gave me that vision," Carter said before he sighed and then continued, "We lost her, Dana. How can we ever understand it? It's not like we're witches or time travelers which could help bring Kelsey back or prevent her from dying, but this is the reality. She's gone."
Dana sighed before she hugged her husband, "I just thank God I didn't lose you too."
The two shared a kiss before they stared at one another.
"We should get some sleep, love," Carter suggested.
"You're right," Dana nodded in agreement, "Kelsey would never forgive us if we looked terrible at her funeral."
The two rangers shared a chuckle before heading back to their quarters.

Leanne sighed as she finished cleaning. She walked over to the living room. It had been a few years since her encounter with Blake and Tori and every now and then, she would be lucky enough to contact them.
Just a month ago, Leanne started a relationship with Cam Watanbe, who seemed to be a nice guy and proved to be a great guy as they had their first date.
She was startled upon seeing her candle suddenly flicker and go out, "That's odd. The windows are closed."
Then the red head heard a beep on her phone, "What's going on?"
Leanne turned on her phone and was startled to see a notification about Obituaries on there. She looked through the Obituaries and saw Kelsey Winslow on there. She sighed reading what happened to the fallen Yellow Ranger and suddenly had a feeling that she needed to be there.
"Did you get the dishes done, Leah?" Cam asked from behind.
Leanne turned around to see the Green Ranger behind her, "Yes. I did. Um, I need to be going now."
"Going?" Cam asked, "Where? Leanne? Leanne?!"
Leanne didn't hear him as she was walking out the door and leaving the house.
