After freeing the super top-tier, first-class adventurer Olivia Servant from the Death Chains, I decided to invite her over for dinner at my place.
"Mother, father, I'm home!" I called as I opened the front door, Olivia striding in barefoot behind me.
My parents were eagerly awaiting us in the dining room. Father quickly closed the distance and dropped down on one knee, shaking Master's hand enthusiastically.
"Welcome to our humble abode, Lady Olivia. Our son has told us so much about you." Behind him, mother chuckled in amusement. Father does have a habit of being overdramatic.
"It's a pleasure to meet you both, Mr. and Mrs. Stardia." Master Olivia greeted them warmly.
"I can see where Noir gets his good looks from."
Even though just today I had defeated the Death Chains, it still seemed like the first time I'd seen her brilliant, shimmering eyes. The newest addition to the Stardia family, an enormous Black Lion large enough to ride on, slowly approached Olivia.
"It's very nice to meet you, Olivia Servant. My name is Tigerson." Master startled for a moment, eyes widening in surprise. It took her less than a second to compose herself.
"Ah, yes. Noir told me so much about you, Tigerson. It's a pleasure to finally meet you! I didn't know there was someone else trapped in the Hidden Dungeon too!"
"Indeed I was," Tigerson replied.
He told my Master about how he and his Elven friend, Vashelle, had arrived at the Hidden Dungeon. Vashelle told him to wait on the Fifth Floor while he went ahead to deal with any hidden traps, but he never returned.
Three hundred and fifty years later, I met Tigerson and he asked me to help him look for Vashelle. I found him, but Vashelle had been turned into a Zombie. After I turned him back to normal, Vashelle was overjoyed to be reunited with Tigerson.
Unfortunately, he had to return to his home shortly after. But Monsters were strictly forbidden. Because of this law, Tigerson could not join him.
Seeing Tigerson so sad about missing his friend prompted me to make one decision. I befriended Tigerson and invited him home, and we've been together ever since.
Sometime later, my family opened our very own store, Stardian Rarities. Tigerson began working there, greeting customers, guarding the store, and entertaining the children.
"Apparently, Black Lions are an unusual sight in these lands," Tigerson continued, as Master took in every word he said. Talking one on one even more so. Then I asked them both a question.
"Wait, a second, does that mean Tigerson and Vashelle were the first ones to enter the Hidden Dungeon?" I said aloud.
"No, Noir," clarified Tigerson.
"Olivia Servant arrived at the Hidden Dungeon 200 years ago. Vashelle and I came 150 years before she did."
Long before. It occurred to me that there could be many more people who are still trapped inside the Hidden Dungeon, but that's a theory for another day. Overall, the introductions went smoothly. That is until my little sister showed up.
"So, let me get this straight Olivia," Alice eyed Master suspiciously, her posture defiant.
"We've been told that you've been trapped for over 200 years, but you don't look old and wrinkly. Wha… who are you, exactly?"
Olivia took no offense to Alice's rude questions and let out a loud, guffawing laugh.
"I'm just a normal human being. It was the Death Chains that kept me alive all this time. I might've stayed trapped there for all eternity." She looked at me. "Until Noir here showed up."
Then, Olivia clasped her hands together whilst gushing. "Your big brother was the best thing that's ever happened to me!"
"That's right!" Alice hardened her glare. "Noir is an amazing person." She jabbed a thumb at herself for emphasis. "And if I ever find a hair out of place, you'll answer me!"
"No offense, Noir," Olivia leaned towards me, using a hand as if to deflect her hushed voice away from Alice. "But I think your sister's got some issues. She's giving me the stink eye." I couldn't help but let a sheepish smile escape my lips.
Oh, Master.
"It's all right," I replied. "With the Death Chains out of the way, business at the family shop is going strong, and my second semester is around the corner, I think I got time to work something out."
The sharp sound of a pair of hands clapping together ended our little conversation. We directed our attention over to Mother.
"I'm sure we'll have plenty of time to catch up over dinner." Alice and I have whipped up a delightful spread just for the occasion.
"Oh, right!" Alice instantly forgot about her beef with Master and pivoted around before sprinting off into the kitchen.
"I'll go set the table!"
Tonight's dinner was fit for a royal banquet. Seafood fried rice, pheasant meat bowl, persimmon soup, french fries, tea, water, warm milk, and my contribution of golden slime jelly. The slime itself is being used identically to hummus dip.
Olivia whispered into my ear. "Psst, Noir, have you told them that this jelly we're having is actually made of Golden Slime?"
Golden Slimes were rather common Monsters I'd encountered early on in my adventures within the Hidden Dungeon. They're fairly weak low-level Monsters, and surprisingly delectable!
"Nope," I hissed back, feeling very worried within my chest. "I'd rather spare them the truth for now. Golden slime jelly is now their number one favorite treat. They even spread it on their sandwiches. I'm pretty sure they'd flip out if they found out that they've actually been eating a Monster all this time."
She nodded, approvingly. "The fewer people who know about the Hidden Dungeon, the better. If word spreads, it's only a matter of time before we've got trouble on our hands."
My blood ran cold because of what, Master said. She was right. Imaginations of vicious thieves running riot through the Hidden Dungeon, looting and pillaging whatever they could find, flashed through my mind.
She was right. Imaginations of vicious thieves running riot through the Hidden Dungeon, looting and pillaging whatever they could find, flashed through my mind.
I gave it a few seconds of thought, then replied,
"I think we need to take the initiative and secure the Hidden Dungeon as soon as we can. You know, setting up farms and ore mines on some of the floors. We can use those as rest stops to resupply as we near the final level. Once we clear out any and all dangers within the Hidden Dungeon, we can turn it into a tourist attraction and charge admission for whoever wants to go in."
Olivia curled her finger around her chin, humming as she contemplated my proposal.
"I like your idea, Noir. You are a bit of a coward, but you're a smart coward." Her tone then turned from slightly teasing to serious. "Although I'm not too sure about that last part."
"How come?" I cocked my head to one side, raising an eyebrow. "It's the lord in charge of this land that worries me," Olivia explained. "I'll bet that he'd want to claim the Hidden Dungeon for himself, as would so many other unscrupulous nobles. We need to protect the Hidden Dungeon from anyone like them."
"Whoa," I breathed. "I guess I didn't think that far."
My family, the Stardias, are Baronets. While it is true that we're technically nobility, we're also at the very bottom of the pecking order. The other nobles further up the ladder don't really like us and think we're no better than commoners.
Before meeting Master Olivia, I lost my librarian job to another noble before I could even start my first day. There were a lot of sufficiently powerful people that could demand that we hand over the Hidden Dungeon, and we'd be powerless to stop them.
We... no... I cannot let that happen!
"Don't sweat it, Noir." Master laughed, waving her hand as if to dispel any tension and worry in the air. "That's why I'm here. What's a Master for?"
Even though I knew Olivia worded it as a joke (like how she usually does for most of what she says), I found it sweet to know that she'd always have my back. "Thank you, Master." I smiled gratefully.
"But seriously, though." Olivia clapped me on the back between the scapula, making me almost choke on my food. "Keep those lips of yours zipped about the Hidden Dungeon. Or else everything you've worked so hard to get… will be gone."
"Understood, Master, you have my word." I sputtered. "I will guard the secret of the Hidden Dungeon with my life."
"Awww, I love it when you're so obedient," Olivia teased, patting me on the head as if I were a four-year-old. "And very mature, too, my favorite apprentice. You must've been an angel growing up."
Things quickly took an awkward turn when mother decided to join in the conversation.
"Oh, you should've seen our kids growing up. Noir was such a silly goofball during his younger years. Alice even more so. I tell you, those two were a pair of adorable little rascals."
"Always getting into all kinds of mischief. Where one goes, the other is never far away. If you want Olivia, I can show you the Stardia family photo album book. After we finish dinner."
"No, Mother, I'm begging you!" I flopped onto my chest, lying on an empty part of the table. "Please don't!" I clasped both hands together, interlocking my fingers and waving them back and forth, pleading for mercy. "I won't survive the embarrassment!"
Alice cried out in protest, her utensils clattering metallically on the table. "I agree with big brother! Can't we just switch topics, please? I don't wanna lose my appetite!"
I turned to Father for aid. "Father, please say something. You're our only hope!"
"Father? Father, are you even listening!?" Noir shouted, for his father's undivided attention.
Glance…Glance…Glance…
It seems that my pathetic father is too busy sneaking a peep at Master's breasts. I honestly hope he doesn't act like a pervy old man. When I become an adult. At least mother and Alice, have father on a short leash whenever a pretty woman with a nice bosom or sexy figure shows up.
"Dear, would you like poison or ghost peppers in your soup? I can gladly get it out of the spice cabinet anytime, just so you know. Maybe I'll add a drop or more for tomorrow's dinner." Mother said with an icy tone in her voice.
"EH? No, thank you, my lovely wife. I like my soup just the way it is." Father said with a nervous expression on his face.
Mother is always smiling, showing a gentle impression, which is maintained even when she is angry. It is enough to give the Demon Lord a run for his money.
As father quivered like a scaredy-cat and called out to him with a disappointed face. Olivia whispers to me. "I see who wears the pants in this relationship."
Olivia whispered to Noir as she laughed within her thoughts. Since it would be rude to laugh out loud when first introduced to the Stardia family.
"Seriously father, you can't last ten minutes without acting all pervy in front of us. It's even worse when you're doing it during dinner time. Keep this up, we might have to plan for your funeral sooner or later. And Noir will be the new head of the family."
"I'm sorry Alice… I'll just keep my eyes on my food… while your sweet and forgiving mother shows the family photo album to our new guest. I'm sure she is dying to see them."
Mr. Stardia said while hiding an evil smirk on his face. Now you suffer as I suffer, my beloved daughter and son.
"Uh-oh." Noir and Alice said simultaneously while shaking like a leaf. While Olivia eagerly awaits with starlit eyes, as Ms. Stardia brings the family photo album off the bookshelf in the living room. Father you monster.
So this is your way to get revenge huh? It's your own fault for peeping in the first place. me and Alice won't survive the night thanks to you.
"Oh yes, the family photo album. I almost forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me, honey. As a show of appreciation for your behavior tonight."
"I'll show everyone the photo of us at the beach when I caught you peeping at that young woman's bikini top falling off and I turned your face into a bloody mess on the sandy floor." Ms. Stardia said with a gentle smile on her face.
Mother isn't easily fooled by Father's underhand tricks. She knows exactly why he brought up the family photo album in the conversation.
"Well… let's not be too hasty now my dear… I'm sure there's plenty of time to show that." Father said with a worried look on his face.
"Really? I think you need a little reminder since Lady Olivia is gonna be staying here tonight." Mother said with a gentle smile and a menacing tone in her voice.
"Okay, sweetheart… whatever you say goes."
Father, you dug your own grave here tonight. It looks like none of us will survive the onslaught of embarrassment and regret tonight. As mother left the dining room and brought forth the family photo album book of the Stardia family.
"Now without further ado. Here is a picture of Noir and Alice when they were in grade school."
"Ara ara, so both of you went into the beach naked huh," Olivia said with a smirk on her face. "Aww, Noir cute little pee-pee. This record his growth in many ways."
"That was because that big wave crashed into us and made us lose our swimming trunks, bikini top, and bottoms," Alice responded with an excuse. While showing her blushing bright red cheeks on her face.
I remember that day too. Me and Alice spend the entire beach day naked with our private parts and everything exposed. Why did we do such stupid things as children?
"Please, stop showing Master these things mother!" Noir said with blushing scarlet-red cheeks on his face.
"No way, if your guest is gonna be staying here for a while. Then she got to know the Stardia family history."
"If I were you, Noir. I wouldn't disobey your mother. Unless you wanna be in the same boat as your father." Tigerson said, warning his friend not to anger the sleeping beast aka Nori's mother.
Tigerson might be right. But mother continues to show the pictures despite me and my sister's persistence. At least she is showing Father's embarrassing moments too.
"This one is an aftermath picture of my husband's beat-up face when he looks at a woman's bikini top falling off." Mother said with a gentle smile while staring into my father's soul.
"It looks like your husband found out that there is a price to pay when being pervy in front of your wife," Olivia said as she looked around and turned the page to see more pictures.
I wanna see more pictures of little cutie Noir and Alice. Not their beat-up old father, Olivia thought.
"Yup. He learned that the hard way alright." Mother said with a smile on her face as she continued staring at father.
This was supposed to be a nice family dinner with Master Olivia. Now it is crumbling apart thanks to that stupid family album mother brought.
"...Aww, more pictures of Nori-senpai's embarrassing past," Olivia said while grinning. I've never seen pictures before. I wonder what other types of technology this era offer. Olivia thought.
"Oh, I remember this one, toddler Noir and toddler Emma was playing pretend. As knights and princesses within the playground behind the Brightness Residence."
Emma was wearing a pink princess dress, on top of a playground tower. She looked so cute back then.
"Noir looks so adorable and heroic in his blue towel cape and cute white underwear with colorful baby dragon pictures on them. Who knew cowardly Noir wanted to be a superhero or a knight in shining armor." Olivia said with a smirk on her face as she imagined a younger Noir.
"Oh, here's one of adolescent Alice, covered with pink bubblegum in her hair."
"That must have taken forever to cut off. I hope you didn't go too far and remove all her hair."
"No, but unfortunately it was a crazy mess once I removed all the hair that was attached to the gum." (Alice's haircut was similar to the characters from the movie Mad Max. So you guys can get the idea.)
"How did she even get all that gum in her hair in the first place?"
"Oh well you see, Noir was teaching Alice how to blow her gum into a bubble. On her fifth try, she finally did and the bubble got too big and popped. Covering Alice's face and hair with gum."
What made that day even worse? Was because it was three days from picture day at school and I had no choice but to remove my hat in front of my friends, teachers, and everyone else.
My friends sometimes tease me about that bad haircut. Alice thought as she suffered in agony remembering that fateful day. Olivia began to pity the poor girl. So she revealed one of her embarrassing moments as a child.
"Hey don't feel bad Alice. One time I accidentally dyed my entire hair green once in elementary school and all the students started to call me Grasshopper Olivia and Forest Elf Olivia."
"Well… that made me feel a little better." Even Noir's Master has her embarrassing moments too. Alice thought. This might be the third-worst day of my life! This object is an unholy reminder of my embarrassing past!
Uhaaaaaa, I want to die right now! I think I remember my mother saying this to me and Alice when we were younger. She said and I quote.
One day when you bring a girl or boy that you consider a friend, to our home. I'll show them our family photo album. With pictures of you guys.
I thought that Emma would be the only one, unfortunately. But I guess mom has really good memories sometimes. No doubt she's gonna show Leila, Lola, Luna, and Maria the embarrassing photos too.
"Aww, baby Noir, and Alice."
"Master, I'll be embarrassed if you continue to stare at a picture of me when I was a baby and toddler..."
"I'm sorry Noir. But I can't help myself. I mean just look at you and Alice wearing diapers as a punishment for wetting the bed. This stuff is giving me cuteness overload. Oh, here you and toddler Alice, covered in mud. Like a couple of sweet little mud monsters."
"Then toddler you and Alice in the bathtub together. With your itsy-bitsy pee-pee and tushie, getting squeaky clean thanks to your mother." Olivia said while laughing on the inside.
With a smile on her face as she turned page after page showing Noir and Alice's embarrassing moments as babies and young children.
Like a picture of Noir hugging his stuffed toy dragon and Alice sleeping with her favorite blanket that she used when she was a baby and four years old.
"If you liked that Olivia. Then here's one picture of Noir and another picture of Alice nursing on my breasts when they were babies. They look so precious and innocent."
Oh, I missed those days when Noir and Alice were cute babies. Ms. Stardia thought as she reminisced.
"Wow, you two don't hold back when it comes to mommy's milk huh," Olivia said while grinning at the picture and seeing the embarrassed, Stardia siblings.
"You have no idea." Mother said as she looked at her son and daughter. "Baby Noir and Alice preferred the good stuff over baby milk formula."
"Although baby Noir and Alice always made a little fuss. They never liked baby milk formula. Unless they had no choice."
Then she sighs with relief as she looks at the pictures and says, "Thank goodness for pumps."
Alice was speechless and began to put her head on the table and hide her face with her arms. It was too much for her to handle. I can say the same too.
I'm officially done, Noir thought. As he hid his face under his hoodie and said. "Master, please inform my mother that her son has died from embarrassment."
Olivia jokingly hands over the glass of warm milk in front of Noir and replies. "Perhaps a drink would help calm your nerves, Noir," Olivia said with a big smirk on her face. "Come on, say ahh for your master, baby Noir."
"Nope, not cool and not funny at all Master!" Noir shouted, feeling quite annoyed, and said. "I'll be in hoodietown until the heat dies down." I hate it when Olivia says cheeky jokes like that. My heart and blushing face can't take it any longer. Will this night ever end!?
Finally, an hour passed and everyone has finished looking at every single picture. The two siblings die of embarrassment. While Olivia has Noir and Alice wrapped around her finger. With those embarrassing secrets of the past.
All the food has been eaten. So mother, father, and Alice gather the dishes on the table to the kitchen sink. While Olivia was tapping my shoulder to get my attention, telling me that family photo time was over. And to stop wallowing in self-pity, regret, and embarrassment.
"Come on Noir, please get out that hoodie. I'll stop teasing you about your embarrassing moments now. I'll even hug you to raise your LP while your family is sorting all the dishes."
Noir sighed and said. "Okay, Master."
Noir hugs Olivia in a warm and loving embrace. That gave him at least a hundred LP. Oh well; the apology is better than nothing I suppose.
Although I doubt, Master will tell anyone else… probably. Noir thought with a worried look on his face. Feeling quite anxious about the next day, the second semester in the Hero Academy, and the future.
I'll just tease the Stardia siblings for a few laughs. When the time is right, Olivia thought as she passed her empty plate, bowl, and cups to Ms. Stardia.
With dinner finally, out of the way, mother gathered everyone in the living room to show us our family tree book with the Stardia family crest on it.
"Okay, Olivia and everyone. I have one last thing to show you all." Mother said and showed an old book with the Stardia family crest on it.
"This is the Stardia family tree. It has pictures, portraits, and names of every ancestor in our lineage." Everyone sat on the living room couch and studied the book, multiple pairs of eyes scanning through pictures and various descriptive texts of our ancestors. "Wow, incredible!" Alice breathed.
"Hey, Noir, this one looks exactly like you," Alice pointed at a page. She grabbed the book and practically shoved it in my face.
He looked very much like me, his face shaped in pretty much the same way as mine. But his hair was black, topped by a slim forelock that stood out and straight up. A scarlet necklace hung conspicuously around his neck.
"That's a surprise, genes seem to run pretty strong in our family," I mused while scratching the back of my head. Also, I felt a tad embarrassed at being praised for my good looks.
"It says here that he was a D-Rank Adventurer, 16 years old. He saved a little girl from an Iron Goblin." I narrated. Yikes, that sounds like a really mean, nasty creature. I wouldn't want to run into an Iron Goblin in a dark alley.
Olivia yanked the book out of Alice's hands, her face lit up in surprise as her eyes flicked from left to right, totally focused. Tears started welling up in Master's eyes.
I know that face anywhere, she gasped. Ever since that night, I still think about him. Her sudden reaction did not go unnoticed by us.
"Master, are you okay?" I asked, slowly and carefully. "I don't mean to be rude, but do you know this guy?"
This was perhaps the first time I've ever seen Master so emotional. My ancestor, whoever he was, must've been really important to her somehow.
Then mother silently handed Olivia a tissue to wipe away her tears. "Let it all out," she told her softly. "Take your time." Olivia finally collected herself.
"Oh, thanks. You see, he was someone I met 200 years ago. Believe it or not, he wished to become my apprentice to fulfill a promise he made to his late childhood friend. He wanted to become the strongest Adventurer the world has ever seen. Every day without fail, from morning till night, he kept pestering me to accept him as my student. Although I never really did so, I did give him loads of advice."
"His reason was to become the world's strongest and best adventurer, he began to follow me around and ask me to become his master every day. Although I never accepted him as my pupil, I only gave him lots of advice on adventuring and monster weaknesses. Like how to kill an Iron Goblin."
At that point, Master's voice went from fondly reminiscing to sounding like she'd tasted the bitterness of ash in her mouth. "One day, I was told that thanks to my advice, he managed to save that girl from an Iron Goblin."
Master grimaced as an icicle of guilt, twisted in her gut. "He didn't make it." After recounting my ancestor's untimely fate, a sad yet satisfied look appeared on Olivia's face.
I swapped knowing looks with Mother, Father, Alice, and Tigerson. Our ancestor wanted to be Master's apprentice, but she lost him too soon.
I guess I deserved it, huh? Olivia thought aloud. Trapped for 200 years. She looked at me with eyes that seemed like they were grabbing onto me, as though I'd disappear completely if they didn't.
"Noir, the real reason why I became your Master and gave you my skills and wisdom. Because you looked so much like him. I did it all for you as much as I did it for me. I can't change my past. I wanted you to grow slowly so that, when the time to say goodbye finally comes, I can forever be your Master."
I inhaled sharply.
"Master. Ever since we first met, I've always looked forward to seeing you again. That alone brings me joy in ways I can't possibly put into words. You helped me become stronger."
"And you gave me the hope that I can finally be free from my past. You were far stronger and braver than I'd ever thought you'd be." Master clasped my hands between hers, gazing at me warmly and fondly.
"I'm very proud of you, Noir Stardia."
For those few moments, I stood rooted to the ground, speechless from shock. Honestly, I didn't know whether I was more stunned by the revelation or if I was touched to hear Olivia's praise. I didn't become her first apprentice out of sheer dumb luck.
It turned out that I was practically the spitting image of my ancestor. That same one who'd asked to be her apprentice and never once let go of his dreams. That same one who placed himself directly in harm's way for someone else.
He's a lot like me in many ways, for I would've done the same if I were in his shoes. I guess that I was destined to be the apprentice of the great Olivia Servant. After she fully reconciled with her past, Master had an important announcement to make.
"As gratitude for Noir, freeing me from the Death Chains, letting me stay here, and the Stardia family being related to the boy who wanted to become my apprentice. I will [Bestow] upon each of you one skill of your choosing." Olivia said, out aloud to everyone.
She turned her head. "Don't worry, I didn't forget about you, Tigerson," Olivia said proudly, then began to listen.
"Thank you much, Olivia." Father was literally bouncing up and down like a kid in a candy store. "If you can truly give any of us a skill. Then I would love to have the [Lucky Lecher] skill please." Father said with a pervy look in his eyes.
"I'm sorry Olivia, but you're gonna have to deny that skill to my foolish husband. Unless he wants an unlucky accident that will lead him straight to the hospital." Mother said with a gentle smile with a menacing aura around her. It scared the shit out of Father.
Then Alice responded. "I agree with mother. If you give father the [Lucky Lecher] skill. Our entire world will be thrown upside-down in a matter of seconds."
"So… You already figured out what that skill is huh," Father said while feeling disappointed about not getting the ultimate ecchi skill known to man.
"Of course, we know about that dirty skill father. Only the perverts, players, playboys, pimps, and scumbag men would have a skill like that," Alice said, with a nonchalant tone to her father.
I'm starting to feel a little nervous. Since I have that skill in my arsenal. Tomorrow I need to use my LP to edit my [Lucky Lecher] skill to be hidden.
So other people and women can't appraise my skill and mark me as a vulgar guy. That can seriously destroy my reputation in the Royal Capital and as an Adventurer of the Odin Guild.
"Alice is correct, except for the bad word in that sentence. Watch your language when you're in front of guests, Alice. Or I'll spank you like I did when you were in diaper punishment when you were four years old." Mother said while pointing her finger at Alice. In a threatening tone.
"Yes mother, it won't happen again," Alice said with a worried look on her face and bowed her head to her mother for mercy.
"You better hope so; for your own sake. Anyway, it's true that we nobles and commoner ladies, tend to avoid people with sexual skills in their arsenal."
Mother explained to father and continued. "So husband, you can forget about getting any type of pervy-related skill."
"I see… I'd love to have the [Muscular S] skill, complete with a six-pack, huge muscles, and that handsome face from my Adventurer days."
Father then straightened out his shirt. You should've seen me back then! With my trusty sword, I saved the city and became a Baronet!
Maybe getting buff will win me some much-needed respect around here, I could practically hear him think, judging by the impish look in his eyes.
"I would like to have the [Tulip Shield S] skill." Tigerson requested. My Tulip will no longer be a hindrance and can summon a barrier to protect my friends.
"I would love to have the [Gourmet Chef S] skill." Mother grinned as she raised her hand, dreaming about all the wonderful and delicious cuisines that she could whip up for us. I might even win first place in the Royal Capital's upcoming pie contest. I'd be the talk of the city!
In all likelihood, the actual reason mother wants this skill is that the food she makes tends to be.
How should I put this... abhorrent.
Maybe, with her new skill, she can serve up some snacks using ingredients harvested from the Hidden Dungeon and sell them at the store. That should at least turn a sizable profit.
Last up was Alice. "I want the [Superhuman Strength S] skill." Honestly, I'm pretty much okay with the skills I have now. I don't have much in the way of desires other than being Noir's adorable little sister.
Alice stared disappointingly at her scrawny biceps as she flexed her muscles. I only wish to protect my big brother, but I need the power to back it up.
My little sister means well and is a really nice girl, but I've noticed how badly she reacts whenever Emma, Lola, Luna, Leila, and Master are around.
Nevertheless, I agree that it's inevitable that Alice would one day find herself in a pickle. I'd say she'd need her new skill.
Master looked to the left and then to the right, surveying us all as she memorized each of our requests. "If nobody has any second thoughts, you may all hold my hand. I shall grant you the skills you want." Olivia said as she reached out. Mother, father, Alice, and Tigerson all did as Master instructed.
They then reacted in a chorus of surprised gasps as a heat wave of power washed over them like a tsunami. I don't think they even knew the words to describe what they were feeling.
I couldn't when my Master gave me those skills back then. I still can't. But whatever it was, I'm sure they were all thinking the same thing.
"I used [Bestow] to grant you the skills that you desired," smiled, Master. "It's the least I could do. You've all helped look out for Noir when I could not."
"Thank you so much, Olivia Servant." Mother and Alice bowed in unison, expressing their appreciation. "You have our deepest gratitude," Father added, following suit.
Tigerson crouched down, lowering his forequarters until his massive chest rested on the floor, and said, "any friend of Noir is a friend of mine."
Everyone huddled together for a group hug.
"No, I should be the one thanking you. All of you." Olivia said, projecting pride in her voice. "You are all my family." The hour grew long, and soon, everyone went to retire for the night. Master had one final question for the day. "Hey, Noir, do you mind if I crash with you?"
I jolted a little bit when I realized that Olivia was staring at me with those pleading puppy dog eyes.
"Please, Master," I replied quickly. "You're our guest here." Without a shadow of a doubt. Master will try to go through my treasure items or ecchi magazines that I hide in my room.
Maybe even attempt a body check while I'm sleeping or do something ecchi-related when I wake up in the morning.
I gestured to my bedroom door. "You can sleep in my room. I'll crash in the living room with Tigerson." She refused my offer, saying that she won't do that if I won't stay in the same room.
No way that's gonna happens any time soon. Then my nosey little sister overheard the conversation.
Alice offered Olivia to sleep in her room tonight, but Master wasn't keen on the idea and she kindly refused her offer. Mostly because my sister has killer intentions in her eyes and a murderous aura surrounding her.
Since we didn't have a spare room and I refuse to sleep with Master. I decided that it would be best if Master spent the night in the living room with Tigerson.
"Good night, Noir," yawned Olivia, clad in her purple pajamas. She looks so pretty, especially with her unbuttoned chest showing little skin of her cleavage.
"Good night, Master." I smiled warmly. Then I left the living room and headed upstairs to my room.
Once the door was closed, I dived into my warm and comfortable sheets, falling into the wonderful embrace of slumber.
