They sat, silent, in the chapel as Shelby's family filed in and filled the first few pews. Tommy clutched Kimberly's hand as he stared straight ahead and she closed her eyes to try to block out what was happening. They had been to far too many funerals in the last three years and neither of them could believe that they were burying another ranger. A ranger that was so young and had had such promise. The other rangers were seated next to them and Cameron was clutching Kimberly's other hand. He needed the most support out of all of them.

In the last few days, they had realized just how secretive Cameron and Shelby had been with their relationship. They had only just told his family and from everything they had been able to gather, Shelby's family didn't know at all. Cameron decided it was best to not tell them about their relationship, even with all of the encouragement that the rangers had given him. As far as her parents knew, he was just another good friend from college and he acted like he was alright to keep it that way.

Tommy glanced around the chapel and noticed many other students, dojo instructors, and a handful of Guardians were also in attendance. There were only a handful of people in this chapel that knew what had really happened and he knew that he was going to have to tell her family at some point. Today was not the day to explain it to them though. There was enough suffering without bringing in more confusion on what her last year had been like.

"I can't do this," Cameron whispered as Kimberly and Tommy turned to face him. The preacher had started speaking, but they were all acutely aware of how much he was suffering. They were here for him more than they were there for anyone else. "I need air."

"I'll go with you," Kim whispered as she quickly stood and moved past Tommy before ushering him out. They barely made it through the back doors before Cameron's sobs started and she caught him in a firm hug. They all knew how much he wanted to stop hurting, but he hadn't been granted that reprieve. "Let it all out- I've got you."

"I…can't…I can't do this without her," Cameron let escape and Kimberly just nodded as he continued to sob and she let the tears fall as well. This grief was so much worse than when everything had happened with Atlantis. They hadn't had time to process any of that because they just had to stay alive. This time- the monster was gone and the grief had overwhelmed all of them. "Kim…I can't…I…"

"We're not going to make you do this alone," Kim whispered as the door to the chapel swung open and someone she vaguely recognized as a family member walked out, obviously trying to collect themselves as well. Cameron continued to sob against her and she locked eyes with the family member as they gave him a good look.

"You…why do you look so familiar?" Alyssa asked as Cameron looked over at her and then quickly looked away. She was Shelby's older sister and it hurt to look at someone that looked so much like her. "Cameron?"

"How do you know my name?" Cam asked as Alyssa started crying even harder and he, hesitantly, placed his hand on her arm. "Alyssa?"

"You…she talked about you a lot. Said something about how we'd meet you when the time was right…" Alyssa trailed off as he closed his eyes and tried to force back another sob. It was yet another thing that he had messed up with her. "Why didn't you say something yesterday?"

"I couldn't. I can't…I'm sorry," Cameron whispered as Alyssa reached over to give him a hug and they both sobbed against each other as Kimberly took a step back. "It shouldn't have been her."

"Please…come sit with the family," Alyssa said as she pulled away and he just shook his head. "She loved you, you should be with us."

"Cam, go back with her. They…you have happy memories with her that they don't know about," Kim encouraged as they both looked back at her and Cameron barely nodded before he looked back at the chapel doors. "I'll be right behind you. All of us are here for you, too."

"All of us?" Alyssa asked as she looked over at Kimberly and a vague recognition washed over her.

"Her dojo friends and teachers," Kim supplied as Alyssa slowly nodded before she looked back at the doors as well, both of them frozen by their grief. "We can also stay here, it's okay if you both need that."

"I…we…" Cameron whispered as he just shook his head and took a step forward. "We have to go back."

"Okay," Kim whispered as she moved in front of them and quietly opened the door before ushering them through and they both clung to each other as they moved back to the family pews and she trailed behind them before slipping back into her seat next to Tommy.

"How'd she know?" Tommy whispered as Kim shrugged and then looked back down the pew at the rest of the rangers. "It's good that he's with them."

They walked back into the dojo later that afternoon, one ranger short, but knowing that he was where he needed to be to truly process his grief. They, silently, took off heels and suit jackets as they made their way to the Command Center entrance. None of them had been back since Shelby died, but they all knew that they needed to go back. They needed to start repairing it because there was still work to do.

"Guys- you don't have to be here for this," Tommy said as he looked over at the rangers and they all shook their heads. They needed to be here just as much as the two of them did. "When will Carrie be bringing JJ and Kira back?"

"Late- right around their bedtime," Kim supplied as Tommy nodded as he rolled up his sleeves and then slowly pulled the inner Command Center doors apart, with the boys jumping in to help as well. The utter destruction had caused the Command Center to go into lock down, even with them.

The doors groaned open and the six of them spilled into the Command Center and were greeted by an excessive amount of debris, as well as, the subtle whirring of the Command Center terminals. Tommy glanced down at his dress pants and dress shirt before he shrugged and started moving forward with the rangers helping to remove debris as they went along. As they moved into the main bay, Tommy froze and the rangers collided against his back.

"You've been busy," Tommy whispered as he felt someone crawling under his arm and he looked down to see Kimberly had wiggled in next to him. She straightened up and then stared ahead at the, mostly restored, Command Center. They both walked further into the bay and the rangers followed their lead. Tommy glanced around and saw a portrait hanging against the far wall. He slowly moved towards it as the others fanned out. The lights were still dim, but he could just make out an outline.

As he got closer to the frame, the lights suddenly switched on and he saw the blue ranger staring back at him and he just started shaking his head. He knew what the Command Center had done with the other rangers, but he couldn't imagine that it would do that here. In such a public way. After everything that had happened.

"No. No!" Tommy yelled as the portrait started to flip through different photos and he felt the pain and anger rising. He tried to pull the portrait from the wall and found that the Command Center was insistent about its place. He ignored the others stares as he held out his hand and summoned a weapon. He was barely aware of his actions as he reared back and slammed the weapon into the screen over and over screaming as the pain went through him.

"Tommy. Tommy!" Kim yelled as she grabbed the staff and wrestled it away from him. His chest heaved as the tears streamed down his face and he collapsed against her. "I know, baby. I know."

"I can't believe we just…that we buried another…" Tommy trailed off as he clutched to her and he felt her nod. Another scream was rent from his lips and he felt Kim pulling the emotions out of him to calm him. He was vaguely aware of what this must look like to the other rangers, but he had barely been holding it together over the last few days. He had hoped this would happen when only Kim was around, but the portrait had caught him off guard.

"I know," Kim whispered as she pulled back enough to look into his eyes. "The threat is gone this time- you can grieve all of it."

"Dr. O?" Julia whispered and the two of them turned back to see the rangers, huddled together on the other side of the room. "It looks the same. We can't bring Cameron back to a place that looks the same."

"Jules- why don't you and I go back and look through the dorm? Figure out what we'll need to have changed, start boxing up some things," Kim suggested as she pulled away from Tommy and she subtly checked that he was going to be alright. He barely nodded as he glanced down at his clothes and realized that they were now ruined. "Can the four of you take the group areas?"

"We'll get it," Axel said as the girls moved away and Tommy watched the boys carefully. As the footsteps faded away, Tommy barely nodded as he handed Axel his staff and the boy proceeded to destroy one console. The staff rotated through the other male rangers as they took out their pain on the equipment that hadn't kept them safe. On the equipment that allowed Kiros in here in the first place. The Command Center had failed them and they all felt that they needed to make it exceedingly clear that things needed to change. The Command Center needed to do better. They all needed to do better, because none of them could live with this happening again.

AN: It's a holiday weekend here in the states- which means it's a twofer weekend. An additional chapter of all of my stories will be dropping on Christmas day!
