Chapter 17 battle of band
Normal pov
We opened at the town square with all of Wartwood gather as Toadstool was on stage to address a certain problem.
"Simmer down everyone simmer down now I know we're all a little on edge since Sasha and Captain Grime came to stay in Wartwood." Toadstool said trying to calm everyone down.
"Why because invaded the town." Sasha shouted.
"Yeah, it was just the one time." Grime shouted.
"Guys that doesn't help your case." Blake said.
"Point is we could all use some levity" Toadstool said as a prize wheel was wheeled on stage. "So, let's consult the wheel of fun."
As he spun the wheel of fun everyone cheered, until it landed on battle of bands.
"Alright everyone get, your teams together Wartwood is having a battle of bands." Toadstood said.
As townsfolks dispersed the planters and their human friends stayed put to talk about their plan for the show.
"So, you guys think Wartwood is ready for a Sasha and the Sharps reunion?" Anne asked her friends.
"The who and the what?" Sprig asked.
"It's a garage girl band we had back home." Marcy said.
"We used to slay at talent show." Sasha said.
"Why wasn't Blake a part of it?" Polly asked.
"Two reason 1 loud music hurts my ears and 2 I just stink at music." Blake explained.
Just then Wally and a few other frogs came up to them.
"Hopediah, Sprig you guys want to join our jug band?" Wally asked them.
"You bet we do." Hop pop said happily as they walked off with his friends.
"Come on guys we can practice in the basement." Anne said as the group got up to leave.
As they left Sasha noticed Grime walking off on his own.
"Hey, Grimsey I'm going to go rehearse with the gang." Sasha said. "You alright going solo?"
"Oh yes all shall tremble before my performance." Grime said before running off laughing all way.
"Well, that scares me anyway I'll see you girls later." Blake said as he walked off to do his own thing.
Sometime later the forest outside Wartwood.
Blake was walking around enjoying some peace and quiet of nature when his ears picked up a very familiar song.
"What the that sound like heart stompers." Blake said as he followed the music until found Sasha playing with a small toad who was doing a one-man band act in a clearing.
"I'M A HEART STOMPER." Sasha sang out finishing the song and a little out of breath.
"Um hi Sasha." Blake called out startling both Sasha and the toad.
"Blake, what are you doing here?" Sasha asked.
"Hey, I was here first what are you doing here nature is my thing?" Blake asked, causing Sasha to look away embarrassed.
"We were just practicing my song for the show." Sasha said.
"Ok and reason why I want to say Toadie?" Blake asked, getting a nod from the small toad. "Is here instead of girls is because?"
"Me and Anne had fight alright." Sasha said with a huff.
"Sign so what happened?" Blake asked.
"Nothing must I just had some ideas for Anne's new song she didn't like, we argued, and I decided to go out on my own." Sasha said angrily.
"And reason Toadie here instead of Grime?" Blake asked.
"Grime was my first pick, but he said he's a solo act." Sasha said.
"That still scares me." Blake said.
"Anyway, Toadie here was ditched Toadstool and he agreed to do whatever I say." Sasha said.
"And you're ok with him replacing Anne and Marcy?" Blake asked.
"Why not they made their choices." Sasha said.
"But you girls love playing music together." Blake said.
"Yeah, but that song is so different to what I'm used to." Sasha said.
"Sasha we've been though a lot these last few months, but a song is enough to make you quit." Blake said.
"Hey, Sasha Waybright is not a quitter." Sasha snapped back.
"Then prove it by playing with Anne and Marcy." Blake said.
"Well maybe I will." Sasha said.
"Good I'll see you at the show." Blake said as he left the clearing the same way he came.
"Yeah, you will, and we're going to win." Sasha said as she walked out of clearing a different way.
"Um what just happened?" Toadie asked as he was left alone and confused.
Hours later Wartwood square.
Blake was sitting on a rooftop enjoying the show from a good distance, far enough so the music wouldn't hurt his ears but close enough to still be able to hear everything.
And soon enough our trio were up on stage as they set up Marcy' drums set while Anne and Marcy were wearing bug theme costumes and Sasha was wearing a biker outfit when they were done song began starting out slow.
Anne: "Took a leap through a box super weird to a swamp where frog talk!
Marcy: "Ooh!
Anne: "Now I'm stuck got no plans just my luck I'll do the best I can!
Marcy: "whoa!"
Anne: "Making friends and enemies it's weird but hey it's grown on me!"
And then their beat got louder and faster.
Both: "Bugs, frogs, newts, and toads going to be a bumpy road
fly for snacks worm for lunch!"
Anne: "I think I actually love this swamp!"
Both: "It's no big deal yeah no big deal!"
Find a way to start again, brush off the dirt and makes some friends!
It's no big deal yeah no big deal!
I feel at home in a place that shouldn't be real!
Crazy strange but it's no big deal!
Mayor Toadstool: "Well, it's certainly charming I just hope there's a very cool guitar solo about to drop."
Sasha: "Here we go!"
Sasha shredded her guitar so hard it made a shockwave that knocked everyone back and cause Blake cover his ears.
Trio: "Ooooh
It's no big deal yeah no big deal!
I feel at home in a place that shouldn't be real!"
Anne: "Killer birds…"
Trio: "But it's no big deal!"
Sasha: "Riding snails…"
Trio: "But it's no big deal!"
Marcy: "Eating flies…"
Trio: "But it's no big deal!"
Anne: "Finally, me and it's no big deal!"
Once they had finished the town cheer, the girls bowed and walked backstage.
After a few minutes Grime came on stage with a large case which he opened revealing a golden harp.
"This piece is dedicated to serenity in nature." Grime said as he started playing.
He played for three hours, and it was so beautiful it drove everyone to tears. When he finished the crowd cheered and he was given a perfect score.
Once the show was over Blake rejoined his friends.
"Hey girls sorry you lose but I'm not sure anytime could have beaten that." Blake said.
"No problem and you were right I do love playing with the girls." Sasha said.
"Um did we miss something?" Marcy asked.
"Let's just say Sasha and I had a little talk after I walk in on weirdest version of heart stompers." Blake said.
"Alright folks gather around I got one more announcement to make." Toadstool said getting everyone attention before addressing the four teens. "Now as I understand it you four kid will be leaving us soon."
"Yep, with box charged we'll heading to Newtopia tomorrow so the king can send us home." Anne said before addressing the crowd. "Everyone you've all done so much for me, and I'll miss you more than you could ever know." As she went on the town started crying but had smiles on their faces clearly showing that they care for Anne and were sad to see her go.
"Aw Anne look you got them all sad teary eye." Blake said, getting a little teary eye himself.
"Ha look who's talking tough guy." Sasha said.
"Hey just because I'm a guy does not mean I don't have feeling." Blake said.
"Guys stop it you're ruining the moment." Marcy said.
"Sorry." They both said before everyone burst out laughing.
"Hey before we go let's take a group photo?" Anne asked.
"Heck yeah everybody line up." Toadstood said.
After a few of minutes so everyone had a chance to getting into position and Sprig putting Anne's phone on a stand.
"Sprig on come." Anne said as her frog friend finish setting the phone camera timer.
Sprig race over getting into place just as the camera went off.

Omake 16 The winter ball part 4
As Alex's car pull up to the school Blake got out to open the door for his friends
"Alright my lady our evening awaits." Blake said as he took Marcy's hand to help her out of the car.
"Why thank you good sir." Marcy said doing a little curtsy causing Sasha to gag.
"Guys, please stop being so mushy." Sasha said.
"Come on Sasha let those two have their fun besides we have our own dates waiting for us." Anne said pointing to two boys in the distance.
"Alright you guys I'll be back to pick you four up around ten have fun and call if you need me." Alex said before driving off.
"Should we." Blake said as he held her hand.
"We should." Marcy said as they walked to the entrance.

Wow the last chapter of 2023 next up true color and oh boy that going to take a while likely won't be done until February maybe March since I want it to by my best chapter, yet it is a finale after all.
