Daughter Of Batman 3 Chapter 1

Gotham City truly is a city that never sleeps when it comes to crime. No sooner is one awful incursion settled than another seems to rise from the woodwork.

Particularly various turf wars and a more recent one has just come to a head.

Currently, a man known as Chuckie Sol who works for the infamous Black Mask Mob is kidnapped by masked assailants from a rival criminal underworld organization.

Chuckie Sol is under heavy restraint and brutally being interrogated by Electrocutioner, Firefly, Killer Moth, and Tusk at an abandoned and decommissioned factory when suddenly they're interrupted by a new female crimefighter going by the alias Batwoman. But a major difference between her and those in the coalition already established is that she uses guns. Batwoman's true name is Katy Kane and she's way out of her league and out of line using guns in Batman's name when it's obviously apparent that he finds the use of such weapons despicable, appalling, deplorable, and unacceptable. Katy Kane is doing herself no favors by becoming one of them so callously. She should've chosen a different alternate persona.

Batwoman is heavily outnumbered and even with the use of her guns, she is outmatched because of her inexperience in the field.

Just when it seems like Batwoman is about to be overwhelmed and taken off the board that is when Batman and Lunar Rose intervene to save her skin.

Standing protectively over Batwoman, Bruce said "That's no way to treat a lady."

Raising her fists, Ao growling on her shoulder, Danika sneered "I highly doubt these guys are even aware of the rules of etiquette. None of them are even gentlemen."

Bruce takes on the bulk of the major players with Katy colliding with the rest of the goons. The duo keeps them off Danika as she cuts Chuckie Sol free of his bindings with Ao's help. The squirrel chews on thin sections of the ropes to make it easier. Once free Chuckie Sol runs for his life away from the conflict as Danika joins in the scuffle, sticking close to Bruce's side.

Katy Kane shows little appreciation for the timely rescue on their part stating she could've handled the matter on her own, not needing any help. Wounded pride getting the better of her emphasized by her stubborn determination to use guns as her primary weapon despite Bruce redirecting her shots and berating her for it. Informing Batwoman that by using guns she's no better than the criminals she's fighting against. The scolding she receives makes Katy Kane feel like a child instead of a fighter. That's one of the important sentiments taught to her that has Danika not using the Moonstone's dark magic on their enemies.

This prolonged confrontation takes them deeper into the foundation. Most of the criminal element here is taken out with very few do remain standing long enough to continue to put up a serious fight.

During the scuffle, Batwoman had been nabbed by one of Killer Moth's contraptions and taken inside. Using one of her guns for defense instead of offense she blew out the control system and dropped onto a long catwalk.

Here Firefly shows up and goes to remove her from the picture with grenades. Batman gets there in the nick of time, knocking her to the floor and away from them. Danika uses an exploding batarang to disable his flight system.

Lifting Firefly by his suit, Bruce growled "This wasn't a break-in. Was it, Firefly?"

Breathing heavily through his mask, hoarsely, Firefly said "Of course not."

"They're working for someone new," deduced Bruce.

Someone not on their radar.

"Who," demanded Batwoman.

The answer came in heavy footsteps from behind.

Appearing out of the dissipating smoke from the grenades is their leader, the one calling the shots.

Heretic, wearing his full armor, the red-eyed bat mask on his face being the most prominent.

Heretic's faithful second in command Onyx right by his side.

"This is truly an honor, Batman," said Heretic, balefully cold, cracking his knocking threatening in preparation. "I've waited so very long for this moment. Though the circumstances are less than ideal."

"Do I know you," said Bruce.

"Intimately…And not at all," said Heretic, cryptically, inclining his head.

Batman narrows his eyes trying to figure out where he might've encountered this criminal element before.

An image flashes briefly before Bruce's eyes. One he's only glimpsed in his nightmares.

Bruce's small, hitched breath, barely noticeable, was the only sign Danika required that something wasn't right.

"Batman," broached Danika.

"Quiet," said Bruce, firmly, holding an arm out to block Danika from advancing.

All at once Heretic's gaze diverts, locking onto Danika with a sheer level of intensity that Bruce immediately doesn't like.

"The girl…," said Heretic, a touch wistful, taking a step toward her.

"And you rag on me for stealing your look," scoffed Batwoman, scowling, rushing forward to engage the threat herself.

Big mistake.

Heretic makes quick work of Katy Kane, knocking her head against the rails, disorienting her. Heretic continues his advance, his focus trained onto Danika without wavering. Batman shifts into a defensive stance.

Speaking to Danika, Bruce ordered "Stay back."

Bruce and Heretic lock into fierce hand-to-hand combat. A staggering Batwoman valiantly jumps in to give Batman an opening, but the gap isn't, unfortunately, large enough.

Knocking Batwoman to the side Heretic nails a kick on Batman so hard it launches him toward the other end of the catwalk.

This results in Danika unintentionally getting hit, sending her sprawling on the catwalk grating. Ao slips from her shoulder but rushes over to nuzzle her face. Danika's bun came loose in the tumble, causing her midnight black hair to flow free from its bindings.

Danika moans bringing her head to her head as she shakes the bleariness out of it.

Ao's alarmed and fearful chitters alert her to what's going on.

Raising her head Danika discovers Heretic's looming form directly in front of her.

Danika hastily backs away from Heretic's intimidating stature until her back is pressing against the rails preventing her from tumbling over the edge.

The strange thing about this is that for some reason Heretic's body language shows he has no intentions of harming her. No, instead his careful movements, as he lowers to one knee, staring straight into her scared eyes is of reassurance that she will not come to harm in his presence.

Reinforcing this, eyes and voice softening, Heretic said "I'm not going to hurt you, Danika."

What the…How does he know her name?!

No one outside of their close-knit family is supposed to know that information.

Danika's eyes round in shock underneath her mask.

Heretic slowly stretches out a hand toward her face, Danika instinctively cringing away…

Batwoman abruptly reappears kicking Heretic hard in the side to get him away from her. This works at a cost.

The catwalk is now unstable from all this fighting. The part she's on comes loose and Danika slides off with Ao unable to react.

Thinking fast Batwoman jumps over, grabs Danika's hand, and uses a grapple gun to gain a foothold.

Bruce grabs the other end of the line to pull them up to secure the ground.

Heretic has no intention of him succeeding in this.

"Onyx, now," commanded Heretic.

Onyx throws multiple daggers at multiple critical points in Batman's body, immobilizing him.

"Rest well, Batman," said Heretic, pressing the button on a trigger switch he had concealed.

Explosives go off all around him. Bruce has just enough strength left to swing Danika and Katy Kane out through a window quicker than the raging fire can even graze them.

Danika, Ao, and Katy Kane plummeted down the air and hit the water with a crash.

Frantically, Danika swims to the surface clutching Ao to her chest and Batwoman does the same beside her.

The image they're met with is horrifying.

The whole facility is in flames, crumbling from the heat all around them.

And Batman is nowhere in sight.

"No," whispered Danika, devastated.

How could this have happened?

Authors Note:

For those of you on fanfiction I'm sure you've been facing the many unwanted ads when you're reading a story. Well, yesterday, I finally had enough, and I got an adblocker app. It worked! No more ads on any level! The one I got is Adblock Pro: Safari Ad Blocker. It really works. Just follow the instruction video that it attached to it.

Heads up everyone there's someone on fanfiction you need to seriously watch out for. Early a couple of months ago after I woke up I was checking my email and I saw I had a new guest review on my A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 2 sequel. I took a look at it and got a very big shock. Some random person I've never spoken to before on here or anywhere else in my life was basically threatening me. Intimidating and practically ordering me to write a threatening letter to someone on their behalf, telling to stay off of for life or else they and everyone else close to them would be killed, disgustingly telling them to kill themselves. And at the bottom of the message this crazy person wasn't done. Warning me that if I don't send the letter then they would kill me and for confirmation to email them to make absolutely sure I complied with their demands. Of course I did nothing of the sort. Instead of doing what they wanted I reported them to the website, sent copies of this deplorable guest review message to police officer cousins of mine so they could have it on file, and I went to a nearby police station and reported it.

When I spoke to the police officers and they checked everything on the message they saw, that while the address and names of business were accurate the people and their names were not. They agree it was more than likely a scam because of the email address on the bottom in order to perhaps get access to personal information or potentially hack my computer. Despite that I'm still very happy they took it seriously as I showed and told them everything. All the same I'm still very happy that I brought this to the attention of law enforcement. Even though the entire thing might be fake I'm still very happy to have brought this to the attention of those who can do something about it if it was legit in some way. This may have been a scam, but it's obvious these people are beyond irresponsible if they try to goad people into sending death threats to random strangers just to get access to info.

Be that as it may if this does unfortunately happen to you do not send any messages to the email addresses they put down and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you bring the message to the authorities immediately whether it is legit or not.

Because it's a guest review it might not be visible for a couple of days as it loads if it is sent to you. But when it does you should definitely pressing the report abuse button and send it to the email that leads to the support staff that is available.

Just a heads up to those of you who aren't aware of this yet, Email alerts for this website are now only active if Email opts is enabled in account settings.

I hope you all like this one! I certainly did while writing it for your vast enjoyment! ;D

For those of you just starting out with my stuff there are other works on my profile that may catch your interest. I highly recommend you take a look as soon as the opportunity presents itself to you. Who knows, you may be pleasantly surprised by what you discover.

Stay safe everyone. Especially with all of these crazy natural disasters occurring a lot lately due to global warming and climate change everywhere for sure. I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.

So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.

I know I am. ;) See you guys next time.
