Motostoke Gym Battles (Part Two)
Lana enters the Gym Test area; then after the official explained what she had to do, she went and captured a Rolycoly, Litwick, and the Sizzlipede; earning her enough points to pass. After that, she heads out to the stadium field and walks out to the center where Kabu was waiting for her.
"You did well to pass your Gym Test, young lady." said Kabu.
"Thanks." said Lana. The referee then comes out to center of the arena to explain the rules.
"This Gym Battle is between the Gym Leader, Kabu; and the Gym Challenger, Lana Loud." said the official. "Both trainers will each use three Pokemon; whoever manages to defeat all the other trainer's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the battle begin." said the official before he walks to the sidelines. Lana and Kabu then walk to opposite ends of the arena and each take out a pokeball. Lana throws hers, releasing her Silicobra; and Kabu throws his, releasing his Ninetales.
"Kabu is starting out with his Ninetales, while Lana is starting out with a Silicobra." said the announcer.
"You can do it, Lana!" shouts Lola.
"We're rooting for you!" said Ronnie Anne. Lana smiles at the support she was getting.
Back in Royal Woods, everyone at the Loud House were watching the match with anticipation.
"I hope Lana can win." said Rita.
"Don't worry; Lana will do just fine." said Lori. "We, literally, need to have faith in her."
"I do, sweetie." said Rita.
Back at Motostoke Stadium, the battle was just getting started.
"Ninetales, use Will-o-Wisp!" said Kabu. Ninetales summons small purple flames at the end of its tails and launches them at Palpitoad, coating her, and causing burns to appear on her body.
"Oh no; Silicobra's burned." said Lincoln. But after he said that, Silicobra's skin starts to peel off.
"EWWW! What's wrong with Silicobra?" asked Lola.
"She needs some aloe vera." said Leni.
"Wait, I think Silicobra has the Shed Skin ability." said Lincoln.
"What's that?" asked Lola.
"It gives the Pokemon with that ability a chance to cure itself of status conditions." said Lincoln.
"That just came in handy." said Lucy.
"Silicobra, use Bulldoze!" shouts Lana. Silicobra's body starts shaking, sending vibrations through the ground towards Ninetales, hitting her, doing super effective damage, and reducing her speed. "Now use Headbutt!" Silicobra coils her body and springs towards Ninetales, ramming its chest, headfirst, causing it to flinch. "Now, Brutal Swing!" Silicobra starts swinging her body around, whacking Ninetales in the side of its head, and knocking it out.
"Ninetales is unable to battle. Silicobra is the winner." said the referee.
"And Lana's Silicobra manages to defeat Kabu's Ninetales!" said the announcer. "Let's see if she can keep the momentum going."
"Good work, Silicobra!" said Lana. Silicobra smiles at the praise.
"Silicobra did it!" said Lincoln.
"That was so cool how she cured herself of the burn status." said Clyde. Back in Royal Woods, everyone at the Loud House was cheering Lana on.
"That's one down, two to go." said Lynn Jr.
"Keep it up, Lana!" cheered Lynn Sr.
"You can do it!" said Lori.
Back at Motostoke Stadium, Kabu returns his Ninetales to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Ninetales." said Kabu. He puts Ninetales' pokeball away and pulls out another one; he then throws it, releasing his Arcanine.
"And Kabu brings out his Arcanine. Can it beat Lana's Silicobra?" asked the announcer. Arcanine growls at Silicobra, making her nervous, and lowering her attack.
"And Arcanine uses his Intimidate ability." said the announcer.
"Arcanine, Extreme Speed!" said Kabu. Arcanine charges at Silicobra at lightning speed and slams into her.
"Silicobra, use Glare!" said Lana. Silicobra glares harshly at Arcanine, making it paralyzed with fright.
"Use Extreme Speed again!" said Kabu. Arcanine tries to do so, but paralysis kicks in, stopping it.
"Silicobra, use Dig!" said Lana. Silicobra tunnels underground, making Arcanine look around for her.
"And Lana's Silicobra goes underground. Where and when will it strike?" asked the announcer. Just then, Silicobra bursts out of the ground and rams into Arcanine, doing super effective damage.
"Arcanine, use Flame Wheel!" said Kabu. Arcanine then fights through paralysis and runs at Silicobra with its body becoming engulfed in flame as it does. It rams into Silicobra, making her slide backwards.
"Hurry and use Bulldoze!" said Lana. Silicobra uses Bulldoze again against Arcanine, doing super effective damage, and lowering its speed.
"Hurry and use Bite!" said Kabu. Arcanine tries to move at Silicobra, but paralysis stops it.
"Silicobra, use Headbutt!" said Lana. Silicobra springs forward and rams into Arcanine, knocking it over, unconscious.
"Arcanine is unable to battle. Silicobra is the winner." said the referee.
"And Silicobra takes out Kabu's Arcanine! Now all Lana has to do is defeat one more of Kabu's Pokemon to win the match!" said the announcer.
"Keep it up, Lana!" said Ronnie Anne.
"You almost got this!" said Lincoln.
Back at the Loud House, everyone was cheering Lana on.
"All Lana has to do is defeat one more of that Kabu guy's Pokemon and she'll win!" said Lori.
"She can do it!" said Lynn Jr.
Back at Motostoke Stadium, Lana's Rotom Phone chimes; she takes it out and sees that Silicobra just learned Sandstorm.
"Cool! A new attack!" said Lana. Kabu returns his Arcanine to its pokeball.
"You fought well, old friend." said Kabu. "And you're doing quite well, young lady."
"Thanks." said Lana. Kabu then puts Arcanine's pokeball away and pulls out his last one; he throws it, releasing his Centiskorch. He then returns it to its pokeball and uses his Dynamax Band to enlarge it; he throws it, releasing his Centiskorch, only Gigantimaxed. Lana then does the same with her Silicobra, but Dynamaxed.
"Kabu has Gigantimaxed his Centiskorch while Lana has Dynamaxed her Silicobra. Who will win?" asked the announcer.
"Silicobra, use Max Quake!" said Lana. Silicobra digs into the ground and sends a tremor through it at Centiskorch, hitting it. When Silicobra comes back up, her body was covered in soil which increases her special defense.
"Centiskorch, use G-Max Centiferno!" said Kabu. Centiskorch bunches its body together and releases a large stream of fire at Silicobra, hitting her, and making fire appear around her.
"Good thing that Max Quake increased Silicobra's defense." said Lincoln. "I don't know how much more Silicobra can take."
"I hope Lana will be okay." said Leni.
"She'll be fine." said Ronnie Anne. Lana looks at Silicobra with concern.
"Do you want to stop, Silicobra?" asked Lana. Silicobra looks down at Lana and shakes her head left and right. "Okay, if you want to keep fighting, I won't force you to." Lana then remembers the move that Silicobra just learned. "Silicobra, use Max Rockfall!" Silicobra summons up a large slab of rock which leans over and falls onto Centiskorch, doing lots of super effective damage, due to it being part fire and part bug. When the stone slab breaks apart, everyone sees that Centiskorch was back to its normal size, unconscious.
"Centiskorch is unable to battle. Silicobra is the winner. Which means the winner of the match is the Gym Challenger, Lana Loud." said the referee. The crowd roars with applause.
"She did it! Silicobra was so close to losing, but Lana hangs in there to pick up the victory over Kabu!" said the announcer.
"Lana won!" said Leni.
"I knew she could do it!" said Lincoln.
"We all did!" said Clyde.
Back in Royal Woods, everyone was cheering at Lana's victory.
"She won!" said Lynn Jr.
"That was close." said Lynn Sr with sweat on his forehead.
"I was on the edge of my seat." said Lori.
"We all were." said Rita.
Back at Motostoke Stadium, Lana's Silicobra returns to her normal size.
"I knew you could do it, Silicobra!" said Lana as she runs to Silicobra and hugs her. Suddenly, Silicobra freezes up and starts to glow. "Silicobra, you're evolving!" The crowd watches as Silicobra starts to change. When she finished, her body was bigger, longer, her muzzle was longer, her body was coiled with the part near her head being brown and greenish brown.
"And Lana's Silicobra has just evolved into Sandaconda! Lana's Pokemon are full of surprsises!" said the announcer. Lana takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at her newly evolved Pokemon.
"Sandaconda, the Sand Snake Pokemon, and the evolved form of Silicobra. Its unique style of coiling allows it to blast sand out of its sand sac more efficiently." said Lana's Rotom Phone.
"This is so cool!" said Lana as she hugs her new Sandaconda. Kabu, after getting over his surprise at the sudden evolution, returns his Centiskorch to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Centiskorch." said Kabu. He puts Centiskorch's pokeball away and walks over to Lana and Sandaconda. "You battle quite well for someone so young."
"Yeah, I'm pretty tough." said Lana before belching. Kabu then reaches into his pocket and pulls out a Fire Badge.
"As proof of your victory, I present you with this Fire Badge." said Kabu as he hands the Fire Badge, along with some pokedollars, to Lana.
"Oh yeah!" said Lana as she holds up her Fire Badge in triumph. "I just won the Fire Badge!"
Later in the lobby, Lana's friends and family were all congratulating her.
"You were great, Lana." said Lincoln.
"Totes!" said Leni.
"I know." said Lana as she wipes her knuckles on her jersey. A staff member walks over to them.
"Which of you is battling next?" asked the staff member.
"I am." said Lucy from behind the staff member, startling him.
"Okay, please follow me." said the staff member after getting over his near-heart attack. He then leads Lucy into the Gym Test area. Once inside, an official tells her what she has to do. Lucy then captures a Litwick and defeated two Vulpixes and a Sizzlipede to earn enough points to pass the Gym Test. Moments later, Lucy and Kabu were standing on the center of the arena with a referee on the sideline.
"This Gym Battle is between the Gym Leader, Kabu; and the Gym Challenger, Lucy Loud." said the official. "Lucy starts off with a Frillish while Kabu starts off with Ninetales." said the announcer.
"You can do it, Lucy!" said Lincoln.
"You totes can!" said Leni. Everyone else in Royal Woods watches with anticipation.
"Frillish, Rain Dance." said Lucy. Frillish raises her tentacles and wiggles around. Gray clouds appeared above the arena, and it begins to rain.
"Ninetales, Will-O-Wisp!" said Kabu. Ninetales lifts up its tales and purple flames appeared on each end of them. Ninetales launches them at Frillish, and they hit her. Her body becomes covered in flames.
"Oh no, Frillish is burned!" said Clyde.
"So now she'll take more damage, and her attack strength is weakened." said Lincoln. Frillish flinches in pain from her burn.
"Frillish, Water Pulse." said Lucy. Frillish forms a ball of water on her tentacles and she launches it at Ninetales, doing more damage due to the rain powering up Frillish's water type moves. "Fortunately, Burn doesn't weaken special attack strength." Ninetales begins stumbling around. "And it looks like Ninetales is confused."
"Ninetales, Fire Spin!" said Kabu. Ninetales tries to use Fire Spin, but confusion gets the better of it and it hurts itself. Frillish flinches due to her burn and loses some stamina.
"Frillish, Brine." said Lucy. Frillish fires a stream of water out of her mouth and it hits mouth, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Ninetales is unable to battle. Frillish wins the match." said the referee.
"And Lucy's Frillish has defeated Kabu's Ninetales. What will Kabu do next?" asked the announcer.
"You go, Lucy!" said Lana.
"Way to go, little sis!" said Luna. Back in Royal Woods, everyone is cheering.
"Lucy did it!" said Lynn Sr.
"Lucy still has to defeat two more of Kabu's Pokemon, father." said Lisa.
"Lucy's got this." said Lynn Jr.
"I literally hope so." said Lori. Back at Motostoke Stadium, Kabu returns Ninetales to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Ninetales." said Kabu. He puts Ninetales pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Arcanine, go!" He throws Arcanine's pokeball and releases it.
"And Kabu brings out his Arcanine." said the announcer.
"Frillish, Shadow Ball." said Lucy. Frillish forms a black ball of energy, and she launches it at Arcanine, hitting it, and weakening its special defense.
"Arcanine, Bite!" said Kabu. Arcanine runs at Frillish and bites her, dealing super effective damage to her. Frillish flinches in pain from her burn.
"Water Pulse." said Lucy. Frillish launches another ball of water on her tentacles and launches it at Arcanine, hitting it, dealing super effective damage due to its special defense being weakened. Arcanine begins stumbling around, due to confusion from Water Pulse.
"Arcanine, try using Bite!" said Kabu. Arcanine instead bites its front leg, damaging itself. Frillish receives damage from her burn.
"Frillish, Recover." said Lucy. Frillish's body glows yellow and most of her wounds were healed.
"Arcanine, use Bite!" said Kabu. Arcanine fights through its confusion and runs at Frillish.
"Frillish, dodge." said Lucy. Frillish floats up in the air and dodges Arcanine as it tries to bite her. "Now use Brine." Frillish fires a stream of water out of her mouth and it hits Arcanine, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Arcanine is unable to battle. Frillish wins the match." said the referee.
"And Frillish and defeated Kabu's second Pokemon. Now Lucy is one win away from victory." said the announcer.
"You're doing great, Lucy!" said Ronnie Anne.
"Keep going!" said Sam.
"Just one more, Lucy!" said Lola. Back in Royal Woods.
"You can do it, Lucy!" said Rita.
"Go, Wucy!" said Lily.
"Lucy's doing quite well." said Howard McBride.
"She certainly is." said Harold McBride. Back at Motostoke Stadium, Kabu returns Arcanine to its pokeball.
"You did well out there, Arcanine." said Kabu. He looks at Lucy while putting Arcanine's pokeball away. "You've trained your Frillish well, Lucy."
"I've had the spirts help." replied Lucy, making Kabu a little rain suddenly stopped.
"But it looks like your little rainstorm is over." Kabu pulls out another pokeball. "But let's see if you can still beat my final Pokemon. Centiskorch, go!" He throws Centiskorch's pokeball and releases it. He returns Centiskorch to its pokeball and enlarges it with his Dynamax Band; he throws it, releasing his now Gigantimaxed Centiskorch. Lucy returns Frillish to her pokeball and uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge it; she throws it, releasing Frillish, now Dynamaxed. "Centiskorch, G-Max Centiferno!" Centiskorch bunches its body together and releases a large stream of fire at Frillish, hitting her, and making fire appear around her.
"Man; with Frillish's burn and the fire from G-Max Inferno, Lucy better end this battle quickly." said Lincoln.
"Frillish, Max Geyser." said Lucy. Frillish fires a stream of water out of her mouth and it hits Centiskorch, landing a critical hit and dealing super effective damage to Centiskorch. It suddenly begins to rain. "Looks like my little rainstorm is back." Frillish receives damage from her burn and the fire from G-Max Centiferno."
"Centiskorch, Max Flutterby!" said Kabu. Centiskorch releases glowing green butterflies from its body, and they hit Frillish, but not doing much damage to her, but weakening her special attack strength.
"Don't give up, Lucy!" said Lincoln.
"We believe in you!" said Clyde.
"You can totes do it!" said Leni. Back in Royal Woods.
"Go, Lucy!" said Lynn Jr.
"We're right behind you in spirit, sweetie!" said Rita.
"Not just the ones you're always talking to." said Luan.
"Well said, Luan." said Lynn Sr. Back at Motostoke Stadium.
"Frillish, Max Geyser!" said Lucy. Frillish unleashes an even stronger stream of water out of her mouth and it hits Centiskorch, dealing super effective damage to it. It shrinks down to its regular size and collapses.
"Centiskorch is unable to battle. Frillish wins the match. The winner of this gym battle is the challenger, Lucy Loud." said the referee.
"She's done it! Lucy's Frillish has defeated all three of Kabu's Pokemon to win the gym battle!" said the announcer. Lincoln, his family, with him and in Royal Woods, and his friends all cheered. Frillish returns to her regular size.
"It may not look it, but I'm proud of you, Frillish." said Lucy. Kabu returns Centiskorch to its pokeball.
"I'm proud of you too, Centiskorch." said Kabu. He puts Centiskorch's pokeball away and walks to Lucy. "That was an incredible match, Lucy." Lucy nods in response. Kabu takes a Fire Badge out of his pocket. "For your victory here, I hereby reward you with the Fire Badge." He gives Lucy the Fire Badge, along with pokedollars.
At the lobby, Lucy was being congratulated by Lincoln, her sisters, and her friends.
"You were amazing out there, Lucy." said Lincoln.
"You totes were." said Leni.
"Thank you." replied Lucy. A staff member approaches the group.
"Are any of you ready to challenge Kabu?" asked the staff member.
"I'm ready to rock!" said Luna. The staff member steps aside and Luna walks towards the door that lead to where the Gym Test is taking place. Will she pass the test and defeat Kabu?
