[Panacea- Amy Dallon[10th March]

"...so you really won't come to the movie?"

"No, Vicky." She repeated for what seemed like the thousandth time. She had to try hard not to let her frustration slip into her voice. Amelia Dallon or Amy as everyone called her, was not in a good mood. And having her sister pester her for yet another double date was not making her already shit mood any better.

"Okay fine. And I had somehow even managed to convince Miss Militia for it. You need to get out of that broody phase Amy and learn to chill out." With that the line was cut. She could feel her sister's pout even over the phone. Most of the time even the memory of her sister's pouty face would get a smile on her face. But now, all it managed to do was deepen the frown on her face.

After all, Vicky was going out with that bastard Dean. Oh how she resented that asshole. She objectively knew that it wasn't his fault for how things were. In reality, she didn't really care. That good for nothing Blaster stole Vicky for her. Of course, this was the time her shame and guilt came back in full force. She really shouldn't think of Vicky this way.

At least, Vicky had the decency to arrange a date with someone she wouldn't be adverse to dating. Miss Militia was hot as fuck. Amy would be lying if she said that she hadn't masturbated at the thought of the Protectorate cape. If she wasn't nearly 100% Vickysexual(she felt ashamed even thinking this way),

Miss Militia would have been one of the top contenders for her affection. Strong, smart, sweet, a decent rack and a nice ass- nearly everything she desired in her romantic partner. After that damned Prophet's initial posts, the whole family was hysterical.

Someway or the other, she had admitted to her sexual orientation when asked(read: interrogated) by Vicky about her opinion on all that Panacea smut. Though now that she thought about it, Crystal coming out in the open with her new girlfriend Tattletale(who had a very nice ass) may have played a huge part in her decision.

As far as she knew, Crystal had only dated boys before but oh well, nobody was going to criticize her for being bisexual- she certainly wouldn't. Tattletale was sexy as fuck.

Amy knew she shouldn't read smut based on herself but all those fanfics pairing her with Miss Militia, Laserdream(Crystal) and even Lady Photon(Sarah) got her hot and bothered. Not to mention- the fics gave her some much needed confidence in her looks. She wasn't supermodel pretty unlike the rest of the NewWave but the fact that so many people found her attractive(even if they were internet creeps) boosted her confidence a lot.

Now only if that Thinker asshole hadn't deigned it necessary to block Panacea/Glory Girl smut.

Even if she was consumed by guilt and shame immediately after the blissful release of a climax, she couldn't help but read those smut pieces again and again. In her defence, SpecificProtagonist wrote good smut. That one fic which had her involved in a poly relationship featuring Crystal, Tattletale, Sarah and herself was one of her favourites. It pushed a lot of her buttons and damn it was good.

Amy suddenly realised that she should stop thinking about all the smut she had consumed. She still had to be in the hospital for a few more hours. She couldn't let herself get aroused like that. That would be counterproductive.

"Do I have the permission to heal you?" Panacea absently asked. Healing had become an absolute chore for her after the thousandth time she did it. She had healed millions of people and by this time, healing didn't give her the satisfaction she expected it to give her.

Yes, it certainly felt amazing to be thanked for healing people in the beginning but by now, people expected her to heal them. Barely anyone had the decency to thank Panacea for her contributions to Brockton Bay. She had just become another tool, another screw in the system. Nearly nobody thanked her. Those that did thank her-

"Thanks for curing my child. I would do anything in my limits if you ever ask, Panacea."

-only made her feel disgusted. What could they understand about her burden? What could they understand about the crippling need to save everyone? They couldn't- no, they wouldn't understand the feeling of knowing that every second she wasted, someone died. She had to live with that burden. It was her burden to carry.

"No problem, sir. Now, can you please leave the premises? Other patients are waiting." She said with that same fake smile Panacea always had to carry, the same fake one that turned Amy Dallon into Panacea and the same fake one she couldn't get rid of.

"Oh right. Still, remember what I said, kid. If you ever need help, call me." The older man said before leaving his card on the table and evacuating the quarters with now healed son.

She had to resist the urge to burn the card down then and there. What could they do to help? Could they heal others? Could they help her in reducing the loss of life? If no, then their empty promises held no fucking weight.

Panacea wanted to shout that to the idiot who had the gall to say that bullshit but she held it in. After all, Panacea was a good doctor and good people didn't unload their temper on their patients.

She went on to the next patient, busy in her own thoughts. At this point, she didn't even need to see or think about her patients to heal them. Her body did that on autopilot.

Thinking back to Vicky, she felt another wave of jealousy and frustration. Thanks to the rather major uproar about Alexandria's scam(Amy couldn't believe that the heroine did such a thing), the thing about Vicky nearly killing several gangsters was swept under the rug. It helped that Prophet's comment about Vicky was lost in the sea of comments on that thread.

The local Protectorate didn't bring up the issue and luckily no one from the local gangs picked up the issue either. That would have been a massive PR disaster if brought to light. In the following weeks, Prophet's announcements brought attention to many other things thus letting Vicky's issue slide under the rug.

Her sister got some flak from the family members but they just told her to get a control over that temper of hers and some of them suggested methods to control temper. Of course not all of the family was that understanding.

Carol threw a bitch fit and unsurprisingly pushed most of the blame onto Amy saying that it was Panacea's safety net that made Vicky act so reckless. Of course, none of the other family members agreed with her and most of them even argued in Amy's support( and wasn't that surprising). But Carol wouldn't budge on the issue.

That was the first time in her life that Panacea/Amy lost her temper. The recent happenings coupled with Prophet's obsession was already getting to her. This was just the cherry on the top.

It was the first time she raised her voice in the house and told Carol to 'fuck off with your holier-than-thou attitude, you bitch!'. And wasn't that satisfying. The conversation promptly devolved into a shouting contest but in the end, everyone supported her(even if the older members of the family chastised her for her language).

Amy had never felt so free in her life. Of course, this was just the only good thing to happen after that fucker Prophet's announcements. Somehow Vicky and Dean's relationship got even stronger after going through such a 'difficult time' together- sometimes she felt the need to tell Vicky to cut off with the sappy BS.

But still, she was right. It was blatantly obvious that Vicky and Dean's relationship had progressed. Despite her flirty behaviour, Victoria hadn't actually had sex. Yeah, she and Dean had everything short of vaginal sex but not actual sex. Unfortunately for Amy, this changed a few weeks back. Her Victoria's first time was taken by someone else.

For a few days afterwards, she had to clamp down on the urge to give cancer to Dean- his flinches whenever he was near her were enough to tell her about her emotional state even from an outside perspective. She had thrown herself into all that Panacea smut to get her mind off Vicky and it worked…somewhat.

Panacea was truly incorrigible, wasn't she? She couldn't stop lusting after her sister and now she couldn't help but masturbate to smut of her and her fucking relatives.

At least, there wasn't any smut of her with Carol. The only way she could see that happening was an extreme case of Stockholm syndrome. Even then if it was dubious.

Shaking her head to get rid of such thoughts, she focused on healing the next patient.

Of course, the matter with Vicky wasn't the end. Somehow, a fucking gang war started in the Bay. The Protectorate were lucky to have been informed by that mystery Thinker(not the bastard Prophet obviously) about the whole E88 rooster's civilian identities.

Yeah, it was a major violation of the unwritten rules. But who cared about them? They were just a facade of false safety. Ask Fleur how much effective the Unwritten rules were. She chuckled at the morbid joke.

Besides, she was a part of New Wave and they were all about 'accountability'.

Well at least the Protectorate managed to capture nearly all the E88 capes alongside Lung. And Armsmaster finally got his head out of his ass. The Blue Power ranger expy took his sweet time but the ten foot pole was finally out of his ass.

She didn't exactly like or dislike the new 'Hero' Weaver. She wasn't bad by any means but the sheer brutality of her attacks made Panacea's spine shiver. She had been given the task of healing the non-powered members of the Nazi group after Weaver unceremoniously dumped them in some GCPD office in the city. And the wounds were brutal as fuck even if they weren't meant to be fatal.

She was neutral about the new cape in the town. While Vicky was brutal as well, that was a result of her hot headedness and not inner sadism. The police and the PRT ignored Weaver's methods as she was ultimately a hero and didn't seem to have any villainous inclinations so far.

And that's not mentioning the omnious looking titles that were given to the cape by Prophet(just like with Amy). She supposed she might be friends with the cape if only due to their mutual suffering at the hands of the shitty Thinker named Prophet.

One of the only good things the bastard seems to have done is exposing the 'Endbringer conspiracy' as people called it. That 'David' better be doing his fucking best to control the Endbringers. She was nearly always there during Endbringer fights and she had so many heroes and villains alike fall to those demons.

If there was something in the world that could be classified as a villain without a shadow of a doubt, it would be the Endbringers. She had seen friends(what few she had) fall before the damn monsters even with her best efforts. She wouldn't give a fuck if the world ended up being conquered by 'David' as long as those damn demons stopped appearing.

She switched to the next patient whenever something knocked her out of her trance.

"Hands up fuckers. Nobody fucking move or you will take a buncha holes with some rounds buried in." She felt her eyebrows twitch as she took in the appearance of those skinhead assholes.

They had the fucking gall to intrude upon hospital premises? Weren't they afraid of- oh right. It suddenly clicked in her head that E88 was finished and this was most likely a desperate attempt to gain a semblance of normalcy by the broken remnants of the Neo-Nazi group.

"You lady! Hands up!" The skinhead asshole who seemed to be the leader shouted to an old lady.

"F-forgive me my c-child. I am…old. It takes a lot of e-effort to raise my h-hands." The old lady stuttered out in fright.

"Don't give me that bullshit lady. You put ya hands up or ya going to be gunned down, ya hear me?" The asshole spoke sharply, narrowing his eyes.

Amy didn't know whether it was the bottled up frustration or some leftover spark of the idealist hero-worshipper that young Amy was but she knew that she couldn't be indifferent in this scenario.

She grit her teeth and spoke.

"Oi asshole. Do you have any idea what you have done? You are holding a hostage with Panacea inside it. Surrender peacefully or I assure you that I have healed enough heroes and villains alike that you won't have a single bone left in your body when they are done." She spoke snidely. She couldn't afford to hold back on the threats. This wasn't something that could be sorted by diplomacy.

To her credit, the asshole thug and his subordinates flinched when they got the full implication of what they had done.

"Shut up, bitch. I ain't afraid of those capes and shit. Ya hold your tongue or you are getting riddled with ma baby's rounds." The asshole snarked back but he couldn't hide the nervousness in his voice. His earlier bravado was clearly fading. She just had to stall for time until either the Protectorate or someone from New Wave came over. In the meantime, she just had to prevent these thugs something stupid.

'Yes, Amy. It's such an easy job. You haven't gotten anything easier than this in your entire career, have you?' She snarked to herself. Seriously, what was she thinking trying to become a bard out of nowhere when she was obviously a healer class?

"And I told you that if you don't stop this idiocy, you all wouldn't like the repurcussions. So let's cut the bullshit and discuss your surrender terms." Amy didn't know where this bravado was coming from but she wasn't really complaining. She would just see the thug's hand shaking and feel his confidence drain out of him. She was so close to victory. She could also taste it.

Of course, she had forgotten to take one thing into account- a cornered animal is dangerous and a cornered thug is stupid.

"Take this you bitch." The asshole said before suddenly firing his Uzi in her direction. Amy was prepared to meet her end when suddenly a swarm(nothing else could describe the scene) of insects came in front of her and stopped the bullets midair.

"My, my. It looks like the Empire thugs still haven't learnt their lesson. And firing at Panacea like that? Looks like I'll have to be extra rough with you." A voice creepily sounded from everywhere. She had only ever seen thugs pissing their pants when blasted with Vicky's aura.

Now, she saw raw terror on the faces of those Neo-nazi bastards. Huh. Looks like she'll have to change her opinion on a certain new cape. She might like Weaver's style.

A/N: Yay! Next chapter features the first meeting between our favourite capes. Be ready for the first meeting between the Queen of Escalation and the World's greatest healer.

Also, sorry for the delay. I was a bit busy with my Cultivation quest(link- https/forum./threads/undefeated-under-the-heavens-cultivation-quest.19808/) which I would request you all to give a chance- we have finally moved past character creation. Also, my inspiration had run dry on how to write Panacea.

Then yesterday, I got fucked over by fever and had to lie on bed all day. Let me tell me you- it feels like hell when you don't have anything to entertain (I have read nearly every damn fanfic that would interest me) yourself and you don't have the fucking capacity to get up and write. My exhaustion gave way to thoughts and ideas(lots of ideas) and here we are. I finally wrote this chapter getting past the temporary writer's block.

Well, that's all from my side. Wish you all a good day. Hope ya'll enjoy the chapter. One last thing before leaving - fuck fever.
