Ch 12

BIRTHDAY SURPRISES

DIMITRI

It was now March and me and Christian had been at St Vlad's for roughly five months. Me and Rose had gotten closer and closer everyday. We hadn't officially put a label on our relationship, but when I called home I always referred to her as my girlfriend. She had been with me several times when I called home and my family already loved her. I didn't know if it would ever be possible, but I wanted to take her home to Russia to officially meet them. Her and Victoria were already super close. Victoria is a little over a year younger than me, I'm the closest to her over all my sisters. Some days I think Rose talked to her more than me.

Last month I finally did it and I replaced Rose on the leaderboard. I thought she would be mad at me, but she wasn't, she was proud. I had worked really hard to catch up and surpass most of the other novices in our class. I was well on my way to becoming Christians Guardian. He and Lissa were secretly dating because the Queen was forcing her great nephew, Adrian, to date her. So on the outside to everyone it looked like Lissa and Adrian were dating, but behind closed doors it was Lissa and Christian. It took a lot of work to hide their relationship, but to see Christian as happy as he was, it was worth it.

Adrian was here at the academy and had integrated himself in our little friend group. To say I didn't like him at first was an understatement, he would constantly flirt with Rose in front of me. One day Rose had enough of me getting mad at him and we had our first big fight. She told me until I stopped acting like a possessive boyfriend and came to my senses she didn't want to talk to me. For two days she didn't and she canceled our training sessions. We were still mentoring the first year novices, even though her punishment was over. It killed me being around her and her not talking to me. It took a phone call from my sister to see how stupid I was being. She set me straight and I had a heart to heart with Adrian. Things after that got much better.

Turns out me and Adrian are cousins. His dad and my dad are brothers, I never knew my dads last name, we just took our moms. I had no idea I was an Ivoshkov. Technically I was also the Queen's great nephew

He was actually the one helping me with this big surprise for Rose. Her birthday was on Friday and I wanted to do something special. Her dad was coming to the academy for dinner so I decided I would surprise her with my gift early.

On our daily runs around the academy I noticed a cabin. It looked like an old Guardian post that has since been abandoned. It was a one room cabin, a little kitchenette, a bed, a fireplace, and a bathroom. I had spent the last couple of weeks cleaning, getting wood for the fire, and making the place as nice as I could. Adrian had worked his magic and was able to get all of Rose's favorite food delivered and was going to have it on the table when we arrived. I was so grateful for his help because I had no money to get her a gift that she deserved. If I could I would give her the world.

Tonight was going to be the night I told her I loved her.

ROSE

Dimitri had been acting weird the past couple of weeks, I had a feeling it had to do with my upcoming birthday.

Things between us were going really well. I never was looking for a relationship, my duty towards Lissa always came first, until I met him. He changed everything for me, and I, dare say it, I loved him.

"Would you please sit still"

"Would you please tell me why you are getting me all dressed up?"

"It's a surprise, now sit still." Lissa had been in my room for the past hour dolling me all up. For what? I did not know. No one would tell me, they just said Dimitri had something special for me. She had bought me a little black dress, telling me it was my birthday gift from her and I just had to wear it tonight. I had no idea what Dimitri had up his sleeve, but he had everyone in on it.

"You sure you can't just give me one little hint?" I tried probing her thoughts, but she had them locked tight.

"No, just enjoy tonight. You both deserve it. You have worked so hard these past few months and you have helped make sure me and Christian got alone time together. This is the least I could do for you both."

"Fine." I huffed.

"For tonight it's not about me and my needs, it's about yours. Enjoy it." She hugged me from behind and had her head on my shoulders.

"Thank you." I said while leaning my head on hers and grabbing her hands. I didn't know what was going to happen after we graduated and I became her official Guardian. I knew she was going to Leigh for college. Christian wasn't sure yet what he wanted, but they wanted to be together. Lissa told me she would do everything in her power to make sure me and Dimitri could stay together. She said I deserved as much happiness as she did.

I was standing just inside my dorm's front door waiting for Dimitri. He wasn't allowed inside the building so he was picking me up at my door. I still had absolutely no idea what he had planned.

I felt Lissa's giddiness before I saw Dimitri. He looked so handsome, as normal he was wearing his duster, but underneath he had a really nice button up shirt on, dark jeans, and boots. He was making my mouth water and something else.

We have yet to have sex with each other. Not because we didn't want to, because I did. We just never seem to be alone long enough to do it. We didn't want just a quickie somewhere, we wanted it to be something special, since we were both virgins. Would tonight be the night?

"Roza you look stunning."

"Thank you comrade, you clean up pretty well yourself."

"Are you ready to get this night started?" He asked.

"Yes, I'm ready to be let in on the secret that everyone else has known about."

"Sorry, you'll have to wait a bit longer."

"I'll leave you two be."Lissa cut in, gave me a quick hug, and hurried away.

"Are you going to give me any hints?"

"Nope."

"Ugh."

"You trust me don't you?"

"With my life." He grabbed my hand and kissed it.

"Good." He smiled.

"It's a short walk where we're going."

We walked in silence for a bit and I started to shiver.

"Are you cold?"

"A little."

"Here." He took off his duster and put it around my shoulders.

"When Lissa was dressing me tonight I think she forgot it was still a bit cold out."

"To be fair I told her we would be inside, so she might not have thought about the walk to get there." I couldn't imagine where he was taking me. We were getting close to the outskirts of the academy where the ward lines were. Through the trees I could see a little bit of smoke rising. We got a bit closer to where it was coming from. It came into full view and It was the little cabin that we ran by every day.

"Close your eyes for me." He said while covering them up with his hand. I heard the door open and he gently ushered me in.

"Keep them closed." He said as he took his hand away.

"Ok." I heard the door shut and he came up behind me.

"Ok, open them." He wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Happy Birthday Roza." I opened my eyes and was overwhelmed by what I saw in front of me. I had been inside the cabin only once when we first found it. I couldn't believe the transformation, it went from a dusty abandoned place, to a warm and cozy little cabin. There were Christmas lights hanging from the ceiling to light up the place. A fire going in the fireplace, and candles placed around to give it a romantic feel.

I looked over to the little table that was in the kitchenette and saw it was filled with my favorite foods.

"How in the world were you able to get all of this?"

"Guardian secret."

"You're not a Guardian yet, comrade."

"Close enough."

Dinner was amazing, somehow he managed to get all of my favorite foods, including chocolate donuts for dessert. We were sitting just enjoying each other's company and my mind kept drifting to other things. I felt like this was it, this was the perfect moment.

I got up out of my seat and walked over to him and grabbed his hands and pulled him up. He gave me a questioning look, but still complied. I walked him over to the bed and pushed him till he was seated.

"Roza?"

"Shh, no talking." I put my finger to his lips.

I didn't know what I was doing and wasn't sure where to start. Yes we've had some hot and heavy make out sessions, but that was it. He's seen me topless and without a bra, but I haven't seen him yet. I could tell he was big just from what I felt from rubbing against his pants when we were making out.

I unbuttoned his shirt first and threw it onto the floor like it was on fire. It wasn't the first time I've seen his bare chest and still it made my heart skip a beat.

My dress was going to be the next thing to go. I was hoping he was picking up on what I wanted to do.

I was trying to take my dress off and do a sexy striptease for him, but I couldn't get to the zipper in the back.

"Here let me help." I turned my back to him, he stood up then slowly unzipped my dress letting it fall to the floor. I wasn't wearing a bra because it was strapless, so I was standing there in just a pair of panties. Thanking Lissa for buying a bunch of "sexy" panties. The ones I was wearing were black lace and a bit see through. He gently turned me around and was holding on to my arms.

He sat down and pulled me with him so that I was straddling his lap.

"A bit eager aren't we comrade?"

"Always." He gave me a sweet kiss and stopped before we went further.

"Are you sure?" He asked. I got off his lap and stood up and slowly lowered my panties till I was standing naked in front of him.

"This answer your question?" I stood there for a second while he looked me up and down, not in a pervasive way.

"So beautiful."

"You have too many clothes on, Comrade." I helped him stand up and then went right for his pants. I unzipped and started to tug them down till they were at his ankles. He then stepped out and kicked them off. He was just in a pair of boxers with his member straining inside. I didn't hesitate and took those off and his dick sprung free. Holy shit how was it going to fit.

Lissa had told me about her first time with Aaron. He wasn't as big as Dimitri, no I didn't see him, I was just told by her it was kind of small. She told me it hurts at first, but then you get used to it. According to her Aaron wasn't very good, he got his and that was it. She has told me things were very different with Christian, that I knew. Unfortunately, she pulled me in one too many times when things got heated between them.

Being both our first time, we were a bit awkward at first. Figuring out how to get things where they needed to go. But we eventually figured it out and I can now say I was no longer a virgin. He was so gentle with me, making sure it wasn't hurting too much. It did at first, till things stretched and I could relax a bit and actually enjoy each other.

We were currently laying in the bed, still naked, just cuddling.

"I've been wanting to tell you something for a long time. Roza, I never thought the night we ran away that I would end up at St Vlad's. I'm so thankful my babushka told us to go to Portland. I have a feeling she saw this coming and I'm so grateful. I want to spend the rest of my life however long or short with you by my side. I love you Roza."

"I love you too, Dimitri."

We had since gotten dressed and were lingering in the cabin. We didn't want to leave, this was now our happy place. For a moment in time it was just me and Dimitri and no one else. No Lissa, no Christian, no Queen, nothing.

"I don't want to leave."

"Me either Roza. I promise we will come back here as much as we can."

"I love you." We were standing at the door getting one last look when I heard something.

"Did you hear that?"

"No, what did it sound like?"

"Kind of like someone in the woods."

"Well no one should be out this way." All of a sudden I had some serious cramping in my stomach. I grabbed the doorframe to keep me from falling over.

"Roza." Dimitri grabbed me and pulled me back up to standing.

"Are you ok?"

"I don't know, that came out of nowhere." All of a sudden I felt the sharp pain again.

"Do I need to take you to the clinic?"

"No it will pass." It didn't pass, it only got worse.

"What the?" Dimitri exclaimed and I turned my head to see what he saw.

"Oh god it's happening again." He whispered. My heart dropped when my brain finally caught up to my eyes. Strigoi and lots of them on campus. For some reason they hadn't spotted us yet.

After what happened at St Basils every academy had to do drills, in case they were attacked. We hadn't heard the alarm yet, so no one was aware of what was happening. We were far enough away that they hadn't been detected yet. We needed to alert the Guardians fast.

"Rose, you need to run, go, go find the first Guardian you see and tell them Buria."

"I'm not leaving you behind, Comrade."

"Yes you are. This isn't my first attack. I have my stake with me. Someone needs to stay behind and fight off as many as we can." Also after what happened at St Basils we went right into training with stakes. We all knew how to use them, we each had our own already. I didn't have mine with me because there was no room in this dress.

"I can't leave you."

"Yes you can. You have to go now, find Lissa and Christian and keep them safe." He kissed me like he never has before.

"Dimitri."

"Roza. Please go now. I promise you, when this is over I will find you. Now go." I gave him one last kiss with tears in my eyes. I took my shoes off and ran. I ran like my life depended on it, it did, all of ours did. I could hear Dimitri behind me fighting, I wanted to turn around and go to him, but couldn't.

I ran towards the lower campus, it was the closest. The first Guardian I saw was Stan. He caught me as I came to a screeching halt.

"Hathaway, what is…"

"Buria, Buria!!!"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, you dumbass. Buria." He let go of me and got on his radio and called a Buria. As soon as those words left his mouth the alarm sounded and chaos ensued.

Sorry if you all wanted to read Romitri smut. It was their first time so it wasn't much to write about. I'm new to writing smut, but do have one in my one shots of you really want to read it. Things will get better in the future. Next is the battle and it will be similar to the way it was in the books, but no cave this time. I just couldn't.
