"You want to be a what?"

"You heard me!" Karmi crossed her arms, a serious expression on her face. "I wanna learn how to be a superhero, and I could use some help."
She couldn't learn how to be one overnight, so the biotech major decided that her best plan on how to learn the ropes was to ask her friends for help.

Both Eleanor and Kirby were giving her looks of confusion. "Um, why do you wanna be one?" The animal whisperer asked.

"It's a long story." Karmi rubbed the back of her neck, trying to hide her blush. "But the point is, Big Hero 6 helped me when I was in a really bad situation, so I wanna be able to help them like they helped me."

"Awww, that's really sweet of you!" Eleanor exclaimed.

Even Kirby smirked in amusement. "Should've known you would've had a mushy and sappy reason for it."

"I am not mushy!" Karmi protested, she was a firm individual!

The jock was still smirking at her. "Suuuuure."

Luckily, Eleanor intervened before Karmi could say anything to their smug friend. "Um, so do you have any plans so far? What's your superhero name gonna be?"

Karmi went into her purse and pulled out a couple papers. "Already on that! I'm kind of basing my superhero persona on the one of me I have in my fanfiction, she's called Lab Lady."

"Cool!"

"Wait, is it a good idea to base your superhero look on a character you write?" Kirby had other opinions. "Not going to be helping with your secret identity."

They had a point but she didn't really care. "Not every hero has a secret identity, what about Iron Man? Or Ms. Marvel?"

"Those are big time superheroes though!" Kirby pointed out, then it hit them. "Wait, you're planning on using the SCPA aren't you?"
Eleanor looked at the jock in confusion. "The what?"

"Superhero Connections Protection Agency." Karmi explained the acronym with the wave of her hand. "Founded by SHIELD, they help heroes who don't have secret identities protect their families and such."

"Huh, if they exist, why don't superheroes nowadays reveal their identity?" The animal whisperer raised an eyebrow.

This time it was Kirby who answered them. "Probably because they don't want to mix their personal life with their superhero life." They then turned back to Karmi. "Are you sure about this?"

Karmi nodded, sure she had yet to talk to her parents about it, but this was too important! She wasn't going to risk them snipping this plan of hers in the bud, or worse, use it as leverage to keep her away from San Fransokyo.

She didn't think they'd do that, but then again Karmi didn't think her mother would think she couldn't be independent without getting into trouble either. Even if they both mended that bridge, the biotech major wouldn't forget those words anytime soon.

"Well that sells it for me!" Kirby smiled at her. "I'll help you out on this."

"Me too!" Eleanor added.

Karmi couldn't help but squeal and wrap both friends into a big hug. "Thank you both!" She tried not to tear up, but her eyes weren't completely dry. "You guys are the best!"

"No problem." Kirby patted her shoulder. "But also I need oxygen so could you-?"

Both of them were dropped. "Sorry." The biotech major blushed.

The jock was still grinning. "It's fine, besides I already have a plan on how to get you started in superheroics!"

"Really?" Already after telling them of her plan?

"Yep." Kirby then began walking down the street, a gleam in their eyes. "Follow me."

Karms: Sadly yes

Karms: And that's why I will never look at corgis the same way ever again

Karmi had no idea where Kirby was leading her, but after they passed a coffee shop Eleanor seemed to realize what was going on. "Are we going to your aunt's house?"

"Yep!" Kirby had a grin on their face.

"What does your aunt have to do with me learning how to be a superhero?" If Karmi recalled, the jock's aunt was a former supervillain, so she had no idea why Kirby thought bringing a future superhero was helpful at all.

Kirby noticed her confusion and waved it off. "My aunt's chill, don't worry! If anyone's got an idea on how superheroes work, it's her."

"She'd really help us?" Eleanor questioned.

"Yeah, she's cool like that." They got to their destination shortly after. Kirby's house was smaller than the house of Eleanor's grandfather, but it had been decorated with bright and colorful plants, the walls painted a deep blue.

When Kirby knocked on the door, a woman with curly black hair tied into a ponytail with similar yellow eyes to the jock's answered the door. "Hi sweetheart!"

"Hi Mom!" Kirby hugged the woman. "Is Auntie home?"

"Where else would she be?" She rolled her eyes.

As the woman noticed Eleanor and Karmi, the biotech major gave a shy wave. "Hi Ms. Green."

"You don't have to call me Ms. Green, just Felicia will do." She waved it off. "Come in, come in, do any of you want snacks?"

Eleanor perked up at that. "Yes please!"

As they entered the house, Karmi noticed that there were a lot of treasures on display. Said treasures varied from rare jewels, to pieces of artwork in all forms. "Wow, that's a lot of stuff." She murmured.

"Yeah, my mom and aunt have basically been everywhere." Kirby nervously chuckled.

The biotech major picked up on how nervous they were answering. "Let me guess… some of these items weren't bought, were they?"

"Nope."

"More like all of them." Eleanor stage-whispered. "There's some funny stories attached to them though, please don't be judgy."

Karmi sent the animal whisperer a thumbs up. "I won't, but now I'm confused." She glanced over to Kirby. "I thought you said your mom wasn't a supervillain?"

"She's not!" The jock nodded. "But uh… she might've been my aunt's sidekick in a few heists?"

They were led to the living room, where Felicia placed a plate full of scones on the table. "Hope you kids enjoy these, I'll go get my sibling."

Immediately, Eleanor started chowing down on the snacks. "Are they that good?" Karmi picked a raspberry scone and cautiously nibbled on it. The taste was sweet, but not enough to make her go into a eating frenzy like the animal whisperer.

"He's just being dramatic." Kirby rolled their eyes. Eleanor always had that reaction to their mom's scones, sure they were good but he didn't need to be so over-the-top about it.

"When is he not?" The jock perked up as a woman entered the room, she looked similar to Felicia, but her eyes were a much sharper yellow and had a snake wrapped around her shoulders like an exotic scarf.

Kirby hopped off of the couch to hug her. "Hi Aunt Cobra!"

"You just saw me this morning, now who's being dramatic?" Cobra chuckled, patting them on the head.

Karmi felt her nerves shoot up. This woman was more than her friend's aunt, she was a retired supervillain to boot! "Um, hi ma'am, Kirby's told me a lot about you."

"Not surprised by that, my nibling likes to gush about me." Cobra noticed that the biotech major was shaking a little. "Why so nervous? I don't bite."

"Well, we do have something important to ask you." Eleanor explained.

Karmi took a deep breath of courage before speaking up. "I wanna learn how to be a superhero, but I'm not sure how to start, Kirby says you can help."

Cobra raised an eyebrow at her nibling. "Oh, did they?"

"C'mon auntie, it'll be fun!" Kirby pouted. "Plus who else are we going to ask?"

"You bring up some good points."

Eleanor had stars in his eyes. "So you'll help us?!" Karmi chuckled at her friend's enthusiasm. He wasn't the one training to be a superhero yet he was just as excited as she was.

The old supervillain shrugged. "I don't have anything better to do today, besides, you're a friend of Kirby's."

"Hooray!" Eleanor cheered.

"Thank you so much ma'am!" Karmi bowed her head. She felt her heart pump with excitement, she was gonna do it, she was going to learn how to be a superhero! "You won't regret it, I promise!"

"You might though, fighting supervillains is no joke." Cobra crossed her arms. "I should know, I gave Mongoose a run for his money more than once."
The biotech major raised an eyebrow at the unknown name. "Who's Mongoose?"

"Aunt Cobra's arch rival or something." Kirby waved it off. "Don't worry about it."

Meanwhile with the Dalmatian family…

Domino made a face as his paws got soaked with mud. "Blech, I hate getting mud on my paws."

"Live a little, Dom!" One of the Dimitris, the second one, protested. "Don't be such a cat!" It had just stopped raining in Camden, and the Dalmatian family were enjoying the mud in their backyard now that they didn't have to fear getting rained on.

"I'm not a cat." He hissed, sure he had no resentment towards the feline species but the troublemaker didn't have to call him one! "I just hate getting a bath afterwards."

Dimitri 2 blinked in understanding. "That's fair I guess."

"Woo hoo!" Both dogs ducked out of the way as a larger spotted blur bounced past them, her large ears flopping in the wind.

If Domino had fists, he would be shaking them at the blur. "Watch where you're going, Dolly!"

"Sorry!" She called out before going back to bouncing around the backyard.

Domino grumbled, he admired the older pup's spunk and athletics, but she could be really reckless when "in the zone" so to speak. "It's one of those days where Dolly has too much energy in her so there's nothing to do but bounce around." Dawkins commented, watching his older sister burn out said energy by bouncing around the trampoline. "She even caused a ruckus in the house!"

"Is that why the big family painting had a tear in it when I walked in?" Domino raised an eyebrow.

"Dude good luck getting her to admit it, I heard from Dubaku who heard Triple D gossing it to the Debbie Three that Dolly pinned the blame on Dylan when Mum asked about it." Dimitri 2 explained. "Dolly and responsibility are words that do not mix."

Dawkins snickered. "Oh come on Dimitri 2, Dolly can be responsible sometimes, otherwise Mum and Doug wouldn't put her in charge when they're not around."

"Only because she and Dylan are the oldest!" The troublemaking pup crossed his arms.

"Woah what is that?!" Their attention turned to the other pups in the yard, who were staring up at the sky. Domino followed their eyes to see what got their attention and saw that a crane was lifting a metal box in the sky.

"Ooh, looks like construction is going on for one of the neighbor's today." Dawkins noted.

Dylan poked his head from his treehouse to see what the ruckus was about. "Oh for the love of dog…" He grumbled, clearly in a cranky mood. "Okay what is that?"

"It's the ultimate climbing frame!" Dolly exclaimed, tail wagging as she was about to pounce.

"Dolly I would not do that!" Dylan warned her.

"You will have a bad time!" Dante exclaimed, blue eyes wide with fear. "Do not jump, I repeat!"

But Dolly ignored her brothers and was already climbing up fences and ladders to get to her goal.

"Go Dolly!" The younger pups cheered.

"Is that safe?" Domino turned to Dawkins.

The scientist frowned. "Well Dante said it was bad news, and he's got rather good intuition so…" But as he spoke, Dolly had already hopped onto the crate, her paws in the air as she completed her goal.

She had a big grin on her face. "I did it! Knew I could!"

Clank-Clank-Clank

However, the crane started to move up, bringing the metal crate, Dolly on it, upwards into the sky. The pups gasped in horror, Dante started rambling about doom and misfortune, Dylan tried to get his older sister's attention.

As for Domino, he wished Diggs was here but the old shepherd was spending time with the twins at the hotel's arcade.

As Dolly opened her eyes to finally notice that the crane had moved, there was only one thing she had to say.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-!"

Diggs twitched an ear. "Huh, I could've sworn I heard someone screaming."

"Hey Diggs, I got to the bonus level of this game!" Haley pointed to this obstacle arcade game she had managed to complete.

Ryan was trying to get her attention. "Focus Haley before-" Her character on-screen got destroyed by a bomb.

"Game over!" The game replied.

Haley pouted at the screen. "Aw man…"

Her brother sighed as he swiped the card against the arcade machine. "We can try again."

I am starting to regret this. Karmi nervously gulped at Kirby's backyard.

"Welcome to your first lesson in superhero training, Lab Lady." Cobra narrated. "Your first test is to complete this obstacle course without slipping up."

"That doesn't sound too bad!" Eleanor tried to cheer her up.

Kirby shook their head, knowing there was a catch. "Any obstacle course my aunt comes with is going to be a real pain to complete."

The obstacle in question had some jumps to complete first, followed by moving by some mats that had spinning punching bags that one had to dodge, lastly there was a balance beam with a pool of mud on the bottom.

"How did your aunt come up with this in less than half an hour?" Karmi gulped, dreading the obstacle course.

"That's a trade secret!" Felicia chuckled, she was sitting by the patio, sipping lemonade on a chair. "Have fun with the course!"

Easier said than done… Karmi grumbled. She took a deep breath, steeled her nerves, and started the jumps.

"Good luck Karmi!" Kirby called out to her.

As she prepared for the final jump, something struck her leg and she ended up falling onto the wet grass. "Ow!"

"Did I forget to mention the jumps had projectiles?" Cobra shook her head. There was a machine that spewed out tiny bean bags. "If you take too long, it'll fire."

The biotech major stood up, glaring at the retired supervillain. "Thanks." She tried again, this time not skipping a beat for each jump, and managed to complete the course with no problem. But then got smacked in the face by a spinning punching bag.

"Oooh, that's gonna leave a mark." Eleanor winced. He walked up to Karmi as she was trying the course a third time. "Hey, why don't we do this together?"

Karmi's eyes widened. Eleanor's offer was kind, but what superhero would she be if she relied on her friends all the time? "Oh that's-"

"Sounds like fun!" Kirby ran up to them. "Let's do it!"

She bit her lip, not having the strength to protest her friend's joining in. How could I say no to those faces?

"Alright let's do this!" Eleanor hopped onto the jump course only to get struck by a bean bag two seconds later and falling headfirst into the ground. "Owww…"

Kirby brought their hand to their head, sighing from the animal whisperer's antics.

Crash!

"One's decorative ivy!"

Smash!

"My new meditation chamber!"

Dolly's panicking had made the crate start swinging around, and as she kept running back and forth to not fall off of the swinging block, there were some roadblocks…

Crush!

"Dolly stop moving around!" Dylan shouted to his sister. The more she kept running around, the more the crate kept swinging and smashing into their neighbor's buildings. "Some of us could get turned into pancakes!"

The two pups next to him, Dizzy and Dee Dee, clung to him in fear. "I don't wanna be a pancake!" Dizzy cried out.

"Me neither!" Dee Dee was clinging to Dylan like a scared baby koala.

Domino gulped nervously as the crate swung around. "Can't we call anyone for help?"

"What's Pearl going to do for a swinging crate?!" Dimitri 2 protested.

"Bring a ladder?" One of the other pups with a yellow collar suggested.

Dawkins frowned at his sister's frantic flailing. "It's scientifically impossible for Dolly to sit still, so we have to get her off quickly or keep her calm until help arrives."

"But who do we call for help?!" Several pups questioned.

"I don't know! Maybe Dad?!" He gestured with his paws.

As one of the pups started to howl for help, Dylan tried to keep his sister calm. "Okay, okay, uh until Dad gets here, how about we review next week's chores?"

"Uhg! Are you trying to make me fall asleep?!" Dolly glared daggers at him.

Dylan rolled his eyes. "What's so bad about keeping track of a schedule?"

"Everything Dylan, everything!"

One of the pups screamed as the crate swung overhead. "Dawkins, get everyone inside!" Dylan called to his littermate.

Dawkins nodded, and began ushering everyone inside. "Come on, Dolly will be fine." Dimitri 2 was nudging Domino to follow the pups.

"I hope so." The pup muttered. He knew that the Dalmatian family got into trouble at times, but this felt like something more than they could chew.

Eleanor was doing his best to get past the swinging punching bags, but as he tried running through as fast as he could, one at the near end of the course hit him in the face and sent him flying into the wet ground.

"Oooh you did better than I did!" Kirby winced. "Maybe we gotta find a balance of when to run fast and when to run slow."

The animal whisperer rubbed his head. "What do you mean by that?"

"They mean that some of the punching bags are rotating faster than others." Karmi explained.

Eleanor nodded in understanding. "Cool, let's try it again?"

This time, all three of them were able to complete the second course in a couple more tries. "Alright, last one left!" Kirby pumped their fist into the air.

"Yeah…" Karmi's cheer was less enthusiastic.

The jock picked up on that, their face turning concerned. "Are you alright? I'm sure this one will take less tries than the second one." That one had taken them at least half an hour to complete.

Karmi hesitated. "It's not that, it's something else."

"What is it?" Eleanor asked her.

She pursed her lips. I can't tell them that I didn't want them to tag along! It would make them upset after being so happy to make it so far through the obstacle course. "It's nothing!" She jumped up on the balance beam and attempted to run across it just like the animal whisperer did with the punching bags.

"Wait, be careful!" But in Karmi's haste, she failed to notice that the balance beam had been greased, and Kirby's warning came too late.

"Ah!" Karmi slipped, banged her knee into the wood, and fell head-first into the mud.

Both adults on the sidelines winced. "Oooh, that's going to leave a mark." Felicia winced.

"Makes me wish I brought a camera." Cobra couldn't help but find that epic fail of the biotech major's humorous, and got a whack on the shoulder by her sister. "Hey!"

Felicia glared at her. "Not the time for that!"

"Karmi!" Both Eleanor and Kirby hopped off of the course to dig up their friend.

"Are you okay? Did anything break?!" Eleanor was already grabbing bandages from his pockets. "I have an ice pack, though slightly melted, but it's still usable!"

Karmi sat with her knees stretched out, sniffling as she wiped mud off of her face. "It's fine, I only banged it up." She winced when Kirby put their hand on the knee that hit the wood.

"Yeah, looks like it'll just bruise for a few days." The jock confirmed. "I've seen it before in dodgeball class."

"Why did you run onto the course like that? You usually take your time on these things." Eleanor questioned.

The biotech major glanced away, not able to face her friend's worried green eyes. "It's-"

"If you're going to say 'it's nothing' I will punch you, something is bothering you, what is it?" Kirby demanded.

Guess I can't hide it anymore. "I'm just… I wanted to do this course on my own, to prove that I could be a superhero. If I can't even do this by myself, how am I supposed to help people like Big Hero 6 helped me?" Karmi wrapped her arms around her chest, burying her face so she didn't have to see her friend's hurt expressions.

Maybe my mom was right, I can't be independent because I'll end up getting hurt or into trouble. A voice in her head couldn't help but rub salt into the wound, and she was too exhausted to argue something back at it.

"Hey." She winced as Kirby placed a hand on her shoulder. "There's nothing wrong with asking for help, do you think Big Hero 6 saves people all by themselves?"

Karmi looked up at the jock. "No, they're called Big Hero 6, not Big Hero 1."

"Exactly, if they rely on each other to help people, why's it bad if you do the same?"

"Kirby's right." Eleanor chimed in. "We're your friends, and we're gonna help you be a superhero!"

The biotech major sniffled. "Thanks guys, I'm sorry I didn't tell you this earlier."

"It's cool, just remember to say what's on your mind next time." Kirby waved it off.

Awhooo!

Both teens looked at the animal whisperer of the group. "What's that about?" Karmi noticed Eleanor's eyes got wider with each howl

"It's an SOS… Dolly's stuck on a crate and can't get down!" Eleanor translated.

"What?!" Both of them stood up.

Karmi glanced at the direction of the Dalmatian household. "We have to help her!"

"But what about the obstacle course?" Kirby pointed to the course.

"This is more important, Kirby!" Eleanor argued.

The jock nodded. "Right, let's go save some Dalmatians!"

"Actually just one Dalmatian-" Karmi argued.

"Don't get technical on me!"

As the trio ran to go save Dolly, Felicia waved to the kids. "Good luck on your rescue!" Once they left, she turned to her sibling. "Do you think Kirby's going to be a superhero too?"

"I hope not, telling all my villainous colleagues to go on easy on my nibling would be a nightmare." Cobra shuddered at the thought.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

"Dolly hold on, I'm coming to help you!"

As the chaos continued outside, Domino turned to Dimitri 2. "Yeah, Dolly will be fine, you said."

"I thought Dylan would've handled it by now!" Dimitri 2 argued.

They were approached by Dante. "Blame Clarissa, she threw a steak at Dolly and sent her swinging again!"

Domino bared his fangs in anger. "Uhg that corgi! I'm gonna get her for that!"

"You sound like a real Dimitri bro, I'm so proud of you dude." Dimitri 2 smirked, he went for a fist bump but Domino shook his head.

"Dude, maybe later."

Boom!

Thunder cracked outside as Dylan bounced off of the trampoline and landed onto the crate, keeping his sister balanced and the crate stopped swinging around.

"Oh great, now Dylan's stuck too!" Dante groaned. "Can this get any worse?!"

The rain outside started to pour harder. "Dante now is not the time to summon doomsday." Dimitri 2 was tugging one of his ears with his paws. "Can't you use your psychic powers to save them?"

"First of all, my powers are of foresight, not levitation." Dante corrected him. "And second of all, help is on the way already."

"Huh?" Both dogs titled their heads in confusion.

Dante pointed to the backyard, his paws counting down to 3. Just as it was about to hit the final number, Domino saw his human and her friends leap over the fence. "Dolly, hang on buddy!" Karmi called to her.

"Not much I can do!" Dolly called back.

The biotech major turned to Dawkins. "Can you bring out the kibble pump?"

"Huh?" Dawkins questioned.

"It's for saving Dolly!"

That got the scientist out of his stupor. "Oh, right!" He went into the house to grab the pump.

Dimitri 2 and Dante turned to Domino. "What's your human planning?" The troublemaker questioned.

"I have no idea." Domino shrugged.

Once Dawkins came back with the pump, Karmi turned to her friends. "You guys ready?"

"Ready!" Both teens gave a thumbs up. The biotech major held the pump and switched it on, which sent her flying up to where Dylan and Dolly were on the crate. Domino gasped as the crate shook when his human stood on it, but then she wrapped the pump around the crane's hook.

"Trampoline in place!" Kirby and Eleanor had moved the backyard trampoline to where the pump was resting on the ground.

Karmi nodded to the two, then picked up Dolly and Dylan. "Hold on tight you guys." She placed them on her shoulders, and then slid down to the ground, landing on the trampoline.

"Thank dog we're alive!" Dylan cheered once they got onto the ground.

"Woo-hoo!" Dolly jumped around, relieved she didn't splat onto the ground like a pancake, then she turned to her brother. "Hey um, Dylan? Sorry for having you take the blame for Dad's portrait."

Dylan's eyes widened at that. "I knew it was-" He cleared his throat. "It's okay, I'm glad you're safe."

"I was doing a little self-reflecting up there, I'll try to take more responsibility for my mistakes." Dolly bowed her head. "And not jump on strange crates."

"I hope not!" They turned to Eleanor. "Sorry, just felt like that was more important."

"Speaking of crates." Karmi pointed up to the tied up kibble pump, and noticed the crane was moving again. "I've got a word with who's handling this machine."

It turns out the worker who was placing the crate for building refurbishments for a neighbor had left the crate standing there to go on a lunch break. Karmi had seen red at that, but it had been Kirby who read the guy a riot act. "You didn't even notice the pup that was on top of there?! How'd an idiot like you get this job!"

The jock had made the guy apologize to Dolly for leaving her stranded like that. "Remind me to not get on Kirby's bad side." Karmi nudged Eleanor while the worker was still apologizing to the skater.

"You should've seen what they did to the guy that hit me with their bike." Eleanor chuckled.

Her eyes widened at that. "Why the heck did someone hit you with a bike?"

"Because I was walking across the street 'too slow' for them." He frowned. "After they scared them good, Kirby patched me up and we got ice cream afterwards, it made it better."

Kirby came over, dusting their hands off. "Man I guess I can cross that off of my bucket list."

"I'm impressed, I wish I could scare people like that." Karmi stated.

A blush came over their face. "Well I'll be sure to tell my aunt to teach you some of her ways."

After the worker left, Dylan approached the trio. "Thanks for saving Dolly guys."

"It was no problem, we were happy to help." Eleanor waved to him. "You should give Karmi most of the credit, she came up with the plan to use the kibble pump."

The biotech major chuckled. "Yeah, I hope I didn't break it."

"Nothing I can't fix!" Dawkins chimed in. "But enough about that, if there's anything we can do to repay you for helping save our sister, let us know."

Eleanor translated what he said which caused Karmi to blush. "Aww, you don't have to do that…"

"It's the least we can offer after helping with this, and the time I went on strike." He insisted.

Well, there was one thing she wanted. "Do you guys know how to make a costume?"

"Did someone say costume?"

Eleanor squealed as a trio of pups practically popped into thin air and startled the other dogs. "Oh my gosh it's Triple D! I'm such a huge fan!"

"How did they even do that?" Kirby pointed to where they appeared.

Karmi shrugged. "I'll take that as a yes to the costume?"

"Um, is water wet? We're great at making costumes!" Destiny stated.

Dallas nodded. "Yeah, tell us what you want and we'll make it with style!"

"Fashion is like our thing." Deja Vu added.

The animal whisperer was still having a fan moment. "Oh my gosh I'm so jealous Triple D is gonna make your superhero costume!"

"If that's okay with them." Karmi then turned to Kirby. "Uh, your aunt will be fine with me doing the course another day, right?" She had a feeling it would take awhile for the costume to be made.

Kirby waved it off. "She sent me a text, you can continue it another day."

"That's a relief!" Karmi grinned. "Now let's make a costume!"

Teen Dorks Squad group chat:

Karms: Hey Megan is everything alright now?

Meg: yeah my dad got rescued

Karms: Thank goodness!

Ari: Hardlight got away tho

Hiro: :C

Karms: Oof

June: If I ever see that guy I am zapping him for kidnapping Megan's dad

Meg: Aw June n.n

June: n.n

Hiro: must you guys be so sappy

Ari: Leave them alone Hiro or I will steal ur gummy bears

Hiro: You steal them anyways!

Ari: Yeah but I'll feed them to Mochi

Baymax: That would be a bad idea. Gummy bears have too many vitamins and sugar for cats to handle.

June: Huh the more you know

Ari: What if we fed Mochi gummy cats

Hiro: Ari that's not how it works

Ari: aw man : (

"Ta-daah!" Triple D did jazz hands as they showed off their masterpiece.

Destiny spoke first. "What do you think of the costume?"

"We made it out of a lightweight material that still can take hits, the best of both worlds!" Dallas exclaimed.

"It's sturdy and not heavy, do you like it?" Deja Vu asked her.

Karmi spun around to observe her costume, it was just like the outfit she had drawn for Lab Lady in her story, goggles and all. "I love it!"

"You look great, Karmi!" Kirby gave her a thumbs up.

"Yeah you look so pretty!" Eleanor was gushing over her outfit.

The biotech major blushed at the praise. "You guys are too much, honest!"

"So you're really going to be a superhero?" Domino asked her. "Like in your stories?"

"Yeah Dom." Karmi replied to the pup after Eleanor translated. "I wanna help people like how Big Hero 6 helped me."

Domino hummed at that. "I don't really get it, but I'm wishing you the best of luck!"

"Aww, thanks buddy." She patted him on the head.

"So wait, if Domino's human is a superhero now, does that make him her sidekick?" Dolly turned to Dylan, an eyebrow raised.

Her brother just shook his head. "Dolly, that's not how it works."

"Aww but it would be so cool!"

The other dogs chuckled at the two's dramatics. "Hey Karmi, I think you have competition on who your sidekick will be." Eleanor teased.

"Really?" She blinked at the dalmatians. "Well, that's kind of you guys, but I already got two sidekicks."

"Wait what?" Kirby blinked, stunned by that.

Eleanor had gasped. "Wait, who are your sidekicks?" Then blinked as Karmi pointed to him and Kirby. "Ohhh, you think of us as your sidekicks?"

"Well, I couldn't have saved the day without you two." She pointed out.

"That's really sweet of you Karmi, but I think I'm just happy being plain ol' Kirby for now." The jock chuckled.

"Yeah, me too." Eleanor added. "But we'll still help you for as long as you're in Camden!"

Karmi smiled, then hugged her two friends. "You guys are the best."

She would have a long way to go before becoming a true superhero, but for now, Karmi felt like she was off to a great start.

AN: Oh boy this. this was a fun one! Anyways this chapter was based off of a "A Balancing Act" and yeah I know it took place BEFORE Dawkins Strikes Back (which was the plot of last chapter) but this is an alternate universe so its an alternate timeline!

Kirby chewing out the construction worker was so cathartic to write, like omg DUDE YOU LEFT A GIANT CRATE IN THE AIR, IM PRETTY SURE THAT'S A WORK HAZARD. Why am I getting so stressed it is a kids show fjdfjdj but oml, the humans in the 101 ds show can be so dumb yall, how have the dogs not taken over society in that universe

Also SURPRISE COBRA APPEARANCE! (fun fact Cobra uses both she and they pronouns in this fic series), she was one of my fav season 3 villains and I could NOT wait until HOF versions of season 3 (IF I ever cover season 3) to get to writing her so this fic it is! Cobra is Kirby's cool retired (for now) supervillain aunt

Thank you so much for reading, be sure to check out Fallen From Power next week, which takes place the same time as this fic! (This chapter in fact takes place the same time as the Hardlight episode)
