Note: Welcome back to Karry Universe! Yes, right before Christmas here we are back. This is our Weapons' Master plot we teased during the last segment. It will be 10 chapters in total with no split, so 10 whole weeks of Karry – that's brilliant! Anyway, enough with the talking, time for the reading…
Starflix's New Deal
-Late September 2022-
Barry was sitting in the kitchen of the Penthouse, he was on the phone, talking.
"Yes… yeah… that sounds good," Barry was saying. "I'll talk to my partner and see what we can do," with that, Barry hung up as Amelia took a seat next to her brother, a cup of coffee and a doughnut in her hand. Alura, Nora, and Eric had finished their breakfast and were going to get their supplies for their school.
"Sounded important," Amelia said.
"Just STAR Toys and Games. The shop we opened is making great money and our store manager wants to know if we can expand it a bit to add more of our line," Barry explained. "So, how is your new position going. Lena done training you?"
"Yes, and I am taking the reins completely for a while as Lena goes to other locations of L-Corp to supervise and help expand our high-speed train system," Amelia said as Kara came in from the home office with a large bunch of papers in her hand, Kent asleep in a baby wrap around her back.
"Barry, consider this an early Christmas and Birthday present," Kara said dropping the papers in front of Barry. Barry could feel his wife's satisfaction through their bond and wondered what she had been up to.
Barry gave his wife and baby a kiss before taking the papers as Amelia leaned over, curious.
"A contract with the BBC?" Barry asked, shocked. "Exclusive streaming rights for Doctor Who outside of the UK?!" Barry eyes went wide, and his mouth dropped open.
"BBC has been looking for a partner. Disney was interested but STAR Studios won. Starting next year, Doctor Who will stream exclusively on Starflix," Kara said.
"What's this about a spin off?" Barry asked, seeing the words in the contract.
"We also have the rights to make our own spin off from Doctor Who. They included a list of characters…" Kara was cut off by Barry finding the list quickly and looking it over.
"Romana's on the list," Barry said. "Where's Winn?"
"Dropping Star and our Romana off at school and then heading to the DEO," Amelia said, amused by the name.
"Then I'll need to get Ray in on this," Barry said, taking the contract into his hand, kissing Kara quickly, and running out.
"What did you do Kara?" Amelia asked after a moment, making Kara smile.
"He deserved it. Buying Netflix was a good idea. We were looking at a while before STAR Studios made us money, but now we can time that down. Profits will start coming in," Kara explained. "Although he didn't get to the part about videogames in that contract..." Amelia gave a laugh.
"I got to say I was impressed STAR Studios took The Winchesters from The CW," Amelia said. "I thought they would pick up the spin-off of Supernatural."
"Well, they didn't, and we figured Supernatural fans are loyal. Good for Starflix," Kara said. "We also managed to get Chilling Adventures of Sabrina renewed for two more seasons and several other cancelled Netflix shows. But we are having problems deciding what cancelled Netflix shows are worth bringing back and what not. Some were easy to get back, but some were easy to say they were cancelled for good reason, but there are not so easy ones. We have a list and know how many more we can save without delaying new projects we want to do. It's just a judgement call from us."
"Well, ones you don't save you could offer to sell them to other streamers or networks," Amelia said.
"Good idea," Kara nodded. "Maybe you could look over the list and give your opinion?"
"I would love to, after work," Amelia said, finishing her own breakfast and getting up as Alura and Nora came down the stairs and Eric up.
"Where's daddy?" Alura asked.
"Uncle Bawy taking us to school?" Eric asked, looking at his mother and Amelia and Kara looked at each other. Barry was meant to take the little ones to their school today, but in his Doctor Who excitement he must have forgotten.
"You brought Jason down to his transport. I'll take them," Kara said to Amelia; Kara was just going to take Kent with her today to STAR Labs but it would be easy enough for her to get the three to school and Kent to the labs.
"Thanks, oh by the way, the Gossip Club is starting to talk about Jason," Amelia said, and Kara gave a nod – it had been about a month since they brought Jason to live with them and things hadn't been smooth. The boy was mildly behaving but was grumpy and Kara worried there was only a matter of time before he had a tantrum. "The school you have him going to is one step below juvie."
"We'll deal with them when we have to," Kara said, giving a nod as Amelia went to the elevator and Kara smiled at the three little ones in their school uniforms. Alura and Nora looked so cute in the skirts and Eric handsome in his uniform as well. "I'm taking you today," Kara told the three, who didn't seem to mind the change up as Kara readjusted her sleeping baby behind her.
Kara went to call for her animals but stopped; Hex had surprised them at the end of August with a new litter of kittens and Krypto had been good with the kittens since. She could leave them to the litter.

"Okay, I talked to Charlie," Barry said, coming back into the room he had left Ray in with the contract for Doctor Who. "She said she can put the Lady Romana spin off on schedule to be filmed. 13, one-hour long episodes. And I also contracted the BBC representative to confirm we will be doing Lady Romana."
"Should we really call the show Lady Romana? What if we want to have a male regeneration?" Ray asked.
"For the character who shares a name with my daughter?" Barry asked.
"You know I have been meaning to ask about that," Ray said.
"I didn't name her, but it is an awesome name," Barry countered, sitting down.
"You know, instead of hour episodes what about half hour episodes? Then we can do double the amount and base it on Classic Who. Half hour episodes and then we can have all of them being two- to four-parters," Ray said, deciding to change the topic.
"Good idea," Barry said with a smile. "We need writers and a showrunner. Too bad Russell T Davies is going back to the main show."
"It needs him after the awfulness of Chibnall. Rip did once say after the first female Doctor, the show took a downturn. We will have to correct that," Ray said.
"Of course, what about Steven Moffat? Do you think he would be interested?" Barry said, wondering the exact wording Rip had used, but decided to ignore that for now. He would make sure Doctor Who survived right to the 31st century if needed.
"Maybe, and Big Finish writers are really good so maybe we can get some of them, but there is one thing we need," Ray said, and Barry raised an eyebrow. "Lalla Ward – at least for a regeneration."
"On it," Barry said, taking out his cellphone and starting to make calls. It was a while of him being transferred around before he left a message with Lalla's current agent. "Well, we will have to see what that brings," he said after he hung up.
"Barry, did you read this whole contract?" Ray asked, holding it in his hands and looking through it.
"Skimmed it," Barry said. Contracts weren't his thing. He just went along with whatever Kara did.
"Videogames," Ray said, Barry pausing at this. "STAR Gaming has exclusive rights to make Doctor Who videogames – and can make toys and board games." Barry took the contract from Ray to read over the part with speed.
"Oh, we will have some fun," Barry grinned.
Before either could start planning the videogames, or more on the Romana spin-off the lights in the room turned red.
"What…?" Ray started, but didn't finish as Barry grabbed hold of him and moved him at speed, the two ending up on the floor as a projectile came in through the window, smashing it and exploding on the wall behind them, creating a hole. If Barry and Ray had been standing there, they would be dead. "My office has a weapon warning system…?" Ray seemed stunned as he said it, but Barry was already in his Flash outfit, ready.
"You're welcome," Barry said. "Atom suit?" Barry was already running out to find who shot at them as Ray grabbed his Atom suit and got it on before employees of STAR Gotham could come to see what had happened; just in time as someone came into the room in a panic.
"Where's Mr. Palmer?" One asked, seeing Atom there.
"We got him and Mr. Allen to safety," Ray said, giving the man a nod, "now get out of here to safety yourself," he added, before flying through the broken window.
Barry was running around a man dressed in black, who seemed to have some unusual weapons. Barry was dodging the weaponry as Ray went to attack as well, shocked as the weapons seemed to hit hard into his suit. There were warnings of malfunctions which didn't make sense. His Atom suit was designed to take hits from the best weaponry Earth and aliens had to offer.
Red Tornado flew up at this, and as he was approaching the attacker as another projectile like the one Barry had helped them dodged went into him. The robot was blown apart, the pieces falling to the floor.
"This guy has some serious weapons," Barry said. "How's your suit?"
"Injured but still working," Ray responded upset as he looked down at the remains of Red Tornado. "Poor guy…"
"Then let's get this over fast," Barry said, running towards the man, jumping up a building, and hitting him hard, sending him onto a roof. The man seemed to have some type of hovering tech in his boots, which is how he was in the air, but he fell onto the roof top at the velocity of the punch.
Ray came up, holding his own weapon at the man. "This is over!" Barry said, standing on the roof as a portal opened and Derek in his Sideways outfit appeared.
The man gave a laugh and ran at Derek. Before Ray could shoot, Barry went towards him the man, who seemed to disappear into the young hero. Derek was still in his normal outfit, the only thing of the villain that remained was the weapons that Derek was now holding.
"You won't hurt me in his body," Derek voice said back, but seemed to be possessed by the strange villain. "Think I will borrow his powers for a while – a lot of you Justice Leaguers for me to take care of, after all. You will know and fear the name Weapons' Master."
"I can't let you take him!" Barry said, lightning appearing in his eyes.
"Come on, Sideways, fight him. You are a hero. Don't let him take you over!" Ray called, trying to reach his sidekick as a portal opened.
Barry ran at Derek and hit him hard in the stomach – it did what needed to be done. The man who called himself the Weapons; Master flew out of Derek, his weapons coming with him, and right through the portal before it closed. Derek bent down on the roof, in pain.
"Sorry," Barry said to the boy.
"It's okay, you needed to do that," Derek said, severely winded and in pain.
"Let's get him to Watchtower and get him checked out," Barry said.
"And I need to go over my suit and grab the pieces of Red Tornado and see if he's fixable," Ray said still getting malfunction warnings on his visor, still.

Amelia was in her new office – it was the second biggest after Lena's own office. It had been unused since Lena had made the building, with Lena claiming she had been looking for the right person. Amelia had to smile that she was considered that 'right person'. She had started personalizing it with photos and personal affect, already.
She was looking at her computer at a report when there was a knock on the door, a man was standing there she recognized.
"Dr. Knight," Amelia said giving the man a smile; Theodore Knight, or preferred to be called Ted, was the new hire Amelia had been showing around the day she got promoted. He was a brilliant astronomer and inventor, and with STAR Co. opening the ability for everyone to go to space and even live off-world, other companies, including L-Corp had expanded. Ted was part of that for L-Corp. He was making inventions that would move off the world to the bases L-Corp bought from STAR Co to conduct their own research.
"Ms. Allen," Ted said with a smile. "I just wanted to see you before I leave tomorrow."
"Oh, yes, you're officially going to your permanent placing in Opal City, right?" Amelia asked. Ted had only been in National for some training and to get to know scientist stationed here he would be working with, but his main posting would be in the L-Corp lab in Opal. He would be making the travel back to National on occasions, though.
"Yes, my wife and kids are already settled," Ted said. "I'll be leaving in the morning. I'll be back next month for a few days for a test."
"Well, see you then," Amelia said getting up and shaking his hand letting him go. "Nice guy. Now I…." Amelia stopped as her cellphone rang. "Barry?"
"Can you get to Watchtower? We need your opinion a new villain," Barry said, and Amelia raised an eyebrow.
"I'll get there in a few," Amelia said hanging up the phone.
-Karry Universe-
A few minutes later, Amelia came into the meeting room in Watchtower.
"Gideon, where is everyone?" Amelia asked.
"Flash and Atom are in the laboratory. Heatwave is in his room, Mother Na…" Gideon started listing off people in Watchtower.
"That's enough, thank you," Amelia said and went towards the laboratory – a room next to the Speed Lab. It was large and housed things they only kept here for the Justice League. Dr. Fate's helmet was here along with the replacement Cosmic Staff the Life Force had given Barry. "Is… is that Red Tornado?" She paused at the pieces set up on a lab table.
"Unfortunately, he is dead," Barry said. "The brain was fried. No ability to revive him. I really should have kept a backup…"
"And the body is beyond repair," Ray sighed. "I'd get on making a new one, but I need to concentrate on rebuilding my suit. Maybe after…"
"What did this?" Amelia asked.
"That's what we need your opinion on. Kara and I have already determined they are not from STAR Co, so we need you as second in command of L-Corp," Barry said, turning Amelia's attention to a screen. "Taken from Ray's visor. The video's not the best since the suit was damaged, but is there any chance the weapons are from L-Corp?"
Amelia watched the video, keeping her eyes on the weapons. "Yeah, I'm sorry, but they are unfamiliar – way more advanced than anything we have," Amelia said.
"That's what concerns me. L-Corp makes some of the most advanced weapons on Earth so that leaves three possibilities," Barry sighed. "The first is he is smarter than everyone in L-Corp and STAR Co…"
"Unlikely, but not impossible," Ray said seeming to take a little offense to that.
"I agree," Amelia said with a nod; between L-Corp and STAR Co they had the best and brightest, with STAR Co. and maybe L-Corp also having some aliens helping.
"Second possibility: he is an alien with better weapons than what we have," Barry said.
"More likely, but we have seen a lot of alien technology – some more advanced than us, but nothing like this," Ray said. "Damaging my suit with a single blow..."
"What's the third?" Amelia asked.
"Time travel," Barry said.
"Oh, gees, only this Doctor Who thing this morning brought that possibility to your head," Amelia groaned.
"Yes, but it's still a possibility," Barry said. "You and I have both been to the future, after all."
"True… Look, I'm going back to work," Amelia said after a moment, shaking her head at Barry. "Next time…" Amelia walked back, and as she did, the Cosmic Staff glowed for a moment. Amelia turning her head at is as Ray and Barry looked shocked.
"That has not done that before," Barry said.
"I have the Death Totem, powered by the Dimensional Superstructure. Besides, I can't wield something powered by the Life Force," Amelia pointed out, knowing something about his Staff and its history.
"Weren't you a Bearer of Fate or something on SuperEarth?" Barry asked.
"That was different," Amelia mumbled, going to put her hand on the Staff but it didn't react. "No. It's not connecting to me… more like it reacted to something on me," Amelia raised an eyebrow, not understanding what the Staff reacted to at all. "Okay… well, I'm going to go."
"That was a clue," Barry mumbled when Amelia was gone. "The person who will wield this Staff is close."
"And we might need whoever it is," Ray added. "We're down Red Tornado and Atom, for now. It will take me a while to fix this… and Derek might be down a few days due to that punch you gave him. Which what about that power…? It was like Derek was possessed."
"Possession… good name for it," Barry said as his cellphone rang. "Barry Allen." Barry answered the call.
"Hello, Mr. Allen, it's Lalla Ward," Barry heard a very British voice say and turned his cellphone to speaker phone.
"Ms. Ward," Barry said, and Ray head picked up.
"My agent told me you're making a Lady Romana TV Show? We contacted the BBC to confirm, and they have established that they have given you the rights to do so," Lalla Ward said.
"Yes, and we would love to have you back, even for just a regeneration," Barry said.
"I will do a regeneration," Lalla Ward said and Ray and Barry both had smiles on their faces. "After season 1."
"What?" Barry asked.
"I would like to star for the first season," Lalla Ward said. "We can talk my salary later."
"We would love that, but you understand the show will film on Calisto at STAR Studio?" Barry said back.
"Yes, I find that an interesting adventure. You better call Louise Jameson. Romana and Leela are quite a pair on Gallifrey's Big Finish Adventures, and I would like to keep my audio adventures canon," Lalla said.
"I'll see about that," Barry said. "Well STAR Studios will send your agent a contract. Have a wonderful day, Ms. Ward."
"You too, Mr. Allen," Lalla said, and she hung up the phone.
Barry and Ray looked at each other for a moment, both seeming stunned and then they high fived each other, laughing at the absurdity of it.
"You got to make the call to get Leela," Ray said.
"Yes, and we also need a Doctor actor for the first episode, maybe Paul McGann," Barry said going to contact Charlie to tell her to send the contract and to try to get the other people they needed into negotiation with.

Karen put her suitcase down and looked around the apartment; she had transferred to the new college at the beginning of the semester but had just found a new apartment that allowed dogs for herself near it. KJ was down on a rug, already sleeping.
"I got this," it was Ha-Pri coming in with a large box in his hands. "And your new neighbors think your stepdad is very strong..."
"Well, they wouldn't be wrong," Astra said, coming in with a box of her own and kissing Ha's cheek as she put down her box. "Oh, Karen, I know you loved Italy, but I am very happy you decided to transfer to a school in the United States – and Yale is such a good school."
"Well it's Ivy league," Karen said. "Connor can't say he beat me." Connor going to Columbia in Metropolis was Ivy League as well.
"Well, your school in Italy was comparable. It's why you were allowed to transfer in," Astra said. "You're still studying history, right?"
"Yes mom," Karen said. "And I broke up with my Carlo."
"He was nice but I'm not going to pretend I'm sad for you – you were too good for him anyway," Astra sad hugging Karen, about her breakup. "Let's go out to dinner after we're done unpacking. On me." Astra moved away from them and out the door.
"So, what is the real reason you came back to the States?" Ha asked Karen, knowing Karen had loved being out of the country. She had also created a bit of a name for Power Girl out of the country.
"There's something in America I want," Karen said, determination in her voice and Ha gave her a look but nodded and moved off to help his wife continue dragging Karen's belonging in.
Karen took a book out of her suitcase. She had been journaling her life and the adventures of the Justice League for a while. She had journaled the entire event which she started calling 'Aquawar'. She had also already heard of Ray and Barry's encounter with a new villain with weapons – it was going around the Super Family quickly, especially the destruction of Red Tornado.
She wrote down about moving into her apartment and some personal things first then wrote: In League news, Barry and Ray had an encounter with a new villain. Red Tornado is gone, and Derek was hurt. Ray's suit was damaged, but he'll be fine. I heard the villain called himself Weapons' Master. Weird name.
Karen stopped writing, smiling at her words before going to help her parents bring in her things.
-Karry Universe-
The villain known as Weapons' Master sat in his time traveling machine, smiling as he held the journal in his hand.
"Barry and Ray had an encounter with a new villain. Red Tornado is gone, and Derek was hurt. Ray suit was damaged, and he was badly hurt himself. He will be down for a while. I heard the villain called himself Weapons Master. Weird name."
The villain laughed as he read the passage from the ancient book. "Soon, I will defeat them and go home to show the world the Justice League and the Justice Legion aren't what they claim to be," the villain said, coming up with his next plan from the book.
-Karry Universe-
In the Penthouse, Jason was annoying Kara already.
"Jason, don't stomp up the stairs like that!" Kara yelled at the teenager who had come home moody.
"He could be worse," Barry said having gone to pick up Star and Romana who went down the stairs. The two were in a discussion that was getting intense as they disappeared, and Barry wondered what the girls were planning.
"What's that about?" Kara asked as she was giving Kent food; he was sitting in his highchair eating.
"I think talk about High School came up and seems both have a different school of choice. Star wants one with more focus on sports and Romana wants one more focused on music and dramatic arts," Barry said, and Kara gave a nod. The two girls were close and had become true sisters but had very different personalities and wants for the future. The idea they would stay together forever was unrealistic and they would have to realize that.
"Well, besides the weapons freak you had a good day?" Kara asked, and Barry gave a smile. "And the rest of STAR Co. is running smoothly – in case you're curious. Universal is ready to build on Titan. We're moving onto our next moon. We're building new STAR Co. cars from Little STAR that run on our fuel," Barry blushed; he had been more focusing on Toys and Gaming and Studios lately, leaving Kara with the heavy science. He had continued to upgrade Gideon. He was appreciative of the update from their company. "You can look up everything else if you want."
"I will," Barry said with a nod. "So, what do you think of our new enemy?"
We'll get him like we get everyone, Kara though back, leaning over to kiss her husband.
Post Chapter Note: And there we have it. I hope you enjoyed this. Shorter, but a good reintroduction chapter.
Next Time on Karry Universe:
The Deathstroke Gang- In Starling, the mysterious Weapon Master gives help to the Deathstroke Gang. Meanwhile, Jason has an issue with the other kids in the penthouse.
