8 Maids a Milking

AN: I know nothing about Gypsies. This is all made up so I could get this chapter title to work.

"So did anyone else see the gypsies?" True asked excitedly as she shoveled chicken into her mouth.

"I am sure everyone has just as I am sure you were taught to not talk with your mouth full." Rhianna scolded. "You eat like a rabid animal." She added when True opened her mouth to show her chewed up food, her face screwing into a look of distaste of its own volition.

Chris landed a sharp smack to True's leg, which had her closing her mouth and sitting up straight attempting but failing to keep a look of innocence. "They will only be here long enough to rest their stock, then they will be moving on."

"You leave them be." Vin looked at both True and Creed, who was staying with them while his father was out of town. "Both of you. I don't want to hear that you have been bothering them."

"Course we won't bother them. I was just making conversation."

"Uh huh. I know you too well little girl. You both mind what I say, you hear?"

"Yes sir."

True made it to the weekend before the need to check out the Gypsies became too much to ignore. As soon as she and Creed finished breakfast they asked to go riding and headed to a spot just outside the camp.

"What in the hell…"

True looked to where Creed was pointing to see eight women on stools milking cows. There were men with guns standing around them in a circle, as if the cows produced gold. "Huh. Rhianna told me that she read one of the men and found out that because they don't trust anyone that they keep their, and I quote 'unmarried virginal maiden woman protected'. I thought she was fucking with me."

"That is the craziest thing I've ever heard! Do they think that men are just waiting for the right moment to attack them and steal their virtue?" Creed asked with a laugh.

"Guess they are afraid that some other tits will be milked!" That set both of them into a fit of giggles.

"What are you doing here? Who are you?"

Both children immediately stopped laughing and jumped to their feet to face the man holding a gun on them. "Uh, we was just riding by."

"Didn't sound like it. Sounded like you were being disrespectful brats that need a good thrashing." He pointed them in the direction of the camp. "Move."

"Ephraim what are you doing boy?" An older man asked when they arrived. "Put that gun away."

"Found these kids watching us and making crude comments." He relayed what he heard True say.

"Words do not harm us, only actions. Go finish feeding the horses." The man waited until he obeyed, then looked down at them. "You're the hardware store owner's kid, and you, you're the lawman's sister, aren't you?"

"How did you know that?" True asked.

"I make it a point to know who is in any town we camp near. They also warned me I might see you around here, even though you are not supposed to be."

True and Creed exchanged glances. "Um, yeah. So I guess we will be going then."

"Nice try." He tightened the saddle he was putting on his horse. "C'mon. I promised I would bring you back if I saw you out here."

The ride back was a quiet one as both kids worried about their reception. Chris and Vin saw the man and two kids pull up outside the jail and went outside. "I'm surprised they made it this long."

"Yes. I expected to see them the day after we arrived." He shook hands with both men. "My son found them and was quite upset over what your girl said." He stepped closer to keep the words quiet since they were not meant for polite society.

Vin sighed and rubbed his face tiredly. "You two inside." Both kids dismounted and made for the door, unable to avoid the swat Chris laid down as they went by.

"Thank you for bringing them back."

"I have 6 children of my own, It was no bother." The man tipped his hat and rode off.

Chris headed inside the jail followed by Vin. True took one look at their faces and backed up against the desk. "We didn't bother them! We was just looking!"

"You both understood what we meant so don't even try it little girl." Each man grabbed a chair and placed it away from the desk. Creed was relieved when Vin called him over as he did not want to be the one punished by the black clad gunman. Soon, both kids were crying out their apologies and promising to never leave town again.

Once righted they were sent to the boarding house to spend the rest of the day in their room. Once there True fell face down onto Vin's bed, while Creed did the same on True's. After a few minutes Creed started giggling. "Wrong tits getting milked. I think that was the best one yet."
