It wasn't until a week later that Mob saw him again.
Mid Quarter exam was right around the corner, Mob spent most of his time studying at the library.
To avoid any unwanted attention, he avoided hidden places. Those spots obviously screamed red flags, as he thought so he looked at the guy with glasses. His hand holding the book (that was upside down) was trembling. A long-haired guy on the other side of the table looked calmed and if Mob didn't notice that this long-haired guy only had one visible leg below, he would really think this guy was innocent.
Obviously, being in a crowded area doesn't necessarily mean he's already safe. If he's not careful, he could trigger one. And just focusing on his books would not help. He looked at the guy beside him. Despite being next to a guy, he took this seat for two reasons, 1. This guy was heavily focused on his studies and 2. There was a delinquent student beside him that was trying to annoy the guy.
Based on his knowledge, soon enough this delinquent guy would get mad at him for putting all his attention on his books and ignoring him. Sure enough, the delinquent guy took the book and threw it out. The studious guy got mad and picked it up. Before he could do anything, the delinquent guy already went ahead and yoinked him out of the library.
And so now he had no one beside him…
"Is that you, Ayato's brother?"
Well that only lasted 1 minute.
His mind was already thinking of how to deal with this new intruder when he paused upon seeing the man.
"Oh, it's Toujou-kun…" Mob looked at his side and confirmed that his brother, Ayato, wasn't there. "I see you came to study."
"Yeah… Do you mind if I sit next to you?"
"No problem, take the seat."
It became quiet once more.
To be honest, Mob didn't know how to deal with him.
According to Ayato, the two 'broke up'.
However, Mob wasn't sure if that's the case; for all he knows this could be just a phase for Toujou to realize how much he loves Ayato to the point of willing to share rather than be separated.
Until then, he doesn't know if he should treat him like a stranger or still like his future brother-in-law.
Looking at Toujou, he looked quite different. Although he was still keeping up with his gentleman image, he now had an untamed beard. His hair was tied down. And he was wearing glasses. He was still charming, just that it now gives more of a tired adult vibe instead of the usual princely vibe.
After considering it all, Mob decided to ignore everything and just focus on his studies.
Mob couldn't help but inwardly curse at the professor for being too lazy to teach the lesson properly yet still expect them all to understand it.
Sighing to his fate, he opened his phone to google his problem. Yet when he opened his phone, he realized a problem: his phone's battery was dead!
And the worst part is that he left his charger at home. Great.
And it's not like he could borrow it from anyone, it might just trigger a flag!
"Your phone's dead? You want to borrow mine? Mine is type-c."
Just when all hopes are lost, his savior comes to the rescue!
"Perfect, mine is also type-c. Thank you Toujou-kun!" Mob quickly took the charger and charged his phone.
While he was trying to turn on the phone, Toujou was looking at his papers.
"Huh, despite being in your fourth year, you are still studying regression analysis?"
"Right? Well at least thanks to this we don't have to start away making a research paper… The problem is that it had been a long time since I studied this and so I have already forgotten how to exactly read this table, that's why I was planning to google it but the phone died."
"If that's the case do you want me to help? I still remember it."
"Oh, then I'll take your word for it then!"
Having his approval, Toujou put his chair closer to Mob and started explaining the table. Mob kept on nodding and sometimes asked questions.
As Toujou explained, he subconsciously looked at his (M) face. Now thinking about it, this was his first time looking closely at Mob.
He couldn't help but remember that time during high school when they were comparing Ayato and his brother. If he was to be asked the same question today, he would answer the same thing.
They were both different.
But somehow today, he couldn't help but remember Ayato from his eyes. He remembered how these same eyes would widen in shock when he told him sweet nothings… Yet similarly it was also the same eyes that looked angrily at him during that time.
Was he really willing to give it all up?
"...so is what I said is right or not…?"
Toujou immediately snapped out of his daydream and regained his composure. He asks Mob to repeat his question before answering him.
"Is that all, Mob-kun?"
Mob paused, he felt like there was something off with his words but there was honestly nothing wrong?
"Nothing. Thank you again Toujou-kun. You're a lifesaver."
"No problem. If there's nothing else, I'm leaving. Goodbye, Mob-kun."
With that, Toujou quickly grabbed his bag and went to the nearest toilet.
Going to a stall, the tears he was holding back immediately ran down.
Maybe Ayato is right; maybe he was being too possessive.
To actually break up with him just because he couldn't stand him being with others…
At least he can still be with Ayato… even if it meant sharing him with others.
He was so stupid.
Taking out his phone, he started thinking about how to beg for Ayako's mercy. But everytime he types, he would think it's not enough and erase it.
Finally, he made a message that was bearable enough.
Just as he was about to send it, he received a pop-up notification that he received a message.
'Hey you forgot your charger with me. I want to give it to you now but my class is about to start. Are you still on campus by 7pm?'
