The next day.

Dani's POV
I woke up to find a bagel with a spread of cream cheese, an apple, a glass of orange juice, and a note addressed to me. I opened the note to read:
Hey, Dani. I'm at school right now. I let you sleep in because you need the rest. Don't worry. If you need to go inside, you can hangout in my room. But, don't go downstairs. If Buck finds out that I let you stay the night, he would murder me.
Rest up, See you soon, man,
Dally
I smiled at the sight of Dally's handwriting. I stand up wondering what time it is. I head into Buck's Barn. I've never been in here before. I look around to find the place completely empty. Even Buck isn't here.
I find myself with a head rush after hearing a blazing alarm clock go off from up the stairs. I rush up there to find my father standing there holding my alarm clock in shame, as my morning alarm goes off.
10AM it reads.
"You bitch!" My father exclaimed. "You really thought you could run out on me?!" He continued, "Come on Dani, I'm your father. Why do you do this to me? I show you love, I buy you a house, I pay for your food, And this is how you repay me?!"
I stand there stunned. Frozen.
As soon as I can feel my heart beating again, I dash for the door. I open it as fast as I can and run. I was throwing things left and right hoping they would slow him down as he chased me through the barn, but he avoided everything. Eventually I find an open door. Thinking it led outside, I ran through it. But I was in another room. I slammed the door and locked it. I put my back against the door hoping it would keep him from coming in.
I feel tears rushing down my cheeks as I jumped at the noise of the window crack open. I saw a figure climb through the window. As soon as my eyes were cleared from tears I realized it was Dally. I screamed his name, sobbing. He ran to me and I tried my best to explain what was going on as my dad continued banging on the door, but my words were so paralyzed by fear, Dally couldn't understand
