Chapter Deux
I don't own Pokemon, but if Pokemon really exist in a far off world or universe, does anyone really own Pokemon?...
Darkknight55: Yep, thought their needed to be a new twist to the Ash is a Pokemon story.
"On the road to Viridian City!" sang Ash and Pikachu as they padded along the forest path with Misty, who rolled her eyes at their antics. Pikachu had never heard of this song, being a Viridian forest Pokemon, so Ash first had to teach him. Now they where on their third time singing the song.
"Alright you two, will you stop it!" complained the Eevee as the Zorua and Pikachu started the chorus. She flicked her bushy tail and covered Pikachu's mouth, causing him to stop and sputter.
"What, it's taking our minds out of our pain." replied Ash. "I still can't believe none of us have a potion. I knew Meema and I forgot something."
"Well, if we hurry, we can make it to Viridian City." said Misty. Pausing for a moment, she continued. "You know, you never told me why a Zorua and Zoroark moved to the Kanto region. Aren't you from Unova?"
"Yeah, we are. Which, by the way, is why I always thought it was interesting that the Johto region has that Kabuki theater. They obviously got the style of their makeup from our facial markings." replied Ash.
"So why did you move here?" asked Misty.
"Well, we moved here about a year and a half ago partially so I could go on a Pokemon journey." said Ash.
"Don't they have Pokemon journeys in Unova?" asked Pikachu.
"They do, but I wanted to partially go on this journey to prove Pokemon are not beneath humans, and Meema and I agreed that Kanto would be a good place to try it."
"But aren't you using an illusion to pretend you are human? How will that prove your point?" asked Misty quizzically.
"Well, one day I will be able to show the humans. That's why I have this camera in my bag." said Ash, grateful the knapsack his Meema had given him was waterproof.
"Well, why not do that in Unova?"
"Less suspicion, mostly. Unova is full of Zorua and Zoruark that can speak human. We occasionally integrate into human society, but humans know about us and wonder. As far as we know, my meema, my uncle, and I are some of the first Zorua and Zoruark to live in Kanto, except I guess your dad, Misty. So far the humans here are not suspicious. " replied Ash.
"Your uncle?" asked Pikachu
"Yeah. He does not live with us. He instead came to start a Pokemon only community. Hey Misty, do you know of any in Kanto? We have a few in Unova."
"Um, I do know of a place called the Hidden Village. Not sure where it is though." she replied.
"Pokemon only community?" asked Pikachu, confused. "never heard of those."
"They don't have any in the Viridian Forest?" asked Ash.
"None that I know of. There are some tribes and large groups, but nothing like a community." replied Pikachu.
"Oh, they are really cool!" said Ash playfully. "I grew up in one before we moved to Kanto. Had a little house that even had running water!"
"Pokemon communities have running water?" asked Pikachu, surprised.
"Oh yeah! They have lots of stuff. I hope your get to see one." said Ash. Turning his head toward Misty as they continued to walk, he asked "How about you, Misty? Where did you grow up?"
"Oh, uh...in a city." said Misty sagely. "Since my dad was a Zoroark, he taught us how to use the illusion ability. We went to school and learned how to speak human."
"That's so cool! I did not relisze other Pokemon did this too. I only saw other Pokemon did this too. I only ever saw Zorua and Zoruark do it. Do you know any other human speaking Pokemon?" asked Ash.
"Not that I'm aware of."
"Darn, well maybe we will meet more!" said Ash excitedly as they crested the hill. The three Pokemon looked out at the view before them. "There it is! Viridian City."
It was dusk by the time the three Pokemon reached the outskirts of the town. As they walked down the road, they past a PA system that was blaring a womans voice.
"Be on the look out for Pokemon thevies!" the lady said.
"I had heard that Team Rocket was getting more intense lately. "said Misty as they past.
"So, how are we going to get healed up?" asked Ash "I don't think we can go into the Pokemon Center like this."
Misty rolled her eyes. "Simple, genius. Just apply your illusion and take Pikachu and me to the center. After we are healed, I'll apply my illusion and take you to be healed."
"That's a great idea! I just hope I have enough energy to maintain it." said Ash. Closing his eyes, he his human illusion appeared. He grabbed his Pokedex and put it in his hand, the scooped up the Pikachu and Eevee in each arm and started to jog. He had only gone about 500 feet when heard a voice behind him.
"Where do you think you are going with those two Pokemon young man?" Ash turned around to see a police officer standing behind him with her hands on her hips.
"They are my Pokemon!" said Ash as Misty gave an annoyed 'veeeee'
"They got hurt on the way here, and I need to get them to the Pokemon center!"
"Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were stealing them. Just need to see your ID." replied the officer. "You know, they are very cute."
"My ID?" asked Ash, confused. "I just left Pallet Town today and I don't have ID."
"Another Pallet Town resident, huh? You're the 3rd one I've seen today." said the Officer."Oh, that's good. Glad they made it here safe." replied Ash."You know, it is weird to see someone careing their Pokemon out and about and not in a Pokeball. How do I know you didn't steal them?" asked the officer as she gave Ash a look.
"Why is that weird? I'm n...I mean, some Pokemon just don't like Pokeballs." said Ash.
"Where did you hear that?" asked the officer surprised.
"From my Pokedex." said Ash."Why didn't you say you had your Pokedex? That is your ID. " said the officer, smiling.
"It is?" questioned Ash as he looked at the small red dex in his hand "Why didn't Professor Oak tell me?" he thought as he handed it over to the officer. She opened it and pressed a button, which caused the robotic voice to start speaking:
"I'm Dexter, a Pokédex programmed by Professor Oak for Pokémon Trainer Ash Ketchum from the town of Pallet. My function is to provide Ash with information and advice regarding Pokémon and their training. If lost or stolen, I cannot be replaced"
"Well, it looks like you are a trainer. Which one is your starter?" asked the officer as she handed the Pokedex back.
"Pikachu." said Ash, holding up Pikachu higher to show the officer. Pikachu smiled, then moaned in pain. "Uh, can we go know? As you can see, they are hurt."
"Oh, of course. I'll get you their in no time at all." the officer said as she walked back into the small police station. Ash, Pikachu, and Misty watched as she headed into the station. After a few moments, the garage door then opened and the officer rode out on a motorcycle with a sidecar. "Hop in!" she yelled over the sound of the motor. Ash gingerly got into the sidecar, wincing as he was still in pain, and carefully place the two other Pokemon on the floor. "Ok, let's go." said Ash. He watched the officer smile as she reved the motor again, kicked it into gear, and floored it.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" yelled Ash.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!" yelled Pikachu and Misty from the floor.
"Hang on!" yelled the officer as they raced down the road. Sooner than later, the Pokemon Center appeared, a larger building with many stairs leading up to it. "Are you ready? This will be tricky!" yelled the officer sped up.
"What does she mean by that?" yelled Misty from the floor.
"I don't know!" replied Ash as they reached the stairs. The officer lifted her all her might as the bike hit the stairs.
To Ash's surprise, the bike launched in the air and flew over the stairs, landing up the sidewalk above. She then threw the bike into a skid and rode the bike through the front door, causing the three Pokemon occupants to scream as the bike came to a stop at the front desk.
"We have a driveway and a parking lot!" yelled the pink-haired nurse as she stood up from her desk.
"This is a Pokemon emergency!" replied the officer as Ash got out of the side car. He then reached back in and picked up Pikachu and Misty. Turning to face the nurse, he held up both Pokemon. "Please help!"
"On it." the nurse replied. She then stared to furiously type at her computer as she called out. "We need a bed for an Eevee and Pikachu, stat!" She looked up as two Chansy came in from a side hallway pushing a gurney. They pushed to Ash, then took Pikachu and Misty from him and placed them on the white sheet.
"Take these two to the operating room." she told the Chansy.
"Will do!" the Chansy replied in unison.
"Operating room?! I don't need an operation!" screamed Misty from the bed as she tried to get up.
"It just to check on you." said one of the Chansy as she pushed the Eevee to light back down. Then both Chansey pushed the hospital bed across the green linoleum floor to a pair of white doors and went on through.
"I hope I don't need to got to the operating room." thought Ash as he sighed in pain.
"Who are you?" asked the nurse, looking at Ash.
"He is the trainer. Can you believe it, another one from Pallet." said the officer.
"Well, next time take better care of your Pokemon." the nurse said sternly.
"But you don't know what happened!" protested Ash.
"Never mind what happened, just be more careful!" said the nurse. Softening her voice, she then said, "Leave everything to us, they will be alright. Just wait in the waiting room" Turning, the nurse then followed the Chansey into the room.
"Well, I better get going too." said the officer. Ash watched as she turned to see a long tire streak across the floor, coming to a stop at her motorcycle. Looking flustered, she said "Ooops, I left my bike at the front desk."
"We do have a driveway!" came the nurse's voice from beyond the white doors. The officer then got on her bike and left, leaving Ash alone in the waiting room. He walked over to a bench and sat down. After about a minute of waiting, he got out his Pokedex and opened it up. Pressing a button, he navigated to the chat app. Opening it up and sliding out the small keyboard, he put in his password and got onto the special group, TLKGFoxes and started typing.
Ashesredpaws77: Hey, anyone up?
Toorich99:Well, look who is finally here!
Abluepaws: Ash, where are you?
Ashesredpaw77: I'm in the Viridian City Pokemon Center.
Dragonpaws: Oh no! Are you two all right?
Ashesredpaws77: Kinda, Iris. I and my starter, Pikachu, had a run in with a bunch of Spearow and Fearow. Pikachu defeated them with an amazing blast of lightning! But it hurt the three of us too.
Toorich99: Three?
Ashesredpaws77: Yes, that is something I wanted to talk to you about. You will never believe what I found! Another Pokemon that can speak human, as well as disguise as one.
Abluepaws: I thought Ritchie, Ash, and I where the only Zorua here in Kanto?
Ashesredpaws77: That's what is so crazy! Her name is Misty, and she is an Eevee!
Dragonpaws: WHAT?
Ashesredpaws: I know, right? She said her dad was a Zoruark ,though, and got the illusion ability from him. Another talking fox! She should join our group.
Dragonpaws: I need to speak to the Elders about this. They will be surprised.
Abluepaws: Dang Ash, you are having such an adventure. I want to go on one too!
Toorich99: About that. Good news! Our boat finally landed and I can start my journey tomorrow. Soon we can travel together, Ash.
Ashesredpaws77: If you can catch up
Toorich99: It will be easy with the way you sleep in every day
Ashesredpaws77:I do not!
Toorich99:Yes, you do.
Dragonpaws: You two are such kits.
Ashesredpaws77 and Toorich99: We are not!
Ashesredpaws77: Be right back, I'm going to call my meema.
Ash got up from the couch and headed to the video phones. Thinking who to call first, he settled on his meema. Picking up the phone, he dialed her number. The phone rang, and Delia in human disguise appeared on the phone.
"Ash, it's you! How are you dear?" said his Meema happily.
"Only OK, Pikachu and I got hurt." he said with a little bit of guilt as he thought back to the Spearow he hit.
"What? Are you OK? Show me now, please." his Meema said worriedly. Ash looked around, then dropped is illusion, showing his meema the battered and sore Zorua he was. "Oh Ash, my poor kit. What happened?" Ash the proceeded to tell his mom everything.
"I feel bad, meema. I was my fault we got hurt." he said after he finished.
"Ash, you made a mistake, but anyone can make a mistake. A good trainer learns from their mistakes. Got that?"
"Yes, meema." said Ash as a smile grew across his back furry muzzle. "Oh, by the way, I met an Eevee named Misty. She can speak human too, and even disguise herself as one!"
"Really, how is that possible?"
"She said her dad was a Zoruark and passed on the illusion ability."
"Hmmmm, I have never heard of that happening before. I would like to meet her one day. Well, Ash, get yourself healed soon. I love you!"
"Bye, Meema." said Ash as he hung up the phone. He then reapplied his illusion and went back to the couch to wait. After talking to Professor Oak (who called the Pokemon center) the nurse finally came out of the door.
"Young man, your Eevee is healed." said the nurse as Misty followed out.
"Thank you, miss. What about Pikachu?" asked Ash, concerned.
"He just needs a little more time to heal. But he will be fine too." she said as Ash piked up Misty.
"My turn." he whispered in her ear. The nurse then walked back into the operating room. As soon as she was gone, Ash sneaked out the door with Misty and hid in a bush. Properly hidden, he dropped his disguise. "You know, being a human is great and all, but I much rather be a Pokemon."
"You said it. " replied Misty. She then applied her illusion, then picked up Ash and walked into the Pokemon Center, just as the nurse walked out again.
"Oh, hello young lady. Can I help you?" asked the nurse.
"Yes, please, I have this Zorua here, and he needs to be healed." said Misty, holding up Ash.
"A Zorua? Those are from Unova, correct? Are you from their?" asked the Nurse.
"Ah, no. I just got him from Professor Oak." said Misty quickly.
"Well, let me take him into the operating room. Just go sit in the waiting room. He should be fine soon." said the nurse as she took Ash from Misty's arms. "Why didn't she bark at her like she did to me?" thought Ash as he went back into the operating room.
Once they had entered the doors, the nurse put Ash on a hospital bed next to Pikachu, who was lying on a bed with a metal headband around his head and an attached incandescent light bulb. She then walked over to a cabinet and grabbed a couple bottles of stuff and returned to Ash. "Lets see, this one for the burns." she said as she sprayed Ash with a bottle marker BURNS.
"Yip!" barked Ash. It stung.
"Sorry, but your burns needed the extra strength stuff." apologized the nurse. "Good news is they will heal quickly. Taking the other bottle, she sprayed Ash again. Thankfully, this time the spray didn't sting, and Ash calmed down.
"Now you two wait right here. Soon you will both be all better." said the nurse. she then turned and walked away out a diffrent door.
"Finally, the pain was annoying." Ash said to the watching Pikachu. "How bad where yours?"
"Bad enough." replied Pikachu.
"What's with the contraption on your head?"
"She said it was to check my electricity output or something. I hope she takes it off soon cause it itches." replied Pikachu as he scratched hear the headband.
"It kinda makes you look funny." snickered Ash. "Like a Pikachu shaped robot."
"Beep, boop. What are your orders, master?" said Pikachu in a fake robotic voice.
"Go get me Pokechow!" said Ash as he started to giggle harder.
"Yes, master." replied Pikachu. He then stood up and started walking around the hospital bed like a robot whole saying 'beep, boop' over and over. Ash couldn't help himself, and he fell on his back laughing. Pikachu started laughing too, and fell on his back. The two Pokemon continued to laugh and laugh as they kicked their paws in glee.
"Oh mon, where did you learn about robots?" asked Ash as he finished laughing.
"Professor Oak watched an old sci-fi movie two days ago." said Pikachu. All of a sudden, a loud crash came from the direction of the lobby and waiting room. Ash and Pikachu watched as the nurse ran out of the room she had been in and out the swinging doors just as a noxious looking has seeped in.
"Oh no! Misty is out there! We got to help." said Ash worriedly.
"Help me get this thing off first! said Pikachu. Ash reapplied his illusion and jumped of his bed He grabbed the clasp on the back of the headband and unlatched it. He then took the headband off and picked up Pikachu as he rushed out the door. By the time they made it out, the gas had mostly disapated, and Ash saw Misty and the nurse looking at two humans in white uniforms with big red Rs on them, plus an Ekans, a Wheezing, and a Meowth. The two rushed over to Misty.
"What happened?" asked Ash
"Ash, its Team Rocket. They are here to steal Pokemon." replied Misty as she continued to glare at the criminals.
"Thats right. All the Pokemon here!" said the purple haired man.
"How could you? The Pokemon here are sick or injured!" shouted the nurse.
"Which means that the Pokemon here will be easier to capture." replied the red haired lad vwith a snear.
"Enough Pokemon to make the boss happy." said the Meowth. Ash looked at him in surprise. "That Meowth just spoke human!"
"Another one?" he asked Misty.
"I'm just as surprised as you are." she replied.
The Meowth narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean, another one?"
"Oh, um, nothing!" said Ash quickly. "Just, pretty cool for a Meowth to learn human speak!" Meowth continued to look at him and Misty with suspicion.
"Never mind that now, lets steal some Pokemon." said Jessie.
"You won't take Pikachu!" said Ash.
"Pikachu? We're not interested in your precious electric rat" asked said the red head lady.
"We only seek rare and valuable Pokemon." said the purple haired man.
"Who you calling common?!" yelled Pikachu from Ash's arms.
"You're starting to bug me." said Ash.
"Isn't that cute? The boy's bugged" sneered the red headed lady.
"Well, Jessie, let's squash him." said James "Koffing, go."
"Run!" yelled the nurse as she turned to head down the hallway. Misty, Pikachu, and Ash followed close behind. "Quickly, we need to transfer the Pokemon."
"Ekans, Koffing, follow them!" yelled Jessie. The two Pokemon followed them.
"Ash, Pikachu, are you well enough to fight?" asked Misty as they ran.
"I think so." replied Ash.
"I'm well enough! I'll show those losers I"m no common Pokemon!" said Pikachu.
"OK, we need to loose those two. I'll follow Nurse Joy and take on the Wheezing. You and Pikachu keep going down the hall and take on Ekans." said Misty.
"Right. Let's go, Pikachu!" said Ash. Nurse Joy then entered a set of door with Misty following. "Hey, long stuff! Your mother was a hamster and your father smells of elderberries!" yelled Ash back at the Ekans as he kept going down the hallway.
"Hey, my mother was not a hamster!" replied the Ekans. "I'll get you for that!" He continued after the Ash and Pikachu stopped at the door where Misty and Nurse Joy went into to. Turning a corner, Ash and Pikachu hid behind a metal filing cabinet in an unlit hallway, and Ash dropped his illusion.
"Let's do this." said Ash to Pikachu as Ekans came around the corner, coming to a stop.
"Where are you you little rat and human." said the Ekans.
"One, two, thee...now!" said Ash. The Zorua and the Pikachu jumped out from their hiding place in front of the Ekans.
"There you are...wait, where is the human?" asked the Ekans.
"That's not your concern." replied Ash. "Time to fight!" Ash fired a confuse ray at the snake Pokemon, hitting it right in it's face. Ekans immediately was confused.
"Now it's my turn!" yelled Pikachu. He then shot a thunder shock. The Ekans, too confused to try to dodge, got hit in the face again.
"Ekaaaaans!" moaned Ekans as it fell to the ground.
"One down! Let's go get that Meowth." said Ash. The two Pokemon then ran back around the corner around the back down the a hall. Passing the now busted door, Misty ran out and joined them.
"Did you take care of that Koffing?" asked Pikachu.
"You bet! Let's take care of the rest of them before they come back up." replied Misty. The three Pokemon made it back into the lobby to see the rest of Team Rocket.
"Hey, where are Ekans and Koffing?" asked Meowth.
"And who are the Eevee and...what is that other Pokemon, James?" asked Jessie.
"I believe that is a...Zorua? They are from Unova and really rare!" said James gleefully. "Let's get it!"
"That will be kind of hard with your Pokemon beaten!" yelled Ash. Meowth then narrowed his eyes.
"Hey, that voice. It sounds like...that human boy." mused Meowth.
"No it doesn't!" said Ash quickly.
"Shut up, Ash." said Misty.
"Where is that rat?!" came a voice from behind them.
"There they are!" came another voice. Turning around, Ash saw the Koffing and Ekans come down the hallway.
"Ha ha ha, we got you surrounded now!" said Jessie.
"Ash, this is bad." said Pikachu.
"We could do a triple attack." said Ash. "Ill use Shadow Ball toward Meowth. Misty, you use..."
"I'll use Swift toward Ekans and Koffing."
"Yeah, and Pikachu, you use Thundershock on both sides! Ready?" asked Ash. Misty and Pikachu nodded, and the three Pokemon readies their attacks.
"Uh, Meowth, whats going on?" asked James.
"I think we are in big trouble." said Meowth.
"We'll get you!" yelled Koffing as the two Pokemon lunged at Ash, Misty, and Pikachu.
"Fire!" yelled Ash. The three fuzzy Pokemon launched their attacks at once, creating, which came together into a single attack. It hit true, and Koffing and Ekans missed, instead flying to Jessie, James, and Meowth. This caused Koffing to blow off more gas, which got ignited by Pikachu's thundershock. A huge blast followed causing a huge hole to be appear in the roof, followed by Team Rockett.
"Looks like Team Rocket is blasting off!" Ash heard them yell as looked at the hole in the floor.
"We did it!" exclaimed Pikachu happily, jumping for joy.
"We did!" said Misty. The three Pokemon then jumped into a celebratory pile of fur, laughing.
"What happened here?" said Nurse Joy as she walked into the the lobby. "And why is there a hole in the ceiling?" she yelled.
"Crap." said Ash.
Things happened quickly after that. Ash quickly rushed back to the operating room (almost not able to get the door open) and jumped back into the hospital bed he was on earlier. Misty ran and hid behind a chair and reapplied her illusion. She then came out and pretended that she had been hiding. She then told Nurse Joy and the officer that had just arrived, claiming it was all Pikachu who defeated Team Rocket. She then went to bed in one of the trainers rooms Nurse Joy offered, while Pikachu was taken back to the into the operating room and placed back next to Ash. Soon all three went to sleep.
"Here we go, off to Pewter City!" said Ash as he, Misty, (both in their human disguise) and Pikachu headed down the road out of Viridian.
Yep! Misty is an Eevee! And could you tell who the other Zorua in the chat are? If you could not, Toorich99 in Ritchie, Abluepaws is Arnold from the HopHopHop town episode (he is shiny, hence bluepaws) and Dragonpaws is Iris, who is still in Unova.
