Knock knock knock.

The resonating sound disrupted the tranquility of Sasuke's new residence, stirring him from the grasp of sleep. His eyes, still heavy with drowsiness, flickered open, and he rose from the makeshift bed. The echoes of the fist against the door lingered, prompting Sasuke to move towards the entrance.

As he opened the door, the sunlight spilled in, revealing Tsunade standing on the threshold. However, something seemed different—Tsunade's face bore a subtle tint of red, a hue not easily associated with the legendary Sannin's usual composure.

"Morning, Takashi," Tsunade greeted, her voice steady, though the faint blush betrayed a hint of unease. "I owe you an apology for yesterday. I was... let's say, not in my usual state. It won't happen again."

Sasuke, slightly taken aback by the unexpected apology, raised an eyebrow. "Apology accepted. What do you want today?" Curious to how the Legendary Sannin knew where he was staying.

Tsunade, grateful for Sasuke's nonchalant response, regained her professional demeanor. "I'm here to inform you that I'll be overseeing your probation period. Think of me as your supervisor," she declared, her tone businesslike.

Sasuke, though indifferent to the change in dynamic, nodded in acknowledgment. "Fine. Get on with it."

Tsunade, slightly relieved by Sasuke's straightforwardness, delved into the details of his probation, outlining the rules and expectations. The conversation unfolded as a simple exchange, with Tsunade emphasizing compliance and Sasuke displaying a reserved acceptance.

Meanwhile, in the heart of the Uchiha compound, a messenger bird soared through the morning sky. Fugaku, the respected head of the Uchiha Clan, observed the avian messenger's descent with a sense of curiosity. Retrieving the message tied to its leg, he unfolded the parchment and absorbed the contents in front of a crowd.

"The Third Hokage will be resigning, and an election is scheduled," Fugaku announced, his voice resonating across the Uchiha compound. The gathered clan members, spanning generations from young to old, turned their attention towards their leader.

"Two candidates have been nominated for the position: Orochimaru and Minato Namikaze," Fugaku continued, his gaze sweeping over the assembly. Murmurs of discontent rippled through the crowd, the Uchiha displaying evident disapproval at the nominated candidates.

A seasoned Uchiha voiced the collective sentiment, "You should be among those nominated. His contributions to the village and his role as the head of the police force warrant acknowledgment."

Fugaku, recognizing the discontent among his people, raised his hand, a signal for silence. "I share your sentiments. The Uchiha have long been overlooked, and right now is not the time to get ahead of ourselves, I'm sure between these two candidates we will be heard."

The announcement, however, was not met with unanimous approval. A younger Uchiha questioned, "But how can we ensure our voice is heard? The village has a history of sidelining us."

A random middle aged Uchiha in the crowd, fueled by a sense of determination, replied, "We need representation. A voice among the candidates. If the village won't acknowledge us, we'll force them to see our worth."

As the news spread through the compound, a collective decision was made. Fugaku, along with other influential Uchiha, rallied the clan members to the central meeting area. The sentiment of unfair treatment and segregation fueled their resolve, creating an undercurrent of dissent that pulsed through the Uchiha compound.

In the quiet expanse of the Uchiha compound, Sasuke's sensitive ears picked up the faint murmur of discontent as he conversed with Tsunade. Excusing himself from their discussion, he left his home without his weapon and moved towards the center of the compound, where a gathering of Uchiha had congregated leaving a confused Tsunade at his door step. Fugaku, his father, stood at the podium, addressing the assembled clan members.

Sasuke, approaching the outskirts of the gathering, observed the subtle tension that lingered in the air. Fugaku, his authoritative presence noticeable even from a distance, spoke with a measured tone. "My fellow Uchiha, I understand your concerns. The village has not always recognized our contributions, but now, with the upcoming election, we have an opportunity to change that."

A low rumble of agreement and discontent echoed through the crowd. Fugaku continued, "Minato Namikaze and Orochimaru have been nominated. This election is a chance for us to rise above the oppression we've faced."

As Fugaku spoke, Sasuke noticed side conversations emerging among the Uchiha. Whispers of frustration and resentment permeated the air. A seasoned Uchiha voiced the shared sentiment, "We've been treated as if our accomplishments mean nothing. This election is just another way to keep us down."

Sasuke, with his acute hearing, picked up on various conversations, the voices of discontent weaving a blanket of frustration. One Uchiha, embittered by years of perceived neglect, murmured, "It's always the same. They dangle the illusion of recognition, but in the end, we remain in the shadows."

Another chimed in, "Fugaku better make sure this isn't just another empty promise. We need real change, not just words."

Sasuke, absorbing the collective discontent, felt a growing understanding of the Uchiha's plight. His father, sensing the undercurrent of skepticism, raised his hand for silence. "I hear your concerns, and I promise you, this is not an empty promise. Together, we will ensure the Uchiha Clan is not just recognized but becomes an integral part of the village's leadership."

Despite Fugaku's reassurances, Sasuke perceived a lingering skepticism within the crowd. As his father continued to speak, he pondered the potential for change. If he could engage Fugaku in a conversation, perhaps alter his perspective, it might pave the way for a more united Uchiha.

As the assembly continued, Sasuke moved through the crowd, picking up on conversations that reflected a desire for change. He approached Fugaku cautiously, mindful of the delicate nature of the situation. "Fugaku, may I speak with you?" Sasuke's request, though measured, carried a genuine curiosity.

Fugaku, acknowledging his son's presence, nodded. "Of course, Takashi. What's on your mind?"

In the midst of the Uchiha's collective yearning for recognition, Sasuke seized the opportunity to engage in a dialogue with his father. The exchange that followed would become a crucial turning point, a moment where the Uchiha's fate hung in the balance.

Sarutobi Hiruzen sat behind his desk, the weight of impending change hanging in the air. Before him stood Minato Namikaze and Orochimaru, both candidates for the position of Hokage. The office, filled with the tension of the transition of power, seemed to hum with the unspoken anticipation.

"By the end of the day, the polls will be in, and one of you will be given this seat," Hiruzen stated, his gaze shifting between the Legendary Sannin and the Yellow Flash. "Whoever it may be, I, along with the rest of the village, will be glad to have you."

Orochimaru, his demeanor always a subtle dance between charm and calculation, spoke first. "Hiruzen, the village is in need of a leader with a vision that extends beyond the traditional. I offer a path of progress, a future where our strength is not just measured in military might, but in scientific and strategic advancements."

Minato, known for his calm and composed nature, responded, "While progress is essential, we must not forsake the core values that define the Leaf. It's crucial to strike a balance between innovation and preserving the traditions that have safeguarded us for generations."

Hiruzen, leaning back in his chair, observed the dynamic between the two candidates. "Democracy has its way of unfolding, and the people will choose the path they believe in. Orochimaru, Minato, both of you embody qualities that the village admires. It's a testament to the strength of Konoha that we have such capable individuals vying for the Hokage position."

Orochimaru, his eyes glinting with a mixture of ambition and assurance, continued, "The village requires a leader who can guide us through a rapidly changing world. My vision encompasses not only the protection of our borders but also the exploration of knowledge beyond our current boundaries."

Minato, unwavering in his dedication to the village, countered, "Change is inevitable, but we must ensure it aligns with our values. The village thrives not just on strength but on the bonds that tie us together. I believe in a future where we grow, adapt, and yet remain rooted in the principles that make us who we are."

Hiruzen, a spectator to this verbal joust, nodded thoughtfully. "The choice is with the people. We'll see which vision resonates with them. Remember, whoever sits in this chair carries the responsibility of leading Konoha through both triumphs and challenges."

As the candidates left the office, the atmosphere lingered with the weight of expectation.

Konoha was adorned in decorations of festivities, celebrating the inauguration of the Fourth Hokage. Children frolicked in the streets, laughter echoing through the air as they played traditional games. Banners, proudly displaying the words "4th Hokage," were draped around the village, fluttering in the gentle breeze. The vibrant scene was enhanced by the unified attire worn by everyone—a black outfit adorned with a white overshirt, bearing the Kanji for fire embroidered on the back.

Nine hours had passed since the decisive conversation between the Third Hokage and the two candidates. The polls, concluding within five hours, yielded results that weren't even close. Now, the entire village had gathered outside the Hokage building, anticipation electrifying the air. Hiruzen Sarutobi, standing atop the building, surveyed his people with a paternal gaze.

"Now, we shall begin the inauguration ceremony of the Fourth Hokage. This ceremony shall be hosted by the Third Hokage. I, Hiruzen Sarutobi, would like to thank you all for your attendance. Now, let's have him step up onto the stage," Hiruzen declared, stepping to the side with his arm extended, welcoming the new Hokage. "The man who will take my place as Fourth Hokage."

Amidst the collective anticipation, Minato Namikaze walked up, donned in the distinguished Fourth Hokage Haori. The crowd erupted in cheers as the war hero ascended the stage. Waving at the crowd, Minato's smile radiated gratitude and humility. As the cheers settled, he addressed the assembled villagers.

"First and foremost, I would like to thank the people of Konoha. Without each and every one of you, I would not be standing here today. Secondly, I want you to know that I will lay my life on the line for this village and for each and every one of you," Minato declared with sincerity. His words resonated with the crowd, giving off a sense of unity and purpose.

Hiruzen, proud and confident in his successor, walked over to Minato, presenting him with the Hokage cap that completed his ceremonial attire. "Congratulations, Minato. I'm sure you'll make us proud," Hiruzen remarked, his voice filled with a blend of paternal warmth and confidence in the future leader of Konoha. "I have a lot to pass on to you on where we are currently at. We will speak in the chambers." Hiruzen spoke in a lower tone as he patted the young man on the shoulder an began to walk back.

The crowd, a sea of expectant faces, erupted in cheers once more. The transition of power, marked by this ceremony, symbolized not only a change in leadership but a continuation of the village's indomitable spirit. Minato, now officially the Fourth Hokage, stood before his people, ready to guide them through the challenges that lay ahead.

"Do you think Minato is the better choice of the two?" Standing in a sea of Konoha villagers Sasuke looked over at Fugaku who was standing next to his son and pregnant wife Mikoto.

"I have no doubts the young man may be still wet behind the ears but his intentions have always been pure. We have a mutual respect for each other considering our wives are close friends and we acknowledge each others prowess, but I'm hoping he won't be corrupted and misguided by the council." Fugaku said with a response.

Sasuke had already knew this, but he had to ask the obvious questions so he didn't seem too suspicious. He looked at his mother with himself in her womb. It gave him a strange sensation knowing that his mother was pregnant with him and the brutal future that awaited if things were left untouched.

Tsunade walked up to Sasuke, "Hey Takashi, you mind if I grab your ear for a second?" Sasuke averted his gaze from the Uchiha leader and looked at the Legendary Sannin. "Yea sure, " He looked back at Fugaku, "I'll see you at the compound later." Fugaku nodded his head as he pondered about the 'conversation' they had earlier. Sasuke turned his attention back to Tsunade. "how can I assist you?" He questioned her.

No matter how many times she looked at the Uchiha he gave her butterflies. Taking a deep breath she then exhaled to calm her nerves. "Come, this way." She grabbed his hand which took him by surprise and followed her through the crowd. After a few minutes they ended up near a few stores away from the people crowding the streets. "Was coming out here really necessary?" Speaking in his normal stoic tone he raised an eyebrow in question.

"I don't know what happened with you and Orochimaru, but as the Third Hokage's last order he issued you to go on an A rank mission with Orochimaru's recommendation. Why would he recommend you for such a dangerous ranking mission when you just became a leaf Shinobi?" She was filled with confusion. Reaching into her back pocket she pulled out two scrolls and a leaf headband. "I was told that these were yours." Sasuke took the headband first and shoved it in his pocket while grabbing the two scrolls. Placing one under his arm he let the other unravel while reading the documents.

"I Hiruzen Sarutobi acknowledges the skill set and intelligence of Takashi Uchiha. Therefore I will be promoting him to Jonin rank." The scroll read. He rolled it back up with a flick of his wrist and swapped the scrolls allowing the other to unravel in front of him.

"Mission Rank: A

Team: Takashi Uchiha, Tsunade Senju

Type: Elimination

Client: Enzo Tenro (Yumegakure)

Duration: 4 months (May be extended)

Objective: There have been complaints of missing ninja extorting the small village. Due to the third ninja war they do not have enough man power to fight back. Eliminate the threats within the village and report back to the Hokage's building."

Sasuke's gaze met Tsunade's as he inquired, "When do we leave?" His tone, a blend of readiness and anticipation, hung in the air. Tsunade, with a hint of a smirk, replied, "When the sun sets. We can head to the house now and get ready. Once we're prepared, we'll meet at the South Gate for our departure." Sasuke nodded in agreement, acknowledging the plan set in motion.

The two of them retraced their steps, walking back to the Uchiha compound with purpose. As they ventured towards their destination, the Uchiha compound buzzed with activity. Sasuke thought about the intel on the scroll and thought four months seemed like a long time just for a few missing nin. He'd probably learn more when he actually got to the small village.

Returning to the house to prepare for their mission, Sasuke changed into his iconic Uchiha outfit. The familiar threads clung to him, a symbol of his identity and prowess. With a practiced motion, he secured his headband in the back satchel, the metal plate gleaming with the emblem of Konoha. His preparations were minimal, a testament to the efficiency ingrained in his ninja routine. Sasuke's only companions on this journey were his trusty sword, strapped to his side, and a small bento box dangling from his front waist.

For this particular mission, Sasuke decided to add a layer of intrigue to his attire. Over his Uchiha outfit, he draped a meticulously tailored black cloak with intricate purple lining with the Uchiha clean symbol on the back, the details echoing a subtle elegance that befitted his character. Beneath the cloak, the Uchiha wore a stylish, grey long-sleeved, collared shirt, and over it, a periwinkle vest that injected a burst of color into the otherwise dark ensemble. Fitted black pants accentuated his agile silhouette, and a purple belt cinched his waist with meticulous precision. To complete the look, a dark grey fingerless glove adorned his remaining hand, a practical yet stylish accessory that spoke to both his tactical sensibilities and personal flair.

As Tsunade transformed into her Jonin uniform, Sasuke's attire reflected not just functionality but a careful curation of style. The fusion of dark tones and vibrant accents showcased his commitment to the mission while expressing a sense of individuality. The duo, now adorned in their distinct attires, exchanged brief dialogues about the mission's nuances.

"Takashi, remember, this mission requires punctuality. I need you at your best," Tsunade remarked, emphasizing the gravity of the upcoming mission. Sasuke, his gaze focused and determined, responded with a curt nod. The unspoken understanding between them fueled the preparations, weaving a sense of camaraderie as they geared up for the journey beyond the South Gate.

As they discussed the particulars of their mission, Sasuke inquired, "Do you seriously think it'll take 4 months to do eliminate them all?" Tsunade, her expression serious "I hope not, but we also don't know who we're dealing with." Sasuke wondered if there were any ninja in this age that could defeated a Kaguya level threat, sure Tsunade, Orochimaru and Jiraiya would all help but he doubted the three of them could do what him and Naruto did along with the help of Sakura and Kakashi.

The two Shinobi ready as they'll ever be at the current moment ventured off out of the leaf village towards the village of Yumekagure.
