I'm excited to show you guys what happens with Violet through this part of the story. I promise it will be a while before Bucky comes in, but there will be chances through this story that he will appear in some sort of way. I hope that you guys enjoy this next chapter.

Chapter 39

Violet and Fury came into the bar seeing Vers looking at photos on the wall.

"What can I get ya?" The bartender asked Vers.

"Where was this photograph taken?"

"At an airport?"

"Where's Pegasus?"

"That's classified. Not unlike the file I started on you." Fury said firmly.

Vers walked behind the bartender seeing Violet and Fury there.

"But I see you changed it up a bit since then. Grunge is a good look for you."

"Did you have a rough day Agent Fury?"

"It's cool. You know, space invasion, big car chase, got to watch an alien autopsy. Typical 9 to 5."

"So you saw one?"

"We both did." Violet said, crossing her arms raising her brow looking at Vers.

"I was never one to believe in aliens. But I can't unsee that."

"This is gonna get a little awkward but I gotta ask."

"You think I'm one of those green things."

"I think she is saying that about both of us." Violet said letting out a breath.

"Can't be too careful."

"You are looking at 100 percent red-blooded Earthman."

"I'm afraid I'm gonna need proof."

"We talking cheek swabs or urine samples."

"No. The DNA would match."

"Well my AOL password."

"Skrulls can only assume recent memories of their host bodies."

"Oh oh! You wanna get personal."

"Where were you born?"

"Huntsville, Alabama. But technically I don't remember that part."

"Name of your first pet."

"Mr. Snuffers."

Violet tried to not laugh.

"Mr. Snuffers?"

"That's what I said. Did I pass?"

"Not yet. First job?"

"Soldier, straight out of high school. Got the rank of full breed Colonel."

"And then?"

"Spy."

"Where?"

"It was the Cold War, we were everywhere. Uh... Belfast, Bucharest, Belgrade, Budapest."

"Now?"

"Been riding a desk for the past few years, trying to figure out where our future enemies are coming from. Never occurred to me that they'd be coming from above."

"Name a detail so bizarre a Skrull could never fabricate it."

"If toast is cut diagonally, I can't eat it. You didn't need that did you?"

"No. No, I didn't. But I enjoyed it." She turned attention to Violet. "First pet?"

"Never had one." Violet said leaning back in her chair taking a breath.

"First job?"

"Military. Went to a full blown Colonel as well."

"Then?"

"Agent."

"Then?"

"Military again."

"Then?"

"Spy. Been off the field for a few years."

"One thing that a Skrull couldn't fabricate?"

"My high sense of smell. I'm able to smell if someone's scent is off."

Vers blinked a few times. She never had heard of such a thing. No Skrull could copy this woman then if she had such a good sense of smell.

"Ok. Your turn. Prove you're not a Skrull." Fury said, looking at Vers.

Veres then used a blast of energy from her fist towards a jukebox on the opposite side of the room before resting her head on her fist.

Fury looked at the jukebox in confusion and concern. "And how is that supposed to prove to me that your not a Skrull?"

"It's a photon blast."

"And...?"

"A Skrull can't do that. So a full-bred colonel turned spy turned SHIELD agent must have pretty high-security clearance. Where's Pegasus?"

Violet let out a breath. "I don't like the sounds of this." Violet said, shaking her head. "You want classified information."

"Skrulls are after it. I'm trying to stop them."

Violet thought for a moment before looking at Fury. "I guess we don't have much of a choice do we?"

I have a thing for Cats and Goose is actually one of my favorite characters. Lol. We learned that Violet had gone through a lot of things and weren't really mentioned.
