Phase 41: Wifey Duties Pt 1
Jessica is waiting by the entrance to the lab in the University to see Peter coming there first. "Hello there spy," Peter said with a dry tone.
"Looks who's talking good sir," Jessica said.
"Where is Rachel, she called me to help her get her partners back," Peter said.
"She is coming, her hideout got firebombed by those Valkyrie bitches," Jessica said.
"Gee, what a mess but we are close to the lab. Which is all that matters," Peter said as Jessica did not trust this man.
"Hope you don't leave Rachel behind because you can't handle the fighting," Jessica said as Peter laughed at this.
"I will do what I must," he said being kind of vague about it.
"Blondie," Jessica said looking happy to see Rachel appearing in full battle gear holding her assault rifle getting ready to fight to get her best friend and boyfriend/future husband back.
"Hey guys, thanks for coming. Dealt with Ren and now with the boss of this place," Rachel said.
"I heard you fought against a P.A.C. or Powered Armor Crusader. Those things are like walking tanks, good job taking out one by yourself," Jessica said sounding very impressed.
"Thanks, I had to think on my feet to deal with it," Rachel said as she brought the keys to unlock the console to unlock the lift door for the trio to go inside. "Here we go," she said as they headed downward into the huge lab complex underneath the college campus.
Elsewhere Linda can see the trio within the lift. "Coming into my hive like ants," she said as she pressed a button to mess with the elevator. "All units give our guests the red carpet treatment. Make sure to capture Rachel for study, dead or alive," she commanded.
"Yes madam," a Valkyrie said on the radio.
The elevator is acting strange as they stop at a floor. "Good, let's go," Jessica said as she and Peter got out of the lift. Rachel is about to get out but the elevator falls for a bit to be stuck. "Rachel?!" she panicked as Rachel saw another open door to leap through to see the lift fall down the shaft.
"I'm okay, keep going. We will meet up later," Rachel said on the radio as she checked her M8A2 assault rifle.
"Alright, be careful down there," Jessica said as she was not happy with Peter beside her. "Don't slow me down," she said to cock her MDRX DMR to head forward.
"Of course, you do the same," Peter said to check his ACR 6.8 to head off into the labs.
Rachel walks for a little bit to see a screen come online to see a dark-skinned woman appearing on the screen. "Hello there Rachel, glad for you to join us here in the main lab complex," Linda said.
"Where is Elza and Jack?" Rachel demanded.
"Oh, don't rush things. We are just getting started here. We have great interest in you, Rachel. You managed to overpower two Valkyries, very impressed. My offer still stands, you will be the leader of the Valkyries and enact the will of the Overseer," Linda said.
"I said no, I am not dealing with whack jobs like you," Rachel said.
"Well, you will join willingly or by force. Your friends are the key to that. Enjoy your stay here within the complex," Linda said as the screen turned into a map that showed where Elza was located.
"E, she seems to be in the research wing," she said as Linda was taunting her to try and save them. "Well, I will save them, destroy this place, and go back home," Rachel said as she saw the movement as Undertaker Defenders were using their assault shield to approach Rachel with them using machine pistols and Judge shotgun revolvers. Then a Grenadier is behind them holding a GL-06 grenade launcher filled with acid rounds.
"Oh, not good," Rachel said as she dodged the incoming acid rounds making sure not to get her suit compromised. She took cover with the shield wall getting closer with her bullets bouncing off the assault shields. She lobs a frag grenade to hit the section of the shield wall behind to take them out.
Rachel fires a few shots to take out the Grenadier to drop it as she sweeps up the rest. Another Grenadier appears to lob a frag round to send Rachel away with a strong blast. She falls onto the floor with her Valkyrie suit tanking the frag shards. She rolls away from the frag blast to fire onto the chest of the Undertaker killing it off.
"I will take these," Rachel grabbed some acid grenades just in case she fired Valkyries again.
"You are quite impressive. Masterful skills in combat, my Valkyries do not have such field experience," Linda said on her radio earpiece.
"I am destroying this place and wiping them out," Rachel said.
"That is so cruel, wiping out your sisters like that," Linda said in a mocking tone.
"I didn't ask for you to steal my blood to clone me. They need to be destroyed," she said.
"I doubt it, I already shipped most of the Valkyries to the Overseer along with the data. We have backups of the Valkyrie research data," Linda said acting smug about it.
"Well at least this place will be gone within this day," Rachel said.
"Good luck with that," Linda said as she cut off the radio. Rachel went down the hallway to see it was so clean and tidy compared to the outside with the city of Redford nothing but a shadow of what it was.
"These researchers are monsters, using those people for their experiments," Rachel thought as an auto turret detected her to fire onto her armored vest to stop its rifle rounds. Rachel uses her assault rifle to pepper the ceiling-mounted turret with bullets to destroy it.
"Automatic defenses as well," she said as she contacted Jessica on the radio about what happened with Ren. "Hey Jessica, I need to speak with you about something," she said.
"What's up?" Jessica asked.
"Well Ren told me about your boss and his plans to betray you," Rachel said as Jessica's eyes widened by this.
"What!?" Jessica asked.
'Yeah, he mentioned a project to clone you for a Valkyrie-like project called Inceptor. Knowing big-shot Chinese types makes sense. He never cared about you," Rachel said as Jessica felt a sting in her chest but tried to mask it. "He sends you here to die and if you come back. They are going to kill you," Rachel said as she wanted to make sure Jessica was safe due to have becoming close with her.
"Wait a moment, I need to think," Jessica said as she was overwhelmed but keeping calm.
"Okay, I just wanted you to know. Also, we need to set up objectives," Rachel said.
"Well, we need to rescue your friends, find the command center to overload the reactor, disable the jammer, and get a ride out of here," Jessica said.
"Okay, good. We are on the same page. Well, I need to keep going to meet up with you guys. See you later," Rachel said to cut off the radio.
"Damn it," Jessica said as Peter noticed a troubled look on Jessica's face.
"Bad news miss spy?" Peter mocks her.
"None of your business," Jessica said.
"Got the rats running around here. Rachel is welcome but you are not supposed to be here. I have a friend who will greet you to the doors of death," Linda said as they heard thuds nearby to saw an Abyss Tyrant walking towards them having his tough crab armor.
"Oh shit, this thing," Peter said as they open fire on the Abyss Tyrant but his shell armor blocks their shots.
"This is not good," Jessica said as the Tyrant ran towards them using Is crab claw to smash them. They roll out of the attack but the Abyss Tyrant kicks Peter across the hallway with Jessica showing little concern.
"Thanks for the concern," Peter said wryly.
"Don't mention it," Jessica said dryly as the Abyss Tyrant let out a piercing sound that dug into their skulls. "Gee, this is bothersome," Jessica said as they began to run away from the Tyrant.
"Hey Rachel, we got problems. We are fighting against an Abyss Tyrant, get back here and give us a hand," Peter said on the radio.
"I am dealing with the automatic defenses. Very annoying rocket and machine gun turrets are holding me back a bit," Rachel said as she was using her XDM to bounce off the walls to avoid getting hit with rockets. Her 10mm bullets strike and destroy the turrets.
She slides into a vent to crawl inside to be within another room filled with Grunts searching for her. She pulls out her Tanto dagger to begin sneaking around to pick them off. She grabs a Grunt to drag it away from sight to slit its throat to place it on the floor. She uses her speed to get behind enemy mutant soldiers to grab them and stab them in their throats. She sees the last one to kick it in the leg to make it knell thrusting her blade into its neck with blood pouring onto its black suit.
She sees a few more soldiers coming in with her drawing her KSG-12 to unleash magnum buckshots to blast apart sections of their bodies seeing their bones and organs exposed to the elements.
"Gee," she switches to her M8A2 to fire several shots into a few more Undertakers to drop them onto the floor. She moves into another room to see several new Undertakers called Shock Troopers who are more advanced and smarter than the Grunt troops. They are kitted in military gear, body armor, and helmets wielding M8A2 Assault Rifles and ATI Omni AS Shotguns
"No more gimp suits for these guys," Rachel said as one of the Shock Troopers tosses a flame grenade to set a nearby table on fire. "Oh goodness," she thought as she ran away with a Shock Trooper shooting Rachel in the head but her helmet blocked it. She feels a ringing in her head giving her a short headache.
She tosses an acid round to splash onto one of the Shock Troopers to emit an unreal scream from its body melting from the green acid. She rolls behind a table to avoid a flame grenade hitting her and setting the table on fire. She kicks the flaming table to score a hit onto a Shock Trooper.
He lobs a frag grenade from her rifle's launcher to blast the Shock Troopers to knock them onto the floor. She fires her M8A2 which its 6.8x43mm Armor Piercing rounds manages to cut through the modern body armor with ease killing one of the Undertaker Shock Troopers.
"Good thing I have this thing. Been reliable from the beginning and off this rock," she said as she was pressing the Shock Troopers to go rushing in to fire precise bursts to cut through their body armor to kill them off.
She goes into the other room to see two Heavies with machine guns and two Engineers operating Dragonflies and auto-turrets.
"Find her and bring me her body," Linda ordered on their radios. Rachel loads up an acid round into the rifle's launcher to lob it and engulf the first Heavy. The acid is melting away the armored suit to slice through the weakened armor and kill off the Heavy.
The other Heavy opens fire and the heavy rounds hit Rachel's body suit to take the hits as she takes cover. A few Dragonflies come in to defend the Heavy to pour down rounds at Rachel's position clipping away at her cover. She lobs a grenade to hit the Heavy as the pieces of fragment scatter and tear into the flying drones to crash onto the floor.
She draws out her Desert Eagle to roll around while blasting the Engineers in the chest with the .50 AE rounds killing them off disabling the machines in the room leaving the only Heavy there. She uses an acid round to soften off the armored suit of the Heavy. He fires the rifle rounds to shoot through the Heavy dropping it onto the floor and clearing the way.
"Seems like this is a control room for the ceiling turrets," Rachel said as she saw on the monitors Jessica and Peter being chased by the Abyss Tyrant. "They were not kidding. I can use the turrets to cause a distraction until they find something to take it out," she said as she set the turrets to track the beast.
Grenades and rounds pepper the monster to give the duo the distraction they need. "Good work blondie," Jessica said to the radio to be within a vast room with boxes and crates.
"We can use something in here," Peter said.
"Remember to use Acid to weaken the shell armor and hit with a rocket," Rachel said on the radio.
"Yeah," Jessica said as the Abyss Tyrant roared at them to let out a piercing noise to stun them above to grab Jessica with the crab claw. She ducks under the limb to put shots from her MDRX but nothing is getting through that shell armor.
Rachel switches to the camera in the warehouse room to use the rocket turrets to blast the beast but is unable to break its shell.
"Get acid grenades," Rachel said as she was distracting the monster. The Abyss Tyrant is destroying the turrets by throwing boxes at them breaking them on impact.
The duo searches through the boxes to see acid grenades as all the rocket turrets are destroyed. "We need a rocket launcher," Jessica said as she tosses an Acid grenade that burn the armor of the Tyrant.
Peter grabs an RPG MK 777 out of a crate to fire it at the monster to blow off chunks of the shell armor leaving him exposed. The Abyss Tyrant roars in pain trying to rush in and kill them off but they are quick enough to dodge incoming attacks.
Peter reloads the launcher to fire another rocket to vaporize the upper half of the Tyrant to see his legs fall onto the floor. "Thank goodness, that was a pain in the ass," Peter said as Rachel rushes through the hallways to meet up with the others.
"Good thing you guys are okay," she said to hug Jessica.
"Right, did you find anything on your partners?" she asked.
"Yes, I found Elza in the research wing of the complex. We need to head there," Rachel said.
"We should split up, I can help you from afar. I need to head for the security center to unlock some doors," Peter said.
"Okay, be careful," Rachel said as the two women went off with Peter sporting a big grin.
"Time to cause some chaos," Peter said as he moved away to go to a nearby security station.
"Is this a good idea?" Jessica asked.
"Better to spread out, just in case trouble happens," Rachel said.
Linda is watching them from the cameras to see them cutting down anything in their path to find the two agents. Linda looks over to a vial that has a special serum inside. "Just in case," she thought.
"Madam, they are breaching the outer limits of the complex," the Valkyrie said on the radio.
"We still got the advantage. The blond woman is in the research section, many bioweapons are there to guard her," Linda said as Peter was in the security office to see switches that would turn off the defenses to let loose the bioweapons into the labs.
"Perfect this will give me the perfect cover and find a means to secure an escape," Peter thought as the hallways flashed red against the white walls.
"Warning bioweapons are let loose. Secure the bioweapons at once and bring them to the cells," the computer said as several types of bioweapons are let out into the halls and rooms killing off the research staff to engage the Undertakers and Valkyries.
"Seems like the rat has done it now," Linda said as she was a bit worried about this.
"The bioweapons are flooding into the labs. I need to contain the situation," the Valkyrie commander said to cut off the radio.
"Peter, always willing to go on your own," Linda said as the labs are descending into chaos with the race to save Elza and Jack is going to get even harder than before.
