Chapter 5: Delibird's Dilemma

This adventure begins in a snow covered town where a Delibird is flying overhead.

Narrator: Twas the day before Christmas, and all through the town, cheer and goodwill did truly abound. Nonsense, humbug, rubbish! Don't believe all that sentimental Christmas hooey! Something bad's going to happen, I just know it. It always does the day before Christmas.

Meanwhile, Pikachu and Eevee, and the other Pokemon are bowling with snowballs.

Pikachu holds a snowball and calls out, "Pika Pika?!" (Are we ready?!)

Bulbasaur and Chikorita stand by with the pins, which are glass bottles

"Bulbasaur! Chikorita! (Set and ready!) Both Bulbasaur & Chikorita answer.

Narrator: Hey, maybe that snowball's gonna knock over that Bulbasaur. Yeah, I bet that's it.

Pikachu gets a running start and lets the snowball roll, and it soon hits them all. The Pokemon start celebrating Pikachu's accomplishment.

Narrator: Guess not. Well, maybe this Cyndaquil will do some damage.

Soon, the bottles are set back up by the two Grass Pokemon.

Cryndaquil has a snowball as he says, "Cyndaquil!" (Okay, now! Here goes!)

Cyndaquil sends the ball along the lane, but it veers to the right instead of hitting the pins, causing the other Pokemon to laugh. Soon, Totodile comes in with a bigger snowball in his mouth

Narrator: Here we go! This has got to be it! I've got a feeling about this.

Eevee says, "Eevee Eevee." (Be careful, Totodile.)

Totodile tries to set the snowball up to roll down the lane, but ends up tripping and shooting it up towards the sky with a Water Gun, and it ends up hitting a Delibird flying through the sky, shocking everyone.

Narrator: Yep. What did I tell you? The day before Christmas it happens every time.

Everyone goes after the falling Delibird.

Meanwhile, Meowth, Wobbuffet, and Happiny are at an apartment building.

"I tink dat Skarmory relocated for the holidays. You don't evah want to get one of dem mad, not if you know what's good for you," Meowth says.

But when they reach the top of the steps….

Meowth panics, "Oh no! It's back! Look, whatever you do, don't wake it up."

"Wobb-uffet! ("No prob!") Wobbuffet says.

Hap Happiny," (Okay Meowth.) Happiny says.

Suddenly, Meowth looks up and sees Delibird falling towards him, Happiny, and Wobbuffet before knocking them down the steps while the snowball hits Skarmory. The Skarmory soon busts from the remains of the snowball, plenty angry.

Meowth: Don't look at me! It wasn't me that did that! Meowth cries out.

"Wobbuffet! (Or me!) Wpobbuffet says, frightened.

"Happiny," (Me neither.) Happiny adds.

However, the angry Skarmory uses Wing Attack to blow Meowth, Happiny, Wobbuffet and Delibird away.

"Hey, you got a serious anger management problem!" Meowth cries out.

As for Delibird, it was spinning through the air, dropping presents out of its bag.

Ben: That Delibird's dropping Christmas presents! The Delibird soon lands in the woods, prompting Pikachu, Eevee, and the others to go after it. At the last moment, Noctowl swoops in and saves it.

Noctowl struggles to hold on, (I got you! Urrgh, Oh dear, you are...awfully heavy.)

Noctowl falls while still clinging on to Delibird. Chikorita and Bulbasaur send out some vines and manage to do so before letting both Noctowl and Delibird down with a thud, which knocks Delibird out.

Pikachu asks, "Pi. Pika Pika?" (Hey. Are you okay?)

Chikorita offers to wake it up, but Eevee advises against it. Then Totodile decides to do it, but Pikachu stops it from using Water Gun to do so. Cyndaquil then decides to wake Delibird up by tickling it, which works, though it wakes up staring right into the eyes of Psyduck. Delibird backs up, ready to defend itself, but Pikachu, Eevee, and Togepi, Pichucalm it down.

Delibird then panics when it realizes all the presents they have are gone.

Narrator: Delibird's bag of presents was lost, and gifts scattered all over town. That means kids were gonna wake up Christmas morning with nothing under the tree.

Soon, the Pokemon console it, offering to help out.

Narrator: Unless, well, unless these Pokemon can help. Along with that brave young man and his beloved. But they'd have to find all the missing presents before midnight, that's when everything's gotta be loaded up for delivery.

Soon, everyone splits up to find the presents.

Some of the Pokemon begin to look at a bridge.

Pikachu soon spots one on the roof of the cabin of a boat.

Song:

Everybody's laughing, everybody's thrilled,

Everybody's having fun all around this world.

Totodile dives off the bridge and swims in the water to catch up with the boat.

Song:

We'll be friends forever - together feels so right.

So much catching up to do - no one's gonna sleep tonight!

Pikachu and the others hurry up to catch up with Totodile as he tries to catch up with the boat at top speed

Song:

Oh, oh, oh, oh, hey!

Pikachu's Vacation!

La, la, la, la, la, yeah...

Winter Vacation!

Luckily, Totodile is able to jump on the boat and grab the present, before realizing the boat is turning another way.

Song:

Oh, oh, oh, oh, hey!

This forces Totodile to jump off before Chikorita manages to catch it with her Vine Whip.

Meanwhile, the rest of the gang is in the forest looking for the other presents.

Soon, Noctowl flies in. Bulbasaur asks if he's seen it, but Noctowl shakes its head no, indicating it hadn't. Meanwhile, Psyduck spots a line of Gloom walking along and decides to join them, before Bulbasaur finds it. Elsewhere, Noctowl is flying around on the lookout for presents. At first, it doesn't find anything until it decides to use Foresight to find a present up in a tree and alerts the others about it. Geodude tries to smack it down by ramming into the tree, but all that falls is snow, and it lands on Psyduck, along with the present

Narrator: Yes! Present number two has been found. Now they just have to find three more before time runs out.

Over with Pikachu's group, Cyndaquil falls asleep, only to be woken up by Pikachu. But when Pikachu and Cyndaquil both look up, they spot another Christmas present up on some power lines. However, an Aipom grabs it

"Pika Pika." (Please don't take it.) Pikachu calls out.

Aipom cheekily mocks the group, prompting Totodile to throw a snowball at it, only for Aipom to avoid it at the last minute and mock them all again. Chikorita then tries to throw a snowball at the cheeky Aipom, only for Aipom to catch it and throw it back. While the Aipom celebrates, Totodile spots the opening it needs and nails Aipom in the face with a snowball, sending it plummeting to the ground with present in hand, prompting Pikachu to dive in and save both it and the present.

Eevee walks to Aipom and asks, "Eevee?" (You alright?)

The Aipom simply scampers away.

Delibird calls out, "Delibird!" (Merry Christmas!)

And so, the group heads on to find the next present while the Aipom watches.

Later that evening, everyone regroups with just a few minutes to go as Bulbasaur returns two presents to Delibird

Narrator: It's ten minutes till midnight. And with no time to spare, the Pokemon and their human friends have found all the presents. Or have they?

Delibird soon realizes that the fifth and final present is missing

Narrator: One present is still missing, but I'm afraid that time's almost up. With all the deliveries that have got to be made tonight, we've got to get going!

Noctowl uses Foresight to look up and down the tree for the last present, and finally finds it deep within and announces that it did. Noctowl tries to get the present out of the tree and finally grabs the ribbon, but ends up dropping it while pulling the present loose. Everyone tries to position themselves to catch the present before it hits the ground, but it ends up hitting a ramp made of fir leaves and goes flying. Chikorita and Bulbasaur manage to keep it from hitting the ground with Vine Whip as Totodile rushes on ahead and manages to catch it. However, the Pokemon don't stop in time and cause Totodile to send the present flying again. But before the present can fall over the edge, the Aipom from earlier catches it.

Pikachu happily says, "Pikachu!" (You saved it!)

Aipom hands the present to Pikachu.

"Pika Pika." (Thank you, Aipom.) Pikachu says.

Pikachu then hands the present to Delibird who puts the present in its sack.

Soon, the clock chimes and a bright light is seen off to the right.

Everyone looks and sees the tree where the present was hiding all lit up.

Narrator: The clock struck midnight, that meant Christmas was about to start.

Just then, they hear some jingle. And when they hear a voice, they turn to find Santa in his Stantler drawn sleigh and Delibird with it

"I want to thank you all for finding the missing presents! And you did it just in time because I have to start my delivery run now!" Santa says. "Hop aboard, Delibird."

Delibird does so before Santa takes off. The sleigh soon takes off.

Santa: Well, things worked out pretty well for the day before Christmas. And I have a feeling they're going to work out even better on Christmas Day!

Delibird waves to his new friends as he and Santa take off, and flies toward the moon and.

"Merry Christmas, everyone!" Santa calls out.

Santa's sleigh then flies over the Pokemon while they wish him and Delibird a Merry Christmas.

Santa: Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the town, cheer and goodwill did truly abound! And that's not nonsense, humbug or rubbish, it's just true. Merry Christmas! Ho-ho-ho!
