This is a story about Daryl losing grip, and finding hope and a friend in an unlikely situation. The changes in himself are more noticeable than ever, and they're shining through just in time for his life to start again. What happens when the person you have longed for assumes an entirely different situation?

He's ok. He's ok. He's ok. I tell myself over and over again, it's more of an internal chant in my head now. I know he's ok, he can take care of himself, he has his weapons and he's not alone. It is meant to be about the remorse and guilt Daryl feels when he loses those close to him and is based on something I noticed watching Ep 10 Them. It seemed Daryl was the only one that acknowledged Carol at all. I know it's completely wrong but the idea got stuck so please humour me. A/N explains more.
