Ed Edd n Eddy: Duel me Ed

The famous game that is called Duel Monsters has finally arrived into the well-known Cul-De-Sac of Peach Creek. When Eddy learns about it and the professional view of it, he doesn't lose the opportunity to create his own tournament for the crown of the King of Peach Creek's Duelists, so he can gain some money at last.

1. Chapter 1: A New Scam

Something a little different from the usual fanfic. It's an Ed Edd n Eddy as duelists but in their own reasonable framework. Lets see what Eddy and his gang can make off from duel monsters. I won't put the characters of Yugioh into the storyline itself, or at least as we know them, but I'll keep the Duel Disk and the Solid Vision system.

Another beautiful day at the Cul-De-Sac of Peach Creech in Canada has just begun. It's the summer vacation and so Double D (aka Eddward) was heading with his friend Eddy at Ed's place; the third member of the Ed gang. Only a few weeks passed after the great journey to Eddy's brother place and the revelations that came from this trip were breathtaking and resulted to the Ed's acceptance from the rest of the kids. Though that didn't stop Eddy from making scams because old habits die hard. And that was today's goal as well.

Eddy: "Hurry up sockhead. We've got to get Ed from his place so we could start building. This time I have a scam that won't fail for SURE. Sweet jawbreakers here I come hahahah."

Double D: "You know Eddy, if we had the opportunity to earn 25 cents for every time you've said that, we would be rich by now. And by the way, don't you think it's time to stop the scams. It's hard to keep the good publicity we gained from our recent trip to that awful brother of yours with the scams. After all Kevin treats us jawbreakers now."

Eddy: "Shut up will ya? I do hear some of your advices now so stop crying. And besides; it's always good to have some money on your pocked. This scam won't fail and it won't be hurtful at all."

With that quick chat; the two Eds had reached Ed's house and Double D made a suggestion to Eddy: "As you wish Eddy. Oh here we are. Wanna go in the usual way, through Ed's window?"

Eddy: "You said it. Let's move on to the yard". Edd and Eddy begun to move to the backyard; so they could enter to the bedroom of their kind and sometimes stupid friend. But they didn't advanced further from the sidewalk when they saw the door opened and then heard a familiar voice; struggling getting out from the house. It was none other than the spoiled bra... I mean younger sister of Ed; Sarah who now had a better relationship with her brother; but still was bossy around him.

Sarah: "Gnnngh aah. Oh dang it. ED JUST BECAUSE I LIKE YOU MORE NOW; THAT DOESN'T MEAN I WON'T YELL YOU ABOUT STUFF. MOVE THOSE BOXES NOW! Oh hi guys, what's up? If you want Ed he's in his room. Kevin and Jonny are back as well."

Double D: "Sarah; what's happening? What did Ed do again?"

Sarah: "Just a new addiction my brother has. During the grounding time we all passed after we returned from the trip we had; Ed participated and won a competition with a big price. Take a look."

Edd and Eddy looked each other with confusion and took a look inside the window. They saw a mountain of boxes that had filled the house from up and bottom. "Ow what the heck?" they both said in unison.

Double D: "Sarah why did Ed ordered so many boxes? Is he buying too much gravy again?"

Sarah: "Nope; that's his price. Boxes full of cards."

Double D: "Cards? Cards for what?"

Before Sarah could answer, Eddy interfered: "Don't waste any time asking when you can simply see yourself Double D. Lets head in. Bye Sarah."

Sarah: "Oh I'm coming back; I just want to get Jimmy and Nazz here. Today will be a great day for sure."

Edd and Eddy got confused again with what Sarah said. So they headed to the backyard once again; when they heard Ed yelling "THIS TIME; MY JOMBIE-MUSTIC DECK WILL CRUSH YOUR FILTHY DRAGONS." They both looked each other and speeded up.

They reached the backyard with big speed and so Eddy scream: "Hey Lumpy what's goin... AAAAAAAAHHHHHH." An explosion that came out of nowhere scared Eddy and Double D. Eddy from his fear fell back to the ground; taking with him his skinny friend. When the smoke cleared; a fallen to the ground Jonny 2X4 and a standing up Kevin were revealed; with Ed watching. A creature with the shape of a black dragon with red eyes was standing next to Kevin but it faded right away.

Kevin: "Sorry loser; but I told you. My Red Eyes Black Dragon is unstoppable with his full deck. The Elemental Heroes were no match for him."

Jonny 2X4: "Oh Plank, I told you that I should have put my extra deck monsters in my deck. Mixing the Destiny Heroes with the Elemental Heroes was a bad idea."

Ed: "THAT WAS AWESOME GUYS. ME NEXT; ME NEXT!" Jonny was ready to response but the trio heard Edd and Eddy mumbling on the ground and placed their attention to them

Double D: "MY HEAD. WHAT IN THE NAME OF HEAVENS IS HAPPENING HERE?"

Eddy: "WHAT WAS THAT THING? MOMMY; EDDY NEEDS YOU."

Kevin: "Whops. Hahahahahahaha. Sorry dudes for that. Now to the normal stuff: What's happening dork; haven't seen a duel before?"

Double D: "A duel? As in the Middle Ages?"

Ed: "Duel Monsters Double D. It's about a mystic style of battling; with origins from Ancient Egypt and Atlantis; where Pharaohs; wizards and kings used monsters which had hidden destructive powers; capable to destroy the world or to defend it. They were using objects with dark magic to drove out the monsters of today's Duel Monsters from people with dark souls and then placed them into stone tablets. This game has also tie relationships with powerful aliens of outer space and diabolical powers from beyond the universe. THIS IS THE BEST GAME I'VE PLAYED MY WHOLE LIFE GUYS. Oh you should try it."

Everyone were left speechless after the "explanation" from Ed about that game. That until Eddy broke the silence.

Eddy: "You know Ed; those comics you are reading have really burned your brain."

Double D: "Actually Eddy he's talking about Duel Monsters; a popular card game; maybe it's the one Sarah told us earlier."

Sarah had just returned with Ralf; Nazz and Jimmy and responded: "Yup. My brother here is obsessed with it. Though it's a little complicated at first."

Double D: "Indeed it is said that it has strong ties with the Ancient Egypt; since the design of many of these monsters is based in some stone tablets that a man discovered in Ancient Egypt; but the rest is just a rumor. Duel Monsters is a game that includes strategy; team spirit and fun. Though the rules are not that easy."

Jonny 2x4: "When Ed learned about that game two weeks ago, he spent a whole night studying the rules. Then he told it to everyone."

Eddy: "Monobrown has actually studied something? That game must be very good so it could forse Ed to study."

Nazz: "Indeed; it's one of the most popular games in Earth. Companies are depending their whole income to the game; academies have been created in order to create the duelists of tomorrow and it has its own pro league and championships; which the importance of them grows every day. They say the Japanese duelists are the best even though the game is of American design..."

Eddy: "Whoa woah woah. Rewind and repeat. Did you just said Pro League and championships?"

Nazz: "Uuuummm, yes!?"

Eddy: "Like the ones that every sport has? With managers; prizes and endless money?"

Nazz: "Yeah so wha... Oh boy, I shouldn't have said about the pro league." Nazz was right. The phrase "pro league" put Eddy into his usual thoughts and everyone knew that this won't end into a good result.

Kevin: "Oh here it comes. Another Ed business."

Eddy: "Pro league... tournaments... managers... cash! THAT'S IT! Double D; forget what I said earlier; this is way better. Since this game is soo popular and we have people playing it; we will host our own private tournament of the area: The Cul-De-Sac Private Dueling Tournament. With a small fee of 25 cents; everyone from the Cul-De-Sac; Peach Creek; that dirty Lemon Brook and the rest of the area can enter and duel each other."

Kevin: "If you hadn't already notice it; we already doing that for free. So beat it dork." Eddy didn't hesitate though and had already an answer ready.

Eddy: "Yes you are; but for mere entertainment. I'm sure you don't know who's the best duelist in the area. And I'm sure you get always into a fight between us about who is the best around here." Kevin's interest begun to grow; cause for the first time ever Eddy had a very good point.

Eddy: "So tell me Kev. Who is the best? Is it Ed, you, Jonny, Sarah? This tournament will determine who is the strongest duelist in the whole area." Eddy's proposal now was getting temping but Sarah had a question that was critical to the plan's success: "That's good and all but everyone also knows about your character Eddy. So tell me who's gonna guarantee us that you won't do anything to cheat to the tournament?"

Eddy: "Hey I just heard about this card game for the very first time; so I can't play something that I don't know. I'll just be the host. As for the rules; since everyone here is an expert; you and the rest of the duelists that are not dueling during a match will also have the role og the judge. So, you will tell me who's cheating, I will disqualify him and he will pay a fine of 1$. And you must admit all of you; there is no way that anyone will get hurt or scammed. Heck this isn't even a scam; is just an idea."

Everyone were now temped with Eddy's proposal. All of them have been playing Duel Monsters for quite some time. This game had nothing to do with Eddy's shenanigans so the idea of that unofficial tournament was actually pretty good. Heck; some think that this is actually the best idea Eddy had to take money and since everyone now knew about his relationship with his brother; knowing that the money issue was just a way to show his family that he wasn't a failure and of course wanting that crown for themselfs they didn't have anything else to think.

Sarah: "Well in that case; I will crush you all. I will be the Queen of Peach Creek's Duelists."

Nazz: "Please hon. That title will belong to me."

Kevin: "HAH. I want to hear you saying that when I will be on the top, losers."

Jimmy: "King of the Duelists of Peach Creek... Oh the fame! I can feel it flow into my veins."

Jonny 2X4: "Did you heard that Plank? We should start prepare our strategy. The Elemental Heroes won't fail this time."

Rolf: "Even though the parents of the Son of the Shepherd disapproves the whatjamacallit; Rolf will not exclude himself from this call of war. As you use to say: PREPARE TO EAT THE DUST OF ROLF."

Double D: "Wow Rolf; I didn't expect you to play Duel Monsters; yet along to participate in a tournament."

Rolf: "Well even the Son of a Shepherd needs a day off. As for these soul papers with that weird hand television; they make Rolf nostalgic; as it reminds Rolf of his home country. Stories; places; ceremonies. Rolf truly enjoys this game; so Rolf will prove that he is the KING OF THE DUELISTS OF PEACH CREEK.

Ed: "Hey Ralf. Since you will be in the tournament; can I watch over your animals until you come back?" But before Ralf could answer to Ed; Eddy grabbed Ed: "Sorry for that Rolf my boy; Ed was just kidding."

Ed: "BUT EDDY..."

Eddy: "Shut it and tell me what do you think you're doing Lumpy? You will participate in this tournament too; I know this is out of character for you but think about the fun you will have; how many extra jawbreakers you will get."

Ed: "JAWBREAKES. YUM YUM YUM. OKAY EDDY I WILL MAKE YOU PROUD."

Eddy: "Good because I will add some more features so that our big profit will be secure hehehehehehehehehehe."

Double D: "But Eddy you just said..."

Eddy: "it's not about cheating idiot. I said I don't know how to play Drooling Monsters."

Double D: "That's Duel Monsters Eddy. So what are you talking about then?"

Eddy: "Simple. I will do what anyone is doing while they want to watch sports."

Ed: "Drink bear with snacks?"

Eddy: "No you fool. I'll make bets. Lots of bets that will increase our profit for some sweet jawbreakers. But just to be clear: you will also pay the fee so they noone will think that I'm making you a favor or that I'm messing with the duels. So Double D... What do you say old pal?"

Double D: "Of course I will play also Eddy. This will be a great opportunity for me to play my new deck and also enjoy a very good day without anything going wrong. Oh this will be a good example for the neirbourhood kids to learn how to play fair and square; how to think..."

Eddy: "Yeah yeah we got the point sockhead." Eddy now turned his attention into the rest of the kids. "Now everyone. The tournament will be in two days. Until then; be sure to tell everyone you know about the opportunity to become the KING OF PEACH CREEK'S DUELISTS." Then he turned his attention back to his old buddies. "Alright guys. Let's go and make this Dwel Moisters tournament a reality. LET'S GO MAKE SOME POSTERS." Eddy concluded while he run out of Ed's backyard. Ed and Double D followed him.

Double D: "DUEL MONSTERS EDDY."

I know that this fanfic is totally crazy, but I think it will be interesting. Anyway, this will be my writing style for this fanfic, since it doesn't require so much analysis. I will also put the cards that the kids will be using into the storyline as well. Anyway, enjoy this first chapter until the Blader Andreas make his long awaited comeback.

Edit 28/12/2021: I'm making my comeback again; but this time I'm posting a rewrite version of this extra fanfic and possibly I'll be writing this one for a while since my passion for beyblade has been halted for a while. Anyway see you soon.
