It was a chilly Christmas Eve in Puppetland, and the Playhouse was adorned with twinkling lights and festive decorations. Pee-wee enthusiastically gathered baking ingredients in the kitchen, ready for a holiday treat.

Darcie had walked into the kitchen a few moments later, curious as to what Pee-wee was doing.

"It's time to bake some Christmas cookies!" Pee-wee called out with his trademark exuberance.

Grabbing her festive apron, Darcie couldn't hide her excitement. Every year since they had gotten together, she and Pee-wee had baked Christmas cookies together.

"I'm so excited! Christmas cookies!" Darcie exclaimed, wrapping her arms around Pee-wee in a warm hug. The two giggled like schoolchildren, their joy filling the Playhouse with holiday cheer.

"What cookies should we make this year?" Pee-wee asked, curiously. They had made it a habit of changing up what cookies they made each year.

Darcie pondered for a moment before responding. "How about gingerbread cookies? They're so warm and comforting and slightly spiced... it's like all the feelings of Christmas in a cookie."

Pee-wee's eyes widened in delight, "That's a great idea, Darcie! Let's get started!" They quickly got to work, measuring the ingredients and mixing them together. Pee-wee was meticulous in his measurements, double-checking every step to make sure everything was just right. Darcie watched him work with admiration before scooping up the dough and rolling it out onto the floured countertop.

As they worked, the Playhouse filled with the delicious smell of ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The sound of Christmas music played softly in the background, adding to the cozy holiday atmosphere. Pee-wee and Darcie worked together seamlessly, a perfect match in the kitchen.

Before they knew it, the cookies were shaped and ready to be baked. Pee-wee preheated the oven, carefully placing the cookie sheet inside. Darcie watched eagerly as the timer ticked down, the anticipation building with each passing second.

Finally, the timer beeped, and Pee-wee pulled out the fresh tray of gingerbread cookies from the oven. They looked perfect - golden-brown and slightly crispy on the edges, with a soft, chewy center. Darcie clapped her hands in delight, her heart full of warmth and love. "Let's decorate them now!"

Pee-wee smiled, his eyes twinkling with excitement. "Yes, let's add some frosting and sprinkles!"

Giggling, Darcie picked up the piping bag and squirted frosting onto the gingerbread men. Pee-wee took the sprinkles and began to shake them over the frosting, adding an extra touch of sweetness to their holiday creation.

As they worked, their playful banter filled the Playhouse. Pee-wee joked about how he was going to eat all the cookies himself, while Darcie playfully scolded him, telling him to share.

Once they had finished decorating all the cookies, they sat down at the kitchen table to enjoy their creation. Pee-wee popped a cookie into his mouth, savoring the delicious flavor. Darcie giggled, "Be careful, Pee-wee, those are hot!"

Pee-wee grinned back, "I can handle it, Darcie! These are the best gingerbread cookies we've ever made!"

As they enjoyed their cookies, Pee-wee's mind began to wander. He couldn't help but think about Darcie and how lucky he was to have her in his life. He felt a surge of love for her, and he knew that he had made the right choice in asking her to marry him.
