I am not too pleased with this one to be honest, but I don't write male/male too much. It deals with Shiro having constant headaches and suffering PTSD so warnings for both of those things. Canon pairing for Shiro.

It didn't make sense for the headaches to be a constant especially now that Haggar was gone. But it was as if her reminder – the control she once had was something that would always remain over Shiro. The pain was so severe that it made him fall to his knees and he would be about to accept this – accept that she would always have some amount of control over his mind because of everything she had done, but a hand would grasp his. It gave him the courage to stand again, and he gripped it.

"Shiro," Curtis's voice was gentle. "Are you alright?"

"I don't know," The response was automatic but somehow when it came to Curtis, he couldn't say he was okay. "I don't know."

Arms wrapped around Shiro, and he leaned into the embrace, which slowly tightened.

"It's okay," Curtis's soft voice grounded him. "I'll never let you face her alone."

Shiro didn't have the words to explain – to thank Curtis for giving his fear a name and treating it as if they were facing a real battle. A battle he didn't know if they would win or lose but one, he didn't have to fight alone. He wished he could tell Curtis all of this, but the words just wouldn't firm as the ear-splitting pain blinded his vision once more.
