It wasn't all that difficult slipping out of Laura's grip once she'd managed to tug their shared yellow-incased pillow up from its exiled spot somewhere closer to the end of the bed to take her place.

It did take a few attempts to try for just the right blending of ingredients but finally, somehow, she'd managed alright. And even better she'd managed it without setting off the apartment smoke detector.

"Take that Xena." Carmilla sneakers proudly to herself flipping the last of the edible treats onto the divided plates. "And now for the final touch." Carm hummed as she dug out the final piece of the first of her holiday surprises.

"Murder for Christmas." She giggled to herself gathering up the spoils of her early morning efforts to start the small trip back towards her sleeping girlfriend.

"Humm. Cinnamon and chocolate." Laura yawned as Carmilla nudged her way back into their shared bedroom.

"Total yum, right?" the human again vampire snickers as she balances the fully loaded tray a little closer towards the bed. "and even better I can enjoy some too." Carmilla smiles.

Laura isn't about to point out the dark-haired woman's happy purring growing even louder as she sets her offerings in front of the now-awakened blonde sharing her bed.

"Thanks, Carm," Laura whispers reaching up to scratch softly behind her girlfriend's ear then leaning in further to press her lips to Carmilla's parted ones as Carm leans into her touch.

But then Laura visibly hesitates once her clearing gaze falls on just what it was Carmilla brought to her.

"Come on. I know you said no more gingerbread after that business with Mama Kluse, but I got around that." Carmilla explains with another hum of pride as she joins the blonde back in the couple's shared bed. "See?" she prods now nuzzling her chin against Laura's shoulder following the other woman's gaze towards the waiting breakfast plate.

Warmed holiday-shaped pancakes greeted them. Mostly person-shaped outlines complete with strawberry and red colored chocolate syrup added decorations.

"Not really gingerbread, just cinnamon and chocolate blend waffles," Carmilla tells her licking a glob of chocolate syrup from her fingers. "The Bobbsey twins found it for us in an early Christmas present."

Laura smiles in genuine glee at her girlfriend's and their friend's thoughtfulness.

"Breakfast murdering." Laura chuckles picking up one of the warmed-over waffle-shaped persons to hold it out towards her hungrily waiting bedmate. "Best kind of a start to Christmas."
