Chapter 4: Apocalypse in the Dark

The horde of zombies is ravaging the neighborhood and attacking people. The police are trying to help everyone fight off the zombies but the numbers of zombies are too great.

Fires are erupting from cars and said cars are moving on their own. 3 cars even crash into the school as Dave and Ms. Miller are searching for the Chipmunks and Chipettes.

In the school, Dave frantically searches for Alvin, Simon, and Theodore in each classroom and calls their names. Ms. Miller is doing the same, looking for Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor.

"There's no one here!," Dave says frantically after he and Ms. Miller searched each classroom.

"They've got to be here somewhere!," Ms. Miller says. "We need to find them!"

Just as she finishes that sentence, light bulbs start shattering and she looks out one of the broken walls and sees the horde of zombies continuing to wreak havoc.

"We've got to get to them before those zombies do!," Dave says frantically. He then says, "Let's keep looking until we've looked in every square inch of this school."

In the gym, students are cringing in fear as they hear the zombies moan and people screaming as they are attacked. There's also continued sounds of police sirens, parts of buildings collapsing, and glass shattering.

"Just as long as the gym ceiling doesn't collapse, we should be okay for a while," Alvin says.

"I hope you're right," Theodore says to his oldest brother.

Eleanor then says, "I just can't believe a solar eclipse could cause all of this to happen."

Brittany replies, "I know. I also can't believe Alvin was right about something like this."

Simon says, "I know what you mean. I didn't think something like this could happen during a solar eclipse, but I definitely believe it now since we all saw it happen."

Jeanette then says, "I didn't believe it either. It's awful what's going on right now. I can hear police sirens, crashing, people screaming, zombies moaning and walking around, as well as so much stuff breaking. It's really scary right now."

"Don't expect anyone to argue with you there," Simon says back.

In the school, Dave and Ms. Miller looked in the cafeteria and any other room there was in the school.

"Where haven't we looked?," Dave asks Ms. Miller.

"We haven't looked in the gym yet. That must be where they are!," Ms. Miller says.

Dave then exclaims, "Let's go there!"

He and Ms. Miller make a run for it toward the gym. Once there, Dave begins knocking on the door.

Inside the gym, everyone screams when they hear Dave's knocking.

"It might be a zombie!," a student cries out.

"Is anyone there? Please open the door," Dave says from the other side of the door.

"That's Dave!," Theodore exclaims.

"You're right, we need to let him in," Alvin says.

Alvin and Theodore move the items barricading the door out of the way and open the door.

"Dave!," Theodore yells happily before he gives Dave a hug. Dave returns the hug as Ms. Miller comes in as well.

"Ms. Miller!," the Chipettes yell happily before running over to greet her and hug her.

Dave says, "I was so worried about you when I saw what was happening. I can't believe what's going on!"

Alvin replies, "I know. It turns out the story about the eclipse was true."

"I know, but now isn't the time for bragging. We have to barricade this door again," Dave says.

With help, Dave is able to put the barricading items back in place.

"Why is the electricity on here when it's out everywhere else in the school?," Dave asks.

Simon answers, "Mr. Morris said there is a generator that gives the gym power in case the power goes out and we need to come in here for an emergency."

"Why here?," Dave asks.

"The walls are thicker than many other areas of the school," Alvin answers.

Dave responds, "That's a pretty good reason, however we can't stay here forever."

"We know," Simon says.

Theodore then says while shaking in fear, "I hope this ends soon."

"I'm with you there Theodore," Dave responds.

Dave and Ms. Miller huddle with their children to comfort them as other students and school staff cringe in fear at the noises they hear outside.

Dave and Ms. Miller managed to find their respective children before the zombies did. How long can they and everyone else in the school stay in the gym? Please review!
