"Lou….J-Just put the gun down so we can talk, no one has to get hurt here" Ryder pleaded, trying to shield his dogs as much as he could. "I may have lied about almost everything I told you, but you know me better than that" Lou backed off away from the canines and their leader, walking back to the trailer door. Holding the pistol in his right hand as he opened the door of the trailer with his left hand. Within an instant, A dozen law enforcement cats squirmed inside, all with their claws out ready to attack, forming a strong line that separated the two parties.
"So Ryder, what's it going to be, Surrender or should I let my friends here beat all of you into submission" He offered, Ryder didn't want any harm to come to his friends. There was no way out of this, only doing the sensible thing was the best option. Ryder slowly laid on his stomach as the other dogs did the same.
"Good choice" Lou said, motioning his head toward the cats as one by one, each cat moved forward, producing handcuffs. "So, We were right from before. You weren't telling us the whole story, all that about your father and you helping dogs" Ryder looked up at Lou to face him in his eyes.
"That's right, I would know better than to help musty old mutts be treated equally in this county. I have got to admit, I had more plans for all of you. But when Zuma decided to go play detective, I couldn't keep you all fooled for much longer."
"And all that stuff you had us do, that too"
"That's right, Mr. Maple was a thorn in my side. Taking pictures of police to help the dogs get a better idea of where the Sheriff's Department would patrol, and radio antennas to see if there were any weak points. Jello too, He was a weak judge, Giving mutts a 'second chance', he was too soft on canines, so he had to be taken out. Say hi to both of them for me when you're sitting in your own cell" Lou confidently said.
"And Jay, I guess he was just made up"
"Actually, you're looking right at him" Lou revealed. "You…. You're the one who killed that German Shepherd that tried to leave the county" Ryder couldn't believe it, he wasn't just looking at a lie, but also a killer. "Guilty as charged, I made quick work of him. Those dogs that sent out that signal, it was easy to arrest them afterward. So I hatched up a plan to pose as the one who called you out here and make you all do some of my dirty work" He said with a smile, proud of his own actions and his own thinking.
Suddenly, Marshall leapt up from the ground taking everyone, including Ryder and his friends by surprised. Never seeing the cheery Dalmatian this fueled by anger ever before. The large black and white spotted canine lunged at Lou, biting down on his arm that held the gun.
"GO, RUN!" Marshall tried to shout with his teeth still deep into Lou's arm. Without hesitation they all sprang up. The cats tried to hold some down, sinking their talons into them to try and hold them down. However, their momentum was too strong except for Skye and Zuma. Rubble turned back and barreled into the cats causing some fall back against the walls. "GO!" Rubble shouted, seeing both Skye and Zuma free and run out the door. "STUPID DOG!" Lou said, throwing Marshall against the wall who still held on after all this time. The Dalmatian losing his grip and falling down. Picking himself up as he ran out the door after Skye and Rubble. Suddenly a lone gunshot rang out in the woods, a bullet from Lou's gun slamming into Marshall's paw. Causing him to tumble and trip. "MARSHALL!" Skye and Zuma shouted in unison as they saw their friend down.
Marshall twitched on the floor, his blood dripping out onto grass and mixing into the earth below. Zuma ran back, picking Marshall up with his collar as they all ran into the thick of the buses. "GET THEM, NOW!" Lou commanded, seeing other cats chase the three canines into the woods. Lou holstered his pistol in his backside as he looked at his arm, it was bloody from Marshall's bite.
"Sir, What should I do them these two?" A cat asked, as he motioned back to Rumble and Ryder, both in Handcuffs and bruised badly along their bodies. "Bring this one to the Jail back at the station" He said pointed at Ryder.
"You know what to do with the other one" He vaguely said, causing Ryder's heart to drop. "W-What, what are you going to do with him?!" He tried to get an answer, but he was ignored as a dozen cats ushered Ryder to walk a separate way from where Rubble was being taken.
"Sir, The Mixed Breed and the German Shepherd have both been taken into custody" One cat said.
"Good, Go help the other deputies search for those other three that escaped" He ordered, seeing the cat give a salute before running off into the woods as well to help find Skye, Marshall, and Zuma. Lou sighed before reaching into his pocket to grab a cigarette, lighting it up first and he breathed in the fuzz warm gas, blowing out the smoke before turning around and throwing the cigarette back into the trailer. Seeing the end of the cigarette catch a small piece of paper on fire before seeing it slowly spread through out the whole of the trailer and the hut right next to it.
Zuma and Skye panted hard as they raced through the thick brush, Zuma especially as he Marshall hung on his back, dipping in and out on consciousness. Marshall mumbled words as he bounced up and down on the labrador's back. "Hang in there Marshall, Please!" Skye shouted, hoping he was still conscious enough to do at least that, Skye looked at his paw as she ran, steadily dripping with blood.
"This way, I think I see them!" A Deputy said, still on their trail behind them. Trying to evade them as best as they could but to no prevail. After moments running, unfortunately coming to a stop as they came face to face with no where to run. "Dead end, Whewe'we doomed!" Zuma stated, thinking this would be it. "Hey up here!" The two heard a voice from above, looking up to see a female cat and a dog. Both hanging out in the trees. Both dropped down, sensing the urgency. The dog who was a golden retriever nudged the two other dogs, leading them to the thick brush, only to stick his paw under and lift it up, it wasn't really brush.
Leading them through, however the female cat stayed. The golden retriever let down the veil of leaves after all of them were through. The dogs let looked through the leaves to see the female cat on the other side, ruffling up her fur and laying herself down on the grass. "What is she doing?" Skye asked.
"Shhhh" The golden retriever silenced, after which the deputies came rushing in. Only them being faced with a female cat, laying on the ground, fake crying. "Ma'am, Are you okay?" One deputy asked. "I-I was just hiking, and t-two dogs attacked me, They ran back that way!" She said, pointed back the way the cats came. "Damn, we must have missed them, We'll get them ma'am!" The deputy responded as the cats turned back, running back the way they came.
As soon as they vanished back the way they came from, the female cat turned from cries to laughter. "Dumbasses" She stated as she got back up, dusting herself off from the dirt that stuck to her. "Nice work" The golden retriever said, complimenting the feline as he lifted the fake brush. "This cat didn't get a degree in performing arts for nothing" She flaunted, ducking under the brush. "Thanks for the save, but our friend needs help, he's been shot" Skye pointed out to the wounded Dalmatian on Zuma's back.
"Ah man that looks bad, Cmon follow us back to the river" The golden retriever said.
"The Wivew, how is that going to help dude?" Zuma asked, trying to stay behind the two as they ran. "You really don't know huh?" He asked. After a good distance of running, They all reached down to the river, which was quite the sight to behold, tens of huts and makeshift lodges, there were many dogs on the edges of the river. Drinking and taking bathes in the wide river, pups running all across having fun with kid game, not being bothered back the circumstances of how dogs are treated out.
"Wow, So many dogs here" Skye stated, taking it all in as they down to the huts, coming closer to see cats as well, mixed in with the dogs. It was a mix of both canines and felines, perfect harmony. The golden retriever eventually stopping abruptly at a small hut with a red cross on it, painted lazily right on the door with a small brush. "Doc, Doc open up, Emergency!" The Golden Retriever shouted, the door swinging open to see a male cat with brown and black stipes. "What's wro-Oh, Well don't just stand there, cmon in!" The cat stopped in the middle of his words as he saw the bleeding Marshall, stepping aside letting them come inside.
Lou grunted, visibly agitated as he pulled in front of a tall building, His arm wrapped in white bandages that parts were stained with light red from the Dalmatian's liberating bite. Lou stopped his black muscle car, turning off the engine as he stepped out and walked into the base of the building. He wore new clothing, styled in his dark jeans and black jacket, tinted orange aviators covered his eyes as he walked in, being greeted by the receptionist. "Hey Lou, He is in his office, what happened to your arm?" She asked.
"Oh I just had an accident, nothing too serious" He said, stepping into the elevator to let it carry him up. His father must be someone important as he clicked the top button that lit up in an instant, the highest floor of the entire building. After feeling his body rise to the top, the doors separated, stepping out into a lone long hallway lined with statues and freshly watered plants. Lou stopped at the door at the end, taking a deep breath before opening it.
The Office was very nicely furnished, books lined every shelf and expensive wines out in the open. At the end of the Office was a desk right up against a line of very large windows. An office chair sat turned away from the wall, unable to see who it was. However, the person in the chair knew exactly who it was by some feeling. "Lou, Good to see you" The person said. "Good to see you too Dad" Lou replied as he stepped closer, the swivel chair turned around to reveal a weird fact about his father, it was a cat just all the others. A pure brown cat with dashes of grey patches all over him. "So, is it all done?" The feline asked.
"Not yet, About 3 escaped, Uncle Reno has the German Shepherd and mongrel back at the Station"
"Uh huh, and your arm?" He motioned.
"Its how the 3 got away, I have some deputies looking for them though, They'll come up soon" Lou assured. "Alright, Just making sure you're okay, Don't want you getting hurt" He assured to him, a true emphasis that he cares about his 'son'.
"I know dad, Soon the plan will work out in the end like I said"
"I don't doubt it, you're a smart kid, But you don't know Paw Patrol. If at least one of them is out there, they'll find a way to mess up everything, Make sure they're found as soon as possible" He pressured. "I know, I'm on it"
