Yeah I had to get to the end of 2023 to finally right something here. Just to make it clear; I don't swear that I'll upload at a regular pace, since I'm not as hyped as I was about righting stories. But I'm righting chapters for stories I want to post here at notebooks, so when I want to upload some stories from those notebooks here, I'll just have to copypaste them here. Anyway here's a chapter from the Yu-Gi-Oh! experience of the Eds.

Based upon the mentioned shows and game, I do not make any profit from this story!

The main street of Peach Creek was now filled with numerous handmade posters; created by none other than the Ed gang itself. The context of this poster now is very interesting, not only for the usual kids' gang of the well-known Cul-De-Sac; but for every kid and teenager that was passing by the street.

"Are you a duelist in this era? You claim to be the best of all in the era but always someone says the opposite? Then come to the Cul-De-Sac of Peach Creek and prove who is the best by becoming the King of Peach Creek's Duelists. Sign up at the Cul-De-Sac with an entrance fee of 75 cents only. Begins at Friday".

That was the poster saying and boy the people were interest. That's why there was a solid amount of people outside this crazy neighborhood; all of them wanting to participate to this new tournament. The line that was created consists the usual suspects, the kids of the Cul-De-Sac and for the first time, kids and teenagers that weren't a part of the gang or the city.

The line ended at Double D's house, in a stand with a sign that writes "Registrations here" and in the two small columns were the poster. "Thank you for your registration. See you on Friday at 10 in the morning. The tournament will be held at the forest, in a special era" said Double D as he was greeting a kid.

After some time, only Kevin, Ralf and Jonny had left in the line. Priority was given to those who weren't from the era, that's why they were the last ones. "Finally, the wait is over. So we have to duel all of those people? Hey Double D, tell me at least that this will be quick. And what are the rules again?" Kevin said.

Double D who was in charge of the application forms gave the answer. "I'm afraid you'll have to wait until Friday about the rules Kevin. We needed to short out how many are going to participate. Anyway, write your name in this paper and I'll take a picture of you as well so we'll know who you are exactly."

Jonny2x4 was the next one behind Kevin and when he saw the entrance fee and the cost of it he was surprised for some reason. "75 cents for entrance? Are you nuts?"

Ralf; the last one in line and behind Jonny wasn't surprised and took the liberty of stating the obvious. "Clueless melonheaded Jonny with the fantasy of the Gods; it is the short-tempered in love with the money Ed-boy who created this tournament. He's not aware of the traditional trades of Ralf's country or this "free" as you say entrance. Where are the rest Ed boys anyway?"

Double D with the usual employee smile he has when he's a part of a scam gave the answer. "Inside. Ed is building a new deck as he says and Eddy is counting the money so far. Also, he wanted the entrance fee being 1 dollar but I convinced him to make a cut. Small one indeed, but important nonetheless". Kevin just sighed; paid the entrance fee and said "Just give me a pen so we can get over it."

It was night at the Cul-De-Sac. The Ed boys were making the preparations for Eddy's newest idea at Ed's backyard and the profit this time was tremendous, surpassing the other failed attempts of the past scams. Ed and Double D were also creating their decks, with the lovable idiot gladly helping his smart friend to upgrade his freshly constructed deck.

Eddy has done counting the money and his excitement couldn't be hidden. "This is my best scam yet. No, my best idea lumpy. Look how many quarters are in the jar. From 32 duelists we've got 24 goddam dollars. 24 DOLLARS. Your Doop Monsters came right in time Ed. Your weird hobbies actually paid off."

Double D sighed once again from the mispronunciation from the game but he was also excited from the tournament. "Its Duel Mon… Oh never mind. But yeah Ed, this is the first time that everyone can related to one of your hobbies. And it's a pretty interesting and exciting game I might add. And those Duel Disks with this exceptional solid vision system are just marvelous. The potential they have for the future generations and us is infinite. Just look the professional programming, this out of the world technological design, this…"

Eddy could never handle Double D's babbling so of course he had to cut him off. "Alright, alright we got it God damnit, don't fall in love with this thing too. Anyway, sock head, when you will not play you will be the booker of the tournament bets. Also lumpy, bring snacks. A lot of snacks and before you say anything Double D, I will be generous and won't be selling most of them. I don't want any uprising and losing this gold profit heheheh."

Double D was surprised from this sudden decision but he quickly understood that has some logic since it's a scam furthermore. "Nice thinking about the snack thing Eddy but, me a booker? I don't know the first thing about bets." Eddy quickly calmed him down. "Don't worry, I'll be guiding you. My brother is a mthfckr useless jerk, but at least watching him betting in every single sports event he watched will come in handy now."

"Um Eddy. How many gravies and butter toasts we need for snacks?" was Ed's answer. Of course; it would be since this is Ed we're talking about. Eddy with his usual temper responded saying "I MEANT REAL SNACKS LUMPY. NOT ONLY THOSE. You know sandwiches, chips, cereals etc. Don't worry I'll bring some from my emergency provisions as well."

"You know this spell card Eddy?" Ed said; spotting a reference to his new favorite game; something that Eddy quickly stated the obvious. "What NO YOU IDIOT. Don't you remember? My hidden supplies for when the crowd could have gone wild and we have to hide somewhere. We used it when you went berserk dressed as a monster and you ruined my bed as well."

"… Not a clue Eddy".

Eddy slapped his forehead and said "Idiot. Anyways there's a card like that in your game? Spell card? It sounds too nerdy for me". Eddy then got up and went to look at some cards that Ed had stashed to his room. He got them from the window they usually he and Double D visit their dear old friend; whom they considered a brother now. Yes, his room was that filled with cards.

"Jeez lumpy, how many cards do you have? You can't even sleep in there" commented Eddy something it was true. After some effort; he managed to find this card, but in the meantime, he earned some bruises. "Huh what are the odds. There actually is a card in there" Eddy said in total surprise but now there was another matter in place.

"So, did you two have your decks ready for action? I hope that both of you have some nice and powerful decks so you can go well in the tournament and have some successful betting activity heheheh. Man, I'm so clever and to imagine that I had a less successful idea this morning. This card game is truly a gold mine". Ed was the first to speak of course. "Sure did Eddy. I have some great cards that are awesome. Oh boy oh boy oh boy, Ed can't wait."

Of course, it was Double D's turn now and pointing out some basic points it was time to mumble as usually. "You know Eddy, it's not all about power in this game, since you need to have a good balance of monsters, spells and trap cards so you can implement a variety of strategies and gain the upper hand early on. For example, I have a Metalfoes deck that through Pendulum Summon, I can…" Edd originally said, only to be interrupted by Eddy, who furious said "ENOUGH ALREADY! Geez, can you once say just a simple yes or no?". Double D said "yes" to troll Eddy, who had an irritated expression on his face. But after a split second, both of them laughed, showing that they are now enjoying their tiny arguments, since it was just on friendly terms.

"Anyway Sockhead" Eddy begun to say, with curiosity all written to his face "everyone seems to enjoy that game. How about you show me how we play, ummm, Duel Monsters… yeah Duel Monsters". Ed stepped in to begin explaining but Eddy stopped him with his hand, before he could speak. "You sit down you loveable oaf. Let Double D do the talking and you can step in when you have something to add". Ed sat down and nodded positively and Double D spoke to Eddy before he begins explaining the rules. "I warn you Eddy, you might get confused in the end." "I'm not some sort of an idiot sockhead. Start talking now." "Very well Eddy" Edd said and begun to explain the simple rules of the game first.

Meanwhile, as Double D is explaining Duel Monsters to Eddy, the rest of the Cul De Sac is preparing for the local tournament. Our usual cast are making the last adjustments to their decks, so that they can claim the title of the King of Peach Creek's Duelists.

Johnny takes advises from Plank so that his Elemental Hero deck can stand at the very top. "Those new cards Plank are awesome. And those great strategies you told me are so heroic that even Jaden Yuki will be jealous." He looked at Plank and asked him what he said. "What do you mean I don't stand a chance against him? Boy, you sure know how to ruin the mood pal. And don't say that you are preparing me for my defeat. I'll be the one to take that crown for us."

Kevin, who many believe that he could be in the final alongside Ed of all people, is finishing the final adjustments to his Red Eyes deck. "Hah those losers will eat my dust big time. Nothing can beat a good old Dragon deck, especially when the main monster is the Red Eyes Black Dragon. I'll be King in no time".

Rolf, a kid you'd believe that he would never play in this kind of a game, is lucky since for the rest of the summer, one of his many cousins will work at the farm, so he could have more time to rest for the hard winter. Though he will take the opportunity to have some fun of the West and try to take a king's crown for himself. "Rolf will honor his ancestors in this noble fight whatever the cost may be. Glory to King Rolf the First" he shouted, holding his deck towards to the roof of his room. His ace monster is visible at the top. A very well known card, a Level 8 Warrior type Ritual monster.

Nazz has already finalized her deck, a Harpie Lady one with some upgraded cards. "Time to show to those boys what a woman's touch can really do. They say King, I say Nazz, Queen of Peach Creek's Duelists." The same goes with Sarah, who has a more aggressive deck though, a Lunalight Deck to be precise. "There's no way I can lose. All will bow down to the greatest female duelist that ever stepped on the Earth. ME!"

Lastly, Jimmy may have a, some sort of more childish deck, but surely is tricky and powerful. "Ah my dear Frightfur monsters, Friday will be the day that the glory will shine upon us and our rightfully place shall be ours. Prince Jimmy shall finally become a King!" said with a sparkling face and smile.

"WHAT THE HECK IS ALL OF THAT? FUSION, SYNCRO, XYZ, PENDULUM, LINK, RITUAL AND SO MANY EFFECTS, SPELLS AND TRAP CARDS? IT DRIVES YOU NUTS! HOW DOES LUMPY EVEN PLAY THIS GAME?" Eddy yelled. He learned about the 60card limit for decks, turn changes, life points and all the other basics. But the way this game is played is driving him crazy. "Don't worry Eddy. All you have to do is to believe in the Heart of the Cards like I do" said Ed, but that made Eddy more furious. "CARDS DON'T HAVE A HEART YOU IDIOT! IT'S JUST A PIECE OF PAPER! AND DON'T TELL ME THAT THEY ARE TRAPPED SPIRITS CAUSE I'M GOING TO BURN YOU USING THESE TO LIT UP THE FIRE!"

Ed madly left the room saying "You'll see tomorrow Eddy" with Double D laughing. "Oh come on Eddy, let him believe what he wants. Anyway if you memorize your cards with the time you spent playing them, you'll be safe. You don't need to remember all the cards."

"Yeah, yeah whatever you say. Lets go to sleep, tomorrow we have to finalize everything for the tournament" Eddy said. But they didn't realize that this was still a scam and the official companies are already aware of this illegal tournament and especially Industrial Illusions and Kaiba Corp. At California, an employee of I2 has just entered the president's office, a man wearing a red suit and has long silver hair that covers his left eye, Maximillion Pegasus, creator of Duel Monsters. The man was his chief card designer Franz, who approached Pegasus desk, interrupting him from reading a comic book.

"Well Mr. Franz you said that you have something you want to tell me about" Pegasus told to his chief card designer. "Yes, her Pegasus. I received a letter today from a game shop owner at Peach Creek of Canada. Apparently, some kids are making an unofficial tournament in order to crown the King of Peach Creek's Duelists."

"So, what's wrong with that? Duel Monsters is a game for everyone and if some kids want to make their own local competition so they can have fun, so be it. It doesn't have to be the pro circuit or an event of our own to be a tournament" was Pegasus's answer to his employee, who sure is a great card designer, but some times he was out of the point as of how the game should be played.

"Yes, I'm aware of that her Pegasus, but you should see the poster those kids made for their tournament. The owner has send us that as well" Franz added and then he handed over the poster that the Eds had made for their tournament. Pegasus then took it and read it, where he found something surprising. "An entrance fee? Yes, I see now the problem. It should have been a free to fun challenge, but someone is just being greedy it seems. Thank you, Franz, I will send Chumley to Peach Creek to clear things up. You can go back to your work now".

Franz nodded and left the office, while Pegasus took another look at the poster and got lost at his thoughts. "Oh my I'm sure that neither Kaiba boy will let this pass that easily, so I should warn Chumley boy as well. But certainly this tournament is going to be very interesting."

With 2023 ending I just wanna wish you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. And also I want to express my condolences to Kazuki Takahashi's family for his death at the summer of 2022. This man created an important part of my childhood and made happy many kids throughout the world. The way of his passing though tragic and sad, honors him since he tried to save someone's life.
