Chapter 11

Kan Sekijiro has always viewed his fellow U.A. facility member Shota Aizawa with a lot of respect.

They are both Pro Heroes that aren't as well known in the spotlight. Both well respected homeroom teachers of the Department of Heroes in U.A. High School. While he did have a good and somewhat friendly relationship with his colleague, he did view him as some sort of revival. Most members of U.A. know of this rivalry but none really pay any mind to it as it didn't really amount to anything negative between the two nor the students they were handling. If anything it made Kan more motivated to train his students more seriously.

So when had thought of a new way to test the students of their respective class against one another, he was quite certain that he didn't need to do much in order to convince Shota to agree with him.

"A new type of trial?" Shota looked at Kan whom was sitting right across him on another sofa chair.

Both homeroom teachers were currently inside one of UA's conference rooms which they borrowed.

"Yes." Kan nodded.

"You want to pit your students of class 1-B against my students of Class 1-A?" Shota asked for a confirmation as he drank tea inside a disposable cup.

"That's right Aizawa." Kan took a sip from his own tea before reaching over to Shota in order to hand him something. "Take a look at this."

"Hmm?" Aizawa reached towards the object in question and grabbed it. "A folder?"

"I was thinking that it would much easier to understand if I wrote it down instead of just relying on my spoken words."

"You're well prepared." Shota sounded slightly impressed. He had always admired hard work whether it was his own, his fellow teachers, his students, and his fellow heroes.

Shota opened the folder which contained a document that consisted of several pages. The very first page was just a title of some sort with Kan's full name and designation on the lower left. Just by reading the title alone had already caught Shota's full attention. He flipped to the next page and began reading the contents of the said document.

"You're very serious about this." Aizawa let out a rare smirk in his amusement. He turned the document on a certain page and faced it towards Kan. "You even proposed a map or terrain layout."

"Well." Kan faked a cough as he felt a bit embarrassed that his excitement was obvious to Shota just by reading his document alone. "I was very motivated and couldn't help myself."

Shota then continued to read the document in complete silence for a few minutes. Turning back to certain pages to reread them.

A few more minutes had passed before Shota replaced the document back to its folder and closed it.

"Well?" Kan asked curious as to what his fellow homeroom teacher's opinion on his plan.

"Very interesting." Shota nodded taking another sip from his now cold tea making him grimace due to its lack of warmth. "Very interesting indeed. I can understand what you're trying to do and I can't lie, I do see its merits."

"Then you agree?"

"Me agreeing isn't really the problem here Sekijiro." Shota finished his tea and threw at a trash bin with slightly aggresive undertone. "The only way we can carry this out properly is for it to be implemented during the subject of Foundational Hero Studies. That is a class that we both do not handle."

"I know this." Kan nodded and turned the expression on his face as serious as he could. "We need to convince All Might as he is the one handling it."

"Not just him." Aizawa shook his head. "We also need to talk to Principal Nezu and convince him of this plan's usefulness regarding the students' growth."

"I had already scheduled a meeting with Principal Nezu after today's dismissal."

"..." Shota raised a brow at Kan without saying anything in response.

"..."

"..Hahaha!" Shota tilted his head backwards as he let out a laugh. Amused at the situation at hand. "It seems you've already thought everything out have you?"

"Ofcourse." Kan smirked.

"Very well." Shota gave a smirk himself. "I'll try to make this plan of yours come into fruition."

Both homeroom teachers stood up and shook each others hand in agreement.

In another conference room was Toshinori Yagi along with Shizu Delta chatting as they ate lunch.

Well, it was more like he was doing most of the chatting.

As soon as the school bell rang signaling for the start of lunch, Toshinori grabbed his packed lunchboxes and went to an unoccupied conference room. He sent a message to Shizu to go to the said conference room and to bring her lunch.

While he understood that having the girl spend lunch with her classmates was good in order to form a bond with them, he couldn't help but feel concerned as to whether the girl was doing well in her class so far and if she was being treated kindly by her fellow classmates. So he figured that he might as well eat lunch together with Shizu in order to have a chat with her since it's just the first day of school. After this, he would make Shizu spend as much time with her classmates so that she could finally make some friends.

Plus, He doesn't try to hide it or anything, Toshinori Yagi does indeed enjoy spending some time with Shizu.

"So how's your class been going so far?" Toshinori asked after chewing his food and swallowing it. Despite him being curios, he would never show bad eating manners especially with Shizu present.

"...Good." Shizu nodded before scooping a spoonful of food into her mouth.

"That's very good to hear." Even though the response was short, Toshinori is already used to it and did even find it somewhat endearing.

"Did any of you classmates approach and speak to you?"

"...Some of them did." Shizu replied. "There was a girl named Kyoka Jiro who hit a boy named Minoru Mineta when he approached me."

"Eh?" Toshinori stopped eating as he looked at her confused. "Why?"

"...I don't know." Shizu shooked her head before taking a big sip of her smoothie. "She smacked him over the head and yelled pervert."

"Hmm."

'I might to keep an eye on that boy.' Toshinori thought.

A few more minutes had passed as both kept eating and chatting. With Toshinori doing most of the talking and Shizu replying with just a select few words. Then Shizu looked down at her now empty lunchbox and felt sad. Despite no noticeable changes could be seen in her expression, Toshinori could tell that the girl was disappointed. It was here that Toshinori pulled out another lunchbox that he had kept hidden.

"Here." Toshinori reached out and placed the lunchbox on top of the table in front of Shizu.

"...Oohh." Shizu looked at the offered luncbox and Toshinori could swear that he saw some subtle sparkles of light in her eyes.

"I expected that you want more, so I brought some extra!" Toshinori grinned amusedly at the girl opening the given lunchbox without any hesitation.

"Mm mm~" Shizu nodded as she excitedly looked at the delicious contents of said lunch. "Thank you Toshinori."

Toshinori felt so happy and elated at the small thanks the girl had given. He was glad that he ended up teaching himself how to cook in the past as he lived alone.

"So anything else intersting happened in your classes?" Toshinori had already finished his lunch and had cleaned up. He was just content with just watching the girl enjoy her lunch.

"...Hm." Shizu tilted her head in thought. "I broke something."

"I'm sorry what now?"

By the time of the first school day's dismissal, Toshinori had messaged Shizu that she could wait for him at a the conference room form before. This was to ensure that he could avoid any rumors. If All Might was seen with Shizu, the students and some of the faculty members may think that he was guilty of favoritism. Plus the fact that he was the guardian of Shizu Delta wasn't a publicly well-known fact. So in order to avoid any troubles for him and Shizu, he had decided that they should go home seperately. Or at the very least leave the school in a discreet manner.

Due to her now being a student of UA High School, Toshinori had convince the Police Force to give the girl some leeway in regards to her leaving the school grounds on her own. Toshinori had argued that in order for Shizu to grow as a normal person, she must form some friendship with her classmates or at the very least some sense of camaraderie with them. After some back and forth negotiations, the Police Force has been convinced as long as some additional conitions can be followed.

One, Shizu Delta may be allowed to leave school grounds without Toshinori Yagi as long as he had given permission and her desitination was given to him.

Second, before Toshinori could give permission he must notify Tsukauchi. If Tsukauchi is unavailable, then one member of the Police Force aware of Marionette's situation must be contacted.

Third, Shizu Delta can only be away from Toshinori Yagi within an allowed distance. Said distance will be monitored via her tracker necklace.

Fourth, as much as possible there would be an undercover agent from the Police Force whom will keep surveillance until Toshinori Yagi have arrived where Shizu Delta was.

So many conditions, but Toshinori could understand the Police Force wariness about leaving Shizu by herself.

Thus he accepted the said conditions just so Shizu could enjoy her youth and the Police Force could breath somewhat easy regarding matter.

He waited for a long while with Shizu before he decided that it was finally alright for them to go home. There shouldn't be many students left inside the school grounds by now and they would leaving not through the school's main gate anyway.

Just as he was about to stand up and call Shizu, some knocks could be heard coming from the door to the conference room.

There should only be a select few who knew whom was currently occupying the said conference room. So whoever was knocking Toshinori had deduced that they would be someone aware of his situation with Shizu Delta.

Even still, some caution should be practiced.

"Who's there?" He called out.

"It's me, Shota Aizawa." The voice from behind the door answered.

"Aizawa?" Toshinori was confused as he didn't really schedule for a meeting with his colleague and the last time they spoke was earlier in the day when he chastise Aizawa for lying about expelling some students if they were to perform poorly on his Quirk Apprehension Test.

Toshinori walked up to the door to unlock and open it a slow and careful manner as he didn't want the interior of the conference room to be seen if someone happened to pass by.

"Do you need me for something?" Toshinori's tone was cautious and Aizawa couldn't really blame the man for being wary.

"That is indeed the case."

Aizawa nodded. His sight then shifted towards the interior of the room where he saw Shizu Delta sitting on one of the sofa chairs reading a book in complete silence.

A bead of sweat formed on the side of his face. It still felt surreal to him that the exceptionally skilled and equally deadly Marionette of the Police Force was just a small girl.
Even more surreal to him was the face that the said lethal agent was a student of UA High School. And to be more precise, a student of his class.

"We need to talk to you for a moment." Aizawa declared as he looked back to Toshinori.

"We?" Toshinori was confused as he couldn't see anyone with Aizawa.

"That's right." Aizawa nodded. "Sekijiro is currently in Principal Nezu's office. We need to discuss something with you if you don't mind."

Afterword

It's been such a long time huh?

Im really sorry.

I've been struggling with depression for such a long time now. No I didn't get my heart broken by someone or anything like that. It's just that I felt so worthless. I felt like all I was was some sort of android whose job was just to go about their daily life.

Wake up.

Go to work.

Sleep.

Rinse and repeat.

I felt like this was all I amounted to and it ruined me. I felt so worthless and useless that I couldn't make myself do anything. The things that I loved before became things that I loathed to do.

Don't get me wrong, I do love my job. Especially the people at my work as they are all kind and always their to help me if I was struggling work-wise. It's just that I had no more time. As much as I would like to write or draw, I couldn't. I would go home from work tired and without much free time. I didn't have the energy to do much so I just opted to play some games. However, even that became a struggle.

It became so bad that there were times were I seriously considered ***** myself.

I felt like a doll whose only purpose was to work till I broke.

I spoke to some people about this and they gave me some advice. I talked to the people at work and they got worried and have some time off which I accepted.

This afterword is becoming long so I would just have to cut it short.

I took a break in order to reset myself. I even scheduled some appointments with a therapist so that I could have some professional help. It took a really long while till I felt better.

I've been starting to draw more again.

And I've also started to begin writing again.

Talking with my family and friends really helped a lot too..

Anyways, this is the reason why you've seen this story get an update after such a long time.

Thank you all for being so patient.

Sorry for the short chapter.

The next chapter should be longer.
