Ember woke up bright and early, before any of the other lost boys. She struggled to get any sleep; the butterflies in her stomach were from dreaming of what it would be like to meet her mother. She even once begged Peter to let her find her mother sooner, although he didn't take kindly to her asking. He allowed her to see what her mother was doing through a magical portal that he had conjured. But soon, as she saw that Regina had adopted Henry, a small anger raged within her heart, establishing that Neverland was her home.

Slowly, Ember collected her dagger, which rested on the side of her bed. Although she could use magic, she didn't want to rely on it, especially since her magic was unpredictable and sometimes didn't work. She also needed to be ready in case any fights broke out on the island or if the island tried to attack.

Enjoying the breeze, she started tucking into breakfast. She was looking forward to the drama that would at least unfold today. After spending a while in Neverland, she had developed a love for playing tricks and games.

It didn't take long for Peter, who seemed to have not slept, to join her. His demeanour indicated that he was up to some plan. "I've got a job for you," Peter explained. "I need you to watch over Henry while I'm away." He instructed.

"Why can't Felix do this?" Ember wondered. "I don't want to babysit anyone".

"I can't ask Felix; he'll scare the boy, and that will mess up my plan. And I never fail."

"Fine as long as he doesn't ask too many questions" Ember agreed, finishing her breakfast.

"Great! I'll see you later" Peter smirked before disappearing into the jungle to attend to his business.

A couple of hours later, Felix had taken the lost boys to fulfill the orders set by Peter. Ember was left to surprise Henry much to the dismay of Felix, who likes to be top boy in Peter's eyes so that he can please him. This annoys Ember to no end because he throws whoever gets in his way into the wrath of Peter. She had been unlucky to trust Felix in the early years of being in Neverland and tries to avoid him whenever she can. "Hey Pipsqueak, are you ready for an adventure?" Ember wonders as Henry stirs from his sleep.

"Where is everyone?" He wondered, dusting himself off and getting up from the ground.

"Seeing as the others are familiar with Neverland, they went on a dangerous adventure." Ember lied. "And while Peter is overseeing the running of the island, I thought we would see why you're important to Neverland and Peter." Ember explained, leading Henry into the darkest part of the jungle. "Stick close to me."

After a while, they came to the heart of Neverland, which still possessed the purest form of magic. It hadn't been corrupted yet, unlike the rest of the island, whose leaves were bright green, pulsing with magic. This had been one of the places that Peter had first shown her, and she was sure that it would persuade Henry to start enjoying his time on Neverland or at least see the bright side in things. "What is this place?" Henry wondered, glancing at the mysterious surroundings.

"This is the center of Neverland," Ember explained. "If you want, you can skim stones over the water, and the water glows in different colors."

"Really?" Henry wondered, his eyes lit up with glee as he picked up a nearby rock and threw it at the water. The stone danced across the water, changing color to color. It was nothing that Henry had seen before. He didn't like magic much, but this he could consider as being cool.

Ember and Henry spent most of the morning throwing stones at the water. Only stopping to eat lunch and take a break. Ember hated to admit that she was enjoying herself. It made a change from moving at a fast pace, instead of fighting all the time. Carefully, she plucked an apple off the tree and began tucking into it. The sweeter the better; apples were her favorite food. She had always enjoyed the taste of them. "Would you like one, Pipsqueak?" Ember offered Henry.

"No thanks my family have a history with them" Henry refused expressing the horror at the sight of them.

"Suit yourself" Ember smirked with glee that she had made Henry concerned she knew how Apple's had nearly killed him once and she could help but feel a small warmth at the idea of it if it wasn't for Peter she would have taken great joy in killing him there and then.

After finishing lunch Ember decided to collect some berries for a snack for later she had a sneaky suspicion that she would have no time to eat dinner later. Meanwhile Henry who enjoyed the place was getting restless and wanted to return to camp his fear was that his family wouldn't be able to find him. "If you don't mind can we return I wouldn't want my family to not be able to find me" Henry wondered finishing some berries that Ember had thrown him.

"I don't want to dash your hopes Henry but all the boys who come here their family never come for them Neverland is their home as it's yours now" Ember explained tying shut her draw string bag. "But I suppose if it will make you feel better we can head back" Ember agreed collecting her stuff and slowly, walking back through the jungle with Henry in front of her.

"Thanks for today!" Henry smiled, it was fun.

"No problem I just wanted you to see the fun side of Neverland and to see the magic with your own eyes you must be special if Peter brought you here" Ember tried to tempt Henry.

"You know you look familiar have I ever seen you before?" Henry wondered as they reached camp.

"I definitely think not this is the first time I've met you" Ember lied as she approached her tent setting down the bag of wild berries. Suddenly, the lost boys ventured back carrying lots of fire wood and other things they had collected whilst roaming the jungle.
