Ben met back up with his guild mates who were preparing to return to Magnolia. They return after finishing their business here. The airship flew at high speed and they made it back to Magnolia in a hour.
Nothing was happening so they all returned to their homes. The next day, everything goes as usual. Mages are gathering in the guild, taking jobs, training or just lazying around somewhere.
But Ben didn't do either of those things today, he went on a date with Mira. He didn't even bring Bella with him because he wanted some alone time with Mira. Bella is currently training with Wendy, Carla, Elfman and Lisanna.
Ben and Mira walk around the bustling town. The town had changed significantly over the last 3 years. It had developed so much after Ben became Fairy Tail's guild master. He has affected the town one way or another.
The Anima plan had affected the whole town because it increased the Ethernano there. It made the environment a lot better than before. The air and water became fresher, the ground became more fertile and the plants, animals and humans became a lot healthier.
But the biggest change Ben made was his car company. It increased the town's income while providing them with more employment opportunities. Almost all of the employees in Ben's company are the town's residents, that's why the townsfolk are happy because he gave them a job while also providing jobs for Fairy Tail mages.
Now, whenever Ben walks around the town, people happily greet him. They call him Boss, Young Master, Sir Wizard, etc. Some people even still call him guild master even though he has retired from that position.
Mira was also recognized as she was Ben's girlfriend. Many young ladies envy her but they know they can't replace her. Not only is she one of the prettiest female mages, she had been with Ben for a long time.
"This doesn't feel like a date at all. Not even the town's mayor will be watched and greeted like this when he walks around the town. They even give us free stuff and refuse our payment." Ben said.
Mira laughed a little.
"But it feels nice, doesn't it? We are like celebrities. Also, I like this situation because it means that people recognize our hard work." She said.
"Yeah, but this is a date, it's supposed to just be the two of us enjoying our time together." Ben replied.
"But we enjoy this, so there's nothing wrong with it." Mira told him.
"Well, that's true, but that's not what I mean. Whatever, let's go to a restaurant because I'm hungry. All this kindness is exhausting and making my stomach empty." Ben sighed.
Mira laughed as they walk to a restaurant. This was the restaurant they went to when Ben asked Mira to be his girlfriend. They were regular customers here because the food was really good.
"Eh, wasn't this the table we were at last time?" Mira asked, realizing this table was the one they were seated at on their first date.
"Ooh, what a coincidence. We never got this table again since that time even though we came back here many times." Ben said.
"Fufufu, it must be a good day." Mira said happily.
"I'm sure it is." Ben replied.
They order some food and drinks before talking while waiting for the food to come. Then they eat after their food came and they really enjoy their time there. Suddenly, everything became dark even though it was the middle of the day.
"What just happened?" Mira asked, becoming alert and looking around.
"Calm down. I think they're just lowering the curtains and turning the lamp off." Ben said while in the dark.
"Really? But why?" Mira questioned in confusion.
"Because of this." Ben answered, flicking his fingers.
Many dim light spots suddenly appear around them and the other tables have vanished. It looks like they are surrounded by fireflies and it's really beautiful. Mira tried to touch a light spot and could feel that it's Ben's magic.
So she looks at Ben but he had disappeared from his spot. Then she saw him in the middle of the room with many 'fireflies' around him. The fireflies move and create a path between Ben and Mira while shoving her to move forward.
Mira smiles as she walks forward and when she stood in front of him, Ben knelled down. Many fireflies gather on his palm and then they disappear. They were replaced by a small golden box and Ben opened it, showing it's content to Mira.
"Mira, will you marry me?" Ben asked as a pair of silver rings shine inside the box.
Mira covered her mouth with her hands and tears flow down her cheeks. She sees Ben smiling widely before she nodded while smiling too. Ben pulls her left hand forward and put the smaller silver ring on her middle finger as it is a engagement ring.
She wants to hug him, but she knows that she needs to do something first. So Mira took the bigger ring and did the same thing to Ben. Only after doing it did Mira jump to hug Ben tightly while crying happily.
Ben hugged her back and the curtains rise. Many people were clapping while standing around the room. Ben's and Mira's siblings were there as well, along with their guild mates because Ben told them about his plan.
He asked for their assistance and they were the ones who caused this room to become dark. The firefly stuff was his magic though. He had prepared this scenario for a long time and this is the best thing that he could come up with.
"It wasn't that good but I hope you like this surprise." Ben said while still hugging Mira.
Mira sniffled.
"What do you mean it wasn't that good? It's the best that I can hope for." She said.
"It's good that you like it." Ben replied, satisfied.
Everyone there congratulated the two for their engagement. These 2 have been lovebirds for a long time so they are happy that they've gone this far. Many things have happened to them and they can finally be happy for themselves.
They haven't lived for themselves since the Tenrou Island incident. They lived for their siblings and their friends while pushing their happiness aside. Now, they can stop that and pursue their own happiness, so everyone who knew their struggle is genuinely happy.
"This is a happy day for many of us, but also a sad day for many girls who got their hearts broken." Bisca said playfully.
"Hmm? Why would that happen?" Ben asked curiously.
"Don't act ignorant. I know you know that many girls out there like you. There are even fan clubs that fawn over you. 'The most handsome Wizard Saint', 'The strongest mage with the most handsome face', etc. If you agreed to become a model back then, you will have more fans than you do now. Even the top models like the Trimen from Blue Pegasus can't match your fame. Many girls will cry when this news spreads." Bisca sighed.
"You're exaggerating." Ben said.
Ben knew that he was quite famous, but not to the extent Bisca said.
"Is that an exaggeration?" Kenshin asked, gesturing to the window.
Everyone looks in that direction and saw many girls crying while looking at Ben.
Ben was speechless because he never thought it would be this bad. He knew people, especially girls like him, but not to the extent that they'll cry over his engagement like this.
Ben didn't say anything for a while before he finally spoke, "They won't kill me, right?"
"I don't know about that, girls can be crazy someti...most of the time." Laxus said with fear in his eyes as he was trembling.
Ben knew Laxus must've had a bad experience, so he didn't say anything else. He just hoped that he would be fine until the wedding.
