Following the guard sharks into the Yeerk facility, Tommy found himself more and more unsettled by everything going on all around them. He didn't seem to be the only one.

(I'm starting to think Marco was right,) Tobias said. (This place does feel like some kind of shark slaughterhouse.)

(I don't think so,) Cassie said calmly. (I think this is something more medical. Besides, we'd smell blood if the other sharks were getting hurt.)

(Unless they're getting boiled alive,) Marco said, with mordant amusement. (Boiled and canned, all in one process; it's Chicken of the Sea shark meat.)

(I don't think people actually eat-) Tommy started to say, before yelping in surprise as he suddenly found himself yanked up and out of the water.

As the shark thrashed, panicking in the open air that its gills couldn't breathe, Tommy found himself wondering just what else was going to happen. It was a strange, unsettling thing, but Tommy tried to keep it together as best he could. The rest of the Animorphs would worry even more than they already were if he started panicking.

When the seven of them were all dumped back in the waterway they'd made their way in through to begin with, Tommy wondered for a moment what was going on.
