Title: Rewrite the Stars
Chapter 53
(Elizabeth moans a bit and squints her eyes a bit as if she's trying to wake up from a deep sleep. Her head moves a little before she finally starts to regain consciousness)
(After a few minutes, Elizabeth finally wakes up and looks around)
Liz: (to herself) "Where the hell am I?"
(As she looks around more, the thought comes to her. Wait a minute. Is she in the hospital somewhere? This place looks a bit familiar. But, how could it? She doesn't recall ever being in this room before. She tried to remember. Think, Elizabeth, think! Where have you seen this place before? Before she can think of anything else, the lights turn on in the somewhat darkened room)
(She worriedly looks around to see a guy in a gray suit with a salt and pepper mustache and a mini beard coming towards her. His hair is salt and peppered too and it's long, so it's up in a ponytail. His hair left laying neatly on his back)
(As she realizes she's sitting down on a chair with a cloth tied around her mouth so she couldn't scream for help, the guy grabs a chair from the corner of the room and sets it down in front of her. She looks at him curiously as he takes off the gag)
Liz: "You? You kidnapped me?"
(He faces her and smiles a bit before speaking)
Guy: "I take it you know who I am."
(Elizabeth blinks and continues to stare at the guy before her)
Liz: "Yes, I know who you are. You're Cyrus Renault. I don't know you personally. I have heard of you around town, though, and I know that you work in the mob."
(Cyrus turns his head slightly and smiles at her)
Cyrus: "Ah, so you have heard of me and you know who I am. Tell me what else you've heard."
(Elizabeth raises her eyebrows and states matter of factly)
Liz: "I know you've killed before. I know you do illegal stuff. That's your business, though." (tilts her head) "Why did you kidnap me? What do you have to gain?"
Cyrus: (shrugs) "You were in the way. You'll be here awhile, so get comfortable."
(Elizabeth smirks as she made her next move)
Liz: "Sam sent you to kidnap me, didn't she?"
(Cyrus gets comfortable on the chair again before he speaks)
Cyrus: "I'm curious why you think that."
Liz: (chuckles lightly) "The warning signs are all there. Sam gave me and my family little hints. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out."
Cyrus: (chuckles) "Maybe I wanted to kidnap you on my own because I wanted payback."
Liz; (curiously) "Payback for who?"
Cyrus: "The guy you're in love with but shouldn't be with."
Liz: (confused) "Jason?"
Cyrus: (shrugs) "Is there another Jason Morgan that you're in love with?"
(Elizabeth clears her throat and states matter of factly)
Liz: "Jason has tried to keep the peace. If you haven't kept the peace, that's on YOU, not him."
(Cyrus nods and couldn't help but admire her sassiness. She sure does shell it out. He chuckles as he spoke)
Cyrus: "I'm surprised you're not scared for your life considering you're technically kidnapped."
(Elizabeth looks at Cyrus right in the eyes)
Liz: "I know that Jason will find me. It's only a matter of time."
Cyrus: "You DO know, Elizabeth, that no one knows you've been kidnapped yet. For all anyone knows, you're at GH working."
Liz: "Like I stated before, Mr. Renault, is it? I have faith in the man I love."
(Elizabeth turns her head away from Cyrus. She makes it clear she's done talking to him)
Cyrus: (laughing) "I'll be back later. I'll bring you something to eat and drink."
(Cyrus exits)
(Elizabeth scoffs then sighs as she spoke)
Liz: "I know you'll find me, Jason. Our hearts are connected."
(Meanwhile, a few hours have officially passed since Elizabeth's abduction. Jason is at work with Sonny when he receives a call from Monica)
Jason: "Everything okay? You don't usually call unless something is wrong."
Monica: "Jason, have you spoken to Elizabeth?"
Jason: "Elizabeth should be at work. She left the house a few hours ago."
(Monica's concerned and the silence from her speaks volumes to Jason! He made sure he could hear her when he asked his next question)
Jason: "Why? What's wrong?"
Monica: "Jason, Elizabeth never showed up for work this morning. That's very unlike her to do that."
Jason: "Is it possible she switched shifts with someone?"
Monica: "I'm not aware of that because someone would have told me."
Jason: "Don't worry, mom. I'll find out what's going on."
(They end the call. The concern on Jason's face tells Sonny something serious is going on)
Sonny: "Jason, talk to me."
Jason: "That was Monica. Elizabeth never showed up for work this morning. Sonny, that's not like her. I'm going to drive by the house to make sure her SUV isn't there. If it's not, I'm calling Spinelli from the house."
Sonny: "If you need me to call Brick for anything, let me know."
Jason: (nods) "Okay."
(Jason leaves Sonny's office and rushes to Elizabeth's house. He curses under his breath when he doesn't see her SUV there. He gets his phone out of his pants pocket and dials Spinelli's number. Spinelli answers on the second ring)
Spinelli: "Greetings, Stonecold."
Jason: "Spinelli, I need you to come to Elizabeth's house as soon as possible. Bring your laptop."
Spinelli: (worriedly) "Stonecold, is everything okay? You sound concerned."
Jason: "I'll explain when you get here. I need you to look at the GH cameras."
Spinelli: "Okay. I'll be right there."
(Within ten minutes, Spinelli is knocking on the front door of Elizabeth's house. Jason answers)
Jason: "Thank you for coming right away."
Spinelli: "Stonecold, I-I don't understand. Did something happen to The Maternal One?"
Jason: (sighs) "I think so. According to Monica, Elizabeth never showed up for work. She didn't switch shifts with anyone, either. That's not like her. Monica's worried. I'm worried. Elizabeth's vehicle isn't here. I need you to look at the General Hospital cameras to see if her vehicle is in the parking lot at all or anywhere at the hospital."
Spinelli: (nods quickly) "No problem, Stonecold. Just give me a minute or two to get my laptop up and running."
(Jason lets Spinelli do what he needs to do. Although, he is tempted to tell him to hurry up. He knows that Spinelli can only go so fast so he doesn't mess anything up)
(After Spinelli's laptop is up and running, he goes into the GH database. He searches all over the underground parking lot and indeed sees Elizabeth's SUV parked there. He breathes a sigh of relief at that)
Spinelli: "Okay, her SUV is at the GH underground parking lot."
Jason: "Can you track her phone to see her last location?"
Spinelli: (nods) "Yes. Give me a minute or two."
(Spinelli does some typing on his laptop and sees her phone is left by her SUV in her purse. Spinelli briefly looks in his friends' direction)
Spinelli: "Stonecold, according to the tracking device on The Maternal One, it is by her SUV in the underground parking lot."
Jason: "I asked Elizabeth if I could put a tracking device on her phone in case something ever happened to her. Or if she lost her phone and purse, then we'd know where it was at. She was fine with it."
(Jason and Spinelli can't figure out if her phone and purse is by her vehicle, where is she? Jason asks Spinelli to look at the cameras in the underground parking lot in case they missed anything. It didn't take Spinelli long to notice something disturbing. He has a weird look as he zooms in on the picture)
Spinelli: "Oh, dear."
(Jason stops walking around and faces Spinelli)
Jason: "What? What'd you find?"
(Spinelli sees something on the ground around the area by her SUV. He rests his hand briefly on his mouth)
Spinelli: "Oh, my goodness. Fair Elizabeth."
(Jason sits down next to Spinelli and looks at him in determination)
Jason: "What the hell is going on, Spinelli? What'd you find?"
(Spinelli gulps in some much-needed air and nervously speaks)
Spinelli: "Stonecold, according to the cameras in the underground parking lot, The Maternal One's necklace is on the ground near her SUV on the driver's side." (clears his throat) "Now, granted the cameras there aren't the best."
Jason: "Keep looking in the parking lot in case you find anything else. If you don't find anything, look at all the other cameras in the hospital in case she's somewhere inside. I'm going to go to the parking lot to where her vehicle is at. If you find anything, Spinelli, call me."
Spinelli: (nods) "Right away, Stonecold. And yes, I'll keep looking. No problem."
(Jason rushes out the door and gets in his black four door pickup. He speeds to get to the underground parking lot at General Hospital. He doesn't give a shit that he's running through red lights. His girl was more important than getting pulled over by the police or being chased by them)
(When he finally reaches his destination, he forcefully parks by Elizabeth's vehicle and gets out. He remembers where Spinelli said the necklace was and frantically searches for it. After a second or two, he finds the necklace. He bends down and gently picks it up. He notices that the clip is broken. He figured that's where Elizabeth broke it so she could try leaving a clue for him)
(He looks at the necklace and then looks away in a frantic state)
Jason: (to himself) "Where are you, baby?"
