When she finds Alice, she swears to God she is going to put that woman on a leash and make sure she can never leave in the middle of the night again. That or kill her. Maybe a combination of the two.
Becky sits behind her engrossed in a book Alice found for her a few days before the Red Queen got in contact with her about this supposed Anti-Virus. At the time everything about it screamed trap. The Red Queen was the one who enslaved her for over a year. The one who made her torture Alice and try to kill her. The Same AI who has repeatedly tried to kill Alice is suddenly working with her to bring down Umbrella.
How does that make any sense.
That night after Becky had fallen asleep the two of them were lying in bed discussing what they should do. The timer on Alice's watch continued to tick down did nothing to settle Alice's nerves. If they decided to do this then it would mean Alice would have to go alone. As much as Jill hated to admit it, she was in no condition to move never mind go up against Umbrella.
During Wesker's betrayal, Jill had figured out he was the traitor and had moved to confront him while Alice Ada and Leon tried to rally everyone to hold back the unrelenting monstrosities created by Umbrella. Wesker had managed to evade her attacks before his index finger turned into a tendril and impaled her through her left eye socket before leaving her to die.
In a miraculous turn of events the damage Wesker inflicted upon her only seemed to extend to her eye and she managed to find Alice and save her from being absorbed by the Melange. Leon and Ada weren't as lucky. After saving Alice Jill could barely stand but the dark-haired woman helped her to walk and together they found Becky and escaped Umbrella's assault on the capital. Since then, they have been hiding in an underground bunker with only Alice venturing out to face the plague torn world to find them supplies.
And that's not even considering Becky someone had to look after her. They couldn't leave their daughter alone in a world like this and they certainly weren't going to risk Umbrella getting their hands on her again.
In the end, Alice decided she would return to the Hive and release the Anti-Virus. She argued if there was a chance to end this she had to take it. A decision Jill can understand even if she didn't agree with it completely.
Waking up the next morning Jill had reached over to wrap herself around Alice's warm body taking refuge in the last few minutes they may have together before going to wake Becky up and explain to her what was happening. Only when she reached out, she wasn't met with Alice's soft skin and morning smile. Instead, she was met with cold sheets and an empty bed.
She hadn't understood how she felt at that point. Hurt, Betrayed, abandoned, angry, and terrified all at once. Once again Alice had disappeared from her in the middle of the night without a word. Leaving her behind yet again.
Becky was already awake when she arrived in the kitchen area of the bunker. Alice had woken her up early and told her everything leaving the young girl in charge of looking after Jill. A way to distract the kid from worrying about her mother out there alone up against Umbrella.
But that was a week ago. Alice had forty-eight hours to defeat Umbrella according to the Red Queen. So where is she. She should have come back by now. Which is why Jill and Becky are currently driving across the country looking for any sign of the older woman.
No sign of Alice but Jill does note the lack of walking infected. She saw the odd dead infected on the ground, but she hadn't come across any actively hunting infected.
"Jill." Becky's shy calls from behind her.
Eye flickering into the rear view mirror to make sure the girl was alright. "What is it darling," She asks her voice growing softer. Batteries for her hearing aids are almost impossible to find so we have to use them sparsely. Alice has been teaching her sign language, but she is nowhere as efficient at using it as Alice and Becky are.
Becky looks at her worry clear to see on her face as she hugs her fennec fox closer to her chest. Alice had got it for her when she looted the Smithsonian National Zoo for medical supplies. Medicine used on animals isn't that different too humans. And they had plenty of bandages, clothes, and other supplies for them to use. "Do you think mommy's ok"
It's the one question she had hoped Becky wouldn't ask. Because she didn't want to think about how much danger Alice was in. During the days it was easier to put to the back of her mind. She would occupy her mind with looking after Becky. Helping her with her reading, learning more sign language, and helping her with education. Not that she's the best at that but her math skills are slightly better than the seven year old.
When she had put Becky to sleep at nights however is when her mind conjured up every horrific scenario Alice might find herself in. Most nights she barely slept and if by some miracle she did manage to fall asleep.
She has tried so hard not to let Becky see her fear. Tried to do everything in her power to keep Becky distracted from Alice's absence and make her feel safe and secure with her. Something she has to do again. Making Becky scared wouldn't help anyone. "Mommy is the strongest person I have ever met." Which is true. Jill has never met anyone quite like Alice. After everything she has had to endure sometimes Jill wonders where Alice finds the strength to go on.
When Alice was catching her up on everything that had happened in their time apart, she didn't voice it, but Jill could see agony in her eyes at every name she mentioned. Of all the people she had lost. Every day she had spent in isolation to afraid to be around people in fear of her powers harming them. She wishes she had been with Alice. That she could have shared the burden placed upon her and helped to ease some of her pain.
Pain she herself contributed to when under the control of Umbrella. She sometimes still dreams about it. Vividly remembering the feeling of being trapped in her own body as she pressed the button to torture Alice. Her screams of pain still echo in her ears. When she closes her eyes she can see Alice as she withers on the ground desperately trying in vain to block out the screeching designed to pierce her skull. How she held her by the throat and couldn't stop herself from moving to crush her head on the snowmobile chain tracks. Sometimes she doesn't wake up and has to watch herself murder Alice like that. Making Becky watch as she viciously murders her mother before moving on to terminate her.
Those nights she wakes up gasping for air, crying and sweating desperately searching for Alice. Needed the reminder that she didn't kill her. On those nights Alice would wrap her into a tight embrace gently stroking her hair whispering soft words of affection and love.
She isn't the only one to have nightmares. Alice suffers from them all the time preferring to suffer in silence only pulling Jill's arms around her seeking her presence but not wanting to talk about it. Jill plants soft kisses on her head before snuggling more into Alice hoping she is helping to alleviate the woman's pain.
Becky suffers with them the most leading her to join the two of them in bed. Cocooning herself safely in between them. The first few times Becky had joined them in bed Jill had felt uncomfortable imposing her presence on the mini version of Alice like that. This was back at the start and her and Alice's relationship was still new but familiar. When Becky came crying into their room, she wanted her mother. Not the woman who had hunted and tried to kill them. So, to make Becky feel more at ease Jill would take her leave. Alice always argued she didn't want her to go, and Becky wasn't afraid of her, but she didn't want to risk it.
That was until one night as she was pulling back the sheets to swap places with Becky the terrified child had clambered onto her lap burying herself in Jill's neck hanging off of her like a kola crying about how the monsters had tried to kill her. Cradling Becky in her arms that night with Alice sat next to them watching on with that small smile of hers was the night Jill realised that they were a family. The three of them were a family.
Following that realisation Jill had taken to playing a larger role in Becky's life. Not just her mother's girlfriend who watches her or helps her read every now and then. Jill was now a parent figure. She was Becky's mom. A role she took to nervously. A role she doesn't wish to hold on her own. She and Alice are Becky's parents.
Now all they have to do is find Alice.
Arriving in Raccoon City brings back so many memories. Looking over the crater Jill remembers Peyton and Terri. Her friend and the terrified weather woman who had perished the night the outbreak began. LJ and Carlos. Her two friends who helped her to save Alice from the Detroit facility and for a little while afterwards it seemed they as a group would make it. Until Umbrella happened and they were all separated.
Angie...
Their sweet smart and brave kid who endured so much more then any of them that night and was still stronger than them all. The child she and Alice had originally taken to looking after. The one they failed to protect from this savage world and died with them unable to help her. Her supply of anti-virus running out faster than they could procure it.
It's been years since she was last here but not a day goes by that she hasn't thought about it. This was the beginning of the end. In a way, it makes sense that this would be the place everything comes to ahead.
"Jill." Becky comes up next to her overlooking the giant crater.
Kneeling down she brushes some of Becky's loose strands behind her ear. "Yes, Sweetie." She says it out loud as well as signs it. Becky can read lips pretty well so if her signing is a little off Becky can still understand what it is that she is saying.
"Will we find Mommy soon." She so innocently asks breaking Jill's heart at the same time as warming it.
"I hope so." She mutters back pulling her into a tight hug. One she is all too keen to return.
Pulling out a pair of binoculars Jill scans the area for any signs of anything. The city is a ruin. What's left of it anyways. But what does catch her attention is a crashed tank with the Umbrella logo printed boldly on the side.
So, Umbrella was here. Given it is crashed and very badly damaged means a fight of some kind. Which given Alice's history and presence here means it's most likely she was involved in the fight. If she was on her own, she wouldn't hesitate to investigate the wreckage. But she isn't alone. She has three options in that case.
Option one she takes Becky with her to investigate which could be a trap set by Umbrella resulting in either their deaths or capture. Option two she leaves Becky somewhere safe and searches the area. But leaving Becky alone in a city is dangerous. Especially if Umbrella are roaming around. Or option three they don't go near the tank and continue looking aimless around the city.
None of them are good options.
Sighing deeply Jill decides to go with option one. They need to find out what happened to Alice and there is no way in hell she is leaving Becky anywhere alone.
Becky knows to stay closer and keep her eyes out whenever she is out of the bunker. Nonetheless, Jill reminds her of the rules and what to do should they be attacked. Still, as they approach the tank something much more interesting grabs her attention.
People.
There are people walking around the base of a tower cleaning out infected burnt remains and rubble. None of them are wearing an Umbrella uniform but still Jill emerges with caution. Her hand on her gun and Becky was safely secured behind her.
One of the men pushing a huge piece of stone spots them first and calls out. Someone shouts to get someone called Claire as they approach. Two men and one woman meet her halfway. "Hello." The man who was pushing the stone greets smiling at them. the three of them take a double look seeing her bandaged eye but don't call her out on it.
"Do I want to know what happened here." She asks taking all the damage to the area. It seems like a huge fight happened here. The structural damage to the tower shows it was more then infected and bullets.
"Umbrella tried to take the tower," The man answered basking in the aftermath of their victory. "But some woman came and saved us." Some women. Her grip on Becky's hand tightens a little at hearing this. "We sent Umbrella running and then a few of our group went with this woman to release the Anti-Virus killing all the infected."
Alice did it. She stopped Umbrella and ended this nightmare. Relief floods through her body at hearing this. Not only did Alice save everyone once again but they aren't the only people around anymore.
The three people in front of her seem happy but she still has to ask before her hopes get too high. "What happened to this woman who saved everyone."
"She was hurt pretty badly. Claire has been looking after her while she recovers." Jill feels two very different emotions to the woman's words. Happy and relieved that Alice appears to be ok. But who the fuck is Claire who has taken to looking after her.
Thankfully Jill manages to mask her scowl at the thought of some woman fretting over her girlfriend. "I'm Archie, This Vicent and Sofia." The third person says waiting patiently for her to introduce themselves.
"I'm Jill. This is Becky." Becky comes out from behind her at her encouragement. She then whispers a shy hello signing at the same time before slipping back to safety.
"Wait is she..." Sofia asks trailing off not entirely sure how to ask the question they all want to know.
"Deaf." Jill elaborates for them. "Yes."
"Oh." The three of them look between each other no clue on what to say to that. Internally Jill rolls her eyes. Her annoyance with these people shoots up when she can feel Becky lean her waist against her. An act she tends to do when embarrassed.
Jill hates how people react when finding out Becky is deaf. It's usually a pitting look of sympathy which these people have but also the how does someone like this survives in our world looks. That look makes her want to punch everyone. Especially when Becky picks up on it and feels the need to hide away.
The only thing to save these people from Jill going off on them is the fact they are holding Alice, so she holds her tongue. This time. "Well, you're welcome to inside the tower. Claire will want to meet you."
Who is this Claire person. "Claire." The desire to know who has latched themselves onto Alice has her following these people inside the battered tower.
The woman answers her question but sounds unsure herself exchanging a look with the two men. "She's kind of our leader now."
"Kind of." How can someone kind of be their leader. It's either they are the leader, or they aren't. if the tower looks to Claire for answers and has her interviewing new people that makes her the leader. Why the confusion around the subject.
Vincent expands on this rubbing the back of his neck, "Well, our previous leader died trying to help with the anti-virus. Claire and the woman were the only two to survive the Hive."
Damn. If Alice took a group of people with her to the Hive and they all died she will be blaming herself for their deaths. Alice has the annoying habit of blaming herself for every death that happens. Jill knows Alice still blames herself for the outbreak. Which is bullshit. What happened was not her fault. It's Umbrellas. Alice did everything in her power to try and stop it. But Alice won't believe that. The weight of the apocalypse weighs heavily on her shoulders, and she refuses to share the burden with her.
Still, people have died and as awful as it sounds Jill is glad it was them who died and not Alice. "I'm sorry for your losses." She is sorry for them. Hopefully, they will be the last to die at Umbrella's hands.
"Thank you," Archie replies mournfully giving her and Becky a sad smile. "We're still dealing with clean up after the siege a week ago." A siege. Alice has had plenty of experience with Sieges in Washington before Wesker turned on them. No wonder this place held up so well. Still, she can't wait to hear the story of what happened here.
Heading up the stairs Jill notes dozens of other people milling around. Men and women of all ages. She even sees a few kids. But she doesn't spot Alice. They said she was resting in the infirmary, but Alice can't sit still for long so if it's been a week and she's still in there it must have been bad. "This woman you keep mentioning she wouldn't happen to be called Alice would she."
"Yes..." Vicent looks at her suspiciously. His hand comes down to rest on his gun. Archie and Sofia's eyes narrowing on her. "How do you know that."
"Because we're looking for her," Jill answers honestly not wanting to make an enemy out of these people who are holding Alice. This group are highly on guard after Umbrella attacking makes sense. Especially if Alice and Claire hit the Hive. If there are any Umbrella operatives left getting revenge on Alice would be the way to go.
"Oh, is she a friend of yours." Sofia asks glancing back down to Becky.
Something stirs inside of Jill at what the three of them are thinking. The way they are looking between her and Becky. As if she is an umbrella operative using a child to infiltrate the tower to get at Alice. "Something like that," Jill replies making sure they all know she has noticed the way they are ready to draw on her.
Tense rises within the four adults. That is until Becky tugs on Jill's arm gaining her attention. "Is my mommy here Jill." She asks timidly not liking the way everyone is looking at each other.
Jill feels her face drop its scowl softening as she brushes her daughter's hair back. "Yes. Mommy is here. But she's hurt at the minute so you will have to be extra careful when you see her ok." Jill is fairly sure she signed a few of those words wrong but Becky's excited nod and bright smile assures her she at least understood what it is she was asking.
Archie relaxes his stance following their short conversation. "Oh well she's in the infirmary if you want to-"
His words are cut off when a woman with red hair appears in front of her gun drawn and glaring menacing towards her. On instinct, she pulls her own gun out and moves her body to block Becky who squeaks at the sudden escalation of events.
"Claire," Sofia says carefully moving out of the gun's range but trying to calm the situation down. "What are you doing."
"She's with Umbrella," Claire replies her glare intensifying. The three people with her all immediately draw their guns. So much for them starting to settle down.
Shit. Jill has to shift to keep her whole body in front of Becky's but four guns coming from four different directions makes that a little difficult. She would like to add for the record that only having one eye in a situation like this does not help her at all with her situational awareness. "I'm not with Umbrella." Jill venomously spits back. "I'd never willingly work with those bastards."
Not after everything they have done to the world. Never mind what they have done to Alice. She would rather die than become their slave again.
"I remember you," Claire argues back. "You were on the Arcadia. You gunned down unarmed civilians and attacked Alice."
Jill can't help but wince at that. The things she did under the Red Queen's orders still haunt her dreams. Alice never blamed her for anything that happened but that doesn't mean she doesn't blame herself. Nor does it mean that those who suffered at her hands will so easily forget.
On more then one occasion she had woken up from dreaming about that day on the Acadia and ended up throwing up. Alice always sat on the bathroom floor with her rubbing her back telling her everything would be ok.
God, does she wish Alice was here right now.
"Jill." Becky's scared little voice comes from behind her looking between Jill and the red haired woman in fear clutching on to Jill tighter. A part of Jill is relieved that Becky isn't looking towards her with the same fear she did at the start. When she couldn't understand how she suddenly went from trying to kill her and Alice to helping them.
Alice had sat Becky down one day and explained to her that I was being mind controlled by the bad guys, but Alice had freed her and in return, Jill had saved the two of them from the rest of the bad guys. It took a little while, but Becky stopped looking at her like she was the monster and started to look to her to protect her from the monsters.
Becky has that same look on now.
Four vs one. Not great odds she will admit. She can't risk dodging either because Becky might be hit instead of her. Now she is fast. Not as fast as Alice but fast. She could definitely take two of them down before she is gunned down herself. Maybe three. But not four. Not with how spread out they are. If she had a submachine gun, she could spray which might have done it but not with her pistol.
Besides Claire looks ready to kill her the second she so much as twitches. Fuck where is Alice. If they can get her here, she can clean all this up. If Claire was on the Acardia then she and Alice might have crossed paths before Umbrella came and she can explain the whole mind control thing. The red head would probably listen to Alice's words...
"Wait." A memory comes back of what Alice told her. What are the chances there was another red-haired woman called Claire on the Arcadia. One whom Alice would trust enough to share the plans of the Hive with. Who she would risk not making it to the Hive on time. "Your Claire. As in Claire Redfield."
If Jill thought Claire had a murderous expression on her face before it is nothing to what is showing now. "How do you know my name."
"Alice told me." Jill instantly states. "Alice told me everything. Like how she saved you from birds in Nevada. How she found you in Alaska and the two of you flew down to LA. I'm Jill. Jill Valentine. I was in the original group with Alice, LJ and Carlos."
Her words seem to have some effect as Claire's eyes widen in recognition but a moment before turning back to glaring at her. Not as dangerously as before which she would call an improvement. "Why are you here."
"We're looking for Alice." Becky peaks out from behind her slightly with one hand gripping on to her for dear life and the other in a surrendering motion. A sight that breaks Jill's heart and makes her want to do nothing more then beat the shit out of the four of them for making Becky feel like she has to do this in order to survive.
Claire seems to have the same reaction to the sight. Jill could see the way she uncomfortable swallow's eyes flickering between her and Becky trying to figure out how to separate the two of them. Which at this point Jill would do. If Claire is so adamant that Jill is guilty then she doesn't want Becky anywhere near a potential firefight. "Why. And how can I trust you're not umbrella anymore."
"Well, we can have that talk but first I would like you to stop pointing a gun at me and my daughter." She was going to point out this is also Alice's daughter, but a sudden shout stops everyone from moving.
"Claire stop," Alice shouts emerging behind Claire. Holding on to her side leaning heavily upon one of the stone pillars. "It's fine. She's with me."
Alice is here. Alice is alive.
Jill can't help the big board smile that lights up her face at the sight of Alice. Subconsciously she lowers her gun as she locks gazes with Alice's tried but relieved pale green eyes. Everything will be ok now. They are all here together again.
"Mommy." Becky cries out sprinting towards Alice. She and Claire keep their eyes on each other not trusting the other but the red also lowers her gun her people following suit. "What happened. Does it hurt."
Those words have Jill snapping her head away from the people who were about to kill her back towards Alice. Hurt. Alice is hurt. She saw that Alice was holding her ribs but was there something else she missed. Jill does a quick scan of Alice from head to toe. Nothing stands out to her yet Becky seems so sure Alice is visibly hurt.
Alice kisses the top of Becky's head. "I'm fine Sweetie. Just had a little accident."
Feeling the red head judgemental gaze still on her Jill makes her way over to Alice. It's on then that she takes in the hand deprived of a few fingers above the knuckles. Shit that looks like it hurt. Without thinking Jill reaches out to take Alice's injured hand in her own. Rubbing her thumb along the stubs of her fingers.
A precision cut. But not with a blade. The wounds look like they were burnt shut. She tears her eyes away from Alice's hand back to her eyes. The question lingering in her own. "My perfect record with the laser room is officially over." She jokes lightly offering her a comforting smile.
She went up against the laser room. Again. The same room which wiped out half of her unit back at the start. Why the fuck would she go back in there. "How bad is it," Jill asks not just referring to her hand.
"I'm fine. Just a few broken bones and exhaustion." Alice assures her and Becky who hugs Alice tighter knowing she is safe. "It's over." Alice tells her saying the words out loud lifts so much weight and pressure off of the dark-haired woman. "it's finally over." She whispers in awe.
Still feeling Claire's questioning gaze on her back Jill smirks to herself before cupping Alice's face with her spare hand and kissing her. For some reason Alice stilled. Jill could feel Alice's hesitation before Alice gives in kisses her back with the same urgency she is needing to make herself believe that this was real. That this is really all over.
With Becky sandwiched between them, it all seems like everything has finally gone their way. That they will get their happy ending after all.
That is however until when Alice pulls back nudging her nose against Jill's in a loving manner. Her words being a direct contrast to that action. "We need to talk when Becky is asleep." The seriousness in Alice's voice has all the joy and relief Jill was feeling drop out of her. Instead, Dread settles uncomfortably in her stomach.
When your partner says the words we need to talk. That is not a sign that everything is all good and well. Not trusting her own voice Jill nods before pulling away from Alice. A coldness resonates on her skin as they part. Thankfully Becky doesn't seem to notice the chasm that has formed between the two of them.
For the rest of the day Jill feels off balance as she sits in the infirmary with Alice and Becky. The three of them retreated back there after Alice struggled to stay standing on her own and Jill needed to be away from prying eyes. Alice tells her and Becky the story of the siege and the battle down in the Hive.
But in all honestly Jill doesn't hear much of it. Her own mind whirling over what could have possibly made Alice's feelings change for her. The knowledge that Claire Redfield is here. Claire who hasn't stopped glaring at her even when she comes in to cheek on Alice to see if she needs anything makes her heckles rise. Was she the reason why Alice needed to talk to her.
In the past, Jill always knew that Claire was someone very important to Alice, but Alice had never said anything about them being in a relationship or even hinting at it. Were they together before the Acardia and have decided to get back together or is this a new development in their relationship. Or it is something else. As much as she tries to make sense of everything she can't. A week ago, she and Alice were good. So why are they suddenly not.
Jill finds her herself anxiously waiting for Becky to fall asleep so the two of them can talk. The need to understand what is going on rages against her trepidation about having this talk. Her nerves prickle on her sick and swirl in her stomach. If they do break up what about Becky. Would Alice still allow her to be close to her daughter or would pull her away leaving Jill all alone.
Eventually, Becky does fall asleep after the sun sets leaving her and Alice in a blanket of doubt and unease as both wait for the other to say something. When Alice fails to say anything to bring clarity to the situation Jill takes the lead. "You wanted to talk." Her words come out more bitter than she would have liked but that's better than revealing the terrified bundle of nerves she hiding behind.
"I found something out down in the Hive." Alice starts refusing to meet her eyes instead watching Becky sleep on the cot next to her. "Umbrella was run by two CEO's. Issac's and a woman called Alicia Marcus." Jill nods slightly surprised at where this is going. Issac's being the CEO of Umbrella isn't new information. After Raccoon City she and LJ had done a deep dive into all things Umbrella. Alicia Marcus was the daughter of the original CEO James Marcus who died when she was young. Nonetheless, Jill doesn't interrupt Alice a growing sense of interest in why Alice is giving her this history lesson. "Alicia was the one to program the Red Queen to help us."
Oh. So, one of the CEO's of Umbrella weren't a massive asshole hellbent on wiping out all life on Earth. Good for her to be a normal human being.
But why wait so long to have the Red Queen turn on Umbrella. If she knew what Issacs was planning, then shouldn't she have put that code in so the Red Queen would act earlier. Maybe before she was enslaved and turned into a mindless killer for Umbrella for over a year.
"And apparently, I am a clone of her." Alice finishes finally looking at her. Pale green eyes looking so lost and broken with this newfound knowledge.
"What." It's all Jill can say in that moment. Out of everything she had been expecting from this conversation Jill can honestly say this didn't make her top ten.
Alice continues not allowing her long to process that. Her self-contempt at this discovery. "I'm not a real person Jill. All my memories. Everything I shared with you about my past. It's all a lie. I was a clone of her used by Umbrella. Just a tool for them. Alicia gave me her memories before she died but it still doesn't feel real. I have two conflicting childhoods, memories and experiences in my head. Nothing feels right anymore." There's almost a pleading from her to Jill. A plea for help. To help make sense of everything in a reality that doesn't fit anymore after Alice spent so long trying to figure out who she is. Only for her to now lose all that in one fatal swipe.
Jill shifts from her bench to the edge of Alice's and Becky's cot sitting on the edge. Her movements were slow and calm so as not to spook Alice. She takes Alice's injured hand in her own rubbing her thumb over her knuckles. An action that has Alice relax slightly. "Your still you Alice."
Alice closes her eyes shaking her head. "I'm not thought. I'm Alicia. Alice Abernathy doesn't exist. She's nothing but a cheap copy of a dying woman."
"Hey." Jill immediately cuts in hating the way Alice is talking about herself. It's something they have talked about in the past. Alice for as long as she has known her has always struggled with her own self-worth. The weight of the T-Virus escaping made Alice see herself as someone who deserved to die for her lack of action but was deemed to live only to serve as her punishment. Something Jill has always argued against and worked hard on making Alice see she is worthy far more then she thinks and how much both she and Becky cherish having her in her life. She hates that once again Alice has slipped down this rabbit hole of self-doubt. "Don't talk about yourself like that."
Alice tries to pull her hand away, but Jill tightens her grip on her. "I don't deserve you Jill. You deserve someone better. Someone real." The dark hair woman mutters breaking Jill's heart.
That is until something clicks in her head. "Did... did you think I wouldn't want to be with you because of this." She asks but the silence Alice gives her answers that question. Indignation rises within Jill at hearing this. After everything the two of them have been through Alice doubts her love and loyalty to her. That's bullshit. "Because if you did then that's the worst thing you've ever thought about me. Our daughter is a clone and that doesn't make her any less my daughter or a real person. You may have been cloned of off this Alicia person, but you are Alice. You will always be Alice. You are you. You just have more knowledge of where you came from now. And none of that makes me love you any less."
"Promise." Alice timidly asks running her hand through Jill's blonde tips. Whatever that Scarb did to her took a while to wear off and for her dark hair to start naturally growing back. So, for now most of her hair is still blonde but her roots are dark.
Smiling sweetly Jill puts two fingers under Alice's chin and tilts her head up slightly so they are looking at each other. "Not wanting to sound sappy or anything but you Alice are without a doubt the love of my life." Alice and Becky are the only two things in this world she is sure about.
A small laugh escapes from Alice. "That is sappy. But I'm glad you said it. Your mine too by the way."
Relief and happiness settles within Jill at hearing this. "I better be, or you would be in so much trouble." Alice doesn't need to hear any more. Her hands weave their way through Jill's hair pulling the woman towards her and claiming her lips for her own. This was the type of kiss Jill had been expecting and needing during their reunion. One exchanging their love and passion for each other. A promise of the life of these to come.
