Night Flower

So this is a new story I had gotten the idea of. It involves classroom of the elite, which I know is a popular series. Yes, I love Ayanokoji, as much as every COTE fan, however I appreciate multilateral characters in a show, rather than one "top" character. It makes stuff more fun; you know? Regardless, Ayanokoji will remain at the top, but I wanted to make it his tools more interesting, with their own drama.

The plan for this story is to introduce a new OC character that I had made up. His name is Vikku Hoshni Munfurawa, and he will be the center of my fanfiction. I will retain and somewhat branch from the canon plot for my own purposes. He will be a stereotypical anime character with a tragic background I've never touched upon, which is why this story is rated M, because it touches on very dark topics, such as suicide, self-harm, and arson. I think this past will explain his character and the type of person he is. I won't explain anything regarding his past, rather you will read to connect the picture yourself.

I may add more OCs in the future if wanted, but for now I will stick with Munfurawa sticking with the canon characters, specifically I already planned a brief idea in regard to multiple scenarios, and I personally like how it goes, which also includes Munfurawa eventually connections he'll make, but we'll see.

Also, I will put the bio for any OCs I create at the end of the chapter.

Chapter 1: It Approached Me

Third Person POV:

Throughout pre-school and elementary school years, Munfurawa always yearned for connections and friends.

Would you blame him? He was a kid at the time. The idea of going to school, this building with others his age to hang out with, was exciting. He remembered vividly his parents made it out to be the best thing ever.

Maybe that was because he came from a family background that valued education. Munfurawa did not look like the typical Japanese person. He had a rather dark complexion compared to his peers, and had a noticeable different culture compared to them.

Rather than being of Japanese in origin, Munfurawa and his family were descendent of immigrants, or rather prisoners of war who were allowed to integrate into Japanese culture as a result.

Being born on a Japanese Island with as few as 50,000 people, life was uniquely scarce of others beings, he felt, and he always yearned to talk to others.

So, when he got the chance to finally make friends, his face was full of hurt when no kid wanted to be around him. For reasons unknown to Munfurawa, none of the kids liked him. He became an outcast, at such a young age.

It wasn't that he hadn't tried hard enough, it seemed that he was too different to be liked by his soon to be peers. Once his first go at searching for friends failed, he spent most of his times in his studies, observing the groups created.

It seemed that as the years went on, nothing changed.

As they got older, his peer's views changed of him, not for the better. Their actions towards Munfurawa became worse, and sometimes resorted to looks of disgust and even taunting.

He remembered one specific moment in his elementary school days, specifically grade two, that ruined his entire elementary school experience, cementing the fact he would never befriend anyone.

And it was because of a girl.

Munfurawa was glad this girl accepted his request to be friends. She had moved to the same elementary school, and Munfurawa had met Shibata Hana, outside at a playground, alone. He quickly befriended her and was excited to talk to her when she would finally move into his class.

That is, until she finally did.

Hana had looked at Munfurawa, all alone, compared to the group on the other side, and chose to hang out with the group. She had not once, acknowledged Munfurawa from the playground, and she even assisted the group in the silent torment that finally broke his last hope.

The next day he was ambushed by that same group and sneered when Hana had told them about how he had stalked her at the playground. To say Munfurawa was shocked was an understatement. Know he was displayed by everyone as a stalker and thus they shunned him even more.

However, the stupid evil smirk Hana had given towards Munfurawa, while everyone was focused on tormenting him, went unnoticed by everyone, but it's target.

Hana had chosen numbers over connections, and Munfurawa had lost his last chance at a connection.

He had no passion, no matter what he chose, he could never have it click with him. He was incompatible. Whether it was with the class, recreational activities, or even with his parents, he had nothing.

All he could do was focus on his academic performance, which was where we excelled. He was usually at the top of the board in everything, as he spent most of his time studying. It was all he did. All the while observing the characteristics of every peer he had, developing an understanding of how they acted. He began to read books instead of talk to groups. He would eat outside the school whilst others his age stuck to groups, talking about common interests. His life had delved away from communicating with others, and rather observing how others in his class worked, and his studies.

Eat, go to school, study, and sleep. It was a mundane task at first, before Munfurawa's parents had enough. The irony was this was before Hana had betrayed him.

Whilst the Hana incident had occurred in grade two, this one occurred when Munfurawa was just five.

"This isn't how a young child should be living their life!" Munfurawa's mother had exclaimed at her child, whom merely sighed.

It was insane, Munfurawa's progress in his academic abilities had accelerated compared to the rest of his age, and was even recommended to move to a move academically gifted school. Unfortunately, Munfurawa's parents couldn't afford to.

Even when Munfurawa sat down, his mother did not exceed him greatly in height. She was only 5'1" but was a rather large lady. Even then, this gave her a young look that masked her actual age. She had piercing eyes though, and her arms were huge, indicating she had a history of intense working.

"I'll hang out with friends later, I want to focus on my grades." He merely replied.

Munfurawa's mother sighed yet again, "Darling, you are already doing well academically, the teachers praise you about your marks, how consistently good they are, but they have told me they are concerned for your social life."

Munfurawa's eyes widened somewhat at that, did she find out? As he looked, he realized that her eyes were piercing through his face, as if she was able to see the lie he had told her.

"Apparently, you are always alone, never talking to anyone. Even at lunch, you apparently go outside and eat on the playground, why?" Munfurawa's mother exclaimed. "A child like you is supposed to have friends!"

Munfurawa's looked down, to ashamed to admit he had no friends in his school. He just couldn't bring himself to admit that.

Suddenly, another figure had entered Munfurawa's room. This was a man with a chiseled beard and was much taller and threatening. Standing around 5'10" was Munfurawa's father, and he did not look happy at his son.

"I come back to hear this is going on with my son, how shameful…" Munfurawa's father sighed, listening to his wife exclaim to his son, but not doing anything.

To say Munfurawa was a strange child was an understatement. While it seemed, he developed at a normal rate, it became apparent as he got older that he became quieter. He had seemed so happy to get into school, for the experience. Now, his personality resembled more of a bored busy college student who had too much workload.

At first, they thought of Asperger's Syndrome, but eventually realized it was more environmental and social causing. Eventually he was not diagnosed with the disorder.

But this was a child, a pre-school student. How could they have so much work? Especially a child as smart as Munfurawa, he would finish his work in school in a mere 15 minutes, while others took almost twice as long. In education, he was progressing rapidly, but socially, he had become quieter.

They had to fix something. And they had tried previously.

They had tried to get Munfurawa into soccer, ice skating, basketball, even Munfurawa's father would take him on weekly bike rides to keep himself active, but to no avail. None of those things appealed to the young Munfurawa, who looked dead set on retaining a hermit life of paper and study.

That was not what they wanted from their child. While they loved how smart he was, they knew this lifestyle was unhealthy. And so they kept looking.

That is, until Munfurawa's father found something while driving to his workplace. His workplace was far, taking 2 hours to drive to, but he provided to his family well.

Near their house, was a martial arts dojo, with a sensei whom Munfurawa's father knew well, having gone to high school with.

After numerous conversations, the sensei, Fukunaga Makoto, had agreed to Munfurawa's father's request. They had explained of his son's situation and was desperate to find something that would work for him. Anything to keep him active and living the lifestyle a young child should.

It was only a 20-minute walk from the house, and another 20 from Munfurawa's elementary school, so he was able to walk quickly. He could walk to school, go home, get his martial arts bag, and walk to the dojo.

When Munfurawa was just 5 years old, he had begun Tae Kwon Doe. However even then, the place always seemed suspicious for Munfurawa. In part due to the fact that it wasn't just for the sport. The fact that the sessions were 6 hours long, and also involved vigorous other methods of working, even Munfurawa couldn't say it was.

Still, it was the only thing Munfurawa found himself enjoying. The kicking techniques, the sparring with others, he enjoyed it. It gave him a sense of emotional release he had long needed. Even though he started weak, hating everything because he was unable to properly perform the technique, he eventually learned, and felt happy.

Munfurawa was always a quick learner. He had learned the fastest in his school regarding the alphabets, and basic algebra and mathematics. How to kick properly, whilst retaining balance was no different. He started Tae Kwon Doe in preschool, and when he went to elementary school, he was progressing, having obtained his red-striped belt, with blue surrounding. He just needed red belt, black-striped, and then finally black belt.

However, the Hana Incident tainted his progress somewhat.

Beforehand, Munfurawa had always attended martial arts, from Monday to Friday. He would then go biking with his father. His parents had forced him to follow his schedule of walking home from school, before heading to the dojo every day. Martial arts was the only sport Munfurawa had consistently done, and while he became athletic to perform well in other sports, he still lacked the experience, and it didn't click with him as martial arts did.

Munfurawa, had changed significantly when Hana had betrayed him. He had become colder, meaner, and more sinister as a result. It didn't help that he had begun picking fights in his school now, by the group of kids who would torment him.

His parents went from concerned to appalled. It didn't help that Munfurawa would come home with the occasional bruise, indicating he would briefly tussle with his fellow peers. By then, his reputation was shot in the chest. Not the heart, but close, and irrecoverable.

His parents stopped and forbade him from going to the dojo for months. But that didn't stop Munfurawa's anger and dismay. He continued fighting his peers, whether it was a case of aggression or self-defense, Munfurawa was always the one responsible, because it was the whole school against him. The teachers would believe a group of people who attacked a student, rather than the single defender, due to the number advantage. He had absolutely no one, and now his parents had prevented him from attending the one thing that kept him in check.

Sure, the Hana Incident made him angrier, but his parent's decision to cut him from the next martial arts tournament as punishment did more damage than they presumed.

Munfurawa had begun to break down mentally. He had fallen out with everything. He was still angry, but even quieter, rarely talking to teachers or family, focusing on his studies, it made his parents more worried.

Eventually, Munfurawa had enough. He went against his family's wishes in participating in the martial art's tournament, and scored third overall, and second in jump rope longevity overall. Despite his two-month hiatus, he was still a formidable opponent to anyone within the island.

When he came back with his silver and bronze medal, the first medals he got outside of participation medals, he saw the anger in his parents. His father took the medals from him and threw them away, while his mother locked him into the room and hid his Tae Kwon Doe bag.

The next day, his father came in, and decided to show Munfurawa his place.

Heading to school, injured from his father's judgement, he was tormented yet again by his peers, and picked on. They even got physical, but Munfurawa hadn't snapped. He had taken the blow from someone in the group, yet he hadn't retaliated, just giving them void eyes, hollow and empty like the void of space.

Eyes that showed so much pain and loss. The feeling of hope shattered the fear of losing his one passionate thing. He had lost everything and was left with his pain. Through it all, he was learning how people worked and functioned.

His body hurt even more, and he didn't want to go home. But he couldn't go to the dojo, so he explored the main area, where most of the people lived.

Even then, he hated it. He saw so much torment, so much pain, and unnecessary drama.

Remembering everything that had happened to him, something in Munfurawa had snapped, as he charged at the unsuspecting petty thug with a flying side kick, knocking him out with the velocity Munfurawa was going. Deciding he had a bit of fun knocking some petty thug out, he had walked home, getting berated by his parents yet again.

The next day after school, he saw three petty thugs. They were branching out to do as much crimes as they could. Munfurawa chuckled, "They just made it easier to fight them one on one…"

The first thug didn't know what happened, he was merely dropped to the ground by a devastating flying kick. Midair Munfurawa had twisted his body allowing for both his feet to strike the thug, once in the back and neck, the latter blow knocking the thug unconscious.

The second thug attempted to strike Munfurawa with a quick punch, only for the kid to turn around and perform a reverse turning kick. He closed the distance by kicking the thug in his ribcage, before punching his temple knocking him out.

The third thug was the hardest. He had managed to avoid Munfurawa's kicks and pinned the kid to the ground, choking him. Managing to headbutt the thug's nose, breaking it, he got up and knew he had to be brutal as well.

This was different from normal sparring he had done numerous times in martial arts. He was also still a kid, fighting almost grown adults. How was Munfurawa able to do this, or at least make it easier on himself? Simple, he had to learn more street fighting techniques.

He had to play dirty. He smiled darkly, before brutally defeating the thug. He had punched the thug in his liver, forcing him on the ground, before elbowing his face, and axe kicking his ribcage.

There was no doubt that the final criminal would be injured significantly to need medical attention with his fractured rib.

At 8 years of age, Munfurawa had begun fighting petty thugs on the streets, mainly to fill the void his dojo gave him.

However, that would only two weeks, as his parents would put him back in the dojo again shortly after. However, he still continued fighting petty thugs.

Of course, this didn't last long. Munfurawa's parents had noticed their son's antics of staying out late. He had begun to stall in his studies, even though he still did well.

But it concerned them now, what was the kid doing now?

Munfurawa was caught when his father had begun driving home from work. This was around nine months later, during grade three now.

Munfurawa had finished beating a thug by smashing his knee into their jaw, when his father had dragged the child into his car, not caring if it seemed like kidnapping.

He was livid, but also concerned. They didn't know Munfurawa would begin to do something so dangerous…

His father sighed, knowing very well he failed his son. He shouldn't have begun punishing him severely for his actions.

He was going to talk with his wife.

"Munfurawa, go to your room." Was all the father said.

"Father, I can explain-" Munfurawa did not want his parents to punish him further. But also somewhat angry. This was the only thin that kept him sane, were they going to prevent him from doing this now? What was next?

Munfurawa couldn't finish, "No, go."

The child sighed, "Fine…" On the verge of tears, he ran up and locked his door, lights off as if he didn't even come home.

"He's picking fights with street thugs…" The adult male told his companion, whom visibly gasped.

She was appalled, and incredibly worried for her child. "Oh my god, how could we have let this happen?"

"I don't know, but I think we should let him commit further in the dojo, that was probably the biggest mistake we have ever made for Munfurawa…"

The mother agreed, nodding her head solemnly, "We failed him…"

The father shook his head, "I shouldn't have begun-"

"It's okay, we can change for the better, we're not perfect, but we have to for our child's sake…"

The father nodded, approaching Munfurawa's room.

"What?" The child asked in such a cold manner, it made his father's spine chill. To see his child in such a dark place mentally scarred him, and made him hate himself to an extent.

"I had a talk with your mother." Munfurawa's father started, and immediately the child anticipated more punishments.

Another one of dad's judgements, he braced himself, only to be met with a statement.

"We will reinforce your time in taekwondo. We think this will be the best course of action for your recent spring of activities that we cannot let go unnoticed."

For the first time in a while, Munfurawa's eyes shined with hope.

His father nodded, giving the child a small smile, "Yes, we shouldn't have forced you out of the dojo, especially when it was the only thing keeping you active."

Munfurawa's eyes began to leak, as he was happy, he got something to do. "Thank you…"

"Don't thank us, we're just correcting our wrongs right now…"

The hours of enrollment for the dojo increased from 6 hours to 8. He was now getting home by 10, exhausted, but thankfully the walk home, while slow, was nothing compared to the almost torturous activities he had done.

Life for Munfurawa began to get back to normal after that stint. After grade 2 and 3 of picking fights with street thugs, who thankfully were inexperienced and could be beaten by anything, Munfurawa was back in the dojo, remembering all the techniques. He still did fight thugs, but not to the same degree as before, as he was picked up by the police and warned of the risks, after grade 4.

He picked up some new techniques, thanks to some street credit, for about a year. He had to be careful in the event of sparing as the rules reapplied again.

Munfurawa went back to normal in school. While he was still alone and isolated by his peers, even by Hana, whom he despised now, he was continuing with his work, studying, going to the dojo, and eating. It wasn't the active life many kids had, but it was the life he was starting to enjoy again.

Grade 5 went by, and Munfurawa continued on. His parents remained the same, however with one significant difference.

"Is mom okay?" Munfurawa asked, and his father nodded. Apparently while their mom was walking home, she was struck by a truck.

"She survived the car accident, but she suffered neural damage."

Munfurawa tilted his head in confusion, "neural?" Not from not knowing what it meant, but rather in disbelief.

"It means her nerves for moving and feeling are hurt, she'll be on painkillers."

Munfurawa smiled despite the tragedy, "Ok father, let's surprise mom when she gets home then!"

His father chuckled, "Of course we can."

While their mother did survive and come back to them, it ultimately turned south.

As Munfurawa's mother continued to recover, she began to feel more pain. She struggled to move, and had unexplained episodes of twitching and pain.

By grade 6, their mother's health had deteriorated. She required stronger painkillers to help with her chronic pain, and even begun taking opioids. Munfurawa and his father provided what they could, and tried their best, but she was still struggling.

By grade 7, things had fallen apart. They went to the doctor after Munfurawa's mother had tumbled, and was increasingly becoming clumsier, and struggling to move her limbs.

They didn't know why, but her condition worsened. Apparently, the nerves in her spine were damaged by the truck accident, and begun dying in mass. She was slowly losing her motor abilities, and she would inevitably become paralyzed.

That was tragic enough, but what Munfurawa saw next, was a new low.

In the bathroom, was Munfurawa's mother's lifeless, limp body, a bottle of opioids in her hands, a knife in her left. She was bleeding across her torso, as if she carved herself up, whilst consuming enough opioids to overdose.

Munfurawa screamed and called emergency services, but she was pronounced dead when they got her to a hospital, after she had stopped breathing.

At the age of 12, Munfurawa had just discovered her mom dead, having committed suicide.

The loss took both males hard. Munfurawa no longer had a motherly figure to help with chores around the house, so Munfurawa would have to clean the house when he came back from martial arts.

His father worked longer hours, usually buying takeout food, since neither could cook. However, Munfurawa had begun to learn how to cook shortly after, eventually finding himself enjoying it, even if it was complicated.

He would help cook and his father would sometimes come home to the smell of food. He still focused on his education, but his quick learning allowed him to efficiently use the time he was able to study.

The start of his junior secondary school went by, and he remained the same. He was a black belt in taekwondo, he had long been, using martial arts to suppress his feelings about his mother's death. He was still antisocial and isolated, as no one wanted to talk to him. He noticed others began growing rapidly, while he seemed to have remained his height, and he felt unusually vulnerable, and the others felt confident.

However, a brutal one sided fight with the short Munfurawa winning eventually made him realize experience mattered over body matters, if the opponent didn't know how to use their body.

As Munfurawa matured throughout junior secondary school, he retained his quiet and somewhat cold personality. He rarely talked to other, aside from mandatory cooperation, and he excelled in his education, not caring what others thought of him.

"He's so sketchy."

"Yeah, I'm always observing you all interact."

"He's so ugly."

"Yes, and I take that as a fancy award, are you trying to make me feel special?"

"How does he live just working?"

"Why is he so quiet and disturbing?

He had heard all the terms, and he agreed. He was worse than the scum of the earth, and he embraced it. He had no other way before to stop the insults, so he self-deprecated himself to make them surprised. That's when the insult stopped. Because he was able to see the emotions within people. His eyes were always different, but he didn't care.

He became more resilient and more self-sufficient. He was able to cook for himself, and he didn't hesitate to brutally beat down anyone who threatened him. He was on his own, not caring for the drama around him. He only cared if it threatened the status quo of him not being recognized.

While the child-version of Munfurawa would be devastated when realizing he would never have a single friend, by the time he was in grade 2, he stopped looking.

At grade 7, Munfurawa had become desensitized to the idea of companionship. He was a imposing and threatening figure, in academics and physical abilities. He ironically struggled at one section of his education: sex ed.

For some reason, Munfurawa was among the poorest ranking students when sex ed started, but he managed to hide it from his peers. That was when he realized something.

Throughout the entire debacle, whenever a test or assessment was given back. Munfurawa would always rank high or even the top. And he would become the centre of attention, much to his dismay, as attention towards him was usually negative. This resulted in more fighting, which he would win, gaining experience with every tussle. However, when he scored average or below the pack, he wasn't given the attention. He enjoyed that feeling, as it allowed him to gain space and stay away from the drama.

He was invisible, and he loved that.

He still scored well, knowing if he scored low he could move past drama, but also knew he risked behind around them in higher education. So he decided to maintain his high mark, not revealing his maximum potential.

As for Sex Ed, Munfurawa was confused for a month, but then moved on. It seemed that his desensitization of companionship and friendship, had also blinded him to the idea of romantic and sexual connections as well.

No other peer dared to pick a fight with Munfurawa, because he had garnished a reputation as a silent, but brutal fighter. If anyone got too close to him, or tried to pick on him, Munfurawa would become brutal, almost sadistic-like when beating down his opponents, even punching when the opponent was down or clearly surrendered. Munfurawa didn't care.

He still attended his martial arts classes, participating in more tournaments than ever, with the best results he had ever achieved.

He gained such a prowess that they considered having him move to the national level, and then an international level. However, he lacked money so he couldn't go, but he still participated in his region.

Of course, he wasn't know in his immediate school of his prowess as a martial art athlete.

When he once noticed a girl looking at him creepily, he merely responded by making a face that made the girl walk away in disgust.

Munfurawa didn't care, he lacked any sympathy to make connections, and he had lost that ability a long ago. When grade 8 approached, it was the same.

His father rarely talked to him, which he stopped minding a while ago. Ever since his mother passed away, Munfurawa father had become quieter, and stopped caring about his son. If his son could function on his own, what purpose was his father to his son?

Everything changed, yet again for Munfurawa, later in grade 8 unfortunately.

It was something he never wanted to see again. He had thought the first time was bad, considering it was someone close to him. Unfortunately, the second time would be worse. Not because of the situation, but the aftermath and the consequential implications this had on Munfurawa.

"Hana, can you please send this down to the office?" The teacher for Munfurawa class had asked Hana to submit to the principal the attendance sheet. Of course, being the whiny girl she was, she declined, instead secretly passing the sheet to Munfurawa. He tried to give it back, only for the other students to shove it back to him.

Realizing he was outnumbered, on a battle he couldn't win, he got up, yanked the attendance paper and left.

As he began walking across the different halls, he heard an ominous sound that made him stop. Now that he mentioned it, there was a girl, Hayashida Noriko from his class who had been missing for the past day. He thought very little of it as he didn't care for the concerns of the people in his school.

Sighing as he opened the door to the biology lab room, his eyes widened. His normally stoic face, which can usually be mistaken as merely apathetic, turned to horror, his eyes displaying it's unique blend of colour on his iris, allowing for reflections to be seen on his pupil.

In grade 8, Munfurawa had found the dead body of one of his classmates, and the consequences were staggering.

What he saw, was Noriko, hanging, dead. She had committed suicide. What made this impact Munfurawa more, was the eerie semblance this had to his mother's passing. Both, he had found their dead bodies.

What could he do? All he could do was run back to the classroom, dragging the teacher to the site, which eventually resulted in the principal and ambulance getting called. However, before anything could happen, police arrived in addition and began investigating the scene, noting Noriko went missing roughly 24 hours ago.

Her death was ruled as a suicide, and Munfurawa was traumatized yet again by seeing another body dead.

However, Munfurawa could not believe what could have happened next.

As the week progressed after the incident, Munfurawa noticed the eyes staring down at him. At first he took a blind eye to this, thinking they were giving him the usual glares and stares of being a loner and weird.

Until some groups of kids attempted to attack him. That was strange, Munfurawa thought.

When he heard a student blame him for the death of Noriko, then did Munfurawa realized what was happening. They started spreading rumours that he had pushed and bullied this girl into suicide. Soon they made up the story that the girl was his ex-girlfriend.

Truth be told, that girl had hung around him, being too pushy with herself onto Munfurawa, and they even ate lunch together, albeit it was awkward, but he never considered it an ex.

But as multiple of his peers yelled at him for his oblivious for her clear feelings to him, and the dates they went out on, he realized that he never gave her an answer. Of course, this didn't cause her death, rather it was abusive familial problems.

To say Munfurawa as angry was just a mere statement. He was terrified and traumatized. And he could only watch as the rumour spread virally, even to outside his school.

Soon, Munfurawa couldn't leave his house without being scorned upon by the residents, even them believing the rumours that he had forced a girl to suicide. What was Munfurawa supposed to do?

By Grade 9, Munfurawa had been looked down upon, and ostracized by his community for the rumour of killing his ex-girlfriend.

This turned to a headlight when groups of angry groups would willingly pick fights with him. He remembers the beatings, the assaults, the verbal threats, and it tormented him.

It was almost like he had become a street brawler again, instead this time he was the villain and thug, according to his community. He couldn't leave his own house without being tormented in some way, due to this incident he wasn't responsible for.

What was left of Munfurawa hope in society, faded to nothing with this incident. This would also be the most impactful incident he would receive in his life.

What made this even worse was when he finished his junior high school education, his father had lost his job, due to the rumours of his son "murdering" a fellow high school girl.

Munfurawa father was pissed and took his anger out on his son, before kicking his son out of the house, much to the dismay and confusion of Munfurawa.

When he realized he would never be left back, he went to his sensei, and asked for help. While sensei was nice, he knew he couldn't take care of Munfurawa.

He had seen the boy grow up more than the kid's father, and understood him. Sensei had heard of the rumours, but did not believe them, feeling Munfurawa probably didn't even know the girl and being his so-called girlfriend, being as anti-social as he was.

He realized the damage was done, and that there was no way Munfurawa would have a normal life in this island.

Sensei knew of Munfurawa academic capabilities, and decided to enroll him into a senior high school that emphasized a sufficient lifestyle, something Munfurawa knew well, being able to cook, fight, and clean after himself.

Advanced Nurturing High School. It was for the top of the students in Japan, and while most came from around the metropolitan area, Munfurawa was no different, despite his different upbringing. In particular, being put in an environment where only students would be in the environment, with no outside experience.

Of course, Munfurawa was scared, not knowing if he would be able to do martial arts again, but his mentor chuckled.

"Silly, there are other martial arts dojo outside of me. The high school will probably have a martial arts club, where you can train with fellow peers."

Munfurawa sighed, wanting badly to escape this island, and felt that this weird school was a better alternative.

"Sure, I'll do it." He agreed. Only doing so because of the rapidly deteriorating situation his life was in, considering he had almost been killed by a particularly brutal assault.

A now, 15-year-old Munfurawa, had moved rapidly. From the setting transformation, from a sparse, simple island, to a populated city, the boy had a lot to observe. He was somewhat surprised with himself at his ability to not show many expressions.

His unusual eyes surveyed the environment, his shoulder length black hair reaching across his face to cover it.

Accidentally bumping into someone, Munfurawa stared into the eyes of the other person he looked at.

The guy seemed similar to him. He had the same hairstyle as Munfurawa, shoulder-length, but was more straight, and magenta coloured. They seemed almost identical in height, but Munfurawa was slightly shorter. Being around 171.5 cm, or 5'7½", Munfurawa wasn't noteworthy in that sense. But his slim muscular body showed he was experienced in these situations, the scars across his arms were faded, with it becoming more concentrated the closer to his shoulder he got, whilst he also had some on his chest, thighs and legs. Still, Munfurawa glared at the other.

"The names Kakeru Ryūen, what is yours, mysterious new guy?" Ryūen asked, to which Munfurawa didn't care, even if a mysterious body-guard looking person was behind him.

"Find out yourself." Was all Munfurawa said before turning around and walking away.

Already not wanting to cause drama, he intended to walk away. That is, until he felt the air around him change. Quick as a cat, Munfurawa sidestepped a sucker punch from Ryūen before slapping his wrist away, gripping it tightly once it was out of Munfurawa body figure, still staring at Ryūen with pure hatred suddenly.

That's not to say he was cold, but rather just uninterested most of the time. He was focused on himself, and especially was expressive, showing anger and hatred towards anyone whom he fought. His eyes turned feline-like, made even more menacing by his uniquely coloured irises, while his mouth and teeth were bared. He showed complete hatred as if he wanted his opponent dead.

"Advanced Nurturing High School, no matter the quality of the school, the people at the school would be no different…" Was all Munfurawa had stated, before entering the school, taking his keys and rooms. It appears that he was roughly two weeks late to the party, which was exempt due to his travels, and preparations, which he did explain to the authorities and the likes.

All he cared about was getting through the biggest drama that was life. And for starters, he focused on getting through this high school.

He clearly was new and didn't know where he was going.

Finding his new room, he noticed the surprisingly live space the area was, as he looked around. He saw a boy with average brown hair and brown eyes, with a stoic expression, seemed to be taller than the other boy he saw, talking to a shorter girl with long black hair, some braided. Judging by their expressions, they're connection seemed somewhat forced or sarcastic. He noticed another girl who seemed to be overly expressive and chatty with everyone.

Grunting, Munfurawa hated those types of girls, but moved on. If he could just get to his room, then he could get through the rest of the night invisible.

It seemed that the stoic boy and cold black-haired girl rooms were next to each other, while Munfurawa was next to the girl's. Sighing, he opened the door to his room, and entered inside with his luggage, his martial arts bag, his cooking utensils, everything.

He did see a lot of stores around the high school, but he had no money, and wasn't sure how it worked. Maybe they gave you currency? He wasn't sure.

He ignored the cold stare of the black-haired girl, heading inside. It wasn't like he was going to be seeing her a lot more.

Sighing, he went to lie down, but also realized he was missing a lot of stuff. A digital phone? Huh.

Getting out of his room, with his security card and the likes, even bringing his martial arts bag, he began his search, before realizing the same black-haired girl was being annoyed by a small petite girl with beige hair, she was too happy for her own good and clearly was hiding under a mask.

Those types of girls were the worst, Munfurawa thought, before he made his way past them, ignoring the looks the two girls were giving him. The black-haired girl glared, while the beige haired girl, looked interested.

Ignoring them and the looks they were giving him, he made his way to the office, to get his digital phone case. Carrying his martial arts bag, he was eager to perform some taekwondo today. He hadn't been able to for a week because of his travels. Maybe after he could find a club regarding it, he didn't know.

For now, all he cared about was living his life, and he didn't care about anything else. Not that boy who already tried punching him, and not those girls who stared at him.

A.N / Well that concludes the first chapter. Not a lot of interaction, the second chapter will have more to go with. I purposely did not give the names of the other COTE characters, to add some sense of animosity. I have a starting foundation for Munfurawa and his adaptation into the series. As for tension, I already think I hinted to it. He already has strife with Kakeru Ryūen, so that's nice.

One more thing I will specify about this character is the fact that not everything about him has been explained. Most of his past is general, and not specific, as the series goes we'll put flashback scenes into the troubling life of Munfurawa. Regarding actual COTE news, July is a good month for anime and light novel readers of COTE. I genuinely cannot wait to see the anime.

Also, the stigma with mental health and suicide is from what I remember, still there in Japan. Also, your future can depend on something your family does, which is why Munfurawa's father lost his job.

Anyways, I will see you later, and hope the new season and novel for COTE is amazing! I mean you cannot go wrong with COTE, hehe…
