Star Wars: After the Rise

After the Battle of Exegol, the First Order is severely crippled, and Rey Skywalker, Finn, and Poe Dameron all face uncertain futures. But a new threat has slowly been gaining power in the forgotten corners of the galaxy. Rey makes new friends on a small farming world, Finn meets an ancient master from a lost age, and Poe seeks to revive a legend in a new Star Wars story.

1. Opening crawl

It is a period of upheaval in the galaxy. Following the destruction of Palpatine on Exegol, the remnants of the First Order have scattered across the stars. The Resistance is looking to reform the Republic as a Galactic Alliance, while Jedi REY SKYWALKER is taking her first steps towards rebuilding the Jedi Order.

Having learned her close friend FINN is also Force-sensitive, Rey has begun preparing to train him, despite her inexperience as a teacher. Knowing she is unable to rebuild the Order on her own, Rey has been looking for more information on other Jedi who might still be alive. After returning to Ajan Kloss on a strange whim, she discovers clues that there is an unknown entity hiding there.

Unbeknownst to Rey or her friends, a malevolent new force is gathering. A ship full of Dark Side users encroaches on a small planet at the edge of known space. Their leader, a Dathomirin Zabrak named MORROTH, claims to have found what he's looking for on the small green world…

Hey folks! Thank you for taking the time to check this story out. Before we start with the story, I had a few things I wanted to share.

I remember leaving the theater in December of 2019, after seeing Rise of Skywalker for the first time. And unlike a lot of people at the time, I really enjoyed it despite its flaws. But as it ended, I only had one question on my mind:

"What happens next?"

So, an idea for a story formed, and then barreled forward into something much larger than I initially intended. I've been writing out ideas since 2020 (when I had a lot more time on my hands to do so), and earlier this year I finally started writing out what I envisioned as the first part of the story.

For Star Wars fans, imagine this as being like the theatrical release of the animated Clone Wars movie, which was an extended pilot for the show. This is meant to set up the ongoing story.

I also wanted to do something a little different. Something I love to do is fancasting. When writing, it helps me to get a better picture of the character in my mind's eye and ear. At the end of each chapter, every new character that appears that is an original creation, or does NOT have an established actor, I will give a short list of who I imagined them to be. These actors would also have to be currently living (with one notable exception that I will explain at the end). Of course, you're more than welcome to visualize them however you want.
