Chapter 65: The Lords of the Towers

The Red Moon. A mystical phenomenon where the moon becomes red and eventually would remain in the sky for three days and nights, not allowing the sun to shine during that time period. The Red Moon would then emit a wave of unique magical energy that stimulates vampires and ghouls alike, giving them enhanced strength, regeneration and bloodlust.

Using my analysis magics, I tried to understand how the Red Moon came to be and why did the vampires, who are not even undead but merely carriers of Diablos cells would react to it.

The result? Astonishing. The magic wave emitted by the Red Moon… comes from another world entirely, a realm whose dimension is currently colliding with this one. I suspect that it comes from the First Realm that the 'original Diablos' originated from, that's why the vampires, who adapted differently to Diablos cells than the Possessed, reacted to it.

That's also why the night would unnaturally last for three days and nights.

I may have already learned space magic but opening a gate to a world that is currently colliding with this one might not be the best idea. If I could take a look at the Ring of Succession that Oriana kingdom possessed, I may gain more insight into how the Cult opened the dimensional gates safely because even Lord Laugus' research on the matter is limited.

Regardless, I'll have to see the effects of the Red Moon for myself. With my improved vampiric drug, I shall turn myself into an even stronger version of Alucard and I shall meet that Van Helsing guy soon. I can't wait.

On another note, due to his defeat against Alucard, Mordred purchased an Artifact from me, something he and most of the other Rounds members were reluctant to do so far. He obviously refused to tell me why he suddenly changed his mind, being as secretive as all other Rounds tend to do, not that he need to.

I gave him a sword called Clarent for the irony. I bet he's now having fun with it like Jormungandr, whom I gave Mjollnir to. The man loved the lightning hammer so much that he ditched his previous favourite venomous blades which were made out of a giant serpent's fangs.

Now I am in my Don Jon disguise, visiting my Don Jon tower located in the center of the city surrounded by three other towers. It looks like a modern skyscraper as per my design, in contrast to the Black Tower's more industrial look, the White Tower's more Japanese look, and the Crimson Tower's Tower of Babel look.

This is where I reign over the Lawless City. Due to my long absence and the upcoming Red Moon making Don Jon's subordinates anxious, I had to show up to maintain order on the tower. I should later leave a Don Jon clone while I act as Alucard.

I stood in the highest floor, which is still under construction, while beholding the sight of the Crimson Tower. A subordinate approaches me from behind.

"Boss! You're here! The vampires have begun spreading not just across the city but also to nearby countries! They plan on turning everyone into ghouls! Just the other day, they tried to infiltrate this tower and killed several men!" The subordinate in black suit and black sunglasses said.

"Worry not. Others shall take care of them for us." I said.

"Wh-Who is it, boss? Sir Juggernaut? Lady Yukime? The Spellsword Association?"

"Shadow Garden… and their vampire hunter allies."

"Shadow Garden…? But what do they…?"

"Even they cannot ignore the surge of vampire activities across several kingdoms."

"I see. But you said that the Red Moon is coming! If this continues…"

"I said it's fine. We need not lift a finger in this matter." I said as I took a cigar from my pocket and put it in my mouth.

"Very well, boss." The subordinate said as he left me.

I lit the cigar on my mouth with a lighter, takes a puff and…

*Cough cough cough*

Well… That was embarrassing. It's good that the subordinate didn't see it. Seriously! What's so good about smoking!? I wouldn't do this if it weren't cool!

"Lady Yukime! Lady Carmilla is here!" Reported Natsu, a brown haired cat beastkin and one of Yukime's close aide.

"Haahhh… I just got back from the meeting with the MCA and fended off their assassins… and now this." Yukime said while clutching her head stressfully. "How many girls did she feed on this time?"

"None… Lady Yukime."

"None? That's surprising." Yukime mused.

"She appeared to be… depressed… unlike her usual haughty self. I heard her constantly chanting the name Laura while resting on her room." Natsu said.

"Hm… Something must've happened within Lord Necromancer's court. In the end even that vampire woman is a victim of his evil after all." Yukime said while frowning, fully knowing how the Necromancer keep control of his minions.

Speaking of his minions, Yukime remembered the short robed person called the Acolyte, who is always close to the Necromancer. Due to her experience as a prostitute, she could tell that the person under that ominous robe and eerie white mask is a young girl and although her sense of smell isn't as strong as a wolf beastkin, she still could tell that the Necromancer's scent is very much present on her and vice versa. She can conclude that the two of them are lovers with how close they are.

That is indeed worth investigating. I wonder if I can use this against him… No. It's too dangerous. I must move carefully. Thought Yukime.

"Hey there, Yukime!" A familiar voice came from the window, making Natsu adopt a battle stance.

"Oh, Adra. Couldn't you use the door like a civilized person instead of sneaking in like a thief?" Yukime said in a friendly tone while motioning Natsu to stand back.

"Ha ha ha! I thought this is a norm in this Lawless City!" He replied jokingly.

"You seem to be in an awfully joyous mood. I thought you're supposed to kill your sister."

"I haven't even started actually. And I'd like to keep it that way." He replied nonchalantly.

"Are you sure Lord Necromancer will just let you off like that? Won't he punish you even more?"

"That's what I thought too last time I see him, but he completely ignored me. He didn't even ask me about my mission. Normally he wouldn't forget about such a thing. I don't know why but I'll take this blessing for as long as I can."

"How curious…" Yukime murmured. Lord Necromancer can't be that generous. What evil schemes does he have in store this time? I must watch and wait. She thought to herself.

"Anyway, what are you doing here?" Yukime asked.

"Just visiting an old friend…. Also worried about Carmilla. Shocking I know."

"What happened to her?"

"I heard Lord Necromancer punished her for her many defeats by erasing the memory of her deceased sister Laura."

"Laura…? I see." Yukime frowns, finding another reason to hate and fear the Necromancer.

"I couldn't even imagine being forced to lose memories of my loved ones like that even if they passed away already." Yukime said, pitying the vampire woman she used to hate.

"Me too." Adra replied in agreement.

"May we do not suffer the same fate as her." Yukime murmured while remembering her own deal with the lord of death and how her family and people's souls will likely be held hostage.

"Are our forces ready for the bloodbath?" Juggernaut said while gazing at the Crimson Tower from atop his Black Tower.

"Yes, Sir Juggernaut! We are ready to fight to the death!" Replied one of his subordinate.

"Good! Soon we shall go wild and kill everyone from other towers! Even Don Jon!" He muttered while tightening his grip on his new weapon, an Artifact class axe he obtained by defeating a First Child of the Cult who tried but failed to intimidate him into working for the Cult some time ago.

"With this axe, I shall finally challenge that old man. Whether this gives me an edge against him or not doesn't matter as long as I can have a blast before I die!" Exclaimed Juggernaut while lifting his axe up in the air.

"YEEEEAAAAAHHHH!" His subordinates shouted in excitement for the coming conflict.

In an office room in the Crimson Tower, Crimson the vampire lord, its ruler, is sitting on his desk while sipping blood from a wine glass. One of his subordinates entered the room with a report.

"Lord Crimson. We have lost contact with the team sent to Oriana. We believe they too have been slaughtered."

"Hmph. No matter. The time is near. With the resurrection of the Blood Queen, our kind shall once again flourish. Never again shall we be forced to bow down to a human. Soon we shall show that despicable human who is master." Crimson replied calmly and callously.

"But my lord! At this rate our numbers have dwindled too much! Even with the Red Moon, I doubt we could hold off the forces of the other rulers!"

"Silence! Once the Blood Queen rises, all powers shall be rendered worthless! Be they the other rulers, Spellsword Associations, kingdoms, Cults… or even Don Jon!" Exclaimed Crimson while slamming the table with his hand.

"My lord…!"

"Proceed with the plan and capture a boy with high magical power." Crimson ordered.

"We have already secured a suitable sacrifice."

"Good. We need only wait for the time." Crimson grins.

"One more thing, sir. Carmilla has been spotted in the White Tower!"

"Carmilla? That weakling? So she has joined Don Jon?"

"We are unable to confirm that, sir."

"Try to contact her and give her the last chance to join us."

"Very well." Said the subordinate before leaving the room.

"Carmilla… Her sister Laura was more useful. Considering how I used them as bait to lure out Mary a long time ago, I doubt she will willingly join me again… No matter. She is not worth much."

Author's Note:

Building up the events before the Red Moon comes. Also, Merry Christmas!

Rhaveno: i remember a fanfic that says something that pertains to harlequins from wh40k that their "propheciesare actually extremely vague and extremely general wordplay so that if something happens a millennium later that is even remotely close they'll say its the "prophecy". Why did mention this? Because Cid is playing the same tactic. and I find it hilarious! good job author

Answer: Basically what Cid did at the beginning of the series. Glad you liked it.

Wholesome07: So, who will Cid disguise this arc, Van Helsing or Shadow?

Answer: Van Helsing.

Imboredlmao11: I think a lot of people would agree it's time for Van Helsing to go against alucrad and I'm kinda hoping Claude just appears in front of shadow and teaches cloning magic so his identity doesn't mess up

Answer: Van Helsing is being set up to fight with Alucard already. For now Cid hasn't even considered the idea of kagebunshin no jutsu.

Zero: Hope alucard demoralize both Zeta and mordred in there fight it epic if alucard have a spell can stop time call it "Za Worldo" it be hilarious that alucard would troll Zeta every time she takes a step towards him he stops time make her do a two step back like dio did to that French dude on the stairs from jojo.

Answer: (This review was from chapter 61: Ancient Legends) I didn't put Za Warudo but I did put MUDA MUDA MUDA reference.

Zero Vader Sparda Alucard: So I'm guessing Claude will have Alucard wanting to capture Epsilon because she's a reincarnation of a loved one from his past. Maybe circumstances separated them and made him a tragic villain as opposed to Necromancer's mad scientist type of villain?

Answer: It's what Beta and Epsilon thought. ;P
